Booked a table having viewed the menu online which looked quite good for three people well in advance on a Wednesday evening. Pleasant enough greeting and showed to our table and given the menu. We were then told that one of the staters and two of the mains were not available. We ordered our starters and mains. Then we were told that one of the starters that two people had ordered was also not available. I changed mine for soup and my friend declined a starter. The soup was lukewarm and my other friends soup was the same. I had linguine for my mains which was also lukewarm bland and very gooey. Both my friends had king prawns which came floating in a bowl in some sort of unappetising liquid. They looked like they had come from a supermarket packet. Both my friends tasted them and they weren’t impressed. Then we ordered dessert only to be told that the one dessert I would have ordered wasn’t available. Awful as far as I’m concerned especially for a midweek as they weren’t very busy. Won’t go again and it wasn’t cheap either. Shame as it looks a really nice place.

Thought we would try this "Gastro Pub" with friends. Pub it certainly is judging from the crowded bar, the restaurant however was not more than 10% full which perhaps tells you a lot about this place. Being a Fullers Pub we expected better. The food was very basic and extremely overpriced and we gave up after one course. The service was slow, unprofessional and the waiter was not visible most of the time hence long delays. When he did appear he was not friendly, informative or interested in engaging with diners. Such poor service is not acceptable for the prices being charged from a menu lacking in variety and quality. We do not recommend and will not be returning and they charged £7.50 for a pint of IPA absolutely outrageous.

We were at a family farewell Sunday Lunch and we all ordered the roast -- normally a safe bet at any establishment. The quantity was amazing, but the quality was missing: the single carrot and parsnip had been overcooked so much they looked similar; the cauliflower cheese resembled rice pudding and did not taste of either constituent; the cabbage was wilted to a mush and the roasties were indescribable. The only saviours to the meal were the chocolate brownie, good service and a great G&T. I would have complained, but I did not want to upset the ambience of the farewell lunch. My mistake, because I do like to make negative/positive comments at the time!!

We’ve been in a few times for a drink - very friendly - lots of locals, always feel welcome. Decided to try the restaurant and the food was excellent. Home-made croquettes to start with followed by ham egg and chips and chicken supreme and mash. Large portions of high quality food. Lovely ambience in the restaurant. Wii be back

As leader of a walking group we had submitted an advanced food order for 17 adults at 1.30pm on a Saturday. Our reserved table was in a very spacious area at the far end of the pub with the wooden floors and high timber beamed ceiling creating a lovely atmosphere. The food itself was loved by most of the group and I can personally recommend the fish, chips and peas. Unfortunately, those who had ordered the fish pie found it too salty and the same went for the pie of the day. The person opposite me receiving the Sri Lankan curry had it served in a dish where the rim was ultra wide but the actually recepticle area for the food itself was comparatively small leaving my fellow walker feeling underfed. These experiences by 5 of our group means i can't give the pub 5 stars despite the lovely surroundings and the staffs best efforts in serving us. I'd still give the Frog and Wicket the thumbs up for other walking groups so long as they can supply a food order 1 week in advance.

10 of us had a late Sunday lunch, The service throughout was unprofessional and embarrassing. The main courses took over an hour to arrive some were just OK others were stone cold, no additional sauces were available. 1 pudding was served without a spoon and the remainder half an hour later, again without spoons. Just got fed up of waiting and having to ask for simple things. Talking of simple things, that sums up the attitude of the very young waiting staff who had nobody in charge.

We had booked a table but arrived 30 minutes early to be told that they had sold out of roast chicken at 4pm on a Sunday. It was the main reason we booked as don’t eat much pork or beef. There were no other chicken options available so we chose to leave and went to Sainsbury’s for a cook ourselves dinner Wouldn’t return due to a limited menu

We love this place for a drink or two after work or at the weekend but called in Friday evening for the Fishy Friday offer - order two Fish & Chips and get a free bottle of selected wine! Absolutely brilliant - the fish was fantastic, a monster size portion, it was massive fresh and delicious washed down with a bottle of Shiraz! Loved it, super tasty - great offer and great value! Great staff as well - thanks guys 🤩 🐟

We booked a table for 9 people for Sunday lunch. When we arrived, we were told there was no booking and were even asked for the evidence that we had made the booking in the first place and that we had received a confirmation (which I provided). I was highly embarrassed as The Frog & Wicket left us stranded. Fortunately The Chequers (just over the road) were able to accommodate and provided excellent food and service. If you are looking for outstanding food and service, I highly recommend The Chequers.

