Had some amazing food and drinks at this place with some friends, enjoyed the live music there.

If you want a place to eat and drink somewhere a little different from the rest then that is what Duncan and Claire offer, cracking uniquely styled pub restaurant located just outside of Ashford Kent. The food was all fresh and homemade the selections of cider and beers are locally sourced and varied, we was treated to live music last night and they pride themselves on the musical talent they have down there with it constantly changing artists/bands and styles. A place worth searching out for a night out or even just a business lunch during the day it’s one of those kinds of places where everyone is made to feel special and welcome.

Went there to listen to the live music at their weekly "5 of 5" session - 5 musicians each playing 5 pieces. Each quite different and enjoyable in their own way, and really good fun - and good value. I shall be back!

Charming little pub, we visited whilst in the area for a festive event and had a lovely time. My father in law loved the vinyls and is already planning to go back. ( we live an hour away..) The staff and owner are all very friendly, it’s dog friendly too as the name suggests. The decor is fun and quirky we booked a table as we thought Sundays may be busy. They were happy to accept walk ins and bookings. They even had a live band playing which was a fun surprise. Good menu for families it’s got a mix of hot and cold dishes. ( breakfast, lunch and some light meals and desserts) Suitable for both meat and vegetarians. They had high chairs too if helpful to know. Toilets were clean.

An unusual place found in an unusual place. You won’t accidentally drive past and get curious. Which is a shame. Because it’s special, owned and run by special people who manage to make us occasional visitors feel like old friends. I have been here a few times now with a car club and the team just keep making it better. It’s not by accident that 70 odd people roll out of bed on a November Sunday to meet at this venue. Thanks for making it special and thanks for making it feel like ours.

The guys at the Doghouse host our car club's breakfast meets and they provide a fabulous venue. The service, bacon rolls and coffee were great - and swiftly delivered. We couldn't want a more welcoming venue. Thanks!

Very lovely place, nice ambience, comfortable lighting and good food. Live music was disappointing though as clearly not sound checked in advance. Volume was 90% drums/cymbals and 10% vocals & guitar. Pity, but will go there again nevertheless.

Duncan & Claire have a very unique venue here offering a good selection of hot & cold beverages including craft ales plus tasty tucker served daily from the Menu at very reasonable prices. With extensive free parking, the Doghouse has the opportunity to hold several car 'meets' throughout the year, usually for a few hours on a Sunday morning and featuring Owners Clubs such as Porsche; American muscle cars; Classic cars etc. A chance to peruse amazing vehicles, chat to the owners and maybe pop inside for a bacon roll / veg altenative. The Doghouse has an excellent outside 'courtyard' area with many tables, some under cover and with a heater for those cooler summer evenings if needed. Live music can be performed outside too with a great view of the musicians from all tables. Inside, the recent 'knock thru' to the adjoining premises has more than doubled the floorspace with many more tables added plus a cool music stage surrounded by instruments and other music paraphernalia adding to the overall vibe. Music is the beating heart of the Doghouse and live music is offered most days of the week; featuring local, national and several international artists to grace the Doghouse stage! Without doubt the Doghouse offers more live music per week than any other venue in the Ashford area and, from what I understand, the plan is to provide even more in 2025 with a Doghouse Festival or two! Duncan, Claire and the Doghouse team strive to give every visitor a very warm welcome with an excellent level of service and I highly recommend you drop by.

Great spot - we used this via Britstops so we could also park our Motorhome for the night and pop in for a beer meal . All excellent - staff very friendly and helpful and the live music was an added bonus. Great pub.

A great place to breakdown! Our motorhome starter motor packed in on site. The staff went out of their way to help us and put us in touch with a local mechanic who came out next day and fitted a replacement part to get us underway and onwards to France. It's a great venue for good food and beer and is dog friendly, as the name implies - but the quiz questions are too hard! So close to the tunnel too. Beware - all being well we will be visiting you again in early January 2025 (but we will avoid parking in the bosses parking space) !

Attended the quiz with family and friends and what a fantastic atmosphere for all! Friendly hosts, scrumptious freshly cooked food and local drinks to please all. Definite winner in our eyes

This is a great place. Lovely friendly pub with great atmosphere quality food and a wonderful place to spend and few hours or evening. Lots of music, open mic's and music clubs. Something for everyone.

Yet again another top stopover for us for an early morning Eurotunnel crossing. Cider good, food good, service good, entertainment good though some dodgy bingo calls! 🫣😂

Food was fab music was great but the beer wasn't shame .we'll worth a visit though.

Stayed overnight in our camper on the way to the tunnel. Unfortunately we got delayed so missed out on sampling the beer or the food, however the owners were really accommodating in letting us park overnight. We will be back with more time....

