We’d ordered a few times from here and food was good but ordered another time and both dishes, which were meant to be completely different, were in exactly the same sauce which was bland and tasteless. It’s very expensive for a takeaway so we won’t be ordering again based on this. There’s a very poor selection of Indian takeaways in Deal and this one was meant to be the best however we don’t understand how they can have a humongous number of dishes and cook them all individually. Clearly they can’t.

We usually eat at Dine India when we come to Deal, but thought we would stay in and try takeaway from this place instead due to the good reviews. The portions were a good size and the delivery was perfectly on time. They were also nice enough to give us quite a few free poppadums and dips. However the food wasn’t great. The chilli chicken dish was very good, but the sheekh kebab a was pretty much inedible. We also ordered a lamb vindaloo but got chicken instead, even though the container was marked lamb. The online ordering system (via both the website and the app) is very poorly designed and organised, and lacks detail on the dishes themselves. The app also crashed on me twice and emptied my basket. They seem to get great reviews, so maybe we just had bad luck, but a lot of the 5 star reviews were from people who hadn’t reviewed anything else. Perhaps that should have told me something.

Originally from Cheshire I'm visiting Deal with family. I came across this Indian and as a family we love Indian, well what can I say... as a family we all said it was the best Indian we have ever had. The food is fantastic, the price is fantastic and the service is fantastic. Please visit if your looking for a good Indian you will not be disappointed. Thank you Indian star.

Really very nice indeed. We had the vegetable Dansak, Malaya and a Peshwari nan bread. Cooked with minimal oil but full of flavour.

Quite simply the best Indian takeaway for miles around. Try their Duck tikka Dhansak it’s delicious! They are lovely staff there too!!

THE BEST INDIAN WE’VE EVER HAD! We’ve been on the hunt for an impressive Indian takeaway/restaurant in east Kent for a while, and after multiple mediocre curry’s, I’m so glad we stumbled across Star of India in Deal. I’m struggling to describe how impressed we are with the food, service and price. But to put it in to context, we live 45 minutes away from the restaurant and will be driving here when we fancy our next Indian, because the quality of food is that much higher than everywhere else. Would recommend every time.

Got a takeaway, delivered on time, reasonable cost. 6 of us with enough left over for 2 tomorrow. Very tasty with excellent choice.

Good portion sizes - always enough to enjoy a ‘ second round’ for lunch the next day🙂 we try to get a least a couple of new dishes each time and are so pleased with our choices. Full 5 out of 5. Don’t get to Deal as often as I would like, but this is my go-to place for an Indian takeaway. The service is always pleasant, speed of getting my meal is quick, and the food is GREAT! I always go for something a little bit spicy and sometimes it can fall short of what you seek. The food here lives up to what the menu says it will be like. Very happy. Will definitely come back again.

Hands down one of the best Indian restaurants I've ever went to. Bloke at the counter was a joy, and the food was the best I've ever had. Guy made sure I knew how much food I'd ordered for myself, and he was right, but it just made for a good lunch the next day. If I wasn't here on holiday, I'd be a regular for sure.

Food was amazing tonight best it’s been slight hiccup with forgetting 1 side dish but was not a problem as was stuffed but I phoned the restaurant and Abs was great very helpful so I know my next order he will sort it out would not use any other Indian takeaway star of India is the best

Best Indian I’m not only deal but I’d say kent. Having moved from deal to canterbury I can honestly say after trying all canterbury has to offer (10+ Indian restaurants) this is by far the best around! I always travel from canterbury (16 miles) for my Indian take away! It is always hot when I get home and the staff give the best service! 10/10 have recommended to many people out of town! The best Indian takeaway in Deal ....!

One of the few places that do a basic Keema curry and plain prahta just like I used to eat in Singapore. They do lots of other dishes which are all full of flavour without blowing your head off !

Our take away was the normal lovely standard, we had a chicken tikka Thali for a change, a mixture of chicken tikka, niramish, rice and Nan plus we ordered 2 starters as well, the Niramish was yummy, never had it before, far to much for us, but we ate it all. Yummy 😋 thank you

Had the Lamb Naga and it was one of the best curries I've had in a long time.

