We had a really lovely time at Boys Hall. Sunday dinner with the family. Staff couldn’t have been more welcoming or professional. Lovely atmosphere in bar, lounge and main restaurant. Quality of food exceptional and will definitely visit again.

We hired the banqueting hall for a family get together in early January. Service was great, fireplace was fired up and ready on arrival, food was delicious. Highly recommended

Booked lunch for my daughter’s 40th birthday for six of us. The food was exquisite, atmosphere wonderful and service excellent. Boys Hall is in a lovely location in a hidden but easy to get to area, it is a great place to visit summer or winter and has a wonderland feel of occasion. It is on our top list of restaurants to go to for special occasions. Located just off M20 but in a country setting, just perfect.

It's such a pleasure to have fine dining at this standard on our doorstep in Ashford without needing to travel into London, its also tastefully dressed as a cozy and welcoming setting, with log fires within restored listed architecture. Service was great, front of house created a relaxed atmosphere whilst also ensuring everything was taken care of. Food, I'll start by saying my wife and I very much enjoyed our meal and it was certainly London standard, but I'll point out a few bits to elevate even further. Bread, the treacle and oat bread we were served was a bit soft, more cakey than bread, for a bread basket one now expects high quality warm crusty sourdough, maybe some Rye or spelt through it, the bread was okay but trying a little too hard perhaps. The beef fat compound butter however was exceptional. Starters, wife had the croquettes which were perfect, crisp exterior and light buttery potato filling full of flavour. I had the Mussels and they were plump and perfectly cooked, the small slice of sourdough was okay. Wife had the chicken breast, it was very good, as a supreme, a little refinement to French trim the wing bone wouldn't go a miss. The roscoff onion was lovely, and a reduced jus that punched with bags of flavour and rich umami. I had the steak, it was pretty good, slightly tough for the price point, but full of flavour and perfectly cooked, but a distance from hawksmoor. The peppercorn sauce was lacking flavour, it tasted more like seasoned cream. It would be nice to see marrow bone gravy as a sauce option. Sides, we had the crispy potatoes and garlic mash. The crispy potatoes were very good, but they were under seasoned and no salt and pepper on the table, they were crying out for a sprinkling Maldon. The garlic mash was well seasoned, creamy and smooth, only a turn of cracked black pepper wouldn't have gone a miss. As we were celebrating our wedding anniversary, a lovely brownie was provided decorated accordingly to accompany coffees. The espresso was exceptional, high quality coffee and very smooth. Drinks menu was great, heavy focus on supporting local and British providers, curious is on draft and my wife had the best non alcoholic sparkling wine we've ever tried.

Overall good but there are some areas which could be improved to enhance the experience. My starter was mussels which were lovely but I had 2 which were closed so not advisable to eat. I would have thought a restaurant of this quality would have removed those prior to serving. Our steak was lovely but we were told that the weight of the bone would be removed from the cost but it was not. Finally, it was my wife's birthday and I spoke to the restaurant twice asking if they could do a little something to recognise that which they promised they would but did not. Overall good but could have been excellent.

Our New Favourite Place! This wonderful building has recently been restored by the present owners and it is amazing with the “Wow” factor…stepping in you immediately feel the warmth and coziness from the beautiful furnishings. The friendliness from the staff and the excellent food makes Boys Hall stand out from all the others!

What a wonderful place to spend a super New Year's eve, where everything from the welcome to the room (Romney) was up to the highest standard... so we went back 5 days later for my Birthday and we had the same excellent experience again.... Thank you all for a great time

My wife and I had an excellent lunch on 7 January. Warm greeting made us feel very welcome. Interesting menu choice. The bream and venison dishes were really first rate as were the starters and side plates and the chef needs praise for what we had - presentation,textures and flavours. The service at table was friendly, very helpful and a small cake to take home as a birthday treat for my wife was a nice touch. We look forward to our next visit ! .

Boys Hall is a unique place unually situated amongst an industrial estate. It was a rare find, beautifully restored & decorated 17th century building. Service was excellent & food was exceptional. We would definitely return to Boys Hall for more future special occasions & possibly stay overnight too at some point.

Drive into a spacious car park. Reception area has comfy sofas and a lovely log burner on the go. Very friendly staff.Free coffee and cake on arrival(or when you fancy it) Stayed in the best room,Bishops quarter,a truly stunning room.Was a little chilly after dinner but staff quickly turned up the heating when mentioned. Dinner was delicious.We are vegetarian so can only comment on that.The lions mane was amazing as were the crispy potatoes. They have some great wines for all budgets from £40 to £1150 a bottle. Restaurant staff were very attentive and extremely friendly. All in all a great experience.

