We met with family en route to holiday, it was perfect - team were welcoming, parking easy, dog friendly, food was great and service excellent.

Excellent fry up and flat white.

Great breakfast, well cooked, quick service and good portions, well presented. No black pudding, but I can forgive them that. All in all, a good place to eat.

First time of going here as it’s 10 miles from where we live but we really struggle to find somewhere to go for a nice breakfast. First impression small but spotless. A young man (Ben) welcomed us and asked if it was our first time and explained how it work and gave us menu’s. I went to the counter to order we had two breakfast’s which Ben explained came with a hot drink we had a latte and a mocha. While Ben made our drinks he made polite conversation with me and made sure he didn’t have his back to me which I found very thoughtful of him, his customer service was excellent he is an absolute asset to you. He explained that the food is always made to order and fresh and had great knowledge of the food. When he bought our breakfast over it was presented lovely. It was cooked perfectly and everything tasted great. The drinks were also lovely. We found it very good value. The food and drinks were great the real standout for me was Ben and his customer service. We will definitely be back, and we will definitely be recommending this place.

They made ONE more change than they normally would on my breakfast, and that made all the difference to our experience. Great food and EXCELLENT value!

Top notch and top nosh - my favourite is the CJ Special wrap with mouthwatering vegan sausages, hash brown (yes, inside the wrap), 🥑 and 🥗, served with coleslaw and more hash browns if you so desire. The staff are lovely - friendly and patient. What’s not to like?

Great atmosphere, food and beverage were lovely. Good prices as well as lots of choice.

Popped in for a breakfast +pot of tea included in the price. Swapped my mushroom for an extra hash brown no problem. I was able to sit outside in the sunshine where my breakfast arrived quicker than I expected being the cafe was very busy. Well done to all involved I will be back and highly recommend.

We went there as a family for breakfast. We ordered the hearty breakfast. The sausage we got were different to everyone elses. It was dense and sour. We first thought they had changed the brand as we have been there before. But on seeing other orders come through we had been given different sausages.The toast was burnt on both sides and our lattes were warm. We were not given sugar with our drinks. All in all it was just a bad experience. The young lad behind the till was sweet though.

I've tried using the pre order collection service on 3 separate occasions and it's been awful. I made my order one Saturday around 11am and got confirmation 'thank you for your order,' but when I arrived at the cafe 20 minutes later it was closed.. surely you would turn off the ability to place an order on your website like any other business does. The second occasion I ordered, when I arrived around 20 minutes later they seemed to have no idea that I had ordered until they searched for it on their system so I ended up waiting a long time. No apology. The same thing happened today, the pre order had not been acknowledged and waited 55 minutes for a couple of bacon sandwiches. No apology again. You need to have a system where you have some sort of notification that someone has placed an order on your website, if you are closed when you are usually open or extremely busy then don't allow orders to be placed online at that time. Come on, this is really basic stuff.. and if you can't do that maybe just get rid of the pre order option because it's making your business and staff look incompetent.

Young staff show inexperience by ignoring me for five minutes. Not particularly interactive although they were busy. Coffee not hot but bitter. Standard breakfast they had no mushrooms and only offered another hash brown hmm. Whole breakfast I would award a 6 out of ten. Uninspiring place and food likewise

We enjoyed a wonderful buffet provided by Hartletts for a 90th birthday party, delivered in plenty of time. There was a huge variety of really delicious food, with lots of wonderful choices and flavours, and all beautifully presented - something for everyone's taste. Absolutely faultless!

Jenny was brilliant at helping with the choices for the buffet, very personable and took the food elements on with ease. There were several dietary needs guests we knew were coming (gluten intolerant + vegans) and all of it was no problem. Both on the day, and afterwards all of the feedback on the quality, quantity and flavors of the buffet was positive. Thanks so much for taking the stress out of the food part of a really nice send off for our mum.

Lovely little community cafe, used by local mums, business people and socialists. Free park immediately outside. Convenient for walking the dog and within walking distance of the local shops or bigger supermarket.

This place has a lovely ambience and is easily the best place for a coffee and brunch in Hook. I enjoyed the full English with a mocha. On an earlier visit I also liked the Eggs Benedict.

We had planned to go here for breakfast before my sons football match next door and were lucky enough to snare a table inside. The food was delicious - cracking full English, blueberry pancakes and good coffee. You queue to be served at the counter but the ladies there are very quick and efficient. Overall would highly recommend.

Do love this place and quite regularly go here, but I really do wish you'd update your opening hours. It's 0830 on a Wednesday and you are closed. Both your website and here on Google it says you are open.

This is a little gem! Open on Saturdays, food made to order, dog friendly, eat in or take away, attentive staff. What more can I say! We'll definitely be back!

Tastey food and friendly staff in a relaxed small cafe setting. Home of the best omelette in Basingstoke/Hook! A definite must visit if you find yourself in little Hook.