Ive used star of india for over 30yrs & always found it lovely,but tonight,the food was warn,not hot & the onion bhajjies were so overcooked they were rock hard. The food was delivered in the 45-60min timescale but a bit dissapointing tonight.

Always try to get a takeaway from here. Well above average food from a very friendly and helpful team.

Two friends and I treated ourselves to an Indian from The Star of India. The food took about 45 mins to arrive, but it arrived hot and fresh and tasted exquisite. If you are looking for a good takeaway I personally recommend here. Value for money and hot, hot, hot food.

Just had a take away from star of india and the food was delicious as always. Would definitely recommend them. Front of house staff are such nice people and always remember your face. My wife was poorly last time i went and they remembered and asked how she was.

This is the 1st time I have ordered from Star of India and I was very disappointed. I phoned my order through and was told it would be delivered in about 45 minutes...ended up phoning after an hour to be told my meal was on its way and my order finally turned up 10 minutes later, not a good start. The portion sizes were very generous but was barely warm. The onion bhajees were the size of tennis balls, far too greasy and very chewy. I have had better takeaways so wouldn't recommend this one.

Whenever I order from this restaurant I know what I am getting - excellent food - always accurate, always well cooked, the best poppadum without a hint of grease. When I used to live away from this area we used a good Indian but they never really got it right, forgetting things, indecipherable comments on the packed food so you didn't know which boxed dish was yours - not so with the Star of India.These guys are the epitome of efficient and I ask you all why you are going anywhere else - if you are Well done to these guys - an asset to the food offering we boast in Deal & Walmer

Had takeaway yesterday - staying in hotel nearby. V friendly owners and food was amazing - best indian we have had bar none!

Really disappointed in star of India tonight, last few times the service has got worse and the delivery time longer! Tonight topped it off, was told an hour, that’s fine, Saturday night, over an hour and 20 minutes later it arrives, dished it up straight away and the food was barely warm. Called up to let them know and got a bunch of attitude from the English guy that answered the phone! Going somewhere else from now on!

Had a veg ceylon which was plesently spicy and very much to my tastes though some may find it a little hot. Friend had a mild veg salawala which is a mild spinach dish, a tarka dhall which was full of garlic and slightly salty as it should be and sag aloo which was very good 2 garlic nans and rice. So pleased with the food we ordered another takeaway 4 days later. Wait for delivery 45 mins to an hour but we'll worth the wait!

You know what? After a 90 minute pliswait, I no longer care what the food tastes like. If you want food, go for someone reliable.

We had a takeaway from here delivered to our campsite we were staying at for the weekend. The website was easy to use, called them to confirm what time we wanted the food, arrived promptly with an email to say it was on its way. It was a big order for 5 families, all correct and was delicious.

As ever a tasty hot takeaway. Prawn Dansak, onion bhaji, samosas....plus poppadoms nan bread all cooked to perfection. Good size portions ( I’ve got curry for tomorrow as well).. Staff polite and observing the hygiene and distancing rules. Also doing deliveries. I forgotten just how good authentic Indian food tastes. Well done Star of India.

Really disappointed after being recommended the Star by friends: sag paneer was melted cheddar on spinach, tandoori chicken masala was watery red sauce punctuated by gristle and on occasion some chicken. Rice and naan cold to boot

Fine quality takeaway that arrived in good time, with all dishes piping hot. I've used this takeaway restaurant a few times now and it has always been reliable.

We’ve recently ordered several meals from this establishment and have never been disappointed by the quality of the authentic food. The staff are always friendly, helpful & efficient. You can order by phone and they will deliver or you can collect. Excellent service so do give it a try if you’re in the area.

Quality ingredients are used to produce this really tasty food. The portion sizes are very generous and all the food we have ordered has been delicious. This take away is so busy that I would advise ordering well in advance. Should you decide to collect your order in person you are greeted warmly and given a bowl of Bombay mix to nibble whilst waiting for it to be bagged up. There is sometimes a wait when they are busy but in my opinion it is well worth waiting for! The best in Deal by far!

Stopped off for a carry out, staff were very efficient and super friendly, food took 15 mins from time of order until it was available. Veg fried rice was superb as was the Nan and stuffed peratha, flavour of the chicken tikka Korma was gorgeous but the actual pieces of chicken were a little on the dry side