COUNTRY OPEN MIC NIGHT Absolutely buzzing for yet another fantastic evening with friends at this little microbrewery!! ( and our dogs… super dog friendly here) Smashing food, served in great time too considering was full in there! And a yummy meal at that! Reasonable prices and just the best atmosphere and music.. perfect place for new artists to shine and just be in the best surrounding and other really lovely people.. all there for fun!! Big smiles and applause all round! Will be back again real soon! Even before the next months open mic as is too great to wait a month to return!

What an amazing night We came here for an open mic night and ended up getting up and singing and being made to feel like a pop star. Duncan is a true gentleman and inspires many to have ago.

Have visited the Doghouse a few times now. Such a great little place. Its only downfall is it's a bit out the way but don't let that put you off. Get a group of you, share a taxi and go and have yourselves a great time. Most recently visited the 1 day country music festival and what a day it was. Great atmosphere, great beers and a great laugh. Duncan didn't stop coming around and chatting to every single person there. Being a country music lover myself, this little pub is perfect. Many nights of great live music. Cant recommend it enough!

First time attending the monthly event. Amazing selection of cars! There are plenty of enthusiasts to chat with. Very friendly place indeed. Lots of tech talk and people that can give you good solid advice. Areas to sit and chill out quietly away from the crowds. Good toilet facilties. Overall. Well, it's worth a visit if you haven't been before. Will put a reminder in my calendar for next month. Highly recommended!!

A lovely local destination. I love the decor inside, which is both trendy and modern. The staff always greet you with a warm and friendly smile. The extension was definitely needed and makes it more appealing to visit. Great outdoor area and lots of music events.

Lovely friendly micro brewery pub with a cosy atmosphere. The staff were very helpful and the food was really good. We had lunch outside after walking the dogs around Evegate, and they got a treat each from the lovely waitress. Would definitely recommend The Dog House.

What a great place! A wonderful evening spent with friends. Good atmosphere, amazing food and welcoming staff. Duncan the owner is a real character and loves what he does! I would highly recommend the pizza selection, mine was the Hot Thing 🔥 Pizza base made with flour from the local windmill, deep in toppings and wonderful flavour! Great little place! went here for an informal family meal and couldn't be happier. The staff are first class, friendly, helpful and loved giving our cocker spaniel plenty of fuss! They had a bingo evening on when we went but it didn't interfere with our meal and just added to the great atmosphere. This really is a great family environment, relaxed inside with a lovely courtyard outside. There is no "pub Garden" to let your kids run wild but none the less it's a great place to while away a few hours. They have a great selection of local ales and beers plus they use local ingredients in their wonderfully cooked foods whenever they can.

Nice place with very friendly service. Wish they would invest in a chiller to bring their ale down to cellar temperature though, especially in warm weather. We called in for a drink yesterday and both sorts of ale were virtually undrinkable being both really warm and totally flat. Stick to the lager if you go there, that was fine.

Was looking for a a nice place to lunch today with some work friend. Was not disappointed. Nice food with a good lunchtime menu will definitely re-visit.

We visited as it offers a Brit Stop for Motorhomes and is close to the Channel Tunnel and we are so glad that we did because the evening kick started our holiday off brilliantly. The micro pub is a delight. The staff polite and the food was excellent both in quality, quantity and value for money. Plus we were blessed to be party to an absolutely brilliant Folk singer called Nick Lawrence (Historian) who not only has an amazing voice and a great sense of humour but also writes his own brilliant songs. An Instagram follower for any folk and country fan. Highly highly recommended. Well Done to All involved 👍

Fantastically run pub in a wonderful setting. Amazing friendly staff, nothing is too much bother. Fantastic, simple crowd pleasing food. Very entertaining local music which apparently is on throughout the week and at weekends.

We had a delicious lunch on Bank Holiday Sunday whilst enjoying the music at the Folk Fest. Duncan, Claire and their team are absolute legends. Always smiling, friendly and offer a great service. We had an amazing day. We went for the Charity Folk Festival and were treated to a day of brilliant music. The atmosphere was relaxed and laid back. The food was brilliant as was the beer...particularly loved the Fuzzy Dog. The service was faultless on such a bust day. Staff were cheerful and helpful. The landlord and landlady were very welcoming. This is a fabulous little place at the heart of the wider Ashford community. Couldn't ask for more on a bank holiday weekend.

Great venue, quality live music, great selection of beers and ciders, landlord couldn't do enough to look after our group. Well definitely be back.

Spent a great evening last night with my Wife at The Dog House enjoying the Country Music Open Mic Night. Some great acts and 1 lady stole the show with a Dolly Parton song.

Lovely and lively little pub in the countryside near Ashford. Spent a few hours having a quick lunch and a drink while watching The Rec live. Very good beers (including one specially brewed for the pub), good food (including the icecream) and a big collection of vynil records.

Fantastic atmosphere, great prices, super friendly and helpful team, and stacks of free parking for cars and bike. We will be back for sure.

Wow! I absolutely love this micro brewery, excellent ale…. So husband says as I had the rubarb cider! Yummy!!!😋 There was an excellent singer on whom I have neglected to remember his name, I’m not sure if it is my aging memory or the cider. 🍺 We will definitely be back more often.