Had lunch with my wife and two grandchildren and I would sadly say that over the six years we've been going to 'The Frog' the prices and steadily increased and the quality of the food has slowly gone down. A few years ago you would get coleslaw and a small salad with the burger and chips and... I am sure the burger was bigger too. Now it's costs £17.50 and is just a burger (with a few bits in) and frozen chips, no side salad, no coleslaw, not even any gherkin in the burger. Chips described as 'thrice cooked' or whatever are still the basic frozen jobs, crisp on the outside, mash in the middle, standard cheap pub fare. Kid's burger and chips £8.50, is even more basic, a dry bun (with nothing else) and chips. Thinking of Burger King or McD's my grandson said "It's a bit boring, could have just had some lettuce or a tomato." Out of the mouths of babes...

Went for Sunday lunch to celebrate my wife’s birthday. Nice broad menu with a couple of specials as well. Service very good. Food arrived hot and good sized portions. Only downside, and it’s very small, is that they had run out of English mustard. It wasn’t exactly a disaster, but how do you completely run out and why doesn’t someone pop to a local supermarket and buy a few jars? I would definitely recommend this place for a nice meal.

What a great find . A cosy wet stormy evening we ended up coming across this charming pub. The locals were all cheeky and welcoming. Maybe because we was stood out in the rain trying yo hid under umbrellas to have cigarette , when one laughing local came out and told us there's a smoking shed round the back. I'm guessing he felt sorry for us. 🤣🤣. The beer was tasty and the food huge portions and delicious . Be aware this pub gets unbelievably busy when there is cricket on the opposite field . Not been here for many years and it has had a complete makeover for the better. The eating area and bar are well presented as was our fish and chip meal. The service was quick, pleasant and efficient and judging from the number of lunchtime diners this is a popular venue for an informal meal. My only reservation was that the menu did not seem to have enough alternative meat dishes, but we were very satisfied with our meal.

We have been coming to this pub for years. It used to serve excellent food.. good hearty pies, burgers etc. It was one of my favourites. I’m not sure what happened but a few years ago they changed the menu.. what a mistake that was. We were some of the first customers to sample the new menu and were asked for feedback. My feedback at the time was that the portions were far too small for main courses. That coming from a person who is quite petite and doesn’t eat lots of food should tell you everything. We thought we would give it another go last night. They clearly didn’t listen to the feedback as it was ridiculous. My main was two tiny bits of salmon and eight cubes of potato ( two small potatoes cut up) with the tiniest side salad all for £16. I ate it in five minutes and was still hungry afterwards. My husbands steak was inedible- he sent it back- £26.50. To be fair the waitress was excellent- she apologised and took it off the bill.We will not be returning to this pub until they change the menu/ chef and sort out their potion sizes. Tip for the pub managers- sit down- have one of your own meals and ask yourself if you would be happy to pay the prices you charge for the quality and amount of food on the plate- I can guarantee the answer will be no. Get back to what you were good at- decent hearty pub grub!!!

We visited the Frog and Wicket to celebrate a family birthday and were served by Maddie, who was accommodating, friendly, warm and charismatic. We really enjoyed the food, everything was nicely presented and tasty (can happily recommend the chicken kiev). But overall it was Maddie's friendly service that gave us a lasting impression and would be the reason we'd return. She's a credit to your business. Really disappointed with our Sunday lunch at the Frog and Wicket. It was generally just not very good - the food was average at best and looked like it was pre-cooked some time before then warmed up. All the food was cold though, as were the plates. Service was very slow. Not at all what I’d hoped for a roast beef lunch costing just shy of £18. Such a shame - hope it was just a one off, bad day for them.

We had the unfortunate experience of visiting at Saturday lunchtime and the food was awful and the service not great either. Upon arrival we were shown to our table outside, which isn't a pretty courtyard or anything, just table and chairs. I had to go in and collect the menus, including the drinks menu. No cutlery at our table either, this had to be asked for when the food was delivered. Little varierty on the menu and no specials either. Extremely overpriced menu for what was delivered. I ordered the bruschetta; the smallest, thinnest piece of sourdough I've ever seen; 2 chopped tomatoes and they weren't Isle of Wight ether as advertised - no flavour at all, a few capers and black olives - £6.75, it arrived with a nice hair in it, so I had to send that back and I'd also ordered Buffalo Chicken Wings, no chicken, just skin soaked in a sweet, spicy sauce covered it what only can be described as rise crispys, these were £7.00 - we had to leave them as they were inedible.

