It's ok but the beds are really uncomfortable.

It is old worn and not maintained. The food was ok but that's it. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Also located on a very busy road.

Had a fantastic stay after a busy day in France,the bed was a 10/10 shower 10/10 ( best iv had in a hotel) room was a good size for what we paid had zero faults

We visited the Conningbrook for a Sunday carvery and were not disappointed. We had been before and once again, Thomas, was exceptional, great with the kids and very attentive. We will be back!

We’ve just had the carvery which was lovely, highly recommend. Our waiter was Thomas, who was amazing, who made sure we were happy through out, very attentive to us all, including our 3 year old. Great food with great service

Didn't stay. I just came for a wake

Stayed overnight and the bed was very comfy. Furniture in the room was a little tired and the decor could do with a refresh. The staff were excellent especially Alfie who was a pleasure to deal with. It was a very busy night and we still felt well looked after.

We stayed the night last night to be honest now I'm only going off experiences from before when we arrived. We were waiting a while and then we actually went and got someone to check us in. We went up to the room. The rooms looked clean that was until we looked on the bed. There was a dead fly under the pillow and little black bits all over the sheets Now I know it's impossible to get everything off the sheets when you put them on clean, but to me this was unacceptable in my eyes it just seems to me that there is a lack of care when cleaning the rooms we have stayed in this hotel before. last year the year before and the year before that and we had no problems whatsoever. The staff tend to go missing but you know they could be working else where in the building anyway we went out for dinner because I'm not a particular fan of the food in the pub and then we came back. Even though we had turned our radiator off. It was extremely hot in the room. We had the windows open etc and it was still very very warm which led to an uncomfortable night sleep. It seems to me that they're not maximised in staff. The people that now own the hotel and pub seem to me that they are purely profiting rather than customer satisfaction. We have breakfast this morning and it was rubbish. The sausage was cheap and tasted like s*** the egg wasn't even cooked properly and that was on my plate and my wife's. The mushroom tasted off. the only thing that was any good was the hash browns you get one slice of toast and that isn't even cooked the way I liked it. in a nutshell. Since this place has been taken over by redcat, it seems to me that the hell bent on just making money and not keeping with maintenance of the property, doubt there properly staffed and just need a general clean environment. Sadly to say we won't be returning to this hotel anytime soon. I thought I would put this on here because I don't like seeing people waste their money I speak the truth of all places and this one sadly gone down hill

I visited the restaurant last Friday with a friend for lunch having pre booked. We were made to feel very welcome upon arrival and given a choice of tables in the light and airy restaurant overlooking the veranda and garden areas. Our food order was freshly prepared very quickly and I have to say the meals were cooked to perfection and very generous in size. The service was second to none with our waiters being very attentive. Nothing was too much trouble. We were there by choice chatting for a long time but were left in peace until we were ready to leave. All in all a very pleasant experience and one I intend to repeat very soon.

We had a wonderful Carvery today piping hot food, the staff were very attentive and courteous. Will definitely go again we hadn't been since pre pandemic.

Last minute change of plans took me to this bar area. It was nice enough, spacious and clean and the bar lady was kind and friendly. Unfortunately they didn't serve food until 6, had limited snacks behind the bar and with a teen tagging along who had just finished school this was quite inconvenient.

Useful accommodation alternative to the usual suspects.

I've called up 4 separate times to try and book a meal for 30+ guests the night before my wedding, each member of staff has told me something different, I've been told I'll be sent payment links or people will call me back, never heard anything else. We chose the Conningbrook Hotel for our office Christmas party and it was an excellent choice. We are definitely going to book a party night there again for this year. Some of our team stayed and they all said how nice it was. The staff were super efficient and friendly. The food was excellent too.

Lovely staff! It was a last-minute and very short booking, but they the staff made it worth it.

We went here for a family lunch last Thursday. The food was very nice, the price very reasonable and the staff were lovely, friendly and attentive. Will definitely go there again when over that way.

