Needed to stop somewhere whilst away working, and fell upon this little gem set in the middle of the country! Its quiet, peaceful and tasteful. The homemade pizza was too die for in the evening and the breakfast in the morning was absolutely superb. Even during these covid lockdown times they managed to accommodate very well, if I am this way again I will be sure to stay here again. 5*+++

We had a delicious lunch but were extremely taken aback by the bill. The lunchtime special, advertised as a starter and a main for £15.50,yielded a bill of nearly £80 although that did include 2 glasses of wine and 2 coffees. BE WARNED 'mains' does not refer to main courses, only those, designated 'mains' on the menu. Whilst the pub has done nothing wrong, this needs to be highlighted on the menu. Judging by the comments from the waitress, we were by no means the first customers to be led up he garden path in this way. Such a pity that, after a really delicious meal,we left with a sour taste in our mouths!

An eclectic, comfortable dining room with super friendly and accommodating staff, this compact family run historic hotel produces locally grown produce including delicious Cumberland sausages and free range eggs from down the road, as part of the Full English breakfast - as well as Basque specialties such as the San Sebastian : grilled bread, home made tomato sauce and olive oil, served with or without scrambled eggs. A full array of fruits, cereals, yoghurt are also laid out to choose from. For dinner, a couple of stand outs were the cream of broccli/stilton soup , Greek salad, and if you're lucky, owner Peter Ormond will take over the kitchen from Lourdes, to produced one of the best pizzas I've had in a long time.. Peter also procured the perfect nicoise olives that studded the top along with my choice of anchovies and Basel...the dining room looks out onto a charming courtyard resplendent with lush grape and passion flower vines, anchored by a remarkable olive trees at its heart.. a great place to sit for one of Peters perfectly crafted cocktails before dinner. Try his Negroni, made from one of a selection of artisan gins on offer.. I highly recommend a stay at this historic hotel, especially if you are passing through Eversley in 2019, when the Kingsley plays host to a two day festival celebrating the 200tg birthday of Victorian Author Charles Kingsley (The Water Babies).

Lovely courtyard on entry and a warm welcome from Peter Robinson. The lounge/dining area is a very interesting room, nice furniture and pleasant soft lighting. I personally loved all the different pieces of art, maps and antiques etc. We stayed in two different rooms over two separate weeks and both rooms were very nice. Newly decorated and stylish furniture. Comfortable and warm. I loved the style and tiles in the bathrooms (with large showers). Breakfasts were very good and some nice options. Music played in the dining area morning and evening which we enjoyed. A very pleasant start to a busy day. All the staff/owners were very pleasant and attentive. Peter Robinson particularly attentive and interested in making your stay a good one. We didn’t have our evening meal there but are planning to on our next visit!

My missus booked the Kingsley restaurant area for a few hours one Saturday, to throw a surprise afternoon tea party for her parents' 60th wedding anniversary. We arrived in good time to set up banners, balloons, the cake and other party accoutrements, before the guests arrived and then the happy couple. I think there were about 28 of us in the end, with plenty of space in the restaurant for all of us, but with access to another quieter room if we needed it. Peter, Peter and everyone else involved couldn't have been more helpful to make the event a success. The food was perfect - lovely mini-sandwiches, quiches, cakes kept flowing - and there was an endless supply of tea. The bottles of Basque cider hit the spot too. A thoroughly enjoyable afternoon that the Diamond couple won't forget in a hurry.

I had the most delightful dinner at the Kingsley last night! Can you imagine a Basque taster menu in Hampshire?! And on top of that, the hospitality, those lovely owners, -everything made the evening so special. We finished the night with wine in the courtyard, strung with lit bulbs, and centred by an olive tree, and it was the best end to the best meal I have had in ages.

family of 9 with 2 children and the dog came too. Peter and Peter couldn't do enough to put on a splendid pizza evening in the dining room leading to Courtyard. Beautiful warm summer night and made special by their attention. Very good Pizza cooked to order with good selection of toppings; jugs of Pimms and Sangria went down well. Nicely cooked breakfast. Grandson asked for salami.....and he duly was rewarded. All in all a great place to relax and enjoy

I had breakfast and dinner here. The breakfast was a perfectly cooked English breakfast and so comforting and for dinner I had beetroot and feta cheese pasta with a side salad and it was so delicious I didn't leave a corner of the plate dry. The staff were very attentive and really sweet and lovely people.

