Namaste Sandwich in Dover

OMG could not recommend this place enough. This has to be hands down the beat food ever. Staff amazing. Chefs amazing Food outstanding. We arrived at 7.30 on Friday without booking and the gentleman said come back at 8 and he would fit us in. So apologetic, friendly. We returned at 8, and was seated straight away. Service was quick. We left with full bellys. I will say don't order more than you can eat as portion size are big. 2 starters 2 Mains 2 sides 1 bottle of wine 4 poppadoms (with 3 sauces)

I have tried to leave this review twice and each time it has disappeared. Very strange. We came here from Margate on account of the good reviews and unfortunately were very disappointed. We had three dishes, a naan and some (lukewarm) rice. The food was incredibly bland. The prawn madras had no flavour, the sag aloo was a flavourless green mush and the kadai paneer had flavourless boiled paneer and uncooked hard chunks of pepper. We struggled to finish the dishes and I had stomach pains for two days afterwards. A real shame as the restaurant itself has a lovely atmosphere but sadly we would not recommend.

Love this restaurant!! Lovely booth, waited on by Tracey and Sumit - both knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. Daughter and son-in-law shared rice, wisely! Husband and I had a rice each! We both had lamb Karahi - delicious, spices were so tasty. Started with poppadums and dips. Nice bottle of Tempranillo. Had a veg curry as a side. Really enjoyed every mouthful!!! Naans very tasty. Just fab food and atmosphere.

Just the best indian meal we’ve had in a long time. Everything was freshly cooked with delicious flavours and beautifully presented. Notably different to more traditional Indian restaurants … just seemed fresher and healthier with more distinct , individual flavours. Excellent service …. Knowledgeable, friendly and professional staff with a delightful, charismatic chef who took pride in his cooking and spent time talking to diners. Would definitely recommend 😀

My wife and I decided, very last minute, to enjoy a meal here for our wedding Anniversary...and what great decision it was! The food was incredible, the staff were so very accommodating and friendly and the atmosphere was exactly what you would want from an authentic Indian restaurant. We couldn't decide which wine to have with our meal so the gentleman brought over a taster of a couple of options. Being vegetarian we usually have very limited options but again we were pleasantly surprised with the vast selection and the fantastic flavours from the dishes we chose. We will 100% be returning to Namaste and recommend this establishment to anyone.

We ate here last night and it was amazing! We phoned ahead due to several dietary restrictions and were assured that they could accommodate us. When we arrived we had such a great experience (which you don’t get everywhere with allergies!!) the staff were very knowledgeable about the ingredients and what would be possible. They made something that my son absolutely loved despite several food allergies. All of us thoroughly enjoyed our food, it was excellent. The service was fantastic, we highly recommend you try here! Another amazing meal from namaste sandwich, a warm greeting the guy who was front of house, he was very attentive, nothing was too much trouble . A big thumbs up also has to go to Raj the chef who made us feel really welcome and, with his team , created some real delights , this place never disappoints.

Over priced for the offering provided. Both meals were abysmal. One was over cooked, flavourless and dry. The other was overwhelmed with sauce. Having lived in Asia, I know what it should be like. Will not use this restaurant ever again

Amazing food and such helpful, friendly staff. I have recently been diagnosed with Coeliac disease so contacted Namaste prior to visiting to ensure they could cater for me. They were super helpful and knowledgeable. They allowed me to pre order my food the day before so it could be prepared completely separately to ensure there was no cross contamination. I didn't preorder a starter but I did have one and it was delicious. I can't thank them enough for all of the help I received but also the amazing food and now another option to eat out closer to home! Thank you so much!!

Overall quite poor. There was a faint smell of urine as we were seated near the toilets. Poppadoms adequate, three sauces no onions no lime pickle. Was told onion bhaji was not available as was "inauthentic". Calamari, New York Cheesecake and Kentish Ice cream were all intriguingly on the menu. The starters were good if over priced. The mains were barely adequate and again overpriced. A feeble cafetiere of coffee was over £9 and the rice was a tad crunchy. The servers were nice enough. Would not recommend I'm afraid.

The food was simply out of this world!! 10 out of 10. Never tasted Indian so good! Took my partner here for the first time for Valentine’s Day and the service was absolutely brilliant. Everyone was so welcoming there and so friendly. I cannot wait to get back down there again!

The best Indian food in the area. Namaste serves ethnic food with lots of different dishes to offer we have visited many times and never been disappointed. The staff are always very attractive a specially Sara and Mia who go out of their way to make the dining experience special. Highly recommend a visit

Had a lovely experience at Namaste. Food was authentic, full of spices and array of flavours. The service was very good and our server Sara was very engaging and made our visit comfortable and shared some jokes with us throughout the evening. The chef came out during our meal to say hello and introduce himself which was a very professional. You can see he has a real passion for the food that he was serving. Overall a brilliant night with explosions of flavours. This is our fifth visit and it always delivers to a high standard. ❤️

I found this restaurant online and booked a table. It was busy, but there was a good atmosphere, service was spot on and the food was excellent. If you are looking for something a little bit different than your usual Indian food - this is perfect. The food is so flavoursome, full of different spices. Lots of choice on the menu. The restaurant felt clean, service was prompt and the staff were very attentive. We were served by Sara and she was very friendly. I will be returning and would recommend.