Went for lunch with a carptch up with family from Scotland, there was 9 of us the service was slow and poor, the steak meal was dry and consisted of a small tomato,mushroom steak, chips and loads rocket no sauces,ie peppercorn,Stilton were available,a gluten free fish was ordered but non gluten brought out had to go back,the pastry on the pie was hard needed a hammer to get in,food took ages to come out ,defiantly not going back

I always opt to stay here when working in Ashford. Staff well what can I say apart from they make me feel as "part of the family". Rooms superbly clean, comfortable, cool/warm depends on the weather. Very busy but no problems at all with service. Thumbs up to you all.

I thought it was a legal requirement for pubs to show a price list.Having been ripped off in the past at other establishments I requested a wine list to see what was available,no wine lists existed.We ordered 2 glasses of chardonnay,one medium and one large and were charged over £18.On querying the price was just met with a glare and a shrug.Should have just walked away but had visited this pub for the first time in years and wanted to check it out with a view to booking a family dinner.Will not be back

The hotel is only fifteen minutes away from Car Shuttle terminal. The location is excellent and reasonably easy to find. The service is the evening was very good, the evening meal was basic but the burger was very good. The room was fine, clean and comfortable with a very large bath. Breakfast experience was surprisingly poor with a urn of communal weak tea and extra tea bags provided when asked for. Service was poor with long waits and the cooked breakfast poor quality.

We went today for Lunch, I booked a table for 12 but 14 of us turned up- the staff prepared extra seats no problem. 3 of us took dogs, not only is the pub dog friendly, but most of the staff have dogs too- which is great. The food and drinks were superb, as was the service- we will definitely be back, great pub great people 👍

Meeting up with friends for a table of five with lots to catch upon. The service was superb and the food was excellent and such good value. Amongst us we had, Salad, Fish and Chips, Scampi and chips, Ham egg and chips. Everyone was pleased and all meals arrived together. Everything from being welcomed, through drinks orders and choosing sweets was handled by friendly staff that demonstrated great customer service skills. It started a bank holiday weekend with a lovely feeling - THANKS to a great team. Be very proud of yourselves.

It was bland. It wasn't awful nor was it good. But for the price I'd have expected more. The staff seem nice enough but overall this place seems quite soulless. I'd probably return here for drinks since it's a nice enough looking establishment. But with its loss of personality over the years, I'd not want to take anyone here for anniversary type events etc.

Dinner for a party of ten for Mother's Day 19 March 2023. The following is my review and does not necessarily reflect the views of any of the other guests. I had a two course carvery dinner and it was certainly the worst carvery I have ever had. (We were eating late afternoon/early dinner time). There were not many customers and I suspect that the food had been out for some time. The food was also by an open window on a not very warm day. As a result the food was, at best, luke-warm. I could see that the beef was undercooked so opted for the lamb. Unfortunately this was also undercooked, but it was also very tough, and completely tasteless. The vegetables I had were also tasteless. For dessert I had one of my favourite - lemon meringue pie with cream. I have never had lemon meringue pie before that had no meringue. On top of the pie was a sort of creamy mousse, and this was provided with some sort of cream and ONE raspberry all covered in an overly sweet caramel sauce. An extremely disappointing end to a very poor meal. The service was slow and since the restaurant was not very busy this was inexcusable. It is a couple of years since I last visited this restaurant which was poor then and despite what I believe to be new owners, has not improved.

A disappointing expensive cold carvery. With hindsight you’re paying an inflated price for a free child’s carvery with every adult one. We were 5 adults so didn’t benefit from this. The carvery was lukewarm. Very average. Service good. Desserts nice. But object to the 10% service charge being added on. Something I’ve only ever encountered in better restaurants than this. I’d like to decide what to tip! Wasn’t worth the extra £13 on our bill that’s for sure!

Can somebody please explain why a 10% Service Charge is being added to the Bill for a Self-Serve Carvery and why there is nothing on the Menu to inform Customers of this?

My partner, I and our pooch stayed at the Conningbrook to visit family. The staff were polite, attentive and thoughtful. They served us hot drinks out of service hours as I had family come visit during the day. Nothing was too much trouble. The only suggestion my partner would like to add are that the pancakes where overpriced. Thank you ladies for a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere, we'll definitely be staying again.

