Boys Hall in Ashford

Our 50th (Golden) wedding celebrations at Boys Hall went off without a hitch last night (15th March). We booked the large dining room which seats 18 people comfortably and is yours for the evening. We have been planning this event for a few months now so everything we could think of was sorted so nothing could go wrong. First course was served bang on time at 18.00. Subsequent courses were served in order to maximise our conversation between courses and to give each course plenty of time to be washed down by copious amounts of alcohol…. A big shout out to Cameron, our waiter, for your attention to my Wife and I throughout the evening. Food, as always was excellent and plentiful and I had no adverse feedback from any of our guests. Went to Boys Hall to celebrate my birthday with my partner, all I can say is what an experience. Staff were excellent , atmosphere perfect and the food amazing.

Enjoyed another excellent breakfast with family at this beautiful venue again. The service was once again excellent and the food was great.

What’s not to love, good food, good wine, service amazing!!! We had a large table of 8, our waiter was brilliant, engaging and friendly. It took us a while to order but he didn’t mind. There was a mix up with one of the dishes. This was quickly rectified and without asking a main and side was taken off the bill. We will be back It definitely a family favourite. We are very proud to have such a beautiful place to recommend in Ashford. Well done team

This is such a stunning location and the atmosphere was relaxing with a gentle humming of people chatting. The food was incredible and although service was fantastic at the beginning of the meal, there was a noticeable difference as the meal went on which was a shame. It appeared the staff were more concerned of clearing the tables due to closing time approaching.

I was treated to lunch here and very much enjoyed the restaurant - lovely beams and lots of natural light. The service was friendly and efficient, and the food was gorgeous. I hope to go again and would recommend it without hesitation.

A wonderful location with outstanding service, setting and food. We visited for breakfast and experienced attentive staff, a beautiful location and delicious food that exceeded expectations. I had the smoked haddock with poached eggs on sourdough, served with lemon hollandaise sauce, which was a perfectly sized portion of excellent food, presented with care and cooked with skill. Cannot wait to visit again!

This is an email I sent them after a disappointing evening, I still haven't and an apologetic reply. What does that say about the company. Good afternoon We dined at your restaurant on wed 26th march for the first time to celebrate my husbands 70th birthday (party of 4)and we were blown away by the attentive staff (Daisy was a very passionate member of staff who loves her work and very knowledgeable on the history of the place), amazing food and lovely ambience.  Because we had such lovely evening we booked again wed 5th with a different couple who also had never been before but to our disappointment it was a totally different experience  1. We asked for the onion soup without any cheese on the bread but was first served with the cheese so this had to be returned to the kitchen. 2. One of the steaks was cold so this was taken away and we were asked if it would be okay to continue cooking it? We said no as it would no longer be medium reare. We were told it would take 20 minutes for a fresh one to be cooked which was understandable but this did mean that our friend would be eating her mains on her own, as we would have finished ours by the time she was served hers, which really isnt acceptable, it should have been cooked properly to start off with. 3. My husband and I ordered the venison as I had this last week and really enjoyed it when it was put in front of me I was a bit mythed as I only had two peices of venison on the plate and I was sure there was more the previous week. I didn't say anything as I wasnt sure.on the way home my husband remembered that I had given him a piece to try which left me with two pieces, which means I did have more on my plate the previous week.  All of this is such a shame and an embarrassment to us as we had told our friends how amazing it was. Unfortunately we wouldn't come again as it would be a risk as to whether which experience we would receive.  I hope you will relay these issues to your staff so that other customers don't have the same experience.

Good hearty food, cooked to a high standard and full of flavour, but not over the top. Excellent and attentive service. It was our first visit, but we'll be back.

First time eating here, fantastic service and the food was great. We arrived earlier than our reservation and were told we could have a drink in their “pub” which was a lovely little room but had a real buzz and was fairly busy before being shown through to our table in the restaurant which in itself is a fantastic building. Overall great experience and will definitely be returning.