I can't recommend this lovely place enough. It is a little gem. A great place to visit as a family. Lots of great games to keep the kids occupied why you enjoy a drink and the live music. I love the chilled out atmosphere that the owners have created. Keep up the good work, you are smashing it.

Just got a new to me camper, for a first night out we thought we would try The Doghouse Micro Pub Booked in with Duncan who registered us with the 24 hour security and then we settled in to eat and have a few beers whilst listening to live music. We could not have been looked after better. Great food and great beer - the music was a terrific bonus. Thank you so much!! (On the camper front - water and 24 hours toilets, together with reassuring security make this an amazing camp over - especially if you are heading over on the Chunnel)

Highly recommend this stunning microbar, this is the best place in Kent. Book to avoid disappointment, this is a very popular place. The food is lush, and the service is off the scale. It's clean and tidy as well which is a great plus, I would travel the 25 miles to this beautiful place rather than 5 miles locally. Opening times are clearly displayed on their website page. They do close at certain points of the day, but come on guys, if they didn't rest for a few hours, we wouldn't get the perfection they give!!!!. If you want to eat here and they are near to closing time, speak to the owners Duncan and Claire, they will always try accommodate their customers old and new. Found this place on line and thought it was worth a visit. Arrived approx 2pm and was being picked up 5pm. Website listed hours and says open all day. At 3pm we were told that they will be closing shortly. When we asked why as website clearly states open all day as well as we were being collected later, we just got the shoulder shrug and tough luck treatment. Also there was only one ale on which was ok but not great. Being under the heading of micro pub I wouldn’t recommend this place to real ale drinkers.

Looking for a pub car park stop over in our 9 meter motorhome after crossing the tunnel, we had passed two that claimed “ample parking” but unaware you must be able to now buy smart car motorhome and not owning one we persevered, only to drop on this absolute gem of a place. Located on a very smart commercial / retail park, with massive parking, dog walks with foul bins, amazing views, the location was second to none. The venue was, as its name suggests dog friendly, the drinks were well selected and very welcome after 3 months in Europe ! The decor was as funky and inventive as it comes, and the street food was delicious. Well done everyone you have got every element correct on what customers expect, see you same time next year

Super evening at the DH Vinyl Bar and pub. The amazing Vinyl Voyage doing his magic with vinyls (I could have listened to him all night). At our table we had burgers, a wrap and a pizza, all highly recommended and we will be back for that. Hop Fuzz Lager and great wine off course helped the evening along too. Last but not least, such lovely staff, smiling and happy and couldn’t do enough. PS. Special Ketcup and Mayo sachets deserve a mention too!

Had an amazing evening at this great pub! It was my mum’s birthday and she loves live music. Sam brothers the folksinger was performing. We had a loverly family meal whilst listening to great music. When I booked out table I asked if I could bring a birthday cake which was no problem. The staff went above and beyond bought my mums cake out after our meal with candles lit and had even asked the singer to sing happy birthday. My mum was made up such a nice gesture. Without dout the best place to go around Ashford. Thank you to all for making our evening!

We love coming to see Claire and Duncan, they have created such an amazing space, the atmosphere is just lovely, and customers become friends. In the summer we sit outside and we bring our dogs along who are always welcome. Great music, smashing people and one of our favourite little places, a must if you are in the area.

Looked forward to eating here. Quite small place and most tables taken. One on service and one in kitchen. Very slow service. Got ignored for some one else after about 10 mins and got passed again. Pointed out was I being ignored. Stated they were busy. So I left. Wont be back , employ more or learn to run a bar... D

Popped in tonight for a quick pre-weekend drink. One of my most favourite places ever! Where to even start - the atmosphere, the setting, the service, the vinyls, the fabulous black board ‘rules’, the range of drinks, the wonderful smelling and looking food . Duncan and Claire are simply the best hosts

This place is a hidden gem ... all you want in a pub... great atmosphere, great food and the landlord is very welcoming we went on a Thursday and it was open mike night Wasnt too loud as to smother the place with sound, and was pure entertainment AND... the chips are to die for... cooked to perfection great choice of food... go there today!!!

We are Scooter Club of all ages and meet on a regular basis every Mount. We had herd of the Dog House and chose to have a meet there and my god what a brilliant Chose. From the moment we all arrived the Landlord and staff was amazing friendly polite and nothing was to much trouble. We Range from our 18 to 80 years and that not a easy bunch to please. Fantastic beers and Coffee and the Bowls of Chips cooked to perfection and believe me we know good chips. This place is a little gem in a amazing little place. They was a open Mike night that was for all tastes, with out doubt this will be a little local for us.

Cosy spot for some food and drink. Good selection and all reasonably priced, especially for the size of the portion! Really friendly and attentive staff, and dog friendly too. Would definitely recommend the Mac & Cheese and the Caramac brownie :)