On my first venture to eat out since March, on 19 September I went here with my husband and two friends. The food, service and Covid precautions were all first class. However as a Coeliac I explained to the very charming server that I needed my meal to be free of gluten and careful attention to cross contamination. I was assured this was no problem. Within 30 minutes of leaving I realised I had been given something containing gluten. I had 24 hours of upset stomach followed by 24 hours of severe back and stomach pain followed by almost two weeks of extreme fatigue and brain fog. This will be familiar typical side effects to an attack on the auto immune system of a Coeliac. I private messaged the Frog and Wicket within a couple of hours to ask them to investigate. No response. I then messaged again when I began to feel better. Still no response. As of today, 9 October I have had no response. In my opinion it would not be wise to eat here if you have Coeliac disease.

I have been trying to use this place for the last few weeks now but it’s not going to work. This is a shame because it’s a decent place, good setting and staff are polite it is just not run correctly. I don’t know if it’s a temporary stand in manager or not but by the way it’s run it would appear so. There have been a number of times I have turned up on week nights at 9.30 and the doors are locked. The website states that the pub shuts at 11pm. Saturday which is yesterday I was there and we were told it was last orders at 10.20pm. This was a shock as it was a warm evening and there was still plenty of people drinking. There were 3 full tables of people all trying to enjoy a Saturday evening. I’m pretty sure that any other pub in the country would see that amount of customers worth staying open for. This is what makes me assume this is a temporary manager. They obviously close at the 1st chance possible which says to me the don’t take much pride in their job. I would happily return if the place were to be run properly but until then I won’t. You can’t make your way out somewhere in the hope it’s open or if it is when you get there it could shut anytime. If you advertise hours stick to them. Terrible management a disgrace to the fullers name!!

My family and I have come here on many occasions for both drinks after a dog walk, Sunday lunch or special occasion dinner and have never been disappointed so don't judge based on the particularly bad reviews I have just read on 1st March; they must have been a one off and unavoidable catering issues maybe. The kids menu was only two options and the pub had run out of pies. The pubs fryers are not working, so in an English pub that reduces the menu overnight. Although I have sympathy about this, what was disappointing is that the pub didnt think to ring its customers that had booked to tell them. We phoned the chequers next door and had a lovely meal.

On top of that we were bothered by a drunken old man, who having already stumbled along to us once, then reappeared with a full pint to do the same again, sitting alongside us making obscene comments. Great selection of well kept Fuller's beers. Warm and welcoming pub, but keep clear of the food. A warmed up (microwaved?) economy pie, a spoonful of mash and another spoonful of greens isn't my idea of a main course costing £14:50. As for the haddock kedgeree it was more a question of 'where's the haddock' When this was pointed out to the server he shrugged and said 'that's the portion'. £15:00 ?

The restaurant is light and bright and, having ordered at the bar, the drinks and food are brought to your table. The prices are about average although named wines are above average.

Went for a catch up with two friends and all 3 of us had really good tasty meals. I had the pot roast hake which was delicious. Price was very reasonably and our server jack was friendly and welcoming. Will be going back soon

Friendly pub with good restaurant (from reviews & from how busy the actual restaurant was with families), a good range of real ales (& gins) and a sun-trap (even in March) of a beer garden. Interesting mural on the wall in the gents - unable to look at some of the locals in quite the same way when returning to the bar!

Had a family lunch here, the food was mostly ok, but considering we all pre ordered our food, it took over an hour for mains and even longer for dessert. Not impressed at all, so won’t be back.

We thought we would treat our mum to a roast dinner at a local restaurant/Pub but left feeling we had paid much more than we wanted, for food we could have done better ourselves. We paid £70 deposit and when we arrived we didn't get seated till 30 mins after our booking time. At first, we were placed on a table for 6 people with a spare seat rammed in the middle to accommodate the 7th person, despite there being a spare table for 8 people. We then moved to this table thankfully. The service was fast and we all ordered roast dinner. The beef was not to some peoples liking as it was quite raw and a request was not taken when ordered. The roasted carrot was incredibly hard you could bearly cut it, not to mention the soggy potatoes. The lamb had huge lumps of unrendered fat that were off-putting. The place looked nice and had friendly staff, but it was just a shame that the food was not up to scratch. Puddings were good, the salted caramel ice cream was completely over salted it was uncomfortable to eat. It was then £30 per person for two meals, plus drinks that just weren't worth that much. The only good thing was the mothers day gift they gave which was ingredients for a gin and tonic and a voucher for a free one at the pub. This was a lovely idea and was a great touch.

