I like that it is open at 7. Happy with the food and prices.

We have just been in for our lunch. I ordered fish fingers and chips. The fish fingers were full of grey minced I assume fish. They were disgusting the worst that l have ever had. My Husband had Tuna salad. The Tuna was mixed with so much Mayonnaise it looked awful. There was so much lettuce and cucumber you couldn’t see anything else.. We both feel quite poorly now. We will never go back.

We going in there every time we in town. Great food excellent service.

best cafe in town, I have known frankie, his wife and his daughter for many years. I followed them from aldershot to farnham. the atmosphere is great, the friendliness is great, the service is great. what more would you need from a great cafe.

Have been working in Farnham all week and tried this place on the last day. Gutted I didn’t come here sooner. Everything was spot on and exactly what’s expected for the ‘local cafe’. Quick, delicious and prices are brilliant. It was busy and can see it’s loved by the locals as well. Will be my go to whenever I’m back to visit now.

I arrived in Farnham early morning and came to this place for breakfast. The service was very prompt and the food was nice.

Inexpensive, big portions, friendly staff.

We called in here as I had told my wife how reasonable the food was. When she saw the menu she was very impressed and ordered up her brunch accordingly. I went for the Gorge Special Breakfast which is not for the fainthearted. The amount of food you get is superb and cooked perfectly. Two Sausages, Two Bacon, Pile of Chips, thin Burger, Baked Beans and Bread & Butter. The only negative and its not a big issue is settling up at the end. You have to pay at the counter when you leave and basically you ask to pay and the person just says a figure and you pay. I never had a bill to check what we were paying for, or a receipt afterwards either. Quite odd really as the place does get busy and how on earth will they know what each table have had. I saw one lad get up halfway through eating his meal and just helping himself to a can of soft fizzy drink from the fridge and sitting back down, just like you were going to the fridge at home. Very bizarre and fraught with issues on accountability. Anyway it seemed to be good value and we just paid up what he asked for and left. Would certainly be back again but would question getting a bill to check against.

We visited the gorge while we were visiting Farnham for a wedding and we were not disappointed. The food was delicious and fresh and well cooked. The service was fantastic and restaurant cosy and welcoming.

Always great here; amazing value, nice staff and they've even recently done up the seats! Fancy!

I went for lunch and ordered Lasagne , it came up sloppy and swimming in some kind of soup like mixture , awful. Two days later I went in with my wife sat down and was given the menus and then ignored . I looked over the so called waitresses were drink a tea or something and joking . We got up and left and not even an acknowledgement on our departure . This place has really gone down and none of my family will be using the place again .

First time in Farnham and what a gem of a place to find.superb menu ,serviceable portions wow amaizing . The price was fantastic too, well done to everyone involved .

Well, knock me over with a feather!! I have found somewhere in Farnham that gives you great food at a very impressive price. We called in here on Wednesday lunchtime 14 August with quite a large family group and were given two tables for four people each which was perfect. Four adults and four children with one child in a high chair. Service was superb and the staff could not do enough for us. Three of the children had the Cheese & Ham Croissant which they loved. The youngest as he is only two just had a plain cheese sandwich. Adults had various types of Toastie's with chips. Before our meals all arrived drinks came over as per our order and everything was perfect. All the meals were just superb and such great value. I must say I was really tempted to try the Gorge Special as I had seen someone else tucking in but I resisted. However the Gorge Special consists of:- Two Rashers of Bacon, Two Sausages, Egg, Burger, Chips, Beans, Bread & Butter for just £6:70. Anyway without doubt I will call back again another time and will attempt the Gorge Special. All Main meals etc are literally just superb value. Info:- There is no parking assigned to this place. It is situated right on the traffic lights of The Borough & South Street. There are ample pay and display parking areas around Farnham. The Gorge building used to be The Old Deer Pub in Farnham and has had some changes actioned. The flooring has been levelled so that its easy access for wheelchairs, pushchairs and for those who just do not get on with steps. Overall I would highly recommend. The place inside is not stunning or picturesque but totally functional and cosy. Certainly give it a visit as the value is beyond comprehension. Thank you for an excellent visit.

Good honest food and proper prices. We both had panini. Packed with filling and very tasty. Other food looked superb too. We sat in covered 'garden' area as we had a dog. Staff are super nice too. Highly recommended 👌

Best cafe for good old school Full English breakfast (all day) for miles. Staff friendly and helpful, menu full of variety. Try Special breakfast no2 with tinned toms, bubble & extra egg. Great coffee. All round, great choice.

Breakfast excellence I think some people that have reviewed this place and given it a bad review are obviously in competition we went there last week for a breakfast the menu was flexible we ordered and the coffee was great all the staff that dealt with us were fabulous almost unheard in this generation the coffee was superb the food was pipping hot and of superb quality eggs nicely cooked mushrooms black pudding toast me and my partners breakfast was superb I enjoyed every single mouthful praise to the staff the place was spotless super clean and of I’m Back in the area I will be back a good old fashioned cafe that should be lauded not enough of them

Great food with excellent service.

Love the Gorge, a proper, old fashioned, caf. Excellent sausage, eggs, chips and beans and simple food. Not a posh restaurant but simple food and very good value (think my sausage/egg/chips/beans cost about £10). We used to call these a 'greasy spoon' - not many of these left and this one is great.

Excellent food, coffee, lovely staff. Very friendly, competitive prices, good location. Can be busy lunchtimes, but that's the price of success!

What an outstanding Cafe really quality food outstanding friendly staff

Try to enjoy a meal when you have people that think they are at the pub in the evening. The worst is the fact the owners see it and hear it, and don't do anything. Service was OK, but couldn't hear myself with the noise some people were making.

