Nice pub right in the center of Dover. Nice beer selection and it's nice to sit outside. Inside I found it a bit sterile, but definitely a good pub.

Lovely staff, drink prices are a little on the high side but they have a lovely seating area out front so you can soak up that sun. Lovely atmosphere. Had a roast on sunday and it was lovely. Definitely recommend and the manager Sam is lovely

Very good Sunday lunch at, for a town centre location, very good value. We were accommodated even though we had no booking and they were full.

This restaurant was one of our favorites on our trip! We made a day trip to Dover and ate lunch here following our walk to the cliffs. The food was delicious, the beers were perfect, and the staff and patrons were incredible! They made our group feel welcome and part of their family. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone!

Sam makes the visit, so friendly, helpful and great service.

First day in Dover and our first stop was this lovely pub for a drink. We enjoyed sitting outside and the girl who served us (pink hair) was really a sweetheart.

Went for lunch on Wednesday and no food. 3 stars for directions to a nice pub nearby with food.

I found it to be a very welcoming pub with friendly and helpful staff. We visit each time we are in Dover.

Food was absolutely inedible. Bread on blt tasted sour, the lettuce was spoiled, the chicken on the salad tasted off as did the lettuce, pizza was a doughy mess. The only edible food were the fries and the chips from a package. We barely touched our food and the person with the chicken salad was sick later. Plus we waited about an hour for the inedible food. Horrible experience.

A local pub with a local vibe that welcomes tourist. We were a party of 10 in town for the night before our cruise. Sam absolutely welcomed us with open arms. She made sure we felt at home. This is a small place with a big heart. The food options were abundant and the cook Sean was a one man show that didn’t miss a beat. Karina and Izzy behind the bar and servicing the tables are stunning and welcoming. I can’t say enough about Sam and her crew. They had us laughing, well feed and well liquored up. Even the locals made us feel welcomed. Sam is a gem!!!

Highly Recommended !! The Elephant and Hind is a British Pub we visited 2 twice in our 3 days visiting Dover. Sam the Manager is Sensational and make you feel welcome the moment you walk in the door. She tends to your every need to ensure your visit is the best you ever had. Their bartender Sebastian is a consummate professional and a Mixologists Master. Living locally, I popped in for a spot of lunch here and to find out the "intell" on the armed police officers shutting down Castle street today. I tried the fish finger sandwich off their new menu which is made using FRESH pieces of actual fish with toasted bread & tartare sauce base. None of the "bought in" fish fingers you sometimes get elsewhere. This is a sure fire winner. Served with chips or crisps i couldn't finish all the chips. Thank you Sam & team! Whilst I loved the lunch, it is the friendly, warm welcome consistently shown that keeps me coming back. Good selection of non - alcoholic drinks available too if you're driving or having a break from boozing! :-)

The service was great, and the prices were reasonable. They even have a pool table, which made for a fun time. Just a heads-up, the kitchen does close from 3pm to 5pm, but they stay open and continue serving drinks during that time.

Sam and the staff went out of their way to accommodate us. I had messaged them weeks before our trip to make a reservation for dinner. Our flight in was delayed and we were going to be late for dinner so I messaged once again. Sam told me she would have the kitchen stay open for us and asked us to order ahead so we would not have to wait long once we arrived. We walked in and Sam and the staff greeted us with open arms, hugs and a table ready for us. The food came out quickly, hot, fresh and was delicious! After a long travel this was just what we needed.

The Elephant and Hind exceeded my expectations in every way. The combination of outstanding food, excellent service, and a welcoming atmosphere made for an unforgettable dining experience. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a top-notch restaurant to enjoy a memorable meal. I'll definitely be returning soon!

I had an appointment in Dover so thought I’d have a spot of lunch out at the same time. The elephant & hind is right in the centre of town near where I’d just been. A few people in having just drinks & a few tourists around too. It’s very much a bar vibe rather than an old pub but I soon got tucked into a Cruzcampo lager and had an excellent CLUB sandwich. Seemed to be a few tourists in there trying the cod & chips too. Beer was kept beautifully and CLUB was prepared fresh for me along with the choice of chips or crisps. Staff were all smiley & friendly. Not sure it’s a venue for a nice evening meal out but perfect for a lunch visit. Thank you.