Another excellent evening at Boys Hall, celebrating our son’s 16th birthday. Good selection of cocktails both nonalcoholic and alcoholic, seated in the cosiness of the front rooms, right in front of the fire. Dinner service was incredible from - Akos - what a lovely surprise as we knew him from The Wife Of Bath days plus gorgeous Lily and attentive Tom - lots of friendly suggestions and recommendations- incredible steak and venison and delicious wine paring. The evening was finished with a surprise birthday dessert for the birthday boy! Thank you team #boyshall you never fail to impress.

My husband and I went here to celebrate an anniversary. We sat inside the restaurant but had drinks on the patio after our meal. A lovely place to visit and service and food was very good. Definitely worth a visit for a special treat. Beautiful gardens to look around in the summer.

My husband had wanted to visit here since it opened, but I was reluctant as with a high price tag I have high standards. I’ve been disappointed too many times before and am quite hard to please. I have absolutely no complaints about this wonderful restaurant and bar. It cost almost £200 for the 2 of us, but that was with a few cocktails each and a 3 course meal (with bread as an appetiser and a side of their gorgeous crispy potatoes to share!) The food is divine and there are so many flavours that complement one another and were new to us both. Service was top notch and the staff were all friendly, professional and continually clearing tables, topping up drinks, checking all was ok etc. The ambience was so relaxing and peaceful. After we’d finished in the restaurant we were warmly welcomed into the bar too where we sat for a while and enjoyed the peace. It is a beautiful building inside and out. Unfortunately we visited after dark, but I can’t wait to return for lunch one day and have a look outside too.

Another fantastic meal at Boys Hall! We’ve been a few times now and always enjoy a delicious meal, no matter what we order. The atmosphere and venue is just stunning and always sets a beautiful scene for a meal, whether it’s lunch or dinner. Thank you!

A little gem on my doorstep.. fabulous food.. I had breakfast there with a friend and then went back in the afternoon and sat in the lounge with my husband enjoying some mulled wine .. literally a few minutes walk from my house..

We had Sunday lunch and it was superb. Everything from the seating/view, the service - Tom was an absolute delight and looked after us so well. The food was perfect, rare beef and fabulous roasties, it was the perfect Sunday lunch we will be back for more !

We had one of the best Sunday Roast lunches that we have ever had when we ate at Boys Hall. The food was delicious and the service was very good. We were well looked after in the restaurant and would love to come back again.

Boys Hall has progressed from being a lovely historic hotel with a great restaurant into ... a world-class destination restaurant with charming rooms upstairs. The food is truly sensational. Without question it's the finest restaurant in East Kent. The cooking is superb, creative, beautifully presented -- and, best of all, every bite is delicious.

We went to celebrate our friends birthday and whilst the food was very good the service was extremely poor which left a bit of a cloud over the evening. When the starters came one out one of them was missing we then had to wait whilst they sorted that out which meant 3 of us had lukewarm food. The same happened with the main we were missing the side dish. Dessert wasn’t too bad just missing cutlery. We had the same problem with the drinks, not receiving the full order having to chase up where the rest were. On the plus side the staff were friendly and very apologetic but they really need to step up on service.

We loved our stay at Boys Hall - we couldn’t fault anything. The food, staff and room were perfection!

So much character,beams and oak.Bedrooms so comfortable as were lounges.Staff so friendly and helpful,Food extremely good as was table service.Bar service equally as good... Gardens really pleasant.. If I had to be picky I'd ask why I have to pay a £3.. service charge on a self serve continental breakfast ? It won't stop me re booking but it's an irritant.... Thank you Boys Hall

My wife and always enjoy our dinning at Boys Hall. Lovely food, staff and restaurant.