Definitely NOT a greasy spoon. Does a beautiful breakfast with ingredients very obviously bought from a proper butcher. Delicious every time! Also, some of the best staff I've ever been served by, anywhere, if not THE best. Been coming here for about six months now. Great team, great food, lively setting. 5 stars.

Visited Hartlets cafe this morning for breakfast. It was busy with local families using the facility. However the staff were efficient and friendly and kept the customers moving with their various orders of eat in or take away. Our food was delivered to our table promptly, (cooked breakfasts) a generous portion of excellent quality well presented and lovely and hot. Well done.

A friend and i went here for lunch with two 18 month old toddlers with us. Whilst waiting for our full breakfast orders we gave our kids a few grapes, some slices of banana and pom bears to snack on. The server came over and told us that the managment had decided snacks from home are not allowed and we were expected in future to order from the kids menu. Clearly the managment have not tried eating out with a 1 year old who is too small to eat a full kids meal and will not understand waiting quietly. So unfortunatly after over a year of being regular customers we will not be going back.

This cafe is definitely the best in the area for quality, cost and service, and i would have no hesitation in recommending this cafe to friends and family and anyone in the area.

4 years later revisited this lovey little Cafe. Family and dog friendly. Right next to a park, kids playground, tennis courts and community centre yet still relaxingly quiet. Same great coffee and excellent food. Prices are reasonable and service is excellent. One of the best Cafe's in Hampshire.

Wow!, We asked for an afternoon tea to be delivered to Pinkerton canal boat journey we had booked privately. Jenny was amazing, she waited as the boat arrived late. She placed all the food ordered on board for us. She had also managed to provide food for our gluten-free ladies exactly the same as us. The food was exceptional, tasty, sandwiches, wraps and rolls, followed by a variety of cakes and scones with clotted cream and jam. If you are looking for an afternoon tea, please use Jenny, you will not be disappointed.

Really good food there and friendly staff

We came in for breakfast this week, the food was lovely but the meal was spoiled by the presence of six dogs in the cafe. The cafe is quite small and six dogs was quite a lot! One of the dogs stood close to me and stared at my breakfast while I was eating and dispite me shooing it away several times kept getting closer until its nose was pressed against my leg. At this point I asked the owner to move their dog which they did do but looked as though I was being totally unreasonable! I used to like this cafe, the food is lovely but as there are several other places locally that do a nice breakfast I will not be coming back here.

Amazing café! Food is excellent! I had the most amazing fluffy blueberry pancakes with crispy bacon, fresh blueberries and maple syrup. The best I've ever had. My partner and kids loved the full English. All very tasty and presented in gorgeous crockery. Club and school shirts from the local clubs and schools are framed on the wall giving it a true community feel. All the staff are really friendly and helpful. Such a nice atmosphere here. There is a play park opposite too which is a big bonus when eating out with kids. We went wo mornings in a row whilst staying near by. I highly recommend.

Lovely cafe with delicious food!

I've eaten here loads of times. Breakfasts are the best for miles around. Top quality ingredients and beautifully served with excellent service. Maple syrup pancakes are amazing as well.

Delicious food and dog friendly. Just what we needed after a long walk

Third visit in three weeks with my dog for a lovely coffee and a delicious flap jack. I mean to try the brownie which also looks good but I’m hooked! Friendly staff and space inside and out. Go along and see for yourself!

Wonderful place. Breakfast was one of the best I have ever had ... Need to get you a photo. Small cafe that was full of small children and child minders when we went. Was filling up with workmen as we left. Quite a few reserved empty tables. We ate outside. Great service. Happy people. The council facilities (dog park, playground, exercise ares, skate park) are extensive.

Nice breakfast on nice plates. Free parking. Can be a bit noisy due to the acoustics of the cafe. Looking forward to a return visit. No photo as I was hungry!

Food is really good but the service is appalling and the staff are rude.

Delicious freshly made blueberry pancakes, veggie breakfast, sandwiches..you name it if it’s vegetarian I’ve tried it here and it’s always amazing. The staff are really sweet as is the owner. They never have an issue customising menu items when requested. really missed it during lockdown.

Hartletts catered for our daughters 21st Birthday party and provided a professional, beautiful, delicious buffet. I can’t recommend highly enough!!!!

Was a delivery, the sit down is always perfect but Honest reveiw , burnt egg, the hallomii & mushroom had black bits that spread to rest of dish , oat late good and really tasty veggie sausage which was very yummy, shame about the bits ruined the dish , not heinz beans but very well received and arrived hot :)

What a fantastic afternoon tea Hartlett Cafe delivered to my parents. I didn’t really know what to expect when I placed the order as a birthday treat but I was simply blown away with what arrived. Fabulous value for money and food to die for

Ordered afternoon tea to be delivered for my niece's birthday. Brightened up my nieces day as because of covid restrictions was spending it alone. Would definitely recommend and use again. Friendly helpful service provided and very efficient. Food excellent at a very reasonable cost.
