I worked here before it was a countryside gastro, and the basics were better than 30 years ago. Monday meal deal was enjoyed by my parents but I opted for starter and chips. Both my son and I ordered fries and chunky chips which were recooked and inedible as burnt (I should have taken photos…) - £5 each for food that can’t really be eaten. Dessert menu over complicated and unappealing. Table (I’m sure tap?) water was also charged for as if it were bottled water…wow!

We had a fabulous meal here last week for my birthday. The food was delicious, freshly prepared, and beautifully presented. The staff were so friendly and had even put a Happy Birthday banner up on the fireplace next to our table. Such a lovely touch. We will definitely return. Can highly recommend!

Needed to stop somewhere whilst away working, and fell upon this little gem set in the middle of the country! Its quiet, peaceful and tasteful. The homemade pizza was too die for in the evening and the breakfast in the morning was absolutely superb. Even during these covid lockdown times they managed to accommodate very well, if I am this way again I will be sure to stay here again. 5*+++

One of the Weatchiefs pubs. Two of us ordered ham eggs and chips. What we received was terrible. It was a slice of ham out of a packet, 11 chips, and 2 eggs. The whole dish was cold. It's tasteless and not worth the money. No one asked if everything was OK at the table, and I can guarantee you that they were well aware of what they served up. It's not worth the money by any means.

We visited the Chequers for my wifes birthday in October 24 and were thoroughly impressed. We were therefore very shocked at the poor quality of last nights meal. The starters were good but the main courses were disappointing to say the least. The burgers my daughters had looked like something from McDonalds. Not at all what you would expect for an £18 gastropub version. My wifes veggie lasagne looked like it just came out of a microwave packet. We had to send the creamed spinach back as it was about 6 spinach leaves swimming in cream. And my Coq au vin was poor quality chicken and tasteless. When the waiter came over to ask if the meal was nice we gave an honest assessment, but it seems that feedback went as far as that. Won’t be coming back anytime soon. Not sure if the chef has changed since October but the quality of the food certainly has.

Visited this evening after hearing such good things. Sadly I didnt get to try the food. The all you can eat tapas isn't labeled & upon asking what was vegetarian I was told I could have chips, potato bravas and Mediteranian vegetables. At £25 a head I declined and we went elsewhere. Although the staff were lovely and twice offered to make me something from the main menu. I understand that veggie options will be limited, but I had certainly hoped for more than just chips or vegetables.

Being local to Eversley, we frequented this pub/restaurant up to Covid times but, since then,, we thought it had gone downhill and stopped going. However, our meal recently was very, very good ( the prawn starter, duck and sea bass) and we liked the look of the very fair priced limited menu on a Monday through Wednesday. Table service was excellent. Maybe we’ll return to the pub, ( but only if they increase the number of bar staff in early evening!)

Met up with friends for a quick meal before attending a local charity quiz night and the service was just amazing, Our server was really efficient and helpful and both food and drink were great. My crab cake and chips was tasty as was the chicken schnitzel and beef pie. We didnt have time for dessert but will return as this was just a lovely dining experience.

This pub is a jewel in the crown. The food is always consistent. The service is always good. The staff always friendly and the pub is always lovely and clean. The menus get changed regularly which means you never get bored and when it’s cold the fires are always on. This is a family run business and you can tell by the way it’s looked after it’s a free house so it gives you a better selection of drink ! and for the icing on the cake you can also stay at their hotel. They also do a great Sunday roast lunch. Definitely worth a visit.

Wow amazing cake in this lovely new café at plant centre near Hook. Can't rave enough about the cake I had and the lovely surroundings. Very beautiful. Highly recommend!

Be aware, Google says they close at 5.30 but we arrived on a lovely sunny afternoon at 4.35pm, to have a coffee and cake in the sun. But even though their cakes are on display right in front of you, they won't serve you anything after 4.30pm. What a shame, they're missing out on sales there, we went to The Wellington Arms instead and had lovely coffee and cake!
