The Leather Bottle in Hart

The Leather Bottle or as I like to call it Leather B is a very nice relaxing and chilled out spot to have a drink with a more mature crowd usually. I've had so many good times here and come here on average 2-3 times a Month.

Full Sunday roast was good and decent portion sizes,it said the beef is served pink on the menu and mine wasn't but it was still very nice, fairly long wait from ordering to being served( about 40 mins) but again that wasn't a problem as we were chatting, the staff are friendly, come to the table with colouring pencils for the kids, overall a nice meal out in lovely surroundings

My wife ordered Tenderloin Pork, It was served to her with Beetroot and a large onion, I tiny portion of potato,and a sauce etc. She thought this was a little odd, and question this when our waiter checked we were satisfied with our meal. His response was to tell her that it was a very popular choice. Before our bill was presented my wife check the menu at the bar and discovered this was an error, she should have had tender-stem broccoli. I pointed this out to our waiter who reluctantly accepted they had made a mistake, and offered a ten pound reduction off of our bill which we accepted. Perhaps Char for her next event can arrange some staff training, and point out that there are many other places to eat out customers have choices. I for one will stay more local.

Every time I’ve visited I have had great service, great food and atmosphere. Staff are lovely.

Went for a Sunday Roast, and it didn't disappoint!!! As a table of 6, we had a mix between standard beef roast, the mix roast and a couple of pies. One member required Gluten Free and all supplied without issue. Atmosphere was great, food was great. Only one tiny downside was some of the ladies organising booking were talking within earshot about the time tables had left, we are all aware when booking that you have a time limit to help keep the tables moving. But speaking within earshot of customers enjoying their meals puts pressure off and takes away a little of the enjoyment. Still had a cracking meal and really enjoyed it. Just a tiny bit of feedback, that's all.

Beautiful cosy pub with a good garden and unique food selection. Our server (I think her name was Abby) was phenomenal, despite managing a large number of tables she never missed a beat with us.

Great welcoming staff and a great pint

Popped in here on the way down south as we pass it every time we come down this way and thought it was about time to try it. The atmosphere is great and the food delicious. I would definitely recommend the sausage and mash.

Good choices, would have preferred a lighter dessert choice rather than mini pudding and hot drink but food is always delish!

Relaxed dinner in the bar, with some good bitter on tap. Friendly staff and plenty of them. We pop in here when in the area. What's not to like?!

All round great pub, great for families during the day, great fun for later hours! We celebrated our friends graduation there on Saturday. Big shout out to Feefs, one of the managers, super friendly, knowledgeable and really looked after our group - all the staff are great! Thank you again!!

Great hubbub last night, amazing for a Monday. The food was great, service as good as could be for very busy and only one person on duty initially. The sticky toffee pudding was amazing!

Bear in mind I live in Carmarthenshire this was the second time in seven days I visited The Bottle, and pleased I was on both occasions. Starting with the first impressions, it's always well presented, smart, very clean and pleasing unpretentious. The bar area, where we always eat, is atmospheric and comfortable. While I'm thinking about it, have a look at the selection of beers available, and the whiskies too. On both occasions we attended to properly, politely and in a friendly fashion. Menus produced we both had fish and chips: My father (91) swerved a starter but I had the home-made scotch egg, which was utterly wonderful in every respect. Main course; The fish was about the largest I've ever had, complemented by superb chips and mushy peas. Presentation, quality of cooking and the size of the meal should be noted, as it was pleasingly generous. plates and cutlery were superbly clean... In all, another fine Leather Bottle experience.

This is a fantastic, warm, homely pub/restaurant, made all the cosier in the colder weather with roaring fires. The food is excellent and they cater well for gluten free diets. The staff are very friendly, which makes the experience all the better.

Fantastic pub - beautiful location, lovely friendly staff and amazing food. Even better; the gluten free menu is extensive and suitable for coeliacs! Ate far too much but left very happy. We will be back! Celiac coeliac GF Update - 2 years on from my original review. We have been back a few times and it's been just as good, if not better! We took our dog who was made to feel very welcome too. Will go back for the sticky toffee pudding alone! No photos as we all ate our food too quickly.

