Booked today for a Easter Sunday roast dinner and it was brilliant. Large portions and good quality meat and veg all very well cooked. Catered for food intolerances/ allergies as well so nobody was left out. Good price for the meal and very friendly and helpful staff bearing in mind they were rushed off there feet. It was great that Dogs were also very welcome.

My daughter and I booked the Mother's Day roast dinner and we were not disappointed! Two courses and a free cocktail for me! - what's not to like? The restaurant area we sat in was lovely and the historic memorabilia was fascinating. It was a shame we didn't get to see the gardens but they were not open this time of year, - we will definitely come back in season and have a wander round. The staff were really attentive, especially Carol who was so lovely and welcoming.

Absolute shambles of a place. Our first time visiting and it will be our last. After being rudely told we need to order at the front before even stepping through the door, the very brunt and abrupt lady behind the counter refused to cook any hot meals. Bear in mind it was 2:30. While having our lunch, we overheard members of staff complaining we brought our 2 small and very quiet dogs in. "well their going to get mud all over our floors." We Ended up having some very sloppy baguettes with half hearted presentation. The sheer price of the food let alone treatment from within and disappointment of the museum we definitely do not recommend the tea rooms to anyone. Poor poor place. If only we knew of the kiosk or the pub on the beach beforehand.

We’ve been having coffee and lunch here for many years. The staff are lovely, the cafe very welcoming. Always excellent. Coffee, cake, baguettes and meals Today returning again to find one choice of dinner, tasteless goats cheese quiche. Baguettes always been really nice. Good selection today, but my one was a bland , sloppy coronation chicken.

The two stars are purely for the pleasant welcome and service. The food and drinnk were abysmal. The coffee was gut rotting and the tea harsh. My baguette was like soggy cardboard and apparently the quiche was like scraambled eggs. A certain irony given how close we were to France. A real shame because the staff were lovely and the boards show they want custom. Maybe get better supplies and up the cooking?

We'd booked for Sunday lunch. Unfortunately, the restaurant had lost our booking - however, despite being almost full, they accommodated us on a larger table. The service was great and good-humoured and the food was delicious. Friendly service, generous portions, piping hot and nicely cooked. The desserts were good too. Have been here before and it was just as good. Thoroughly recommended.

Fantastic Roast Dinner this lunchtime. Excellent food and service. My Husband was asked on booking if anyone in our group had any allergies. He told them he was Gluten Free. When his Roast Dinner arrived, they had made him GF Yorkshire puddings especially and had a choice of 2 desserts! The Apple and Cinnamon crumble was lovely, with lovely thick custard. We plan to go back, after a nice dog walk, as they are dog friendly too!!!

The saddest news today - the wonderful Michelle is leaving the tea room. Over the years, she turned it from a decent but ordinary cafe into the best cafe for miles and miles. Tea, coffee, cakes, baguettes, Sunday lunch were all perfect. And the ambience she created with her fantastic staff was brilliant. We only hope that something of her legacy will be preserved in the future because she made the tea rooms an essential part of our lives.

A crowd of us went for Christmas lunch today and what a beautiful meal we had. We had to order our choice beforehand as there were so many of us and everything went very smoothly.. Staff were so friendly and worked really hard to make sure everything was perfect. The food was homemade and the roast Turkey was delicious. Plenty of vegetables. Would highly recommend this restaurant for lunch. You won’t be disappointed.

The staff are so lovely and the service is superb, lovely atmosphere in there too. Only thing I would add, the Sunday roasts are £17, and the portion sizes are very small - we had one small bowl of cauliflower cheese and veg between 3 of us and weren't sure if that was in error, so the price seems a lot for what is actually available. The food itself however, excellent!

The best tearoom in Kent. A hidden gem. Fabulous proper Sunday roast. Delicious pudding. Coffee and a piece of cake to take home. The friendliest of staff and an interesting space with the museum, as well as a relaxing atmosphere. Dog friendly too. Lovely outdoor overflow seating too with the 'yurt' across the road and Pine Gardens. A must to visit, but only tell your best of friends or it will be so booked up and full you won't get seated yourself next time.!!! And trust me once found you will want to go back again and again.

Perfect lunch: delicious, healthy, home cooked food in a beautiful setting, with friendly caring service! We eat out regularly and rarely find the perfect lunch but at Pines tea room, it always happens. Wonderfully spiced butternut squash soup, a perfect warm baguette with thick sliced ham and cheese and a colourful mixed salad plus excellent coleslaw. Followed up with the best carrot cake we’ve had and perfect coffee. Michelle who steers the ship has a big heart and cooks with generosity and skill. And her team are all lovely and helpful which we appreciate being elderly. The garden is lovely to sit in and they will do takeaway to take down to the seafront if requested. Plus starting now, there will be a roast Sunday lunch on offer (which we’ve had in the past winters and is delicious).

We are visiting the UK for the first time and having lunch at this quaint British tea room nestled in the beautiful seaside village of St Margaret's at Cliffe was an excellent way to spend a couple hours of our last day here. The little eatery is part restaurant and part museum. If you miss this little diamond your life will be unfulfilled. Not only is it a great museum of the local goings - on in this specific area of Kent during WW11, but the Restaurant therein is fabulous. They serve good wholesome food which is locally sourced and truly organic and in quick style. The Ladies that work here cook like your Granny used to, you will feel welcome, satiated and lucky to have found this place. This will be your first call when you visit Kent and trust me - you will be miserable if you miss it. Rumour has it that Winston Churchill lunched here when he was in Dover and across the road in the gardens is his Statue. ( even after he passed, he wanted to be near to this restaurant ! )
