Was very fun to get drunk kebabs ant and I very much enjoyed it. It provided a very good bonding experience for me and my other adult volunteers.

nothing to moan about, all was good as expected 👌

Delivery was on “time”, however it took an hour to arrive. Which is probably not a reflection on the kebab house. The food was amazing, large portions and everyone was satisfied.

THE BEST KEBAB AROUND.!!! I travel all over the country and not yet have I had a better more flavourful kebab. My mrs (picky eater) loves his chicken kebab and will not eat a kebab from anywhere else! Staff are really friendly and will converse with you whilst preparing your food making you feel right at home! I honestly wouldn’t go anywhere else now I’ve found this kebab 11/10 top class

Food cancelled after 2 hour because they don’t deliver to us despite website saying they do and accepting order.

Delivered from just a mile away, yet stone cold. Ingredients and cooking all fresh and good, but stone cold food that is impossible to reheat, due to sauces and mix of salad and meats, is pointless. Shame.

Nice food, delivered on time and hot

I placed an order 25 minutes before close they then call 10 minutes later to inform me that the driver doesn’t want to do the delivery and he wants to go home. Therefore I am no longer getting the food I placed an order for over the phone.

Food was very cold which was a shame 😞

Only half the order was delivered. You are unable to contact them as phone number is a year out of date. This was terrible.

Ordered food @ 7:45pm with eta for delivery between 8:30pm-8:50pm. The food eventually arrived @ 9:15pm which 90 minutes since my time of order and over half an hour of the eta for delivery. Food was good quality but needed heating from home a bit more. The wait for my food is unacceptable and I hope this is rectified in some way.

Most disappointed. Had food from here before, not sure what went wrong this time. Burger was tepid, chips were cold. Couldn’t eat it, ended up in the bin.

Sadly made us stand there waiting whilst he served a big order then took another order before serving our food up. The offer of free drinks was a gesture but we just wanted our food. Won't be going back for a while.

This is literally the best kebab! Doesn't matter what you order its delicious. Sizes and price are spot on and the owner is such a great guy. Friendly, polite and humble. This is the only place you should ever want to get a kebab. We visited in December and the place was lively and the staff were very charming. The location is pretty and the pub dog friendly and cosy. The downsides are the menu didn’t cater enough for vegetarians or those with gluten issues ( no gluten free bread for instance) and I found for what you got it was very expensive for a pub . I had roast potatoes, carrots and two other vegetables and was charged £20 (about double what other pubs would charge for the meal in the area) and a Sunday roast meal for three with no wine or deserts came to almost £80 -But overall a nice experience and a lovely pub and the food was good.

The building is lovely and it used to be a really good restaurant, but it has gone downhill disastrously. The service is poor and the food even worse. Don’t bother to go there! We won’t again unless here is a complete change of management and chefs.

Sadly this restaurant is officially closed down for good since the beginning of January 2018. Another Bel and The Dragon is located in Churt which I would highly recommend.

We come here often and decided to book in for a treat for Christmas Day lunch. We were not disappointed with lovely food and excellent service. We really enjoyed the experience of eating out on Christmas Day and will repeat it. Thank you for the good portions, tasty food and friendly staff.

Last week I ended up going to the Bell & Dragon twice. The first visit was for a below average Xmas lunch priced at a staggering £45 per head with a company I have just joined. The second time was with a group of friends, I was not the organiser. I couldn’t really complain at the time!

Had a very enjoyable lunch here celebrating our wedding anniversary. The food is delicious, the portions very generous and the service from the waiting staff just right. The boiler had broken down so it was a little chilly while we were there but other than that I really liked the ambience. I can recommend the suckling pig and amazing roast potatoes and I also enjoyed my pate starter. The only thing I would change is the wooden boards that everything was beautifully served on - for white china plates - so much more classy - go square by all means - I'm a bit OCD cleanliness wise and I just don't think you can clean a wooden board as easily as you can a china plate. if it wasn't for the boards I'd have given top marks. We were given a lovely complimentary board of delicious chocolate pralines to mark our anniversary which was a lovely surprise and much appreciated. We will be back.

