Only had food here, didn't stay, but it was excellent. Sunday roast beef and my wife had the sea bass. The only thing I might suggest is that they offer a steak knife with the roast beef as I think it was a sirloin(sounds odd but I think that's what it said) and quite hard to cut with standard knife. Like the slate (?) running through the tables, too. Will be back👍🏻

Popped in for lunch. I opted for a rib eye steak that came perfectly medium rare, as requested. Washed down with a pint of London Pride ale. It came with crispy fries, mushroom and a well cooked tomato. My partner chose salmon supreme from the specials board. Chicken supreme is on the main menu. The salmon was perfectly cooked, not over done. The supreme sauce was supremely tasty. The chef certainly knows what they are doing. Warm, friendly service.

Just food and drink here. Excellent pub fare and a decent selection of beers. Outside tables in the sun are unrivaled

Came in for a Sunday roast and was not disappointed. The staff were really knowledgeable and helped out with dietary options. The roast was excellent, really good roast beef dinner and a great vegan Wellington. Really accommodating with customising the desserts and a well made coffee to finish, with non dairy alternatives too.

Just met up with some friends for afternoon drinks, it was perfect for that occasion.

We stayed for one night and stayed in Hunter room. The room was very spacious, clean and well equipped, bed was extremely comfortable and had a nice big bathroom. Staff were all friendly and helpful and the food (both breakfast and dinner) was very nice and freshly cooked. Coffee was amazing too!! Would definitely stay again and would recommend staying at the Red Lion. The manager was very attentive.

One of the best Bacon Cheeseburgers I've ever had. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere. Definitely recommend. :-) Didn't stay in the hotel so I cannot comment.

We visited on Monday and received a warm welcome from Rosa. It’s a lovely pub and a good menu. Rosa served us throughout our visit and I have to say she was amazing. So helpful and friendly. Definitely 5 stars.

What a find! We stayed there on a room, bed and breakfast deal. Everything was excellent. My girlfriend is gluten free and this is the first pub she has been to that actually tries to mirror the normal menu with a GF menu. The food was superb. It was a Saturday night, so the pub was packed and the team were busy, but well trained and always polite. Super impressed.

Had a lovely meal , The food was of excellent quality, nice atmosphere and decor inside , the hostess , was very nice, polite and helpful, only thing that let it down for us was the young waitress with the glasses, no warmth or friendly approach at all, in fact, the very opposite, she clearly doesn't enjoy her job/ working with customers? . Very curt towards us and I had noticed with other customers too. Shame as otherwise couldn't fault it. Will return .

We use this establishments for coffee every now and then. Never been let down always serves a great brew. Staff very helpful. The place oozes ambiance especially during the winter months, when a cup of coffee by the wood burner is special.

A fair way from use, but return every-so-often s it never disappoints - great interior, lovely food, good service, always busy.

This is such an excellent venue and food I was going to keep my comments to myself!!! Service was so friendly, caring and promptly professional and the food was amazing both in itself, quantity and presentation. One couldn’t ask for better and we’ll be visiting again.

We had a great 1st visit on Friday evening. Relaxed friendly atmosphere, service was great and the food was delicious. Added bonus that it’s dog friendly too . Looking forward to the next visit.

Delicious Sunday roast with GF option which was a treat - especially the Yorkshire pudding. The sticky toffee pudding and brownie were amazing and friends couldn’t notice that they were both GF too. Great idea to serve all GF on pink plates as made it easy to share safely and was very reassuring. I wish more places did the same! Thanks to the chefs, we will be back.

The best roast I have had in years. Nice selection of veg, beautifully cooked and piping hot! The service was brilliant and so friendly!

Literally passing through and stopped for an impromptu Sunday lunch. What a find! Although it was busy we got a table no problem. The service is top notch and the menu offered many options. We both had the roast and it was excellent. Good portion sizes and a lovely selection of seasonal veg. Plenty of gravy which is always a good sign. Managed to squeeze in a couple of desserts too! Would recommend this pub .

Very good choice of gluten-free food, including gluten-free vegetarian. I had a few things to choose from that suited my dietary requirements. The food was very nicely cooked, although the kale was a bit chewy. If you're a good cook, then it's not as good as home-cooked, but much better than your average pub food. I'm not really a fan of places that add an automatic service charge to the bill. This place adds an extra 12.5%. No other negatives.

Best burger ever. It is a bit more pricey than the average, but the food really is top quality. Highly recommended for the cozy atmosphere as well.

Went here with friends for a meal. Service was great and food all delicious. I had the seabass and it was a perfect size and cooked well with a lovely mix of flavours. Finished off with cocktails, all of which were great and reasonably priced. I prefer to eat veggie when out as I live with meat eaters and I was though disappointed the only options were quiche or vegetable pie. If you’re not keen on pastry or trying to be healthy, then a vegetarian can’t eat off the menu at the moment. This is a shame when the world has moved on so far from the inevitable pastry or aubergine-based vegetarian options of the past.

A friend and I had lunch last Friday and chose the soup of the day which we were told was leek and potato, we were warned it was very peppery. Sorry to say it was extremely peppery and did not taste of leeks or potato, just green hot liquid. I did mention my concerns and was told they would be passed on but never had any feedback.

My friend and I both had the roast beef it was lovely. Portion size was good and staff were friendly also. We will definitely be back again.

Pleasant meal and good service on a Saturday evening but at 9.30pm when our dessert plates were cleared, we were told that there was no coffee as they had closed and cleaned the coffee machine. It was a shame as we left feeling disappointed.
