Had my birthday meal here last night. There were 12 of us, and with a large order of steaks, everything came out perfect and on time. The food is a massive 10/10. The service was faultless and will definitely be back. Thanks again Stubbs! 👍🏻

I don't do many reviews but this deserves one by far. The food was top quality and it's not often somewhere makes a place somewhere special. Albeit the food was top and very reasonable for the high quality in every dish. Apart from that the people that that worked there were so amazing and attentive. Bernadette looked after us mainly and made our dining extra special. Everyone was more than helpful and usually don't have this friendly exchange in somewhere that went above and beyond. This will now be our special place and we can't wait to back. Jessica and Joe

Shared a fantastic meal with my beautiful wife for our wedding anniversary. First time and won’t be the last. The food was exceptional. Real fine dining, the quality and the value were amazing. All of the staff were so friendly and not pretentious- they all seemed to just be themselves. Bernadette made the evening fantastic for us both. She’s a credit to the restaurant as I’m sure the owner is well aware. And judging by the staff I’d say they have a very very good employer. Can’t wait to come back. Wish we could have left 6 stars!!

We were a party of 13, celebrating an 80th and 60th birthday; from 1st communication until the time we left on the day we received 5* treatment. The food was excellent, the service was absolutely perfect; massive shout out to Scott in particular, who was friendly, patient, attentive and informative, but all staff involved with our party were fabulous. What a great atmosphere/ambience and considering the size of our party they all did brilliantly! Definitely recommend this restaurant and can’t wait to return.

Always a pleasure eating at Stubbs, great food, great atmosphere and excellent service. Love the sushi, oysters and we'll, everything else on the menu.

My husband and I have been to Stubbs 3 times now, and have been completely delighted each and every time. We have really good restaurants near where we live, but will happily drive almost an hour to return to Stubbs each time. The steaks are the best we've had (including from top London restaurants), the atmosphere is sophisticated but also laid back, and it's great value. We couldn't recommend Stubbs more highly and can't wait to return.

Food was good. Staff were very stressed and had to reassign our table. For the last 30 or 40 minutes, 3 staff were running about trying to sort out a table for a large party and loudly disagreeing on how to do so. Once they arrived they were very loud and we were forgotten due to the table setup and trying to sort them out. Several tables had insufficient service due to these troubles. Staff evidently overstretched and restaurant overbooked so unable to cope during a busy service.

A lovely restaurant with good menu selection - great food - attention to detail - attentive staff - polite efficient and friendly Car Parking was barely enough for the volume of customers and it did get a tad cold by 20:20. Definitely worth visiting and I’m hard to please - apparently…

Another trip to Stubbs and another great experience. The set lunch menu is amazing value for money for choice and quality. Staff are exceptional. This is by far my favourite restaurant and we are looking forward to trying Stubbs al fresco in the Summer.

I've dined at Stubbs twice, and both times, I was blown away by the quality and flavour of the food. Every dish is beautifully presented, and the service is excellent. The atmosphere is pleasant, even during the busy Christmas season. The restaurant has a nice dimly-lit design and the tables are spaced apart and arranged well. The staff are incredibly accommodating to special requests and make you feel welcome from the moment you arrive.

Stubb restaurant Ashford UK is the best steak I have ever eaten, it is more delicious and well cooked and the taste of the meat is perfect, I definitely recommend it

Food was delicious and portions are generous. The only thing that let the meal down was service was a little slow. Maybe I'm being picky but at the price you pay for food you what top tier service. The main one that annoyed me was the 30min wait for a glass of tap water... other than that staff we're very friendly and helpful.

Went to Stubbs for supper last night- first visit there, but had been to several of the predecessor pubs. Delicious food and excellent service. The portion sizes are very generous and all the food is cooked with very high quality ingredients. Hope to return very soon.

Way to many people crammed into the bar literally on top of each other large parties and groups made it for a very loud place to eat myself personally wouldn't go again .but may suit others

Very nice vegan sushi but a bit disappointing as the only vegan main option on the festive menu. Would have liked there to be a nut roast or wellington or something a bit more traditional. Especially we the sushi is on the regular menu too. Chocolate cake dessert was delicious and incredibly generous portion size. Great service and ambience

Incredible place, amazing ambience, atmosphere is extremely relaxing while maintaining a standard of elegance and class. Prices are very reasonable for the hospitality you recieve. The food is astounding, highly recommended for social events, date nights or family celebrations. Can't remember the name of lass I spoke to at front of house but she was extremely polite and helpful while serving me. From the welcoming to the dining, the whole experience was stress free and humbling. Highly recommended establishment. 10/10 service. 10/10 cleanliness. 10/10 food and drink selection. 10/10 location. 10/10 parking. 10/10 ease of service. 10/10 dining.