We stayed here with friends, prior to going over to France for my 70th birthday. A lovely welcome from the cheerful girl on reception. Our room was good, clean, well presented and perfectly adequate (room 38). As it was Sunday, the normal menu was not operating (it would have been good it it said on the website) but we all had a really good meal, the beef was as I like it, quite rare. Also pork, Turkey and hammon available. The Pinot wad rather £££, but what really struck us was how friendly yet staff were. We were well looked after (waitress with colourful highlights). A good night's sleep and in the morning a buffet continental breakfast and then a FRESHLY COOKED full English. That was lovely. Served by the same lady who met us on reception the night before, still cheerful. We learnt then that she was the General Manager, Janine. It is obvious she leads from the front. Thank you for a lovely stay. It would have been 5 * if the Pinot was a more sensible price, because the staff all deserved praise.

Reasonable choice of pub grub on offer, but you get the impression that the property needs a bit of a refresh or even a deep clean. Our table of four were placed next to the "fire doors" to the garden and therefore people were constantly passing us to go in and out from the garden where they were having a cigarette - usually leaving the door slightly ajar making it a very draughty spot. Good value food though and the service was OK.

Arrived as booked for 4pm carvery, told only 2 meats available. This was ok. When we went to carvery the two meats were just scraps and off cuts, no proper joints. There were no carrots, stuffing or yorkshires and the few peas that were left looked like dried pellets. Refused to pay for this and ordered off main menu instead. Meal arrived 30 mins later but was the wrong order so sent back. Correct meal arrived another15 mins later, pie and mash were ok but other veg was not cooked. We have been 4 times before and all were ok, so don't understand why it was so bad this time. I doubt we will return again

Sometime since we last ate here. However today was very enjoyable indeed. The waiter (Garry ) was welcoming and professional. I chose the pork served with red cabbage and mashed potatoes came with nice crackling. My companion went for the escalope of chicken also served with mash ,fresh vegetables and a mushroom sauce. We finished with triple chocolate brownie and blackcurrant delice. I cannot fault anything. We left feeling relaxed and replete after quite a stressful morning.

A nice restaurant, with ample choice and reasonably priced, good quality food with friendly helpful staff.

Office Christmas lunch. We were the only people in the place. Staff are friendly enough but shame the food let the place down. Most of it was flavourless, cheap stuffing and pigs in blankets. Sprouts rock hard. We asked for bread baskets and were told that it would be £1 per head, really! This is standard practice. No decafe tea only instant coffee. There little or no atmosphere in there

Popped in for lunch and was pleasantly surprised, not expensive, accomodating and polite waitress who got the order correct. manager was also of a decent disposition. when the food arrived the vegatable had flavour and the meat was just right.

Room very clean but tired, hotel needs updating. I have to say the bed was very comfortable, I am a bad sleeper but had a very good night. Although the food was very average, nothing special, the staff were very good. Chantal that served us was very friendly, professional and worked very hard, even though it looked like she was working alone our food was delivered to the table very promptly.

Value for money, restaurant great, hotel little bit dated. Floorboards very creaky in rooms, bath panels hanging off, leak in bathroom from condensation, but cost of stay relevant to this.

Do not expect Haute Cuisine but neither expect high prices, but do expect good, tasty pub grub professionally served in most pleasant surroundings at exceedingly decent prices. Ideal for families/groups of mixed ages where the younger ones can float between table and outside play park with ease.

The menu is limited which is not a problem in itself but 7 of us had most of what was on offer between us and the best we could say is it was edible. Bland at best and not convinced it was freshly cooked either.

Bank holiday Monday so we decided to head our mid afternoon with friends and children in tow. We knew there was a park here in the garden so opted for here.

We found ourselves at a loss as all the offspring had busy calendars so thought we’d see if the Conningbrook had room for us and they did! Plenty of menu choices without being overwhelming. Fresh cooked food and well presented, piping hot plates used for hot meals so food didn't get cold half way through. Friendly and efficient staff who were very attentive.

