The staff here are polite and helpful but the food is pretty basic and very small portion sizes for the price you’re paying. Not value for money at all. It was an okay experience but we wouldn’t rush to return.
This is the best Chinese restaurant in the area and is always busy. The 'order all you like' menu is good for people wanting to eat a lot, and for large groups.
We don't eat a lot so we always ask for the Main Menu and choose a few of our favourite dishes. We always have a lovely meal (for less than the 'buffet' price). The staff are excellent and always remember that we like chinese tea, chopsticks & rice bowls. We go regularly and it is always good.
I was there for having coffee, I ordered black Americano that was like a just hot water, i told to the barista lady that coffee is very light, unfortunately she was rude and she told me black Americano like that 3 times like thats my first time to drink coffee, I respected the atmosphere and left the coffee for them, I recommend everyone to not going there, there is a lot of good places in this town, that was my first and last
Excellent menu ,fantastic staff , fantastic food ,great selection for vegetarian, vegan it showed how good it is . The place was packed on a Thursday lunch time so you will have a wait for your meal but well worth it.
Absolutely fantastic dining experience. It was my partners birthday and we were made to feel very accommodated and looked after. She was given a complimentary drink, and the service was top notch. Very friendly and informative, and really made the evening feel special. Food is top notch too!
Our party of OGS revisited this lovely Free House Pub for a brilliant Lunch. Highly skilled Chefs producing wonderful Food, Good Beer and Drinks. Warm and cheerful Welcome from staff plus the local regular Gent seated at the Bar. Lovely view over the green cricket field at the front with out side seating and a large seating area at the back together and additional area for events. Ideal for Weddings or Bands etc. A must visit.
Years back this pub was superb. Since the new people took it over some two years ago, it has gone from bad to worse. Not only was my main meal of pie, served with cold gravy and cabbage my companions starter of belly of pork was just chunks of fat, completely uneatable. Complained at the time but they still charged for it. Seafood linguine was money for old rope. The atmosphere isn't right, seems empty a lot of the time and the food is dire. We had a lunch a few days later at The Old Mill, it was superb. If one Shepherd Neame pub can do it, so could they. Thankfully they are leaving in February.
If you're craving a kebab in Ashford, Topkapi is a solid choice. They're seriously quick with delivery, and the food always arrives hot. The salad is always fresh and crisp, making the whole thing a real treat. I wouldn't order a kebab from anywhere else!
Lovely ambience to this pub. Very tastefully lit and decorated without tacky fruit machines or music. I think this establishment caters more for the serious diner than for passing trade.
The food was very good and if you enjoy fish then this menu is for you. I had the smoked mackerel in cheese starter and a sea bass main in an incredable rich fish sauce - very tasty. My wife had the Sardines and rosemary butter starter, the confit of duck with bubble and squeak with a lemon posset sweet. We found the prices very reasonable for the quality of food and the good service.
Certainly look forward to booking again.

I booked a stay with high hopes, but the service (or lack of it) quickly changed that. I spent over an hour on hold trying to confirm a few simple details about the spa, tennis facilities, and dinner reservations — no answer. I followed up with emails and received either no response or painfully slow, unhelpful replies.
To make matters worse, I later found out there’s a £15 fee per person to use the pool — which you’d expect to be included — and it’s not even available between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. What’s the point?
The lack of transparency, poor communication, and total disregard for guests made it an easy decision to cancel. I didn’t even get through the door, and it was already a dreadful experience.
Avoid this place.
We went for Sunday lunch on Mothers' Day. Booking was easy, we were welcomed and wished Happy Mothers' day. Service was very quick, we had carvery which was superb. Turkey which melted in the mouth and every vegetable known to man and all cooked superbly. Dessert was apple and rhubarb crumble which was really lovely, not blisteringly hot so not microwaved custard.
The staff said goodbye as we left and although they were very busy, it was a lovely experience and run very well indeed. We will definitely go backl