Sunny day! Say outside and enjoyed the ambiance! Food was decent. Service was good. A nice afternoon out. The burger was cooked well. Both orders came out correct:)

It's a Great Spot to Chill I've only been to The Leather Bottle a couple of times, but it's quickly become a favorite. The coffee is great, and they have a really nice selection of cakes. It's a great spot to chill out and relax. The unique interior design and pleasant atmosphere make it a perfect place to unwind.

Lovely food and very welcoming and accommodating staff. Only note would be that although the pub is noted as being very dog friendly, you have to request a table in the bar area, as dogs aren’t allowed in the restaurant.

Excellent food, lovely historic pub

Booked for lunch and had a lovely experience. The food was fabulous. I had fish and chips and my husband had the steak and ale pie. Both were great size portions and delicious. The service was very friendly and at a nice pace so we didn't feel rushed.

Great lunch menu with lots of interesting choices, bit different to traditional pub selections. Decent range of beers on tap, table service was bright and helpful.

A good hidden gem that I wasn’t aware of before until meeting a family friend. Very warm and cozy will look forward to returning again soon

Visited for dinner. Majority of the food was absolutely brilliant and the service was great. Unfortunately the pork belly starter was really quite dry and only small piece of pork but a lot of pork scratching not something to choose again. Ordered a Bloody Mary and asked for it to be spicy but it was very mild. Overall would visit again just minor things to an overall great dinner.

Really nice place with lots of little novelties like a tractor in the garden, reading glasses to borrow and a large jar of dog treats! Lovely food, staff and garden. A place I’ll keep coming back to

I’ve been here quite a few times. The food is always fantastic and they have an excellent selections. Great choices of drinks as well. The atmosphere is lovely with a nice warming fire during the winter. Service and staff were great and very friendly. Excellent pub with great food

Wonderful food, staff and atmosphere! We visited from Cornwall whilst visiting family and will definitely be back on our next trip, highly recommend.

Great local pub with a selection of quality beers, good food and friendly service

This is a lovely little place. The food is good and reasonably priced. The portion size is just right. The absolute game changer that you don't see at a lot of places is that they change the menu quite regularly. All the meals, from starters through to desserts, are superbly and professionally presented and come out in a timely manner. The venue is dog-friendly, with a bar dining area where dogs are welcome. Staff are warm and friendly. I would recommend this to anyone.

We had a really lovely lunch. Staff were super friendly and very efficient and professional. Food was delicious. It was a cold wet day outside, our only other feedback would be it was very cold sitting in the bar area.

We've come to the leather bottle at least 5 times since we discovered it last year via an all trails walk. The food is always high quality, a fantastic selection. There are a few options that always seem to be on the menu such as the burger and fish and chips and they are bloody good. The rest of the menu seems to be on seasonal rotation, I imagine it's what's local and fresh. Try them all before they go! The cocktails and gins on offer are also brilliant, I'd recommend the Jaffa cake gin, yes you can taste both the Jaffa and the chocolate, it's different but lovely. The staff are always friendly and attentive. 10/10 we love this pub and it's probably the best pub in the Surrey area.

As a vegan, celiac, it is challenging for me to find interesting, delicious food in restaurants. The Leather Bottle did not disappoint. The food was creative and very delicious and I was able to have an incredible dessert. The service was friendly and efficient and the pub had such a lovely atmosphere. It was cosy, had fireplaces going, a really nice hum of diners conversing and enjoying their meals, and after a long walk in the countryside it was the perfect place to enjoy a hot meal. I absolutely loved it and would highly recommend The Leather Bottle.

Met old friends for a most delicious lunch...

My wife and I have been to this pub three times over the last 12 months. In February we enjoyed a meal next to the cosy fireplace. Food was fantastic although the pub was reasonably quiet for an evening meal. We returned on a Saturday afternoon in the summer, the pub inside and outside was absolutely packed Despite that we were served with drinks and food quickly after ordering at the bar and finding a table in the beer garden most recent visit was this weekend in December having not booked and turned up at 6:30 pm. We were found a table and enjoyed a fantastic meal by 7 pm. Floods of people came in for meals and the bar area was absolutely rammed once again we were served promptly with a smile and great food. It astounded me that a country pub reasonably far from most houses can be so full even during the week which is surely testament to the great service and atmosphere this pub has.