Well folks you’re not in Kansas anymore when you come to the “Elle”. We came by on a Tuesday wanting fish & chips and a pint. Monday and Tuesday the kitchen is closed but the pub is open. When we expressed our disappointment they told us the best F&Ch are at the Castle Takeaway Fish & Chips. We said ok, we would come back for beer, and they said “just can bring your takeaway here and have your beer with your meal. We went the block and a bit and ordered the food. Brought it back to the Elephant and Hind, where they promptly brought to our table real plates and cutlery! We ordered a couple of IPAs and had the best fish & chip with beer dinner ever. Thank you Elephant and Hind!

A lovely place with great food for our lunch as a family of 4. They made a special effort to do chicken wings for our kids which was amazing! Highly recommended it. The staff were friendly and all round good service

Well, there were two cruise ships parked in harbour. And E&H was busy as, drinks queue was out the door. Short staffed and lo and behold, a delivery turns up! Barman pleasant and friendly - amazing given the pressure he was under. BTW, beer was good and Merlot pretty good too. Cheers.

The Elephant and Hint is one of my favourite places in Dover. The roast dinner is absolutely amazing and delicious. Great service and the staff are so friendly and helpful. I would recommend this place for any occasion. They also have live music at the weekend, to meet your friends for a few drinks and a good catch-up.

The Sunday lunch was amazing - perfect place for a beer and some food after a long walk to the white cliffs of Dover!

This seems like a local hangout which is exactly what we wanted. Husband had picked this place online before we even left the states for their Sunday roast. It did not disappoint. He loved it. I wasn’t feeling like meat so I got the vegetarian Sunday dinner and it was great. The kids ordered fries, chicken wings and burgers and loved them too. We sat near the window and had a perfect view of the town Christmas tree. We cut up some with the couple at the next table over. We had been out sightseeing in the rain and our gift bag was soaked. I asked the server for another bag and a man at the bar pulled out one and gave it to us. Everyone was super nice. Dover ended up being one of my favorite stops in England.

Really welcoming from the moment you walk through the door, a great atmosphere and very friendly staff. Perfect venue for a fun, relaxing and really delicious Sunday roast. The beef was just right (pink) the roast potatoes crispy, the Yorkshire puds perfect and the veg fresh and not over cooked. Highly recommend for good value, good atmosphere and great Sunday roast.

Such a nice place for an excellent and very filling lunch on a drizzly November Sunday. Hot chocolate fudge cake! What a welcome return to a pub menu. Really friendly team at the Ellie. It is a real asset for Dover. Owner is beyond friendly and his team echo this.

Accommodating of allergies. Asked when booking and pizza sauce was made garlic free for the whole day, very thoughtful as our daughter did order pizza! Burgers and pizza delicious. Enjoyed playing pool too. Thanks for a fun evening.

The reviews were good in regard to the food however we received some very overpriced and underwhelming burgers. Some parts were cold the others bland and they can in at a hefty price. As I mentioned it’s probably good for an ale or two but...

Super friendly. The food is enormous, we both had the Ellie burger. The melon salsa was tasty and the burger sauce was very nice too. Great bifold doors let us sit right by the window and enjoy the free entertainment the local council had provided....

Good options for drinks. Didn't eat but the menu looked good for easy eating, seemed mid range costs and saw someone's food be delivered which looked delicious so would definitely go back to try the food. I’ve been using this pub for the past couple of years and I’ve always enjoyed every visit. Most recently again for lunch with a friend and it was a third off burgers. I had the Ellie burger which is always delicious and huge. Kim served us and was polite and welcoming as always. Nothing is ever too much trouble for her and she happily helped us with drinks and ordering the food. I’d highly recommend a visit not just for the great food but they also have a great list of cocktails along with the usual drinks you’d find in any good pub. They have the added bonus of live music and various events throughout the week, most of the year round if not all year round ! It’s definitely one of my favourite places to go and I even don’t mind going alone as a single female as I have never once felt unsafe here and I know if I have had any issues they are always addressed immediately. All the staff are amazing. Keep up the great work guys ☺️

We were served by the blond lady with glasses (saw her name on her shirt but forgot started with a T is all I got) she was lovely n helpful when we were faffing about for change to play pool .
