A proper local pub with the rare Timothy Taylor's Dark Mild in great condition. The homemade food is excellent and best value.

A hidden gem of excellent food at a reasonable price. Far superior to any other pub in the farnham area. Try it! The boeuf bourguinon was the best I've tasted, including france.

After visiting a neighbour and witnessed a lady. ( later told the landlady ) verbally abuse a lady for simply turning around in the car park with her young child in the car This is one establishment I would not recommend Edit. ! 10 seconds. And your response was disgusting 🤢 aggressive And uncalled for.

It cost nothing to have manners and treat the local community with respect, absolutely awful attitude,, states it is family friendly she definitely isn’t family friendly, Avoid at all costs ! Awful pub would never use again ! EDIT you walked infront of my car so I couldn’t drive all because I turned around in the car park! You then used threatening behaviour towards me , While I had a child in the vehicle! I didn’t do anything illegal , I have been in the pub while you have run the pub and also know a lot who have used the pub and also a worker at the pub which is why I definitely wouldn’t use again! , This is why it is empty all the time your attitude towards the local community really is awful I have dashcam footage of this incident and I also have dashcam footage of you taking photos of children coming out of school because they walk past the pub , this is wrong all all accounts , it cost nothing to be kind , I did absolutely nothing wrong for you to aaproch my vehicle in that aggressive threatening manner, footage is going to the i also have many witnesses who will be making a statement, ,

Just had the most amazing food AGAIN! Wonderful home cooked food at great prices. It’s a hidden gem. I’ve had the beef bourguignon today which was so delicious . Last week I had the mutton curry which was also very good. Highly recommended!!!

No Sunday Roasts at this time of year. Other food available

The food is home made by the Landlady served when needed or asked for (beautiful dishes). Atmosphere is how you take it, but could be better if not told off for a little swear word.... Beer is great, especially the real ale (award winning)

We popped in for lunch with friends and really enjoyed the veg chilli - tasty, generous portion, nicely presented, good value. Loved the Timothy Taylor mild as well!

We were a party of 6 looking for somewhere for lunch in the area. 2 establishments were unable to supply . One had no chef and the other only had one staff for dining and could not cope. Next in line we came to the Running Stream. Initial impression was a little dated and well worn establishment BUT, greeted with friendly service for drinks and food order for for 6, each choosing something different, was served in a reasonable time, good tasty portions and affordable pricing. Had a good afternoon and next time in the area will visit again.

A local gem. Proper English Pub with a very friendly and warm welcome from a nice set of locals and friendly and helpful landlady who knows how to run a pub. Been visiting now as one of our locals for a year. I’m a real ale fan so it’s great that the ale is kept really well. It’s not a gastro pub but the other half is a big foodie and we’re very pleasantly surprised at the quality of her own cooked food. Last had the beef in ale stew which was great. A range of vans appear in the week serving food. Have tried the smoked meat van a few times with the family which was good. Overall, my perfect type of pub. No TV, lovely locals and landlady, great ale, and good parking. Can’t actually find anything negative to say about the place.

We recently held our Dad's wake here. Carolyn the landlord and her staff were empathetic and made us feel at home. Nothing was too much trouble. A really relaxing environment that made a difficult day bearable. Thank you. We will be visiting again soon!

Speaking to people like human beings doesn’t cost a thing. Approaching people and being rude to them instead of just communicating like a normal person won’t get you further.

Absolutely love this pub! It is a very friendly place with comfortable seats and a congenial atmosphere. They do Quiz Night on a Tuesday, Meat Raffle on a Friday and have 'live' music some weekends. The landlady, Carolyn, makes a point of talking to everyone in the pub and shows a genuine interest in her customers. I would highly recommend seeking out The Running Stream and would give 10 stars if it were possible.

Thursday nights the Running Stream is visited by a burger bar called Crumpys Smoke Shack. We had the Risk it for a Brisket burger, oh so good!! The guy makes all the burgers himself. The owners father brought us over some Korean Cauliflower to try, which was also amazing. He varies the menu every week so there will always be different things to try. We talked about him expanding his Korean food range. We will definitely be back. The pub itself, the staff were friendly, it was quiet so no waiting time. From what I saw of the pub it's small but does have a beer garden.

What a breath of fresh air. A real old fashioned pub that serves some wonderful real ales. The landlady is very knowledgeable and friendly and takes real pride in how the pub is run. Sadly there are not many pubs like this around anymore. This pub puts service and quality before profit unlike many newer pubs these days. Friendly locals and great beer, what more could you ask for? A real gem that is well worth a visit.

Enjoy coming here for the food vans. On Thursdays they have Crumpy's Smoke Shack which is amazing! Staff are friendly.

Great local pub. Very friendly, welcoming and efficient staff. Plenty of drinks to choose from (numerous ales, ciders and lagers) and dogs are allowed. A really super place for a quick drink or a long evening with friends.