Just an over all poor experience for my mother and i. The staff had a negative uninterested attitude and well as sitting on the ground behind the desk is just appalling behaviour as well as unhygienic. Service was slow, and food was below average! I don’t know where they get there meat from but it was just awful and of

Interesting Venue. Dropped in whilst on shopping trip. Liked the atmosphere. Service was ok but not outstanding. Liked the look of the menue. The food we chose was well presented and very tasty. We will visit again probably having seen the menue, for an evening meal

TOP Restaurant in einer TOP Location !

Too many staff for the number people made me feel uncomfortable like being watched.

My daughter has always wanted to eat here and so it was a perfect reason to book a table to celebrate her 30th birthday. We turned up on time and we had some drinks at the bar before being shown to our table which was upstairs. The restaurant was very busy even though it was a Sunday lunchtime so I would advise anyone to book. The menu has many choices and also a drinks menu to choose from. There were six of us and chose a variety of starters and main courses. From avocado and duck egg to start, mussels, crayfish cocktail and whitebait through to mussels

Food was excellent, the building itself was also beautiful. The service was okay, if a little disinterested if I'm honest. It's not cheap but then you could tell how high quality the ingredients were for the food. Cocktails also a little average, wine menu needed a few more affordable bottles as well as the premium stuff

Wet and drizzly outside, warm and inviting inside. My friend and I had a wonderful lunch with you today rather than doing Christmas shopping. - Claire had the fish and chips (v elegant!) and I had the hake and chorizo. Both delicious and we had enough room to enjoy the crumble. Thank you for looking after us so well, and we're looking forward to another visit in the New Year.

The staff couldn't have been friendlier. Very accommodating of our dog and great service. Food was hot and delicious, pork/hake/veggie and the church building is lovely.

Went for a meal with a friend. Our waitress was very chatty and friendly, and the service was really good. My meal (scallops) was lovely. My friend had Partridge which was a little dry - she felt the way it was presented (on a board with cabbage served in a separate pan and potatoes in another dish) was fussy and said it made the meal difficult to eat. That frustrated her. Our pudding was great though. I'd definitely go again but I think that just putting food on a plate rather than presenting it on a board (especially when there is gravy involved) is probably a good idea!

Table for 1 upstairs was perfect for me. Very helpful staff, they even turned music down near me so I could sit, think and eat in solitary splendour. Delicious food, wine and coffee. Hope to revisit - alone or with friends.

Don't be mistaken by the exterior of the Bel & Dragon. Yes it was a church. And inside, you will find it cleverly converted to accommodate diners on the ground floor and additionally on a mezzanine. Foodwise, Bel is a chain of restaurants, and has worked its menu well. Something for every one I would say. We (3) were sharing the premises with a group of 7 or 8 young mums Birthday lunch, a group of dark suited business men, a couple who looked like they had just finished a country walk, and others. We were there for lunch, for which there was a lunchtime menu along with a la carte.Anyway, food was great, whitebait, fish pie, fried haddock, and partridge, followed by an exquisite sharing apple Tarte Tatin.Service was very good and attentive, food was great, surroundings novel and engaging.

Such a lovely building converted with class and an eye for detail.Wonderful barman, mixes great cocktails and is very friendly. The waiting staff are also very friendly if not quite as polished as at other restaurants in this price range. Sadly at 8pm on a Saturday neither of our first choices were left, then neither was my partner’s second choice. Third choice for her and second for me was not ideal. Still, the food we did get was very tasty, nothing exceptional, but solid enough. And the drinks flowed so all good.The cost was on the high side for the quality, but not massively so.Whilst not going to rush back we’ll probably return at some point, perhaps to try Sunday lunch?

