He recommended the Brazil single origin, which I love, as well as the winter blend earlier this year, both delicious coffees! Cafè Nero is a lovely cozy cafe with really nice people. It’s a nice place to take the kids; With lovely food and good drinks, now I know why they called the special menu special! Nero, nothing can beat you!

One of the worst Nero's I've had the misfortune of visiting. Unfriendly staff and dirty tables. I also didn't get to use the restroom. After standing under the toilet for 15 minutes, I realized that they were closing it long before the cafe closed, because they were cleaning it along with the next room, which was also blocked off for customers’ access. Despite the fact that the cafe is located in a pleasant place, the attitude of the staff towards the client is 👉unacceptable👈.

Brilliant experience. The store's new manager, Noemi, is outstanding and there's a dedicated, hard-working team here who do their best for every customer. There is a comprehensive range of food and pastries, and perhaps most importantly, the coffee is consistently great! There are plenty of seats and it's an oasis of calm in the picturesque town of Godalming. JJ

Don't visit if you prefer to use clean toilets.

First time here. Pleased to find them open by 730am. The Barista was alone but gave superb and friendly service. Coffee was good ...been back. His name is Sam he always remembers me and his service and coffee are consistently good

Showing its age now and us regulars expect a smartened up of this old friend...need to expand andvimprovevtge food range, get some thenes going, restyle the decor...just getting scruffy

I've been around Godalming for some jobs. Went to coffee, Nero!! Honestly, it's a ver cold welcoming.. After ordering my coffee, I went to sit down to carry on some online jobs. I've been not served at all!! They asked me to collect my coffé even if none was waiting to get its order!! When I went to collect my order, I asked for a sweetner!! The girl told me it is finished!!in a very unprofessional way. It was easy to get a sweetener somewhere, but she didn't care. Someone else ordered after me and was served at their table!!! Wooow.. I can imagine when it's busy. I don't mind, but I would like to get my coffee and, in the meantime, do my business, which honestly has a deadline. I did say fine!! When I collect my order, no spoon has been given!! A classic cortardo with no spoon!! I toke my ☕️ and left!! I won't really recommend this branch..

Great service and top notch produce

Very nice coffee, the cake was fresh. The service was excellent once you got served but the queue moved very slowly. This is a staffing issue more than anything else as only 1 person serving who was taking your order, making your coffee and taking your payments. Other staff who assume were in the kitchen or in one case off duty often queue jumped worked the till to pay for own food and drink and made their order prior to any customers hence 3 stars for service

Good service and a tasty pane de raisin. Decor all a bit dated now. It could do with a lick of paint and a few new pics on the walls. That said it was nice and clean.

The barista was on his own, telling those in the queue his colleague didn’t turn up. In spite of this he was polite and did a fantastic job serving everyone!

The service is so slow during the week days taking over 10 mins to get an order in whilst one or two people are in front of you, will not be going back

Visited last Saturday afternoon (22nd October). Downstairs seating was closed and upstairs was seriously unattended. 5 tables messy and not cleared, meanwhile Staff downstairs chatting to a friend ?! ... Upstairs tub chairs are uncomfortable and most tables are too low to be adequate for the majority of seating. The walls and kitchen door look grotty and it desperately needs a makeover. Used the ground floor loo to wash my hands before leaving and found it disgusting. The urinal needs to be removed as it's filthy and smelt. Just an utter disgrace. Noticed dogs are permitted inside and even allowed to sit on the furniture ! - this should not be happening. Overall this place is a huge disappointment. Just dirty and neglected. We used to visit a lot but won't go back now. There are much nicer places to get coffee in Godalming.

No siclian lemon drink, so tried mango and coconut, quite refreshing!

Dirty tables, dirty windows, dirty toilets, dirty floor. Gave us dirty glasses with Coka Cola and when challenged said 'oh yeah it's the dishwasher'. Left and had a beautiful drink and snack at an indy cafe across the road.

I called in here with my daughter and husband. The staff are so polite and friendly, we love the savory lattices and they make great coffee too. We always try to visit when in Godalming. Thank you😊

Possibly one of the best Nero I have been to. Cleanliness can be improved but it’s a good place for takeaway coffee. Good flavour.

Polite and friendly, quick service and good food too

This used to be a great place to grab a coffee but staff are always bored and slow these days. The coffee is the usual decent quality but having to wait in line for 15 minutes to get an espresso isn't great. No wonder Gail's across the road is always full while Nero is deserted.

Friendly staff, good atmosphere, good coffee, excellent vegan options (the chocolate vegan cheesecake is delicious). Only downside: it's quite expensive.

