What a great shop. We went because the powers that be closed our local Dymchurch butchers shop and we wanted to see what Aldington had to offer. We weren't disappointed. Friendly staff and so well stocked up with meat as well as ready to cook meals, kebabs, cheese, wine, gravies. The pork stakes are really thick and the lamb steaks where a good size and had the bone taken out - bonus. Forgot to ask about the fish, didn't see any though. We'll go back or put an order in by phone as they deliver if it's more than £25. The guy serving us also lives in The Bay and gave us more direct directions back but we must have taken a wrong turn. It was a nice day so it didn't really matter.

Excellent butchers and fishmongers, obliging and helpful, Masters of their trade. For me they have ordered in speciality hot smoked salmon, sword fish and Christmas capon. Their range of sausages are the best!

What an amazing place, food was such good quality and presentation fantastic. Very reasonably priced. The scotch eggs have to be tried. We even had puddings, the Eton Mess on special was to die for. We love eating out and love the fact that the food is locally sourced. Had a fantastic evening with great wine and beer too which was local too.

Been on a very long cycle ride, needed some food and a coffee to get us home, and very pleased to find Aldington Fresh Foods open for a coffee and snack. The staff went the extra mile to make us welcome and the freshly cooked brownies with white and milk chocolate topped off with a strawberry exceeded our expectations. What a little gem. Try it!

Visited with my husband for the first time today. We had fish and chips. It was the freshest, tastiest battered fish I have ever eaten. Such generous portions too. The staff were so welcoming and friendly and all appear to enjoy their work which was a pleasure to see. We have found our new favourite brasserie. There's also a great fishmongers, butchers and farm shop attached all in the same premises which is great quality, locally sourced produce. A visit here will not disappoint. A gem of a find!

Stopped for tea and cake on our 100 mile bike ride. Staff very friendly and the chocolate brownie which was straight from the oven was the best I have ever tasted, certainly gave us the energy to get home. Will stop again without doubt

We went to buy some fish at Aldington Fresh Foods, when we noticed that they had a great Bistro alongside. all the food on the menu seems to come straight from the meat and fish counter of the shop, so you can choose the size of your steak before its cooked. great food and fantastic service

What a lovely little brasserie! I visited today with my husband and father and had a super meal. The scotch egg starter went down a treat and Dad loved his roasted parsnip and honey soup. Dad and I had the fish pie and roasted root vegetables, which was very substantial but unfortunately we couldn't do it justice as we were so full. My husband had cod and chips and thoroughly enjoyed every mouthful. It was the first day for a new chef, we weren't in any rush at all and were happy to wait, understanding that he had to get his head around a new kitchen. Hubby and I will come back for the Thursday steak night in due course, knowing that we will get a great meal, at a reasonable price with a lovely lady looking after us. Thank you for a great lunch.

Had booked table for 6 people to celebrate family birthday at 7 p.m. Arrived to find bistro closed with note on door saying both chefs had tonsillitis. Disappointing and hard to find alternative for 6 people at short notice.

Had a superb meal here, what a lovely little brasserie! Very friendly staff who were more than happy to accomodate my specific dietary requirements as the meat/fish is taken fresh from the butcher/fishmonger when you order your meal and all prepared from scratch. Generous portions with lots of flavour at a great price, will definately go back again

I have just left this hidden gem of a Brasserie, the food and service was amazing. I haven't tasted better quality locally sourced cooked food complimented by good quality wine recommended by the chef. He even offered to cook anything we wanted not on the menu as he had a vast variety of fresh or meat to hand in the fridges 20 feet away from this quaint eatery. Decorated with warm colours this small Brasserie has Avery warm and personal feel to the place. Would highly recommend this establishment to anyone wanting top quality food at a fraction of the normal cost you would expect to pay for the quality served before you

We have been twice now for early evening dinner. Would recommend this lovely intimate venue. Tried so far the, homemade scotch egg & roast swede soup, fillet steak, Lamb, burger & fish pie, which are all very delicious and would have again, but only after trying other choices first. A nice touch to have some Belgium beers on the drinks menu. Service - friendly & helpful. Chef - talented and creative. I did find it a bit chilly in there, a another heater or two wouldn't go a miss.

