The food was delicious, as always, the service was so warm and friendly and the atmosphere perfect for a birthday night out. Really enjoyed it - thank you Boys Hall!

Lovely restaurant and lovely staff. Good food and a nice atmosphere. Will book again. Was quite surprised when I visited Boys HAll Restaurant. Was not expecting such a lovely experience. Would recommend the Sunday Roast.

This was our first visit, the venue is beautiful and staff are friendly, informative and attentive. The food whilst beautifully displayed did not quite live upto the same standard. The starters were delicious, but my chicken on the main was very dry and the jus and accompaniments were a clash of flavours which didn’t quite work. The roast potatoes whilst crispy were also dry.

I took my daughter for lunch for her birthday. My thoughts of the setting were lovely , very clean , very stylish, spacious and contemporary with a dash of quintessential English country garden. Very nice experience, the staff were very attentive . Would love to return and sample the Sunday roast in the future .

Clearly a beautiful hotel with a large, restaurant ,characterful ,but noisy. Last Monday, service was slow in the lounge and then in the restaurant. In my opinion. The chicken confit starter was very nice and a good size portion. Our pork chops were not tender and I wish we could have chosen a lamb option.I think that potatoes should be included with a main meal, the extra options we chose, we did not like. I think the food was not special enough for the high prices.. it’s a great addition to Ashford, clearly popular, I’ve been a couple of times and shall probably return. The sauces are particularly tasty.

We had a lovely time here celebrating my 40th birthday party. We were a party of 18, the staff were extremely well organised and nothing was a problem, including catering for a number of different food allergies. Thanks again, we had a fab time.

Excellent service, food and wine. Daisy was superb looking after us in the dining room. She was helpful but not intrusive, confident, knowledgeable and polite. No comment on the rooms as we were only there for dinner, but what we saw of Boys Hall was stunning.

Hi, We had a lovely time but everyone’s roast dinner was served really cold, we had to use the gravy to try heat it up. The pear dessert was very bland. Bakewell tart was lovely but would have been much nicer with custard. The stetting is so lovely, so we did have a lovely time :0)

This was my husband’s 60th birthday. The private “snug” we had was perfect! The staff were very attentive, polite and helpful but not intrusive and the food was absolutely delicious! We couldn’t fault it. This is a lovely place for a special occasion.

A beautiful venue with outstanding service. The reduction in stars is because… the noise carries in this room and we could hardly communicate with each other because of conversations on other tables; the waiting staff kept bumping into my chair as they went past, so more room needed between tables; the food was mixed (lovely snack flatbread, our steak was tough, carrots over cooked). Very small ice cream portions. We thought over priced overall, and an additional service charge added. Doubt we would go again.

A truly wonderful dining experience. Delicious food and drink, all served by attentive staff. Dining wasn’t rushed and you’re encouraged to enjoy the lounge areas before and after food.

I went for a friends birthday breakfast here and found it to be a real hidden treasure in our area. I had been to a private event years ago and was shown round by the previous owners, some real hidden gems in the building (a hidden priest room, a spooky cellar), but just breakfast this time. The food was absolutely delicious,top notch with great service and tea or coffee on tap. The service was great and the environment was a good place to relax, I even got some reading time before my friend joined. Highly recommended.

We had a business lunch here, and despite coming here since they opened over a year ago, this was one of the nicest meals and best service we've had. We opted for the grill specials, some of us had fish and others Rib Eye, and the food was delicious.

Took the opportunity to stay here while working in London. Very quick and easy route to London and nice to get out of the city in the evenings. Great food, wonderful rooms and a really pleasant stay.

Perhaps it was because it was a Monday lunch time, this was not the high quality gastronomic experience to which this restaurant evidently aspires and which was expected. The set menu gave a choice between ‘Celeriac Steak’ with Squash mash (truly horrid) and pork chop which was tough and undercooked. Side dish extras were good. Two puddings to choose from, both of which were bland. Paper napkins! PLEASE! A complete ‘NO! NO’ in a restaurant with pretensions. In addition, no serving spoons were provided for side dish extras. It all appeared a cynical exercise to cut costs at every level. Good service, an excellent wine list and a beautiful setting are positives.

This was an Anniversary lunch for two on a Monday. The setting, grounds and historic building are exquisite. Service was friendly and efficient. A varied, excellent wine list. Perhaps it was an ‘off’ day, but the food was pretty disappointing. A very limited set menu choice between: ‘Celeriac’ steak with squash mash (too salty and frankly nasty); a pork chop alternative, which was ‘goodish’. The additional menu ‘sides’ were good. A choice between two bland and unimaginative puddings followed. Paper napkins! These were a disappointing surprise; as was the lack of serving spoons for additional ‘sides’. The lack of proper linen napkins and other details are real ‘let-downs’ for a restaurant which evidently aspires to be of high quality in this part of East Kent.

