What can we say, an old fashioned pub, looks like it's had the same decor for about 100 years, not a bad thing I might add, staff very friendly and helpful.

Brought a friend from out of town because i heard the Band were good. Arrived an hour after the band started to find them on a break. Ordered drink anyway and barmaid ( might be Landlady? )came across as rude ( for no reason)

Great pub serving tasty, reasonably priced food. I occasionally get lunch here with colleagues and can highly recommend their hot roast beef sandwiches. Staff are friendly.

This is an old school pub in the traditional mould. It's nice to get a break from themed bars, but I fear this type of pub is less and less common. It's very friendly and their pub goers are chatty and low key, with quite a community feel to it. It's clean and well kept, The gents are tidy, but up some pretty steep stairs. (The Google photo is wrong btw)

Yes it a nice pub very much a pub of old It not a food pub as more pub are going that way but u can get a meal in said pub.

A proper pub. Warm & friendly, serving absolutely the best home cooked Sunday lunch ever for a very reasonable £13.95. Will definitely be back there.

We enjoyed a delicious roast here this afternoon, plenty of it, and reasonably priced. Staff were very welcoming. We watched most of France Poland match while eating. Definitely worth a visit.

Classic British pub, nothing fancy but with character and good vibes. The food was delicious and affordable, the right choice for someone looking for something nice and within budget.

Definitely reccomend. Staff are friendly and welcoming. I have stayed here for work in area on a few occasions and I'm very happy with all they do. Rooms are clean tidy and well maintained. Management are loverly. I will always use the Sun when I'm in the area. Excellent for sports and lots of choice. Live bands at weekends. Job well done 👏

Godalming and its surrounds has many pleasant pubs and was just a case of eventually coming around to venture into here for sake of balance. On initial entry, was tired, smelt bad and very unwelcoming looks. Dreary selection of drinks but made the best. Within a few minutes, was a lot of bad language and unpleasantness noted from a customer. Shockingly, when seeing others reactions, it turns out it was the landlord! What a thoroughly unpleasant character, insulting and swearing at all and sundry. Really couldn't believe it. To be that drunk and unpleasant at your own hostelry. Was like an episode of Shameless. Avoid at all costs!

I have been drinking here for over 20 years. The Sun Inn is the best-run pub in Godalming - it has reasonably priced beer, excellent food and a brilliant atmosphere. What more can you ask for?

The food was great and the place was nice, there was music playing and football on the TV. The only bad thing was the food took quite a while to finish, but as they say "that is a small price to pay for salvation"

Just one unique problem: the landlord. The landlord has not manners at all, he is oafish and boor, and also sneaky homophobic. It's a shame because the pub is great, all the staff members are fantastic, the people friendly, they have nice and great beers, with live music in the weekend and the chef is simply the best, (try his steak, it's the best of Surrey). Unfortunately the landlord is not like a Good Lord at all, extremely rude and aggressive. I spent almost the 30% of my salary in that pub each month. He probably is a rich man now, but it's just a poor man. He was like a beast with my friends without a reasonable motivation (maybe because they are lesbians, or maybe because one of them is a transgender). If I want to watch the beasties I would go to the zoo instead. Everyone can run a pub, it is not a rocket science, but few people really know the meaning of the word 'hospitality'. I am very sorry...I will miss that place, but they will miss me as well.

Food was good and the atmosphere was lively! Only reason it's not 5 star is that my burger came out almost as soon as I ordered which is a bit suspicious.

Town centre drink and eat hostelry, great food, staggering distance to bus stop and not further to the train station and great food. Did I mention that. Food good too and the beer ain't bad either.

I've been staying here eating and drinking here for the last 7 weeks and will be staying a lot longer best pub in town all round 😎😉

Well, what can one say about such a well run pub and bar, fantastic Badger ales, extremely well kept and wonderful warm welcomeing atmosphere. Godalming is blessed with such a superb place.

This place was ok went as a group, a glass got broken at the bar, think it got caught on someone sleeve and the bar man wouldn't replace the drink, I feel this was a bit mean