A great place to stop off after a hectic airport run

Treated my parents to a lovely Sunday lunch here and all of us were very impressed. The food was outstanding and it was so nice as a gluten free vegan to have options available, including dessert, which was just ice cream. Will definitely be recommending and going back myself. A quintessential English pub. The menu is very varied, nice wines and varied choice. There is decent parking and a nice pub garden. It's dog friendly and there is a local 2.8 mile loop walk you can do from the car park.

Great food, sizeable portions. Very good service. Didn’t have to wait long for each course and very attentive waitresses.

Lovely little pub, cosy fire. Starters were absolutely incredible. But, if I go again, I’ll just order multiple starters. The halibut was very small in portion, nothing mind-blowing, and an horrific £27. That is compared with the much larger roast for £22, though that was also fairly underwhelming. Everyone knows roast potatoes make the roast, but people in our party were giving them away! They were just about rock solid on the outside, and without much substance on the inside. Furthermore, a member of our party ticked the gluten free options and specify a gluten intolerance. Well, it’s fortunate that they only have an intolerance and not coeliac, because while we awaited our starters a server came around and quite plainly said that it isn’t actually gluten free and there’s cross contamination, offering no alternative. DO NOT EAT HERE IF YOU ARE COELIAC I also had to ask 4 times for the glass of port I had pre-ordered at the time of booking the table. All in all, I would be interested to pay The Leather Bottle another visit as it’s a lovely location with great atmosphere and crisp drinks (albeit £4.25 for a Coca Cola). The starters were also phenomenal across the board. The quality & cost of the mains and dessert service was just a let down today.

Lovely lunch meeting up with friends. Tasty food and a great service. This is our go to place for meeting midway and even better in the summer when you can sit out in the large garden and catch-up.

Lovely evening, celebrating Christmas with a group of friends. We were a large group and the service was a little slow initially, the starters didn’t arrive for at least 30 minutes. However, after that service was seamless. The food was delicious, hot and very generous portions. Friendly and efficient waiting staff, who worked hard on a busy evening. Highly recommended and we will be returning.

We were a group of 20+ former work colleagues who were having a reunion after 25+ years! With only 24 hours notice it was decided to extend the day together as a group and have dinner together, too. On booking with The Leather Bottle, somehow they managed to squeeze us all in on 3 large tables adjoining each other. Without exception, everything was excellent. The atmosphere in this busy early 1700's country inn was delightful. The food was simply delicious and the service friendly and efficient. The prices for what we actually received were very reasonable. We all had a lovely evening. Certainly we will return again as a couple or with friends, and I'm quite sure others will, too.

A lovely atmosphere in this pub. The staff were very attentive and helpful. My beef bourguignon was absolutely delicious as was the starter, Brie bites.

We were looking for somewhere to stop for lunch on our travels, and a diversion took us this way. I'm very glad it did. The staff were friendly ,polite, and attentive without being annoying. The food was delicious. Busy, but not noisy.

We loved the Leather Bottle. The service was excellent, the food was delicious and the decor and arrangement of the pub means that it feels really cosy, classy and welcoming. We live outside of the area but I would highly recommend it and would definitely go back if we found ourselves in the same part of the world again.

Easily one of the best pubs in the area. Service is great, food is spot on 👍 Never seem to be able to get a tequila soda right in this pub though 😂 either comes flavoured or dismantled.

Stopped here after doing a walk around the area, managed to be squeezed in on a busy Saturday lunchtime. Very polite and professional staff tasty food. Vary varied menu, something for everyone, though a few bits quite pricey. Lovely atmosphere.

Very nice little pub. Greeted well at the door and seated in a suitable place (disability) Food was very nice, probably the best burger I have had. Good selection of drinks but could do with some more high end single malts. Our waitress was lovely and is a credit to the business. Wish we hadn't waited so long to visit and will definitely be back. We'll done guys 100%

We had a most enjoyable evening here where the staff could not do enough to look after you, especially Ivana who took a shine to our Cocker Spaniel providing her a cushion and blanket. The menu was varied and interesting the price was about right for the portion size and quality, no complaints at all. I am a French resident and it’s something we just don’t have in France, a proper pub with good honest food. I highly recommend you stop here on the A33 !

