Friendly staff, great coffee, chill atmosphere. Whilst I didn’t try any cake, they did look good and the other customer there seemed very happy with theirs.

Such an unusual, cute and quirky coffee shop! Such a niche and interesting find, I love the vibe of this shop and find it really different and a great addition to the community in sandwich. It has a really cool 60s/70s aesthetic and is a great and welcoming place to grab a drink and cake, there are always lovely people to chat to. Every time I pop in, the customers and staff are always really friendly and I feel brighter for having popped in. I love that they serve drinks like matcha, and other cool options as I’m not personally a coffee lover. I also think it's great they have rails of sustainable second hand clothes and art for sale as I’m personally trying to be more mindful of the planet and purchase more unusual things second hand and who doesn’t love a bargain!

Lovely and friendly vibe in the shop - and the coffee and cake was superb. Very much a hidden gem but worth popping in as it’s easily the best coffee in the town and the closest to the train station too. I was made to feel very welcome and had a nice chat with the lady serving.

Really quirky cute little cafe, with great friendly staff…dog friendly with amazing outside seating and decor. I love that this cafe does different types of matcha latte, I don’t drink coffee so it becomes a bit boring when all that’s on offer is tea. Goats always has different interesting lattes on offer such as sweat pea or Beetroot, they clearly make an effort to offer things a little outside the box and I love the interesting cups and tea spoons it’s served in/with. Always great cake and a great atmosphere, u will always find someone weird and wonderful up for a chat in goats! 😂 So it’s a great place to go on ur own if ur looking for a spiritual home in sandwich 👌😂

Goats is a lovely little cafe. It's cosy and inviting, especially on a rainy day. The staff are friendly and welcoming. Its nice to sit in the church yard (weather permitting) and coffee and cakes are brought out. They have all the alternative milks, loads of syrups, decaf, teas, so there's something for everyone. Even dog ice cream! The cakes they have are divine, so rich and tasty. Most things are local which I love! And it really is the nicest coffee in town.

The name is great & we were hoping for a good experience, but we found this café grubby and chaotic. It was run by 3 very young teenage girls who were clueless. There was a huge pile of washing up in the sink & after reading in another review that milk leftover in jugs is reused we couldn't bring ourselves to order tea or coffee. So I ordered a can of ginger beer from the fridge & even this was dirty! So we went to the shop next door & bought ice cream which we ate on Church Green opposite the cafe. This was a very pleasant experience, but no credit to Goats That Dance. My advice is to avoid this establishment!

Very small actual cafe, only seating inside for one group. This cafe mainly serves drinks, i did not see any food options. The cafe uses the grounds of the church opposite as the outside seating area, so it is a lovely tranquil spot. The outside area as a result is non-smoking, if you're in the grounds of a church i think it is fair. I had a pot of tea (£2.50), and it was a fabulous pot of tea, lovely flavour, best tea i have had from a cafe in a long time. There were a range of iced drinks and coffee available too.

The chai was amazing, served so beautifully- service was brilliant and couldn’t fault. Latte was good as well, and the Victoria sponge fab. Children enjoyed an ice cream and the dog was also offered a snack. Great choice of hot drinks. The coffee shop is unique- local art on the walls, and the children found a retro Wallace and Gromit toy which was a hit. Shame all the vegan cake was gone when we arrived at 2pm, it had been a really busy day but next time I will have to order them all.

Having been here a number of times over the last couple of years and always recommended it, the last twice has been disappointing. We arrived about 11.30am today. They had no cold drinks available other than sparkling water due to being a busy week apparently (the same thing we were told when we last visited), the iced coffee was like nothing we have experienced before - appearing to be just cold, black coffee, the sink was piled with unwashed crockery, but my biggest concern was when a customer (?) brought a small, china milk jug back in and I watched in horror as the staff member poured the contents into one of the metal jugs that are used when making hot drinks. I should have questioned this and made sure that it was being disposed of and not reused. Instead I left, having paid for our order knowing that this is unfortunately the last time we will visit. I know they get busy and the kitchen / serving area is tiny but I really think some changes need to be made. On the upside the cake was very nice