Refurbished and decorated during lockdown period. Good to be back in a traditional style local.

Lovely little pub. Staff were amazing, nothing was too much trouble and they went the extra mile to be helpful. Seating inside and outside. Although there was no food on offer, we were able to order for delivery. They even gave us local menus.

What a pleasant helpful and welcoming little pub. We arrived on 6 motorbikes and received a very friendly welcome. They served us tea and coffee outside and helped us to order a takeaway food delivery. Deff recommend as they have a great outside sitting area and easy parking for the bikes

Not impressed with how obviously this establishment only considers the money it can make and not people. Very short-sighted.

Have been in the Running Stream recently for Friday dinner (last couple of weeks). There was only 5 customers including us. We had the meals here, which were disappointing to say the least. The portion sizes and quality of menu has shrunk from a few months ago, and according to a member of staff they have recently changed their chef. The beef stew was very poor value for money for what you get. My partners cod was much smaller than last time, and she said it tasted no different than the Birdseye packets. Evidently, the roast dinners on Wednesdays have ceased too. On top of this the drinks here are a tad expensive as well, ours was well over £9 for two people. Needless to say the landlady (Caroline) must improve this. She is talking about altering the menu to make the meals easier to prepare, which is a retrograde step. It is a shame, as you pay around £16-20 for two dinners, and you can now get better elsewhere for that money. We will not be eating here again for a long while.

Bit of a time warp pub, but no bad thing these days when chains are taking over everywhere. Not eaten here recently but always stop in for a pint or two when nearby. Green King ales always in good nick, so can recommend if you enjoy a decent ale.

We popped in here for the first time with out 13 year old son for dinner for my husbands birthday. Were made to feel very welcome and they serve good old fashioned home cooked food. Wich was lovely!

Definitely an old fashioned local with friendly staff. Let down for me when the food ordered (cheese filled jkt potato) was not hot enough to even begin to melt the cheese; it was a cold day, so not helped perhaps as their heating wasn't working.

Lovely friendly pub. Food menu is proper down to earth. Just what your mum cooked. Friendly Bar Staff. And lovely landlady. Come in and give it a try. Trust me you won't be disappointed.

It was full on lonely old men one earing peanuts and reading a car magazine how sad and to be honest the loos' smelt like cats pissing and needs to be sorted it's time this pub comes into the 21st century or it will be turned in to flat

We had lunch. Good home cooked pub grub. It's not going to win any Michelin stars but for the price it was excellent. Staff were friendly as were the locals. Will definitely go back.

Yet another wonderful meal. So good service so quick. The food is spot on and such good value. The beer and drinks are well kept. It is a good idea to book for lunch.

Good food and great beer , dart board which is good fun. Ham and eggs and chips are the best Staff are good Menus is basic but home cooked. Garden area is small but well kept

I think that the best thing for us about 'The Running Stream' pub was that our black Labrador was welcome. The pub was fairly teeming on a Sunday lunchtime, and our drink was perfectly nice. There is some outside space with tables and chairs. We didn't look at the menu, but I don't think we'll rush back.

Always welcoming and good old fashioned pub set up - worth popping in for an after work drink!! Large car park and prices are good too!

I have used this pub whenever I have been in the area for family visits etc and have never had a bad pint. Usually 4 ales on offer, always in good condition and lots of other draught beers and lagers. Can't comment on the food other than to say it always looks good when I see it coming out to other customers.

I popped in for a quick drink to fill 30 minutes and as I sat it was clear the elderly lady was not able to finish her dinner and eat pudding. She asked for a takeaway and they gave it to her in a bowl wrapped up in foil. So kind and thoughtful. Don't see that kind of service often nowadays.

We have been here many times as my in-laws live just around the corner. There is plenty of off road parking along the side of the pub. There is also an area outside to sit and drink under cover for those of you who enjoy a smoke. The pub is quite Oldie Worldee and has character. We have had several meals in here and they have always been terrific quality and excellent value. On Friday Nights they have a fish and chip night and that is perfect. Sunday Roasts are also amazing. Trevor is a very hard worker behind the bar and has had many staff over the years who have always been very efficient and friendly. We called in on Christmas Day for a drink and found the pub was absolutely cram packed. The car park on Christmas Day at 1230 was full and we had to park outside All Hallows School near-by. It was wall to wall with people inside the pub all having a Christmas drink. Once we had finally managed to get inside and get served we stood around and jointly decided that as the place was so popular/packed we would call in at the Elm Tree up the road to get a drink and a seat. I do really enjoy a pint in The Running Stream and can recommend it for an evening to relax and unwind, however maybe steer clear on Christmas Day.

The food drink and service are fabulous, I would recommend The Running stream to all who like pubs and even if you don't go there and check out the polished pipes in the toilets(even the ladies would be impressed!!!