At a time when many pubs are struggling, it was good to see the Leather Bottle pretty full at 8pm on a Tuesday evening. Not hard to see why. We were on our way back from a trip to Liverpool and just wanted a quick supper as there was nothing in the house. One chicken supreme and a cod loin, plus beer and wine, and we were out in just over an hour. Friendly prompt service from organised and well trained staff in nice surroundings. This place is consistently good.

Have visited several times and when we are visiting relatives in Eversley, we always book The Leather Bottle for a meal. A lovely country pub, with a great beer garden and a cosy restaurant indoors. The menu never fails to please and there is always a great choice of high quality meals to satisfy most visitors. Real ales are well kept and a good choice of wines and spirits. We had dinner there last night for my son’s birthday and we’re not disappointed. The chicken and leek pie is to die for and the braised beef feathers was outstanding.. We were served by the lovely Charlotte who was brilliant and such a pleasant and very professional young lady. We all agreed she is a a great ambassador for The Leather Bottle and say a big thank you for making our evening so pleasant. W will be coming very soon and can’t wait to have another of those wonderful meals. Thank you to everyone. F

The vegetarian curry was delicious! I usually struggle with pescetarian and vegetarian options, but they had several choices and I was stuck between them. The curry was perfect, vegetables were al dente, the curry spiced right and the rice wasn't mushy. Really hearty, healthy and wholesome.

Absolutely fantastic pub to go to, after a long dog walk. The food was great, and the staff were good. A little delayed on the food, which we didn’t know loads about, but other than that, extremely happy with everything.

The ploughman's was phenomenal and average price. Good service. Atmosphere didn't quite cut it,s so compared to The New Inn up the road, this pub & eatery came second.

Visited on my sons birthday. Weather was wonderful as was the food staff and value for money.

I picked this pub as it was a halfway point of meeting and I was not disappointed! Staff were lovely and polite - was certainly service with a smile. The food was very promptly brought out which was ideal, plus the actual food itself was delicious, the halloumi fries were yummy followed by the chicken burger too!

Have eaten here before, but stopped by to do some remote working. Good coffee, and friendly staff - slightly loud traffic noise, but very hot day meant all the windows open. Well worth a visit for work or leisure!

We go to The Leather Bottle fairly regularly and like going there. I would normally give a much better score but unfortunately for us the Wine and Tapas evening recently was not so great. Having paid £100 for 4 tickets and the event information stating it was 16.00 - 11.00, we were a bit disappointed to find the dregs of wine and no canapés left (not actually tapas in the first place) when we arrived at 18.45. We then ordered two bottles of wine and a selection of tapas from the menu. Food was ok. We were told a good will gesture would be to remove a few tapas from the bill, which they duele did, yet still our bill for Wine and Tapas for 4 was £180 on top of £100 for tickets, so an expensive evening for what it was really.. having said that we will be back.

Group of seven friends monthly catch up over a meal, this was a return visit and will unfortunately be our last. Food was average and service very slow. Waitress apologised for slow delivery of starters but we then had another wait for our mains to be served. Just as one of us was going into the bar to chase the food it arrived - delivered by an assistant manager who really isn't suited to a career in the hospitality industry. When we politely commented on the slow services she virtually threw the plate on to the table and rolled her eyes. She walked away without a word. When she came back we said that rather than silence and eye rolling it would have been better to just say something such as I'm sorry but we are really busy tonight (they weren't) or sorry but we are short staffed this evening but instead she decided to dispute her actions, roll her eyes again and disappear. She reappeared shortly afterwards with a note to tell us what time we had ordered at and how long we waited for food. An aggressive, argumentative and very rude assistant manager. The other waitress who served our table was absolutely fine. We will not return to The Leather Bottle it certainly does not deliver service with a smile.

I’ve always loved going to the leather bottle, the staff, the food, just everything is always on point. Looking forward to my next visit already :)

First visit for me, but my husband had been previously as it's near his workplace. Really lovely picturesque pub with good food and service and obviously popular. The drink selection is really good although I only had a draught Asahi it was 🙂‍↔️👌I've given 4 ⭐️ for the food as my main meal of braised beef feather with parmesan truffle mash, white onion puree, and red wine sauce was a little bland 😌🤏 but I would definitely revisit if I'm in that neck of the woods again.

Food was not AMAZING here, but good enough. I really liked the atmosphere, it was cute indoors and outdoors was really lively and full of nice plants. The service was good as well.