Over priced and the food portions were miliscule compared to a proper cafe. Won’t be coming back again. It’s a shame as I was recommended and was highly let down.

Pop in after work for a late lunch as as usual service is spot on can’t do enough for you normally order the Same thing for the last 30 yrs lol food was great as always great place to come would recommend it to anyone owners are lovely and always happy

Dreadful lunch...I ordered jacket potato with grilled chicken and avocado and it looked like a pile of dog meat on top of a flat potato. Chicken more like fried nor grilled. My son had a chicken burger and thinks he has food poisoning. Daughter had spaghetti bolognaise which was just slimy and greasy.

Eggs benedict with crispy bacon. Absolutely terrible looked nice but bacon had no flavour as well with the hollandaise sauce tasteless, Eggs were over cooked and the toasted muffin was soggy and only slightly warmed. I remember when the gorge used to be great but those days seem long gone. Staff were pleasant enough just the food really let it down, sorry but just giving my honest opinion

Decent breakfast, enjoyed by all of the party inc. one vegan. Americano could have been stronger but fresh OJ was exceptional.

I like this place. It is good, it is nice, it is great. The food was nice and the price was very reasonable. I think perhaps it might be my favourite place to grab a breakfast in this town. I think perhaps I am at my happiest in the company of some good friends and a plate of tasty food in front. I often feel lonely but Never have I felt glum at the Gorge.

My first time back since the Gorge moved from its old home in the Woolmead. Still very good. Will be back!

Nice restaurant, good service (waitress service, and we didn't wait long for our food to arrive). Ordered an omelette with two fillings, and an all day vegetarian breakfast - food was hot, and tasty.

The service was good , however it was one of the worst fish and chips that I’ve ever had . I didn’t expect much but that was a very low quality frozen food . I’m not going there again .

I’ve been in many cafes around the area and this one is if your having the gorge special breakfast was very dissapointing compared to the other places especially Aldershot’s cafes which are excellent. Great staff but food not so.

Old school colonel. Decent breakfast and lattes and considering its Farnham was good value too. Staff were pleasant and service was average. No changing items on the menu giving it four not five stars

Staff are rarther distant. Would benefit bit warmth in approach. Put a plates with food on the table and walked away just like that, not asking if everything was all right and if we needed anything else. Food decoration (Benedictine) very poor. No herbs, no lemon, just lonely two benedictines on the large white plate..

This place is a little Gem . No frills just excellent service , good wholesome food.served quickly and without fuss. Had lunch as well just as good but the breakfast is excellent .

Popped in for a light bite and coffee on Monday. Pleasant homely setting - quite unlike the chain coffee shops. Surprisingly reasonable prices, prompt service and tasty food. A bit how coffee shops were before the advent of the branded chains. Recommended!

Can't speak highly enough of The Gorge. Food is great, staff are helpful & welcoming and South St car park (Ringo) 2 mins walk away.

Always going in here, great spot to grab a sandwich or a full blown meal. You get a good meal at a fair price which is hard to find in farnham now.

Was attending Farnham for their next Town Crier selection to support a friend (he missed out but was robbed IMHO) and was recommended this café for a Full English and a cuppa. It didn't disappoint. Dont expect chincey table cloths etc - this place is more greasy spoon but none the worse for that. The menu was extensive and reasonably priced and the table service was fast and friendly. The Full English represented especially good value (photo appended) and tasted delicious. Shall visit again.

Good unpretentious food in Farnham.

A welcoming English restaurant with breakfast and lunch options. They serve pretty much all of the traditional English breakfast options, with a few variations also. Some of the food comes unseasoned as is the case with a lot of English food, but it's well prepared enough that it doesn't feel off at all. You can also add salt and pepper to your taste. The prices are perfectly reasonable, so much so that you could come here semi-regularly if you're a local. Overall, a great place to have a relaxing meal.

Came with with my teenage kids who wanted to "find a different cafe". We found this place, and it didn't disappoint. Vegetarian breakfast, normal breakfast and scrabbled eggs in toast were all delivered quickly and were spot on 👌🏻

Visiting Farnham, I needed hot tea and a nibble. It was very busy, yet they squeezed me in. Tea came fast delivered by smiling friendly staff. Big menu selection at good prices to choose from. I had liver, gravy, bacon and onions. Nicely cooked served with a big pile of chips. I left well fed. Thoroughly recommended. This cafe buzzes.

Pop in on Wednesday morning with son. Was welcomed by server who showed us to our table and few mins later ordered food and drinks not long before food turned up was very hot and so tasty having grill and gorge special food was value for money and portions wer great too. Nice little cafe in Farnham and always return owners are great.

We pop in for breakfast fairly often. Great food at good prices. All members of staff are so friendly. We never wait long for our food after ordering and we always have a pleasant meal.

This is possibly the friendliest cafe in Farnham. Family run and family friendly. Good honest food and a really good selection of food. The omelets are very tasty and the eggs benedict also very good. Great for breakfast or lunch.

Yes, very underrated. The menu is comprehensive, not expensive and easy to read ! We were there for lunch and it was busy. All the staff knew exactly what there job was, resulting in a quick service and, importantly, the food was hot. The Gorge was a lovely surprise as it's position and outside appearance suggested that it might be quite ordinary. It wasn't ! If you want a quick tasty lunch without the frills then this is it..........and the coffee's excellent.

Went in for breakfast and a cuppa. Totally ignore, but the locals were seen to right away.

My favourite is the Gorge Brunch Sandwich. Bacon, tomato, egg mayonnaise and I have mine toasted (this is not listed as an official upgrade!). This is not part of a restaurant chain, but run by local people. Good sized portions.