Last night we hired the skittle alley at the Frog and Wicket in Eversley to celebrate , in a less formal way,our 50th wedding anniversary. The venue is separate from the pub and provides a bijou space for an evening of fun. The bar person was a charming young lady and although we had taken our own wine ( paid corkage) served us with a smile at every encounter. The food was good but not a large amount. It was charged per head and although we had hired the venue some years before the format had changed. All in all we had a fun evening and no washing or clearing up!! Thank you all at F&W;.

A surprise birthday celebration for a close friend where the layout and facilities at the pub contributed to a very successful evening. The staff were friendly and helpful and the bar service very prompt when we went for top ups! The buffet was good, distinctive flavours with excellent crudités if you're in tot that sort of thing!

Our first visit to the Frog and Wicket was excellent. Service was very good, our server was very attentive without being ‘too much’. A lovely atmosphere, lighting in the restaurant was just right. We all enjoyed our meals, too full to try the puddings!

Reasonable selection of well priced food and wine with a few specials to choose from. Our group had some very good mains and desserts bar the lamb kofta that was seriously overcooked and inedible and the sticky toffee dessert which was a bit dry with insufficient toffee syrup and ice cream. Service was friendly and efficient even on a busy Saturday evening.

We were a party of ten for lunch. Our table was very spacious with plenty of room for everyone - not crammed in! The service was fast, friendly and very personal. The food was great - the salmon was very tasty. Extra chips were provided for the children.

A group of us went to play skittles for which the venue is OK. However, we made the mistake of ordering food. Most people had the £10 'skittles' menu. It was diabolical. I had a burger it was miniscule, overcooked and yet luke warm at best. The skinny fries were overcooked and cold also. No salad not even garnish just rubbish burger in a pappy bun. My wife had fish and chips. Again tiny fish overcooked and cold. Many people had the same issue. I complained and was told that the skittles menu are smaller portions than the bar menu. I do notice that one can buy a 6oz aberdeen angus beef burger in Tesco for £1.30 so I see no reason for a paltry serving.

We have regularly visited The Frog and Wicket and had fabulous meals and service, hence the reason I booked it tonight for a family celebration. We arrived at 6.30 for a 6.45 table. We were at the back of the restraunt and it was very cold. The service was the poorest we have ever received. The staff almost seemed disinterested in us. We booked early as we had our 3 year old grandson with us but waited ages for our order to be taken, waited 1 hour between starter and main course and had ask for desert menu and main meal plates to be cleared. When it came time to pay there was no one to be seen so we had to go to the bar to settle the bill, whichever actually did at 9.55pm so much for an early booking! Food was tasty but what a shame the kitchen are being let down by the front of house. We won't rush back sadly which is a shame as we really like the place. Not sure what's gone wrong but hope you get it sorted out.

Came to Frog & Wicket as a venue for dinner as I drive past quite regularly and it always seems busy which is often a good sign. Arrived on time and were offered drinks at the bar. The pub was very busy and noisy, on the brink of rowdy but we were shown to our table and we were in a busy spot. Young children running through the restaurant area from a private party were a distraction. Dinner was ok, I have to say it was nothing more as I was disappointed with my choice of the lamb. It was pricey and I expected more. Fellow diners were reasonably happy but not ecstatic about the venue or the food. It is pricey for essentially pub food. Service was also a bit slow but again it was a very busy evening so I can forgive that. Overall, would I return? Probably not in a hurry sadly!

I went to the Frog yesterday for lunch with a friend. We only wanted a sandwich but when I asked if it was nice crusty bread was told it was very basic bread, so we declined. People want much more than this these days. We had the steak pie which was quite nice but the 'vegetables' were a joke - the smallest portion of cabbage you can imagine (about half a leaf) and nothing else, it would be pushing it to even call it a portion. We eat out a lot and I have never seen such a pathetic offering of vegetable(s). Such a shame as I live a 2 minute walk from the pub and we could make it our regular but this won't be happening, there are much better pubs locally. The only redeeming feature was the friendly waitress!

Our first visit as fairly new to the area. Very welcoming, friendly, helpful staff. Enjoyed looking at the cars as it was a Motor fest event. Food was lovely, my husband had the pie of the day and I enjoyed roast beef. Will definitely be returning. Great country location near the Basingstoke canal.

Wonderful food and excellent service that was marred by the low room temperature. Needing to keep my jacket/coat on whilst having Sunday Lunch simply spoils the experience> This is such a shame because the food itself is great