I've picked the Filet steak both times I've eaten here and would give them 10/10. Perfectly cooked melt in the mouth cut with peppercorn sauce. They do have a good choice of other dishes as well. Recommend the Bistro on a rainy, miserable day. 3rd visit. Still great. Another fillet steak and the other half had Sea Bass as her main that was delicious as well. Truffle Taramasalata and Baked Brie starters really made it hard to put away every course but as we dont go out much we had to have desert as well.

Visually, this gastro-pub is lovely in the evening. Just the right balance of dark shadows, candlelight, wood panelling and humming buzz of diners to create a really special ambiance. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive in the pre-Christmas rush. Food was good, with both the lobster and the burger being delicious and well prepared. The decorations for Christmas were a nice touch, and it’s definitely a place we’d revisit.

A fantastic family favourite with excellent food, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere, we visit at least once a week! Stubbs is hands down our favourite restaurant, and it's no surprise that we make a point of visiting at least once a week. The combination of excellent food, friendly staff, and a wonderful setting makes it a place we always look forward to returning to. What sets Stubbs apart is the consistently high quality of everything on the menu. Whether you’re looking for fish, lobster, steak, or a burger, every dish is faultless and always cooked to perfection. The cocktails and Guinness are always served exactly as they should be. One of the things we appreciate most is that you can order anything off the menu and know it will always be nice. The staff are another reason we keep coming back. Eva, the main hostess, deserves a special mention for the warm and welcoming impression she gives at the entrance. She works incredibly hard to ensure that every guest is happy, and her efforts don’t go unnoticed. Lucio, one of the waiters, is always cheerful, professional, and friendly, making every meal even more enjoyable. While Stubbs can get extremely busy even on weekdays, it’s not uncommon to see every table full, along with several large groups of twelve or more people. We’ve dined here both as a couple and as a family, and even though weekends can be noisy and bustling, (my youngest prefers the quieter weekday visits.) However, we are always happy to dine here, no matter the day, as there’s always a great mix of people and families. A standout feature of Stubbs is the absence of any "discretionary" service charge, which we often see added to the bill at some other restaurants. We always try to tip the staff generously because we recognise how hard they work under pressure to ensure everything runs smoothly in such a busy environment but it's so nice for you to have the choice of your own. When choosing foor our favourites are the starters of brie and toast, and tempura prawns, followed by the steak with peppercorn sauce and the Blues Burger often with a side of lobster. For dessert, we often choose choclate cake or the ice cream with brandy snap basket. We have also tried many cocktails here and the Mojito is one of our favourites. Whenever we've had a challenging week, we head straight to Stubbs for a meal that never fails to lift our spirits and round off the week on a high note. We can’t wait for our next visit!

Food is overpriced. Service was very slow. Meals took nearly an hour to arrive as did the deserts.

This restaurant is a real favourite for our family celebrations. Recently we had my mum's 85th and a party of 12. It was a really busy night, but Sally on reception made sure everything went exactly to plan, and Eva decorated our table with the items we had brought, so we could relax and have a pre-meal drink in the champagne bar with the family. Superb service, and the Staff at Stubbs always go the 'extra mile'. Love everything about Stubbs, thank you all - such a great team.

This was our first time at Stubbs as meeting friends. The staff were very friendly & helpful, food was lovely, quite big portions so glad I didn't have a starter . Overall experience was very pleasant, nice place to go for a special occasion.

Consistently good food and friendly, efficient service in a calm and upmarket setting. Nothing not to like. The pork belly was particularly good and the dessert selection is brilliant.

We have booked the table on Saturday to celebrate my eldest birthday. He has some learning difficulties, waitress serving us recognised it straight away and staff had acted upon it straight away. Evening could have turned completely differently if it wasn't for Hannah. So thank you very much for making our evening extremely enjoyable with superb food and excellent service.

Honestly was so amazing, me and my partner went there for our anniversary and they gave us a lovely rose and a congratulatory letter. Food was outstanding and service was just as amazing, would definitely go back!!

First time visit as a group of 11 on a packed Friday night. Great selection available on the menu, staff friendly and helpful particularly with two food allergies in our group. You get the feeling that nothing is too much trouble for them. Will definitely be back.

A real gem of a place. This was our second visit as a party of 9 this time. The staff were so friendly and attentive from the moment we arrived till it was time to leave. The food is amazing, but combined with the service, decor and atmosphere, it makes a visit into an experience. If I could give 6 stars, I would.

Visited Stubbs on a Sunday lunchtime with 13 family members for my husband’s birthday. The food was very good, with plenty of choice (especially for vegetarians or non-eat meaters). Our waiter, Scott, was exceptional! He was extremely attentive and we never had to ask for anything; he was always one step ahead of us and asking if there was anything we needed. Thank you Scott for such an enjoyable visit!