Lovely venue with attentive staff. 2nd visit to restaurant to celebrate our anniversary yesterday. Delicious, flavoursome food beautifully presented. Will be back during the summer to take advantage of the terrace restaurant seating and gardens. Havent’t stayed overnight as we are local.

Mia figlia lo conosceva già e siamo venuti per festeggiare il suo trentesimo compleanno. Veramente ottimi piatti, caldo e accogliente! Alta selezione di vini da tutto il mondo ma noi abbiamo bevuto il rosé della regione, Kent.

Good service nice breakfast experience!!

Fabulous hotel - we stayed for one night in Franklin and had a brilliant time. The food and drinks were exceptional, fully recommend the Porterhouse for a special occasion. The only negative was that the bed was extremely hard, might be worth putting a mattress topper on to make it a bit more of a medium pressure to cater for more people. I also think it a bit cheeky to have to pay extra for a hot breakfast given the room price, this should be included as standard - however, we had a wonderful stay and will definitely be back.

We has a Huge family diner post Christmas here. It was absolutely fantastic! Great wine list with a broad selection championing English vineyards. Impeccable service, special thanks to Vivi here for charming our entire party and perfectly attentive service. Food was delish, a red wine jus they I'm still dreaming of over perfect roast beef. It's not often that I can praise hospitality as much I can for Boys Hall. This is now one of my Kent favourites and I'll definitely be back every time we're in the UK. Worth many visits. Thank you for giving us such a great day.

There is no better fine dining in Ashford than Boys Hall. The brigade in the kitchen really know their stuff and it shows with every plate. Service is unhurried, friendly without being obsequious and knowledgable on the food on offer.

A beautiful historic place that felt very magical. Incredible for food! Absolutely delicious! Can't recommend highly enough for that special occasion or if you just want to treat yourself. We will certainly be coming back again and would love to experience more of the manor and rooms

Our room of choice was “Margaret”. Lovely and comfortable and lots of space. 2 lovely easy chairs to relax on with a table for that odd cup of tea/coffee Bathroom was great with a lovely hot “rainforest” shower.

If I could give 100/ 10 for boys hall I would! The most relaxing tranquil break ever The house is amazing and the staff are so welcoming and nothing is too much of a problem or an ask. The rooms are stunning and relaxing. The food is delicious, every room has a warm fire to rest by. This isn’t our first stay and it certainly won’t be our last Thanks as always for the best times here at Boys Hall Kate

We stayed in your Bishops quarter room 27th - 29th December and it had everything that we needed. Check in was good and Jackie very personable. We love our cocktails so spent a fair amount of time in the pub quaffing those and playing board games, they were all very good and Charles was just the lovliest server. Food in the restaurant very good, my husband said that the mussels with their sauce were the best he has had which is praise indeed from him . Lilly was an absolute gem, knew her stuff around the menu and wines. On the downside, I have one comment- breakfast. Really disappointed. Everything was sweet! Granola, pastries, toast and jam. Not my ideal at all. Would like to see some meats and cheese to make it a proper continental breakfast which wouldn't cost too much to offer or even charge for a small charcuterie board. I had eggs and bacon on the second morning as couldn't stomach all that sweetness again. It was OK but felt my eggs were slightly overcooked. One small negative for what was a fabulous few days with family. Thank you. We will be returning.

Absolutely perfect. Everything about this place was top notch. The service was friendly, the surroundings perfect and the food was just different level. Been to many gastro and Michelin restaurants. Got to say this’ll s probably the best one. Will go again soon but stay over next time.

My friend and I both thoroughly enjoyed our evening at Boys Hall restaurant. It was a special occasion and not something we do every day and we were both glad we booked Boys Hall. It ticked all our boxes. We were treated to delicious food that was carefully prepared and presented, friendly service and a relaxing and festive environment.

We came for dinner. The food was divine (as ever) and the service amazing. Special mention must be made of "Daisy" who waited on us hand and foot. She was exceptionally charming throughout our meal.

As always, excellent from start to finish. Wonderful staff who go out of their way to help especially as we were with my elderly mother. Beautifully decorated for Christmas, with the roaring fire a bonus. Absolutely delicious, and innovative food, faultless. We look forward to returning in 2025. Thank you all.

Best hotel I’ve ever stayed at! The rooms are stunning with everything you need and the food is delicious. A lot of attention to detail and care has gone into it all. Luxurious and high quality throughout. Highly recommend.

