The best restaurants serving Default food in Sandwich Dover South East

Uncomfortable chairs, tables too close together, dogs allowed to sit on seats, tables not cleaned the whole time we were there, floor absolutely filthy and waitresses stroking dogs then going behind the counter to carry on serving without washing their hands. Totally unhygienic and unacceptable. Definitely will not be returning.

We had breakfast at this lovely cafe. The food was lovely and was served with a smile. I would definitely recommend this cafe for breakfast and coffee.

Very sad to say that our experience of papa’s tonight was appalling. My 84 year old mother went in to order, she was snapped at because she couldn’t hear, she was tutted and commented at in a rude way because she adjusted her face covering, we were made to wait in the smelly alley way for the food , and when I asked if there were any napkins I was told “no” No explanation just a curt “no” Won’t be going back there again there is no excuse for rudeness !

What an absolute gem of a place. Ice cream and milk shakes superb. They also offer a very reasonable range of hot and tasty food. There is NO COMPETITION for hot food, at this price anywhere else in Sandwich.

Wandered in here planning to grab a coffee and was so impressed by the menu and service we stayed for dinner. Superb smashed burgers but the rest of the menu offered enough choice to satisfy everyone and yet was limited enough for the chefs to do everything really, really well. Offered gluten-free bun. Really friendly and helpful service; superb food.

Friendly and efficient staff, interesting food and drink menu with an Italian vibe. The cocktails are great! Love the wooden shelving, mirrors and glass decor, based on the original shop decor but elevated.

We came for a couple of drinks on date night in the new cocktail lounge, the staff were so friendly, the cocktails were amazing. The Don Julio Margarita is to die for!! Great place will come again

We visited a few nights ago and just after we arrived there were three tables of golfers (about 40 in total) seated. Our waitress was very friendly and efficient and our service couldn’t be faulted. They seemed to be looking after the large tables very well too, which is to be commended. The reason for my rating was the actual food, we had three dishes, chicken dhansak, hydrabad chicken and the potatoes with mustard. The dishes all looked and tasted the same, and seemed to be made with the same sauce. (I wondered if that was to make it easier to cater for the large groups). The naan however was delicious and there was a good selection of drinks. Perhaps we chose the wrong time to visit, please try it yourself as there are many great reviews.

Traditional Italian restaurant in an old building in central Sandwich. Big upstairs room which is typically busy and noisy. Friendly and efficient staff. Menu has mainstays of pasta and pizza plus a sprinkling of fish and meat dishes. Prices very reasonable for the location. Quality well above average. Highly recommended

Came here at the weekend as a small group and we had a fabulous meal. From the meet and greet, to the host, the service and the food, everything was brilliant. Food wise, we all had different things and everyone ate everything that was on their plates. Really tasty, piping hot and well presented. Totally recommend, from a romantic dinner for 2 through to groups, great place to go. Totally recommend and we will certainly be back.

We have been eyeing up a Sunday roast here for a few months and finally managed to make it as my other half booked for a birthday. Not knowing what to expect we booked a table and were warmly welcomed by the chap behind the bar. Instantly made to feel welcome we sat down with our drinks. Orders were quickly taken and the food arrived shortly after. Firstly the portion size is very generous, more importantly the food was not only hog but every element was exceptional. I have never had so many vegetable options on one plate and everyone from the garlic infused greens to the beetroot were tasty. Overall probably the best roast we have had when eating out and could not recommend highly enough.

We are new to the area having just moved in this week and thought after a long week we would treat ourselves to a take away tonight. With so much choice in Sandwich we settled for Chutney Masala and it certainly didn’t disappoint. Great service on the phone and delivery guy was friendly to the food which was amazing. I had the Chicken Tikka (not too adventurous) and my wife had the Chicken Shashlik both of which were cooked fresh with no grease and had great taste. It’s fair to say now we will be back as we begin our life here in Sandwich! Keep doing what you’re doing at Chutney Masala….its brilliant.

Great breakfast had by all as usual, been twice recently and both times food and drinks great! Latest visit was a large booking of 14 of us from babies to older adults and everyone had a great time and enjoyed their food and drinks. Definitely recommend booking in advance as gets booked up at the weekends

Noticed this bijou shop as we were attracted initially by the Groovy illuminated sign in the window advertising cloths and coffee/tea. What a surprise! We were greeted warmly by a young lady behind the counter. The main surprise was it was incredibly small, 2 individual chairs, a 2 seater retro cloth settee and an additional small seating area immediately under the counter in front of the display of cakes (not ideal) customers would literally be sitting virtually upon each other although we were the only customers in attendance at that moment in time. We had tea and 2 rather small cakes and were charged over £12! To summarise, whilst the young lady serving was friendly she fell short on what pricing of the cloths and various items for sale were if not tagged and also was rather naive in knowledge about the local town area. Overall the experience was different and the products for sale were interesting albeit scant we would not choose to return over other more spacious and better value venues locally.