Visited for a family birthday, the food was fantastic with a really diverse menu and everything sounded amazing! The staff were really welcoming without being overbearing! I will definitely be going back to sample the extensive wine list when I'm not designated driver!!

A disappointing visit to Bel and Dragon for Sunday lunch..the service was very slow and the food was not nearly up to the standard of previous meals eaten there. Most of the food served was either overcooked or cold, very unappetising.

Building was fantastic and loved the atmosphere. Staff were very attentive although the cocktails could have arrived faster.Food was very tasty and clearly they source good ingredients.Biggest disappointment was the crumble that had very little blackberries, virtually no custard for the size of portion and had the crumble very crunchy and probably overcooked. When we mentioned this to the waiter, we had no feedback from the chef and were just presented with the expected bill.

Me and my best friend visited here for brunch and 2 bloody Mary's... absoutlty gorgeous. Service from one of the managers and he was great...we had bubble and squeak with scrambled egg and bacon, 100% hangover cure and lovely hospitality, deffo going back :)

Sam and Adam were awesome!!! Besides of making great cocktails, they were super entertaining and fun!!! Esme, our waitress, very nice and thoughtful (she knew it was my daughter's bday celebration and brought enough brownies for the whole table with a bday message). Thanks!!!

We came here after a nice walk, we had booked a table. After being seated we had to ask for water 3 times! Finally we ordered roast chicken that we had had the week before at one of their sister restaurants, which was fantastic there! What can I say other than the same meal here was very disappointing the chicken was cold. The potatoes were so hard you'd break your teeth! The vegetables consisted of pak choy a weird choice for a roast!! Runner beans that had not been prepared just cut up. They were hard and chewy basically we spat them out! There was a small amount of sausage meat. Classed as stuffing! A watery gravy with little taste. Altogether very disappointing food. As for the service........... or the little that we received! It was very poor! No one came near us after our food was served! In the end I walked to the bar and complained. The young man grinned at me and presented my £73 bill!! I was so angry and very disappointed at this stage I choose to pay it and ask for the managers name. I will take this further! We will never ever go back here and I recommend others don't either! Terrible meal with discussing lack of service!

Although the staff are lovely service was slow and a few requests were forgotten. Had the Sunday roast beef meal followed by crumble. Both very bland. Wanted 175ml glass of wine instead of 125ml and obviously expected to pay the extra but they couldn't accommodate this request. Noticed when we got home we had been charged for something we hadn't had but as it was only four pound didn't pursue it further. Reasonable prices and typical food for these types of places. Noticed it is very child friendly, offers vegan options and as I said before lovely staff.

Went for dinner with friends group of 6 (3 couples)Ambience was lovely, old church conversion, good lighting.Delicious food however, ordered the lamb sharing platter for 2-3 (£70) & the beef sharing platter for 2-3 people (£70). Very disappointed in the portion size given the amount of money per meat dish. Only 4 of us shared both & only got a slice or 2 of meat. Left us still hungry n scrapping for sides of roast vegetables. We felt cheated, definitely not ordering that again!!

When Bel & the Dragon was originally opened in this old church building it was a really great place. Then a few years ago, something happened and it went downhill fast. So, we thought we would try it again, and I must say I was really very disappointed. The staff are. It that good, they have a poor selection of beer, and no butter at all and, worst of all the small selection of food on heir menu really is not good.I think it is safe to say hat we will not go there agin unless there is a very major change from the top down!Such a shame, because the building itself is lovely.

Went with my friend as heard great things. I was not disappointed with what I found! Had two glasses of the whispering angel off of the lunch menu (£6 bargain)!!! Then had the sea bass as picture, never order fish and I loved it! Can't wait to return soon to try something else out on the menu.