Beautiful building, and a gorgeous room with a super comfy bed (but also a very noisy kitchen fan… sadly marking the room down), and delicious food to match the experience. Service however was disappointing- very slow, and questionable communication (parting words at supper from our waitress was ‘Good Luck, my manager says that room is haunted’)

We had high expectations of Boys Hall but I’m afraid we were very disappointed. The barn itself is stunning and beautifully decorated but the acoustics are poor and it seemed rather noisy. The waitress was quite intrusive. The food was somewhat overpriced given the quality. We had the Xmas lunch, the parsnips with curry oil were over spiced and the turkey was flavourless. Great roast potatoes but no serving spoons. The only highlight was the Christmas pudding. But the principal disappointment was the cost - we’ve eaten in many restaurants of various quality and we thought that the high cost was not justified. We won’t be going back I’m afraid

We booked for lunch straight after our morning wedding. This was mentioned when we booked, but on the day nobody on the staff mentioned it. No congratulations. No special touches. We had to go searching for staff to take a drink order in the lounge. Anyway, the meal was mostly good, although the Xmas set menu came with no vegetables, which was odd. The turkey was dry but the rest was nice. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful and the waiting service was excellent. But we still left feeling like it wasn’t the special hospitality experience we had hoped for. £350 for lunch for 5.

My husband and I recently visited Boys Hall for the first time, and it was truly magical. We arrived earlier than our reservation to enjoy a glass of mulled wine in the cozy lounge, which was a delightful experience. The dinner at the restaurant was exceptional, and the ambiance added to the charm. We’re already planning to return in the summer to stay in their rooms and take full advantage of the stunning outdoor spaces. Highly recommended—a beautiful and aesthetic destination!

Love this place! It's a few minutes walk from my house so we come here for a drink quite regularly. Some friends and I had our Christmas meal here last night and it was delicious. It was also the first time, I couldn't manage everything on my plate. They do seem to have increased their portion sizes -certainly on the main-and that's a good thing. The food was delicious and well flavoured, the service attentive but not intrusive. It's always a joy to come here and the place is beautiful.

This is the second time we had dinner at Boys Hall and we just love it because of the food, the atmosphere and the team. The team is welcoming and warm, nothing ever seems to much! Sometimes when you visit a fine dinning restaurant you can feel put off by the environment or the treatment, which can be cold and judgemental - not such thing in Boys Hall! With the addition of beautiful and tasteful Christmas decorations, we felt transported to days gone by when sitting by the fire with a glass of port for an after dinner treat! This is definitely a special place!

Fantastic lunch! Beautiful restaurant and grounds, we were made to feel welcome and we loved the food! A fairly small menu which I love and a great choice of wines (including a number of choices by the glass) we had such a lovely time, thank you!

From the minute you walk into boys hole you are met with a wonderful ambulance unexperienced. The rooms were unbelievable. Every member of staff was super friendly and helpful. It was just an amazing experience.

Review is for lunch only. We didn't stay here. Overall ok, few things that weren't so good. The waitress really pushed one of the diners in to extra sides he didn't want and sure enough the food went to waste. Some of the flavours were a bit strange, the flatbread and squash main which was also quite a soft and wet dish. Needed something to contrast the soft squash and large amount of puree. Finally, the bill. She turned up with the amount keyed on to the card reader with the tip included. The bills here are naturally high and I don't think a percentage based tip is the best way. It actually makes people feel really uncomfortable because we're all too polite to say anything.

A little gem on my doorstep.. fabulous food.. I had breakfast there with a friend and then went back in the afternoon and sat in the lounge with my husband enjoying some mulled wine .. literally a few minutes walk from my house..

Me and boyfriend came for dinner last night for his birthday and we said that this was the nicest restaurant we’ve ever been to. The staff, food and service was absolutely amazing, will definitely be coming back and would recommend to absolutely anyone. The manager should be so proud of their staff and the restaurant itself.

Lovely evening to celebrate my husbands birthday, great food with quick and efficient service. Our waitress Daisy was excellent, knowledgeable and attentive, and all the staff couldn’t have been more helpful . Highly recommended, will definitely be returning.

What a delightful place to stay. Very calming and restful. Arrived in time for tea and cakes in the cosy lounge followed by drinks in the bar and dinner in the beautiful barn style restaurant. Staff are so polite and helpful. And then a most comfortable night in the fabulous bedroom. It really is a lovely hideaway to come and de-stress.

My wife and I wished to have 24 hours off from our home some 40 miles away from Boys Hall. This was a highly successful stay and one which we will repeat. The hotel is a delight. Our room was large and lovely. The public areas were lovely, too, with the interior decorations throughout worthy of mentioning. The Lomas's chose their interior designer from nearby Tenterden and chose well. Service was good and the meals were lovely. Personally, I was disappointed that the dinner menu was the same as the luncheon menu and for us would restrict our stay to two nights at most. The hotel is close to many interesting areas of West Kent, all of which I know well having been brought up at Winchelsea.

Haven’t been for a while but was definitely worth trying out again. Menu a lot more to my taste & service was outstanding! Will come again soon for sure

Beautiful hotel, very tastefully restored to a high level, we have stayed a number of times, each time in an individually different room, (This time Romney) high end quality throughout, both with fixtures, fittings and the service from all staff. We have also eaten in the restaurant a number of times, never disapoints. Thank you, we will be back.