An antidote to ghastly coffee chains, this tiny cafe is totally individual, with artworks, cushions, colour; it's a bit like the kasbah, very exotic! We had two drinks and two enormous slices of locally made cake for a very reasonable £7; the previous contributor complaining that he used to be able to purchase came here for £1 has had it good for a long time, I should say! It's like having coffee (and cake) in someone's living room. Had some nice chats with the owner who even wanted to give me a discount on my last day! The coffee is slow roasted and he has different batches each day - At only £2 a cup, not only tasty & hot, but also great value. Then we get onto the cake. He has a lady who makes him 2 different cakes each day. My partner & I sampled over our visits - Coffee, Lemon Drizzle, Apple, Lemon & Blueberry, Fruit Cake & Victoria Sponge - All were fantasic & again incredible value at £1 a slice. - Only been back home for a day & already want to go back - If you like Coffee & Cake, don't go to Sandwich without trying this place. It has open style seating and everyone is so friendly and talkative plus there's some glorious artwork adorns the walls. Jonny has a fantastic place here and Paulines cakes are to die for. Next time I am your way guys I will be back without hesitation. Also the students, Connor and his mate, were fantastic and really looked after us..

We were just looking around for a hot drink and we noticed their signage by the church. Short walk around the church and there was this lovely little coffee shop. Not big, but very friendly with outside seating for good weather. We ordered 2 coffees and sat outside by the church and our order was bought out to us. The coffee was one of the best we have ever tasted. Who ever wants to drink nation wide big brand coffee again. The people in Sandwich are so lucky.

I came across this lovely cafe by chance, and am so glad I did - friendly & helpful staff provided me with a map/guide to the town as well as an excellent cappuccino and iced water. Seats inside and - with a view of the church - outside, and a bookcase of books to borrow. Another gem in my collection of independent coffeeshops

Great coffee, far better than the chains in every way. Don't miss it as there isn't another like it.

We were cycling on the Kent coast on Sunday and needed coffee so dropped into Sandwich, a small, charming town. We passed a huge Costa but wanted to find a locally owned cafe - thus we came across Goats That Dance, a small cafe with seats and tables on the pedestrianised street outside. 2 superb flat whites and a generous slice of delicious lemon cake - all for £5! Add in excellent, friendly service, being situated opposite a historic and beautiful church and the chance to enjoy your coffee in the sun (or shade) and I think Goats That Dance might just be the most perfect cafe I've come across in the UK!

The coffee is made with care using the finest beans. The cups & cutlery are unique making the drinking of the coffee a wonderful experience. It is by far the very best coffee I've had in all of Kent.

Popped in for coffee and cake and wasn’t disappointed. Johnny was chatty and apologetic at our short wait. He knows his coffee which was tophole and gave us info on the blend too. The coffee cake was £1 for a huge slice and was fresh and tasty. I love to find an independent cafe and this is one of the best.

Spire’s Cafe - true hospitality. It’s not modern or has amazing decor. It’s an old church, converted into a cafe. We left our airb&b and walked around Deal and couldn’t find one that could set all 9 of us until we chanced upon Spire’s Cafe at 11am still serving breakfast!! The lady showed us into a side room. Yes, it has mismatched furniture (but I’d gladly bring home one of the dining tables which is most likely an antique!). We were served a full English breakfast with coffee (latte, cappuccino or whatever is your favourite) or tea. Then we were gifted with Bubble & Squeek!! (For those of us not familiar with this, it’s basically fried vegetables - potatoes, cauliflower, broccoli - or any leftover vegetables). And all just £8 each. Add £2 for two pieces of hash brown!

Excellent. Looked up "best bacon sandwich" and this place came up. It did not disappoint..... had a bacon bap and it was loaded with bacon on a soft lightly toasted bap. Wife had sausage and onion bap and was equally impressed. The dog loved his tit bits handed under the table. Coffee was beautiful too. Thank you.

Fantastic place for coffee, breakfast, lunch or cake. Food is always great, as is the coffee, and the character of the building makes this a really nice place to while away the hours. Best of all though are the lovely, lovely staff who are so warm and welcoming, and an absolute pleasure to have got to know over the past 2 plus years. It's almost like my 2nd home as I spend so much time here. 😊 😊

Atmosphere was very good. Value for money fantastic. I came to sandwich for a short break and ventured out for a pint. After stopping at The Red Cow and being relieved of £7 for a pint of Neckoil (I thought I was back in chislehurst) I left and stumbled 1 minute around the corner to The New Inn and was happy to only pay £3.95 for a pint of stella during 4-8 happy hour 🤔 Suits me Sir 😂 Recommend all day long. 👍👍