We had our wedding at the conningbrook on the 27th July 2019 and it was amazing they well and truly smashed it. We been planning this for over two years and have been liaising with Sarah from day one! She pritty much told us sky's the limit its your day whatever you want we will try and accommodate for you. They truly lived up to that even with merging menus together, asking for a Hog roast, putting a big marquee up, to bringing our own wine and prosecco and more. From the set up to wellcome drinks, wedding breakfast, buffet and bar outstanding. The staff are amazing and so attentive, even the weather did not phase them. Even with the rain we still had drinks in the marquee and Hog roast cooking outside it was perfect. The garden even in the rain was picturesque we really enjoyed going for a walk with the photographer. We would well and truly recommend them to anyone. Can't praise or thank them enough for helping us celebrate our special day.

Been here many times. Great concept, usually good quality at a reasonable price. Last Sunday for the first time the table wasn’t booked (although we were found a table). Had the carvery which is usually excellent, however this time the meat was chewy and inedible. There was a lot wasted which shouldn’t happen.

I have eaten at the Conningbrook several times and the food has always been good with good service. I recommend visitors to stay at the hotel which is very good value.

Rude young members of staff. No service skills or even any basic human interaction skills. Staff also smoking out in the garden, not the ideal look Shepherd Neame are going for. Especially surrounded by families on a day out. Food was nice but and the garden is ideal but they are the only saving graces.

Had a lovey Sunday toast at the conningbrook. Nice family atmosphere indoor and the staff were very friendly and helpful. the carvery is excellent value at £30 for 2 tickets and 2 soft drinks. Roast comprised of 4 meats (beef, pork, gammon and Turkey), Yorkshire puddings, garlic and herb roast potatoes, honey roasted parsnips (amazing!!) glazed carrots (also fantastic) cauliflower cheese (but hard and a bit bland) sweet corn, peas, broccoli, sage and onion stuffing. Loads of sauces and gravy and crackling (very hard) to go with it. All round a fanatic roast!!

I asked for soy milk they bought me soy milk! I changed everything on the menu or swapped bits from other meals with other things and the kitchen staff did this for me! Carvery was lovely! Love the coliflower cheese!

This review is Solely on one of the girls that works in this lovely hotel and her name is Faye. I was booked in the restaurant and due to allergy reasons I cannot eat any spices so asked for some plain chicken- not a problem I was told. I was then advised that all the chicken had been Pre-seasoned ( disaster ) Faye then took it upon herself to go out and buy some chicken just so that I could eat with the rest of the group. I feel that this level of customer service was outstanding and she went above and beyond anyone I have ever met in an establishment.

Booked the Conningbrook hotel at extremely short notice. Lovely double room, excellent breakfast and friendly staff. As we had already eaten earlier, we didn't have dinner in the restaurant, but the menu looked appealing! Perfect overnight accommodation.

We booked a function room, the Garden Room, for a group of 20. The hotel organised a carvery for us in the room and opened a bar up. It cost us £150 for the room and then the standard £11.95 per person for the carvery, drinks and desserts on top of that. We were able to decorate the room and take a cake. We had a fantastic afternoon, the staff were brilliant, especially the lady who was "in charge" of us, the carvery and desserts were excellent. The whole event was far better than we could have hoped for. Don't be fooled by a plain room, with tables, decorations, balloons, people and the carvery it was spot on. Thankyou to the Conningbrook for cheering my Dad up!

Een zeer gastvrij hotel restaurant. Prima kamers met uitstekende bedden. Kamers zijn gerestyled. Badkamer is schoon en voorzien van bad, toilet en wastafel. Erg handig voor de mannelijke bezoeker is de scheerspiegel. Gelegenheid tot maken van thee en koffie inner kamer. Flatscreen tv. Ontbijt zowel Engels als continentaal us prima. Ook de dinerkaart is prima. Geen fine dining maar echt rustic eten. De bediening is heel vriendelijk en behulpzaam.