We had a lovely lunch from a wide range of options and were served by a very professional waitress.

I had a lovely night's stay in the Margaret room with my wife on a gloomy December day. It was beautifully decorated for Christmas and just the sort of cosy place you want to be on a cold, wet day. The room itself was full of character, complete with sloping floor, befitting a building of this age. The staff were very welcoming and helpful, with a particular mention to Tom who provided a very charming dinner service. Would love to visit again.

DO NOT buy their vouchers. This is a scam. They do not send you the voucher code. When I questioned it the voucher was supposedly out of date. How am I to know there is a year expiry when the voucher wasn’t sent in the first place.

Thank you Boys Hall we had a wonderful stay last weekend to celebrate my Husbands 60th Birthday. We stayed in Bishops Quarter ..what an amazing room. The little extra touches were so lovely and thoughtful. We had complimentary coffee and cake after we had checked in and sat in front of the wood burning fire to enjoy it. The staff and service were faultless. We also enjoyed dinner in the evening in the restaurant and the food was delicious We shared a Porterhouse steak and again the service was amazing. Breakfast was also great we enjoyed the items on the breakfast table and then ordered off the hot menu. We live in Kent so will most certainly will be returning for a Sunday lunch sometime.

Stayed in the Bishops Quarters, a beautiful room with lots of character. Very comfy bed and amazing bathing room. Staff are extremely helpful and friendly, always going out of their way. 5 stars, look forward to coming here again. A real countryside gem.

Hosted 16 of our close family to my wife’s 20 year cancerversary celebration yesterday in the pte dining room It was a very special day and all the team at Boys Hall looked after us in a fantastic way . Nothing was too much trouble and all the food and drink was delicious and served in a perfect and timely manner - Special thanks to Cameron who was an excellent host and met the demands of all four generations in a very patient, humourous and professional manner Thank you for a wonderful day

Beautiful place for lunch/dinner. We had the Sunday Roast. I asked for well done Beef but of course it came out very rare and not edible, some would say perfectly cooked but not for me, I was offered another plate but they also took my Roast Potatoes too and only 1 was left in the shared bowl! I didn't like to ask again. My Husband had the pork but it is a Rolled Belly! not the best cut for a roast, was very fatty. Saying that the food was tasty, and apparently the Sticky Toffee pudding was great. The thing that bugs me is that they automatically add a service charge which pushes the bill up considerably - this should be discretionary and left to the customer to leave a gratuity.

Had a great stay. Staff were so welcoming friendly and attentive. Loved our room with lovely comfy bed and beautifully decorated and furnished. The whole hotel has been so thoughtfully restored and added too. We want to come back in summer to see the garden in full bloom.

Nice atmosphere and ambiance. Not too big, not too noisy. Lovely fireplaces and the Christmas decorations were excellent. Coffee is great. Food was lovely- we had the shared porterhouse and it was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Sides were nice, starters were very tasty. Service was mostly great and very friendly , except that one server dropped bernaise sauce on my partners lap and wasn’t that fussed about the fact he had stained his trousers. Nothing more was said or done and it did take the shine off of a perfectly nice lunch.

Young girl server got steaks mixed up then the rare one wasn’t rare anymore….think she was novice and didn’t really know when we asked if this is the well done steak? Better ask than just bluff…..lots and lots of potatoes!! Maybe staff should suggest ratios on sides. Decor and ambiance front of house exceptional. Food was lovely…sticky toffee pud was barely warm is that normal for you? We expected to be from the oven? But look overall we had a super night and will return. X

We had a fantastic night's stay at Boys Hall! We booked the Sovereign room which was beautifully decorated and clean to a really high standard, as was the entire establishment throughout. Visiting in early December, the place had a great cosy, festive atmosphere perfect for a quick break in the run up to Christmas. We had both dinner and breakfast with our stay and the food, prepared by Head Chef Alfie and his team, was superb; particular shout out for the mussels starter and halibut main. The front of house staff were also fantastic, friendly and helpful. We will definitely be returning very soon!

The staff were formal enough so that you knew you were eating somewhere special, but informal enough to enable you to relax. The food was excellent

Lovely stopover before heading onto France.

A real asset for the whole of Kent. From the moment you walk in you know you are somewhere special that delights the senses through Boys Hall magical visual and physical ambience. The food hits the mark every time and the whole team make running the place look effortless. There is nowhere like it for miles. If you haven’t been then book in today, if you have been then a winter visit is magical.

My wife and I had a lovely couple of nights arriving on Sunday to enjoy the superb roast dinner. Particularly liked the fact that the Hotel has its own “pub”