Found the coffee not to my taste, very strong. Plus point if you like that sort of think, it seems that dogs are allowed in. Good that the dog gets into the warm while its owners have coffee

Good coffee and friendly services must be a default setting for Nero and that's what we get. What I like about this branch is the historic building - different levels and corners make a unique ambiance and, importantly, high ceilings are great (especially if we think of the importance of air circulation in relation to how any viruses transmit). I would like to introduce the humane kindness of the staff - a homeless guy told me last winter in freezing cold that Nero was taking good care of them, which was heart warming and I thought worth mentioning, acknowledging and appreciating here.

Really sad not to be higher. Today I went in for a coffee with my husband- there appeared to be no sign asking us to wear a mask and at that point no one was wearing a mask in the Café at all- including others appearing to wait for coffee. There have been so many iterations of rules that we unfortunately misinterpreted this as no need to wear one (expecting to see a sign). We were very rudely served by a young girl with dark hair who, even once we put our masks on when we were asked by her, continued to treat us with disdain. Usually the staff in their are so friendly! I noticed when waiting for our order that the sign meant for masks had been turned around so that you couldn’t see it at point of entry. I mentioned this to her so that future customers wouldn’t be confused as we were at the lack of masks from everyone else not queueing (our mistake). It’s at this point she became incredibly rude. I mentioned that the sign had turned around and tried to apologise for our ignorance, but she started to lecture me on mask wearing and handed our (sub-par) coffee to us. I had simply suggested that the sign was turned around and there was no need for such treatment. Not something I have experienced there before, but I really feel that things should be made clearer in the pandemic, as they clearly had not been.

This is the best place in Godalming for a quality coffee. Staff are great and fast. Particularly recommend their Americano or Iced Latte.

I love a good black Americano and Caffè Nero do one of the best. Definitely looking forward to having real cups again though rather than take away cups.

Really nice little cafe, friendly staff, tasty sandwiches and paninis. There is a great selection of cakes too, and they're dog friendly. Becoming my favourite place to stop for a coffee!

What a lovely branch of Caffe Nero, the staff are always friendly and very helpful. Great atmosphere and always clean!

Staff seem to be friendly and to keep the place clean and tidy. Freshly baked pastries every morning and the lunch options seem better than most chain coffee shops. Where you are able to have a main like a sausage roll and add a simple side salad.

For at least the 2nd morning running the heating system us blowing out cold aircon air as if it's the middle of summer. Wi-Fi not working, it's become generally very tatty, loose toilet seats. Considering the amount of money this place takes per week and the lack of tax they pay a bit of reinvestment for it's regular customers wouldn't go amiss. Costa coffee just down the road do reinvest, a far nicer warmer experience. Stop being so bloody greedy Nero, there's many other places in Godalming for coffee so bear that in mind.

Always a friendly service, with the majority of the staff rembering my choice of coffee every morning which is a nice personal touch. Special mention to Emily, who personally dropped round a pastry for me in my office as they were in the oven cooking when i was in the shop! Very much appriciated! :)

Bit of a wait to be served but maybe I was just unlucky

Asked for a medium latte and charged £3 for a large. Weird as I visit other Caffè Neros through the week and the word 'medium' is understood and costs 2.75.

Visited Caffe Nero in Godalming, because our normal Costa was closed for refurbishment! Product range very similar to Costa, so we were able to have our usual coffee and toasted sandwich. Three seating levels, street level, and short flights of stairs up and down to the other floors. Toilets on the ground floor, were in a poor state of cleanliness, while those on the lower floor were more acceptable. Sadly, the seating area bore the remains of previous meals and drinks, but the counter staff were friendly enough, and brought our order to our table. Power points and usb sockets are available under the bench seating, which appeared to be a bonus to many of their customers.

Nice coffee but dirty decor, kids and dogs running riot and awful wifi

Went there on Sunday. There were stacks of dirty cups left on table as staff had not cleared up from previous customers. We ordered two hot drinks and the cups weren’t cleaned properly- that was disgusting!

Love this place and great coffee. The whole place could do with a thorough clean. Thick dust on shelf behind seating, old spilt coffee down the wall, dirty skirting board. Barista petting dog then serving and re-filling fridge with food. Sorry, but it needs cleaning.

Well not sure where to start but this place has really gone to pot! Very slow service baristas half asleep and hygiene well alwful plus the milk was off. They really need to get up to speed and not to be training staff during the morning rush hour. We just want a fast decent coffee & go.