What a fantastic experience. From the moment we walked through the door into the lovely historic building, we were completely captivated. The staff were all friendly, Tom looked after us very well and having learned that it was my wife's birthday, produced a very special sweet surprise at the end of the meal. The food was absolutely amazing; we opted for the set meal and I did wonder if that would stand comparison with the a la carte menu, but I need not have worried. The portions were generous and the dishes beautifully presented. The combinations of textures and flavours made this a memorable meal and we will surely return very soon. This is our new favourite place to eat

Does a perfect dining experience really exist? It really does at Boys Hall. You arrive at a beautiful, peaceful and private setting. You head through incredible landscaped grounds into the beautiful building with the perfect blend of modern finishing and design amongst an aged building. Every detail has been thoughtfully considered with a luxury guest experience throughout. The service team are warm, friendly and the perfect hosts, special mentions to, Sophie, Zsanett (Janet) & Vivienne. There’s much to admire in the restaurant from the interior design and detail, to the panoramic windows with views of the beautiful setting. Now, to the food. Wow. Head Chef Charlie Dilworth’s dishes are a MUST. The presentation, the flavours, the combinations, exceptional. We experienced dishes across the menu at lunchtime and delighted in the deliciousness of each course and its pairings. To end a perfect dining experience, a peaceful stroll through manicured gardens, bursting with blooms lovingly cared for. Highly recommend and cannot wait to visit again!

Always wanted to visit Boys Hall and wasn't disappointed. Went for Sunday lunch and me and my wife shared the roast beef. So much food and it was delicious. Will be back to try the fish dishes which looked amazing. Great venue and attentative staff.

Amazing meal together as a family. So enjoyed our Sunday lunch. Roast beef was delicious and the potatoes were lovely and crispy. We each got a different dessert and so got to try the wonderful selection.

Restaurant is tops. Service, quality of food and wine list unmatched around Ashford. Breakfast v good too!

Fabulous meal. Excellent Service. Very reasonably priced for quality and standard of the food.

The food was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. The plates should be warmer than they were as the wait for all the table to be served caused my food to get cold. The car park was a wet mess, rain had caused a white chalky layer that stuck to your shoes and some deep puddles restricting some of the limited parking spaces.

The food and wine was of course superb, but what really made our visit special was our incredible waitress. We loved her sense of humour, attitude, and brilliant service. What a gem of a person!

My friend and I stayed over night and enjoyed a lovely dinner. The room was fabulous, lovely décor and a massive bathroom. Would recommend to my friends. Really nice gardens so a summer visit would also be good. A comfortable feel about the place.

We have just had lunch which was excellent.

What a lovely evening Vivienne and the team looked after us wonderfully. Sunday evening and the best Roast I’ve had out ever. Roast potatoes were amazing, so crispy but light and fluffy inside. Roasted carrots with a honey glaze and cauliflower cheese with a crispy crumb topping. Well done Boys Hall. Sticky toffee pudding was also the best I’ve had for a very long time. Special mention for the Terlingham Bacchus which was fantastic. So lucky to have this on our doorstep.

The Bar offered an excellent range of drinks wines and cocktails and the team working were very efficient and professional.

we had an amazing meal at Boys Hall - the staff are so welcoming and friendly - laid back atmosphere and the food is amazing. Highly recommend and will be returning. Top tip - order the monkfish - it is gorgeous

Great Hotel with amazing food and an exclusive feel

Boys Hall is a true delight. The warm welcome, the fantastic food and the extra little touches in the room makes a stay here; a real treat. The staff cannot do enough for you and the love & care that the owners have put into renovating this historic building shines through. On a cold day, we loved the tea & cake on arrival in front of the fire. The gardens are also beautiful and after just one night, you come away feeling refreshed & stress free.

Lovely food, decor and atmosphere, will definitely return in the future. 5* overall, but we did have an issue when paying the bill, the waiter couldn’t find a card machine and disappeared for like 20 minutes. But other than that everything was perfect!

Our second visit- we love this hotel. Beautiful and comfortable rooms. The food is fantastic everything at dinner so delicious and the best breakfast too! The service is impeccable and fantastic cocktails to top it off! A complimentary hot drink and home made cake on arrival, what a nice welcome.

Beautiful old manor house, very thoughtfully and tastefully brought up to date while retaining period charm. Great service and food, lovely grounds and gardens, and just a perfect "vibe" about the place. Highly recommended!

We went for a lovely lunch and the food and service were excellent. My only negative would be the car park. The spaces are extremely narrow, insufficient in quantity and we could not find any designated disabled parking spots. One of our guests is in an electric wheelchair and getting out of the car became very stressful. The car park could also do with some investment in surfacing. It was raining and it became very muddy. Shoes, boots, trousers etc were filthy by the time we got in the restaurant because we spent so much time looking for a car parking space for our guest. I hope this will be something you will look at improving.