I can’t give in words as much praise as Stubbs deserve. As a coeliac sometimes it’s very hard to find a trustworthy, reliable restaurant where you feel safe eating. Stubbs ticks all the boxes, with a separate gluten free well thought out menu, highly trained staff, it’s an absolute delight. The food quality is outstanding and a very rare treat to have onion rings and an amazing peppercorn sauce as standard. Sally looked after us and the service from start to finish was faultless. I also had a fudge cake preview that was to die for, light, fluffy with a lovely rich flavour, my family members all tried it saying it was amazing and they wouldn’t have even known it was gluten free. They have some amazing chefs. We will definitely be long term repeat customers.

Fantastic food, well priced and lots of it. I'm a huge person and was full by half way through my main. Only negative was the receptionist who seemed annoyed that we'd turned up without a reservation (having checked there was spaces online) and was going to make us wait for 45 minutes until someone overruled them and sat us immediately

Really impressed with the food and the staff attentiveness. We went to the restaurant for my mums birthday. The waiter even brought her some complimentary ice cream at the end of our meal and wished her a happy birthday, it’s the little things that mean a lot!

Sham!! We've been to Stubbs a few times and had really good experiences, recommended and took some friends with us for lunch recently (Steaks). All the food was unfortunately over seasoned with salt to the point my glasses were steaming up as my face was perspiring so much. We are not complainers but had to raise the point with the staff. The complaint was to be raised with the chef, and we were going to be given more fries that wouldn't be salted. Ordered more drinks, which, when delivered, were incorrect and had to be sent back, unsalted fries failed to arrive. What a shame as service and food has always been brilliant, but on this occasion, it was a bit of a disaster. Guys, please ensure food is not over salted.

Visited on Sunday afternoon, menu is varied, interior is very nice and service was exceptional. Food was lovely, had steak for main and cooked to perfection. Definitely worth a visit.

We turned up on the off chance after trying unsuccessfully to make a reservation online. Fella on the entrance was a great communicator and seated us straight away. The service was fantastic and all the staff were really polite. Complimentary nachos with a salsa dip were brought to our table while we looked at the menu. We had the broccoli and stilton soup and the classic prawn cocktail followed by the chicken schnitzel and the duck. All beautifully presented and flavoursome. Restaurant was exceptionally clean and tidy as were the washroom facilities.

Called and booked at 8.30 for a table at 9. Arrived at 9.05pm for an impromptu celebratory meal with my wife. We were directed towards our seats, which were not quite ready but after a short wait we got seated and were looked after well, our drinks arrived quickly but the noise and atmosphere was too loud and not that of a restaurant, priced like this. Very loud and almost like a wetherspoons that you would pay £25 instead of the £78.80 we paid. I ordered 6 oysters for starter, which were good although the dish they were served on was too high and it took up too much of the table and blocked the view of my beautiful wife from me. My wife had tempura veg with no problems. I opted for the Skate which was perfectly cooked, my fries were soggy and cold. The broccoli was hard and undercooked. My Wife had the Greek burger, which she was not happy with. The halloumi was dry and overcooked, I tried some and agreed with her, her plate was left half eaten as she was not happy with the food. I was asked by the waitress if everthing was ok, I replied, "Hmm not great then the general manager came over and asked the same and I said the same. I ate my food and then my wife left for the toilet and the waiter came and asked for me to pay the bill. I had sensory overload due to my autism and adhd and the constant questions and the drone of shouting and noise and some kind of show that was put on by the staff. So I unwittingly paid and left the table and dining area to get away from the noise to get a drink. I was then turned away from the bar for being too "intoxicated" I had 1 small peroni with a massive amount of food, wasn't driving and definitely wasn't intoxicated. I felt as though I was being discriminated against because I didn't agree with the dining experience, I had sensory overload and wasn't dressed as smartly as the rest of the restaurant. I have eaten in Stubbs 3 times previously and will definitely not be returning. If you suffer with autism or don't like to shout to your partner when you eat I wouldn't recommend it either. I can honestly say that was my worst dining experience ever.

I visited Stubbs last night with my friend as a belated birthday meal. The service was amazing , everyone was so friendly and attentive . The food was absolutely delicious and the atmosphere was buzzing. Definitely worth the money !!

This was our first time at Stubbs Restaurant, which was for a wedding celebration. We were quickly seated at our table and offered drinks. The restaurant was very busy for a Saturday afternoon, so I am guessing that booking is a good idea. The menu is fairly substantial with a good choice. Our orders were taken quickly and the food was not too long in coming. I had the fried brie, followed by the full rack of pork ribs. Both portions were large, and tasty. The prices are perhaps a little bit higher than in some places, but the service, portion size and quality far outweighed this.

This was our first visit to Stubbs and we will definitely return on a later date. Food, staffing levels and attention to the customer was first class. Just a couple of slightly negative thoughts. There are a lot of tables in the main part of the restaurant, the level of noise was at times extremly loud. We struggled as a group of 4 to sometimes hear our conversations. We had a table booked for 7.15pm and although when we walked into the restaurant, it was not at capacity, the car park was virtually full. We parked in the tiny overflow part, about 4 vehicle max. I would still recommend Stubbs, as overall we really enjoyed our experience....