It was years ago we last visited Bel and the Dragon in Godalming. For a birthday dinner we thought we'd try it again. We always loved the building and decor and remembered that the place had some sort of buzz.Well, not anymore. Even though it was a Saturday evening, the restaurant was rather empty at the approximate 8pm slot. We thought this was odd.As we ordered we thought the dishes were rather on the expensive side. Brexit, anyone? No, joking aside, prices on the menu are really high for a place of this type and then they add the so-called service charge of 12.5% Which takes some rudeness to remove from the bill, really.So we had chicken and suckling pig as main course, respectively. Not bad although far from spectacular. The roast potatoes were tough to cut, in part because the "steak knives" had no serrated edges. Why not? Come on people, it's not rocket science......My house red was OK but cost £5 a glass (175ml) excluding service charge, again way too expensive. Leave alone the £9 for a glass of still French rose.All in all, I think it will be years (and years) before we go again. Will check press (and ***tripadvisor***) before going again.And oh yes. We booked the table through OpenTable. We arrived, identified ourselves and were shown the table we had booked. Not one of the better tables even though the place was not busy, as stated above (nor did it become so). To add insult to administrative injury, we received an email halfway the dinner that our reservation had been cancelled. Why oh why? Once home, we found there was a missed call to our landline around 30 minutes into our dinner. What is going on here? Can't get it right.

An amazing building to eat in and good service. The more wintery mains were good, above average meat and vegetables executed well. The tuna starter was visually beautiful but not quite on the mark flavour-wise, too many conflicting strong flavours in my opinion. Good, great in places but yet to great all round.

We went as a group of six. Food was great. Wine was great. Staff were great. All on all an excellent experience.

We hadn't planned to go to the 'Bel and Dragon' but with train disruptions and the tasty looking wine list we wanted to try the food. Friday night at 8pm having not booked we expected to wait. However, quiet enough they found us a table. This only benefitted us as the waitress and service was impeccable. We were offered a glass of fizz each when we sat down and a 'happy birthday brownie board' for dessert. This put a nice shine to the experience and was a gesture well received by my partner. As we were hungry we decided to pre-start with the squid nibble. Cooked perfectly. I then opted for the hefty sized Mussels for starters and at £9 a portion! As expected these were cooked precisely and really tasty. I know we are in Surrey and Godalming is affluent but £11 for starters is expensive for anyone. Also one little quibble would have been a warm finger bowl to clean my hands. My main was superb. I would highly rate the suckling pig! The piece pork was a thick and tender size and complimented well with the spiced apple chutney. The potatoes were soft yet crispy and the crackling finished the dish. Lacking in vegetables we ordered 2 sides to share. These at £4 a portion was a bit steep. But the cauliflower was yummy. My partner chose the Chicken Milanese which she wouldn't recommend. Flattened and breaded she thought it wasn't worth the price.The wine list is one of the main reasons I wanted to try this restaurant. The barman told us a few weeks back they had been voted one of the best wine lists in Surrey. Highly exciting for a wine trade professional like myself. We wanted a nice new world Pinot Noir and Felton Road is one of the best New Zealand producers. Again this followed the premium prices at over £60 but the wine was perfect with both our dishes. Be wary of the automatic optional 12.5% service charge added to the bill. We were in no confusion to get that removed and leave a cash tip. I would unequivocally eat again at the bel and dragon but when the bill came, I wouldn't make it a regular thing. Great food though!

Saturday lunchtime, rather quite but warm welcome and excellent service and food. Pulled pork in brioche a particular hit! Amazing venue which must be stunning at night, planning to go for cocktail masterclass. Artwork and birthday surprise particularly impressive. Thank you.

Had a delightful, leisurely lunch catching up with friends. The space is unique and we all remarked on the restful space and pace. The staff were attentive yet unobtrusive, the food beautifully presented and delicious and we all loved the fact that we could enjoy setting our own pace and could hear our conversation rather than overhearing others. The space between tables was generous. We shall be back. Thank you to all who made it such a pleasurable experience.

I have been here a number of times and it is a favourite of mine. It has the full package - brilliant food, polite and friendly service in a beautiful building. Highly recommend.

Another great night out at The Bel and Dragon in Godalming. Not the cheapest place, but good for the occasional treat or celebration.