This is a complete hidden gem tucked behind the Butchers in aldington. The food is cooked completely to order straight out of the Butchers or fishmongers fridge. I have been three times in the last four weeks and can't recommend it enough. I have a few dietary issues and the staff couldn't be more accommodating. The service is always fantastic, the Chef had always come to the table to check on how we are doing. Can't wait to go back

We stopped by for lunch yesterday and wow it was the best battered fish I have had in my life. The fish was as fresh as you could get and the batter just melted in my mouth. We had one of the lunch specials, cod bites and fresh made chips. Totally addictive, and for a fiver. This place is a hidden gem for good. The chef is a genius. Can't waveforms next visit.

I live across the road from the brasserie, and often shop for fish and meat in the marvellous Fresh Foods Shop which is at the front, so we decided to try out the brasserie this evening. Not only were we not disappointed, but we were very impressed by the choices and quality of the food on offer. We both chose fish for starters and for our main courses and had probably the best fish dishes we have had anywhere ever. For starters we had whitebait, and scallops and for the main courses a sea bream fillet and a sea bass fillet each was beautifully presented and served with different and freshly cooked seasonal vegetables. The dessert was a seasonally appropriate poached pear in mulled wine sauce.

this was recommended to us by a friend of ours, so we went along one Saturday night. There was a group of 4 of us and unfortunately we was the only people in here. It was very cold in there that I had to keep my coat on, and you can smell meat from the deli section just a couple of steps down - this was very off putting. I would say it's more like a posh cafe than a bistro although they have only been going 3 weeks, so hopefully things will improve. The food, however was average, and wouldn't drag me back there.

Managed to book a table at very last minute. My husband and I had a very enjoyable meal. The waitress was very friendly and efficient. The chef even came out and spoke to us during the evening. I had scallops to start which were cooked beautifully. My husband had fresh whitebait which were lightly dusted. We both enjoyed the lobster as our main with new potatoes and shared a cheese board which we couldn't finish! Enjoyable evening on my doorstep and will recommend.

Having read an advert describing 'Frazers Brasserie' which is situated within Aldington Fresh Foods. My wife and I decided to try it with friends. I booked a table for 4 for 1 pm. On arrival we walked through a very pleasant food store. On entering the 'Brasserie' it was extremely small with 3, 4 seater tables along the right hand side and 3, 2 seater tables to the left. None of the tables had been cleared and were left with dirty dishes some still containing uneaten food. This was so embarrassing for the four of us; having booked a table I had expected a table would have been prepared before our arrival. There was no evidence of a waitress and needless to say we turned around and left.

I come here regularly on my way to work, they serve a really high quality breakfast in the cafe out the back using fine ingredients , it's a real bonus having a shop like this in the village which is not only a cafe but also sells fresh meats, fish, bread and even bottles of wine. This place is a real Asset to Aldington.

Had a very enjoyable lunch last Sunday. Service was attentive and friendly. Food was well cooked and seasoned. Yorkshire puddings were really excellent. Venue has large parking space and level pathways to interior. [If you have mobility issues use the left hand side carpark at the end of the drive] In all excellent value.

After a long period of absence we went for drinks here on Christmas Eve. Not a single pump was working and a small bottle of Peroni and an equally small (and disgusting) bottle of Prosecco was charged at £10! The manager was overheard telling another punter that they were “running down the stock” which translates to “we’re going to be closing soon”. Such a shame - this used to be an amazing pub years ago. Mis-management has led to the state it is now in. Bring back the former owners.

I came for a Sunday breakfast with my wife and child last month and had a very poor meal unfortunately. I had the breakfast sandwich, the bacon was tough no hint of being crisp with a layer of unrendered almost raw fat and mostly all barely warm. My kids had the pancakes and were expecting something light and fluffy but they resembled a stodgey scone with no real taste. My wife had a cold poached egg. I dislike leaving a negative review but we were all looking forward to breakfast and at £70 ish not cheap and not worth it. One thing - I had a nice coffee and good service - just very poor food.