We are regular visitors to the Boys Hall bar and restaurant. It never disappoints. Our most recent visit was for our wedding anniversary. A lovely long and relaxing lunch, perfect on every level. Thank you.

I am writing this as I am sat in the lounge area of the hotel. Impromptu visit for a hot drink and cake while my sister was down from London. Service was really poor it took nearly 30 minutes for drinks to arrive which was a pot of earl grey and two hot chocolates. Hot chocolate was luke warm on arrival and made Jackie aware who said she’d replace it however I am still sat here waiting! It’s just a joke.

What a beautiful place! The pub, lounge area and restaurant are all so cosy and beautifully decorated. The staff were incredibly friendly and chatty with great service, and the food was amazing! They asked if we were celebrating and told them it was my husbands birthday and he even got a little happy birthday treat - a lovely touch! Atmosphere was also brilliant, will definitely return and would love to stay in 1 of the rooms next time!

We loved our stay at Boys Hall! The finishings are fantastic, the restaurant food was delicious and the service was tremendous. Only negatives were the cakes at tea time were pretty bad and the fire escape in the Romney room needs better sound insulation.

I have been to boys Hall for meals many years ago it was a bit disappointing but since it’s changed hands OMG absolutely fantastic fine dining at its best would totally recommend to anybody whether it be romantic meal for two or a group. Better than Eastwell Manor. I’m hoping to book my firms Christmas meal there if they’ve got availability. !!!!!! The house itself has been totally renovated and has many fantastic features.

A lovely roast here on Sunday. We had a drink in the pub first. My Gusbourne Blanc de Blanc was flat I let the lady know and it was changed straight away. Excellent service. The roast was flavoursome. Plenty of gravy. We will definitely be back.

We honestly were blown away with how stunning Boys Hall is. Firstly every room is decorated so perfectly. The attention to detail is first class. The food and the ambience in the restaurant was magical. The staff make it. All highly trained and with a bounce and step that they love their job. So friendly. We have truly loved our stay at Boys Hall and look forward to coming back real soon.

The set menu was very good value. The food was great. Service was a little slow, but it was OK for our mood.

Called in for lunch with family so can't comment on the accommodation. Second time we've visited, as the restaurant deserves a visit in its own right, and reinforced itself as one of our Kent favourites. Set menu also very reasonable.

I went with my mum and sister. We didn't have to book because we had a light bite in a lounge area. It was lovely. The food was delicious. It is a beautiful building and tastefully decorated. I look forward to going again.

Everything is what we had hoped for and expected. One suggestion. There was very nice personal hand-written note in our room on arrival. However, it was only addressed to me. Beth, my wife is with me and we have stayed before. So more appropriate would be: Welcome back Patrick and Beth. Not Dear Patrick and no mention of Beth. Also In this cooler weather, it would nice if the heating could stay on from 3 PM until 8 pm and start up at 6 am to 9 am. I appreciate that most of your guests don't stay for 6 nights. We celebrated a 70th birthday in the Snug which was lovely. The service was good and the food was delicious. The only disappointment I would like to put forward is that one of the guests was vegetarian. They chose on the menu the Veggie Wellington. Unfortunately compared to the others that had chosen roast meat dinners the Wellington was really small. It looked like a small slice had been cut off a much bigger Wellington and at £24 was leaving our vegetarian guest somewhat robbed in size. Although the taste was good and filled with lentils and veggies it was so small! The rest of the celebration was great and the house and staff were excellent.

We had a lovely belated wedding anniversary meal. This is our 2nd visit and it didn't disappoint. If we want a special meal then this is the place we will come to. Service was lovely and the venue is stunning. A few of our family and friends have been on our recommendation and haven't been disappointed.

We had a Sunday roast at Boys Hall. The service was great, we had Daisy serve us, she was fun, attentive and helpful. The meal and setting was perfect. It is expensive, which is why we went for our anniversary, but I'd definitely recommend treating yourself to an evening out here.

Visited boys hall as a last-minute booking for my son‘s birthday for breakfast. Managed to get a booking which was great. The food and service was fantastic, highly recommend will definitely be visiting again.

The whole evening was special. The whole place is such a beautiful setting. The staff are so amazing and helpful and make your evening very special. The food is just the best ever. It is all local and seasonal and cooked to perfection. We will be seeing you all once a month

We really enjoyed the Boys Hall experience, the food was faultless and Daisy was the most attentive and enthusiastic waitress that I can remember at any restaurant, we will definitely be returning. Only constructive criticism was that the cutlery for dessert was inappropriate.

I met a friend for coffee at Boys Hall. It was a cool autumn day so we sat in the comfortable hotel lounge, and the staff lit a wood burner for a n even more cosy experience! Coffee is good, the service was excellent, and the price reasonable.