We booked for the Sunday lunch with magician for an early Mothers Day celebration. There were 4 adults and 4 children in our group. On arrival we were seated in a lovely room which was decorated nicely and felt comfortable. The staff were welcoming and friendly. We enquired as to which ales were available and on choosing these, they were brought to our table in their sealed bottles, we had to then ask for glasses and a bottle opener (which we were given, but were left to open the bottles ourselves!) We proceeded to look through the menu and placed our order. We ordered starters for all 4 adults and the older 2 of the children. We also ordered the main courses but asked for the mains for the two younger children (aged 3 and 2) which consisted of one children's roast and a bowl of pasta, to be brought out at the same time as the starters so they could also begin their meals. We also ordered a bottle of wine, which arrived without any glasses so we had to ask for those. The starters arrived in a timely manner, however the two main courses for the children didn't arrive as requested. When we queried the lack of food for the children we were told that they had been forgotten but now the chef was preparing food for another table so he would do our missing meals when he had finished the next table. The soup was bland and really thick, two of the portions didn't get eaten. The mushroom starter was fine although it was one small mushroom filled with couscous and for this size portion I feel was overpriced. We finished our starters (still no sign of the children's meals) and sat with our empty plates for 20 minutes before some (but not all) of them were cleared. We then sat for around a further 20 minutes waiting for the main courses. (Still no sign of the children's meals) Eventually the adults food arrived (oh, and still no sign of the children's meals) and unfortunately I cannot really say anything good about it, except the gammon was nice. The Yorkshire puddings were awful, burnt on the outside and a strange uncooked doughy consistency on the inside. We sent the first one back as it looked like blancmange but the replacement was no better. The nut roast was odd, maybe that was just down to my taste but the other diner with us who had the nut roast didn't eat hers either. The chicken and leek pie tasted nice but the sauce inside it was split. Most of the veg was overcooked, except the roast potatoes which were undercooked and tasted of oil. (Oh, and one of the children's meals still hadn't arrived, which was the pasta.) Eventually, when the entire table had almost finished, a bowl of rubbery, inedible pasta was served to our extremely patient 3 year old guest, minus the garlic bread that should have come with it. All in all, the food and speed/coordination of service was a real let down. On the plus side, the magician was very good and we all thoroughly enjoyed his entertainment. The setting and interior was very pleasant. The toilets were superb, very spacious, modern and clean, however in such a large ladies toilet it really would have benefitted from a baby change as it is very difficult to stop a 2 year old from walking about when you are trying to change them! Anyone with a younger baby would have to change them on the toilet floor instead. I have to give credit to the lady and gentleman on the front of house though. They were genuinely interested in our comments and even took notes to escalate the issues. They removed some items from our bill as a gesture of goodwill and we left satisfied with the way they dealt with it and the outcome but very disappointed with the food experience. This place could be wonderful, however it has a long way to go at the moment to achieve it's potential.

Loved the Mediterranean twist to the brunch. Good choices and healthy options! Thank you! Restaurant decor had plenty of interesting items to look at ...most of them having quite a story behind them.

The food at The Kingsley is always excellent. Breakfasts with a Spanish twist are healthy and inventive. Traditional Sunday lunch is great value. Dinners always offer variety for a small price and the quality of the Spanish wines are exceptional. Give The Kingsley a try you won't be disappointed.

Only had food here, didn't stay, but it was excellent. Sunday roast beef and my wife had the sea bass. The only thing I might suggest is that they offer a steak knife with the roast beef as I think it was a sirloin(sounds odd but I think that's what it said) and quite hard to cut with standard knife. Like the slate (?) running through the tables, too. Will be back👍🏻

Congratulations is in order here, to be in CAMRA Good Beer Guide is a badge of honour, This is one pub that deserves it as the beers are always Tip Top Condition. As a fairly regular customer here ive seen the growth of Ale drinkers coming into the pub, and always great comments on the condition of the Ale, also always a fantastic selection to be sampled. Bottoms Up Steve and Staff, well deserved Coach And Horses.

This is the second time in as many weeks and both times they have been great with my 2 year old, bringing out crayons, a biscuit or lolly pop. Lovely ladies in there, I would recommend their delicious cakes.

The food is good. I tried the yummy mango and apple cake with mocha. The service is outstanding. They have indoor and outdoor seating.