Very nice food. Although starters quite pricey and poppadums with sauces quite simple for that money. Drinks quite expensive for a pint of beer & house wine. Main menu, good choice and lovely prepared food. This is not a typical Curry House, but their take on Indian cuisine is very good. Staff was friendly. Would have given it 5 stars, but coming out of the restaurant, there was a big pile of rubbish stacked up. I understand they need to put waiste out somewhere, but perhaps wait until closing time. ....? Nevertheless would definitely go back

This is not your traditional Indian, it's a bit fancy. Food was fine, but pricey - they even charge you for a tray of dips with your poppadoms. Service from staff was good. Would I go back? I'm not sure as I like traditional curry houses.

I visited this restaurant by chance as its tucked away down a beautiful cobble stone alley across from the sandwhich harbour car park. The food, service and whole evening was so nice we went back the following evening to try out more of the menu! We have now been several times and it it is always magnificent, highly recommend!

Poppadums were all overcooked. They charges £3 for a chutney tray which is a but of a joke considering any better quality restaurants include this. Starters were bland and lacklustre little difference between each offering on the sharing platter. Mains we OK but nothing more not awful but not great. Staff were a bit clueless but nice enough.

Lovely food & atmosphere but wow the prices have gone up far too much as we are a curry club & go everywhere we would normally Pay per person £38 popperdoms starter main & 2 drinks But this time we paid £50 per person Sorry namaste your pricing is far too high

As a family we visit here a good few times, we are always made to feel extremely welcome, a lovely relaxed environment and the food is amazing. We highly recommend.

Outstanding curries in a contemporary restaurant. The restaurant is spacious and comfortable, without traditional Indian decor. The staff were all friendly and the food was superb. We skipped popadoms and went for starters which beautifully presented and delicious. Our main courses were both excellent. A very good house red by the glass and a great pint of Meantime IPA. Highly recommended!

Quite honestly the best Indian I’ve ever had. If you want authentic taste then definitely come here. We love a mix of flavours between us and they were more than happy to accommodate something that was authentic and not on the menu. Chicken lababdar Delhi style will always be what I ask for. We had 16 family members to celebrate a joint birthday and what a way to celebrate it with a cracking night at the Namaste. All the food was fabulous, very tasty indeed. The Staff were very attentive and very helpful.

Near the river and Quay car park. Very good and tasty food. The samosas and paneer tikka are amazing and nan, lamb sag, dum chicken biriani, raita were all great, very nice Pinot grigio rose and Kingfisher beer. Busy so do book. Plenty of nice staff who still seemed too busy, service was adequate but nothing special. Prices are reasonable.

I visit Sandwich twice a year for several weeks and look forward to enjoying the many good restaurants in town. Luigis, the Toll House, and George and the Dragon are all fine establishments. But if you like Indian cuisine and want something exceptional Namste is where you need to go. They offer a modern take on traditional Indian cuisine and the tastes are sublime!

It was on the recommendation of a work colleague that had been here before, that took myself and other work mates here. Great idea. The venue is down an ally, but large enough for a decent restaurant but small enough to be comfortable. The food was wonderful with the best nan bread I have ever had! The staff were very nice and efficient. I will definitely come again when next in the area! 👍🏻

We have eaten here many times before, but not for a few months. On the strength of successive visits I'm afraid we always order the same dishes. This time we were sadly disappointed. The Chicken Tak a Tank now has a few large lumps of chicken submerged in a very bland sauce. The prawn dish was easy on the prawns and heavy on another bland sauce. The vegetable curry bore no resemblance to expectation. The only good bits of the meal were the samosa starter and the poppadums. Maybe we'll try again to see if this was just an off night, but something tells me corners are being cut. Shame

On a brief visit to Sandwich I popped in here to get a takeaway for myself and my Wife. I hadn't read any reviews and didn't know what to expect but must tell you, the food was absolutely brilliant. Really hearty, and (trust me, I know these things) made with very good quality ingredients. I must mention the people who took my order too ,as they were genuinely lovely. Such a good experience and such a lucky find!

Such an amazing place , so clean , fresh and good ambience ! The food is freshly cooked to order so if you have any dietary requirements no problem! Staff friendly and efficient too! We loved it , will come again for sure !

Excellent from start to finish… very attentive staff who knew a lot about the food, beautiful restaurant and very clean, not you’re normal food colouring pre prepared Indian, you could taste all the fresh ingredients and actually watch the chefs cook your food! Will be back again!

An overdue get together 4 ole guys, disappointing start , entrance littered with cigarette butts, once inside cold with one 2kw fan heater for this large area. 2 of us joined the other 2 already seated, who had been informed that aircon/heating was not working , also before even ordering a drink (7.30) was informed that they closed at 9.30. Drinks ordered and dispatched to table , on to ordering food, which all arrived very quickly , due to fact I guess only a few people in. Starter was lovely, main courses pre prepared slop, just very very average , 3 of us had a dessert which were OK. However the worst part was to come , 9 pm kitchen lights off , staff gone ! few moments after our bill arrives ( not asked for) to be told we close at 9.30 and at 9.15 told we had just 15 minutes before closing, two of us had booked Taxi for 9.45, so had to walk to Bell Hotel for a drink and get the Taxi diverted to the Bell .

Starters of cassava very filling but for an Indian restaurant a disappointing lack of variety in vegetarian starters. Chuntneys very bland and watery. Main course of lamb done an ummarakand style was well cooked but lacking in flavour. Vegetable main was a basic vegetable curry with no Indian vegetables such as okra or aubergine. Overall disappointed given reviews from friends. Will not be using again.

Punjab I restaurant pleasantly decorated. Plenty of friendly staff. Food was amazing. Great selection of gins. Would recommend the Goan Fish Curry and the Chilli Cheers Naan. Not your average Indian restaurant with its Punjabi flavours and excellent selection. Will be going again for sure.