It was lovely here. We came to eat at the restaurant and it was brilliant. Service was very quick and also all the staff were friendly. The food was delicious I recommend coming on a Sunday as the roast was really good. The atmosphere was nice and it was a nice spot. Overall I highly recommend coming and I really enjoyed eating here.

I thoroughly enjoyed my first experience today dining at the Boys Hall. From the greeter to the waiters, nothing was too much fuss for the great team. The Food and drinks were absolutely perfect. Tasty roast with lots of flavours. Highly recommended.

We went for a birthday meal with friends and started with a few drinks by the fire and then moved into the restaurant. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable and couldn’t do enough to help. The food was phenomenal and it was a really comfortable environment. Every detail had been considered it was a lovely evening. The hotel and restaurant are not cheap but they are not trying to be. For the quality of the food, the beautiful surroundings and the fabulous service, it was good value for money! I am looking forward to visiting again soon.

We took our friends as their Christmas present to Boys Hall. The house was warm and welcoming, with lovely log fires in the woodburners. We were immediately made to feel at home in this lovely relaxed environment. The house has been lovingly renovated and the bedrooms were amazing with beautiful furnishings and luxurious en suites. The attention to detail was excellent. Our stay was totally enhanced by the staff. Without exception they were all so friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. A really excellent team.

I was celebrating a birthday. Daisy was particularly helpful in making the arrangements. All of our guest were welcomed with courtesy and friendliness ans escorted to their rooms, which are well appointed. Despite there being nine of us dinner was efficiently served by a brilliant waiter (Akosh), who replaced overcooked steaks without any fuss. Breakfast the following day was also exceptionally good. All of the staff were pleasant, attentive and very efficient. I have only given 4* for the location, because the building is wonderful with its history and architecture, Ashford encroaches just a little with noise.

Five ladies celebrating two 60th birthdays having dinner. Beautiful venue, amazing food, lovely attentive friendly staff, but please get rid of the hiddeous shared male/ female toilet arrangement ! Disappointed all of us. Not nice to use. Infact one lady was put off even returning because of this.

Perfection, and I don't often say that. A warm, inviting, cosy hotel with fabulous rooms at very restrained rates (way less than the Pigs these days). Superbly accomplished food (nudging a Michelin star), with a great wine list featuring English wines and service which is the most friendly and attentive imaginable. Cosset yourself for a couple of nights - sheer bliss. The only annoying thing about Boys Hall is that there is literally nothing to criticise.

We did not stay but had a fantastic lunch

We had dinner for two on a Thursday evening. The food was incredible, the best monkfish I have had in a very long time. Impeccable service. Can't wait to go back.

Really lovely place, food is delicious and well staffed however, I have to mark down the service, we waited a good 30 minutes in the lounge area, which only had our table and another occupied, for our food and drink order to be taken. We then had another long wait for someone to come by so we could ask for the bill. At no point during the two hours we were there, did anyone ask if we wanted further food or drinks either. We will definitely return once more, in the hope the service is better for those sitting in the dog friendly lounge area.

Great care has been taken in the decor of the house and surrounds. Ashford is sadly a pretty dire place, ruined by over development.

This is the most stunning place to go for a special occasion. The roast dinner was absolutely spot on and the best one I've had around here locally . Can't wait to visit again .

What a beautiful place and such helpful attentive staff and the food was delicious to boot! In the face of all the price hikes and bad service which seems the norm these days, somewhere that’s actually worth spending the money on as it was a delight from beginning to end.

Birthday lunch, excellent service and amazing food

We hired the private dining room for our belated Christmas team party and were looked after by Daisy. She was wonderful, running around after us all. The food was superb as usual and the Porterhouse steak was to die for!

Wonderful place and great food. Loved everything apart from the 15 minute wait for our drinks in the pub and a rather frosty reception when we asked how much longer they'd be. Shame, as the service in the restaurant never misses a beat - and is the only reason this isn't a 5 star.
