We thoroughly enjoyed visiting as part of a walk. A stunning pub, with an amazing garden, big fan of the range of events on offer.

The bistro was shut for a while, now they are back and it is worth coming to pay a visit.

Sadly this is our local pub. It has recently under new management and advertised a curry night on a Thursday. So we went along . Unfortunately the whole experience from arriving to leaving was poor . We booked a table in case it was busy as it was half term . On arrival we were met by the bar staff who were unprofessional and a bit abrupt . We said we had booked a table and she just said yes . And then waited we then asked which table . She responded with do you want a drink first . She then showed us to a very small table squashed next to a large table . There were other available tables which we asked about but she said no the were for 4 people which laid up . But no tables of 4 came in . The table wasn’t cleared and so she wiped it down . We had to ask for table mats and serviettes . They had run out it serviettes so gave us torn off blue roll . There was no menu just a verbal description of the curries on offer . When I ask about whether there was a choice of heat in the curries she didn’t know and came back to say they were all the same . We asked if there were any pickles like mango chutney and they said they had forgotten to get these . We finished our meal which was ok but not that brilliant . The bar maid was more interested in chatting people who seemed to be her friends and playing on her phone . There was a general lack of professionalism. We were very disappointed at the whole service and meal and won’t be going back even though this is the closet pub to where we live . Dreadful service

Took wife and grandchildren for Saturday evening. Proprietor welcome was great. Staff were attentive and helpful. Menu was good as were the goodly portions of all the meals we observed around us, and at our table, which were not overloaded with chips but wholesome food.

What a great shop. We went because the powers that be closed our local Dymchurch butchers shop and we wanted to see what Aldington had to offer. We weren't disappointed. Friendly staff and so well stocked up with meat as well as ready to cook meals, kebabs, cheese, wine, gravies. The pork stakes are really thick and the lamb steaks where a good size and had the bone taken out - bonus. Forgot to ask about the fish, didn't see any though. We'll go back or put an order in by phone as they deliver if it's more than £25. The guy serving us also lives in The Bay and gave us more direct directions back but we must have taken a wrong turn. It was a nice day so it didn't really matter.

We visited yesterday as won a three course meal for 2! The only meal available on a Sunday was roast dinners... we had the calamari and the onion bahji scotch egg to start, which were nice! The roasts came out hot and were good-sized portions.. not the best roast I've had, but the adults roasts were £15 and kids £10, not bad for the price! The ice cream sundaes were really good, we all left clean plates, so always a good sign!