Had a wonderful dinner for our anniversary, food was amazing, staff are so friendly and welcoming this is by far our favourite place to eat in Ashford .

Our room of choice was “Margaret”. Lovely and comfortable and lots of space. 2 lovely easy chairs to relax on with a table for that odd cup of tea/coffee Bathroom was great with a lovely hot “rainforest” shower.

Had a wonderful birthday party involving 10 people. We had a nice drink in the bar and a wonderful meal in the large dining room. The members who had rooms were very happy

For a meal away from the trapping of everyday life you can't go wrong with spending a few hours at this restaurant. The staff are helpful and friendly and the food is excellent in both choice and quality. The environment is also calm and relaxed. In other words, the place is a jem.

We dined on the evening of 16th July. The ambience of the restaurant was perfect, the staff were extremely efficient and helpful, menu had sufficient choice ,the food was exceptional so a perfect evening. We will come again.

We had a private room at Boys Hall for our Mum’s 80th birthday lunch. The room was beautiful - we were also allowed to bring balloons and flowers in advance. The staff just could not do enough for us. My Mum felt very spoilt. Would definitely recommend for a special occasion.

A great place to get away from it all. You are cocooned in a beautiful environment that is relaxing and restorative.

We love coming here to dine every couple of months - today with my family and mother in law for lunch. It’s always fabulous, but everyone today raised the bar even further - which we didn’t think was possible! We had porterhouse steak, venison and halibut for our mains with crispy potatoes, garlic mashed potatoes, carrots and hispi cabbage - all absolutely divine. Mum says she’s never eaten anything so wonderful in her 80+ years. Thank you to everyone who contributes to making this a great and memorable experience.

BOYS HALL - Ashford, Kent. An oasis of calm within the hustle and bustle. My partner booked for us to stay here for our anniversary and (unbeknownst to myself) engagement. From start to finish, this place is amazing... Every corner you turn, you're greeted with beauty. The lounge areas, grand rooms, and manicured grounds ooze such a historical charm that you feel as though you're in a bygone era. The whole building is decorated from top to bottom in seasonal decor, no nook or cranny were free of an autumnal feature - 🍂. Every element of the stay, from the locally produced bathroom amenities to the fresh tea and coffee, had an air of class and consideration. The food and drinks are to die for - some of the most amazing flavours we have ever experienced, presented flawlessly. What really made our stay memorable (apart from the obvious 💍) were the lovely members of staff who were so warm and welcoming. They took my partners impromptu proposal briefing and made it the most magical moment - they smashed it out of the park! A bottle of our favourite Chapel Down fizz delivered to the table and the accompanying flutes of bubbles, with such effortlessness I didn't spot the ring sitting in the bottom of my glass. We then learn that not only had they executed the proposal set-up perfectly, they had taken it upon themselves to take candid photographs of us entering a new chapter, something we already cherish having as a memory. For all of this, from the bottom of our hearts - THANK YOU! We had a wonderful time celebrating my mum’s birthday. It was our first time at Boys Hall. Wow, the gardens were stunning, and the restaurant was impressive too. We loved the log fire, and decor, and the ambience. Service was excellent too. The food was exceptional and we will definitely be returning. My mum was in a wheelchair and the facilities were brilliant.

It was our first visit to Boys Hall, celebrating my husband’s 50th birthday and thank you for the warm welcome. The staff were friendly and attentive and the food was delicious. The decor and atmosphere had a good mix of old character and contemporary charm and I can imagine it must be particularly good using the outside space in summer. The only thing the at would have made it even better would have been for the fire to be on when we arrived. It was a little chilly, however once the fire went on it improved. This is a minor thing though and appreciate it was difficult to judge on an autumnal day when the weather was flipping between rain and sun. Thank you again, we look forward ti coming back!

Loved our stay so much. A perfect destination to unwind and feel looked after. It was a birthday celebration and we were given a lovely brownie plate after our meal. Our room was gorgeous and I’d have happily stayed another night(or two!)

We didn't stay here but we had lunch. What can I say it was amazing. Everything was cooked to perfection and bursting with flavour. The service was amazing from start to finish.

We came for Sunday lunch to celebrate a birthday. The food and wine were very good and staff attentive and professional. They did a last minute 'birthday cake' on the house. The decor is fantastic. We will be sure to return.

What a fantastic venue, we had booked lunch for my son’s pre wedding celebrations. We had booked the snug in the restaurant and as our party had increased in number they moved us to a beautiful private room. The staff were so attentive , the food was delicious and there was no rush to leave. The gardens were beautiful perfect for family photos . I would definitely recommend The Boys Hall

Game of two halfs. The setting, interior, decor, staff all absolutely amazing. Food however does not measure up which is rather a shame. The flavour was there(ish) , but unfortunately amongst our party of 4, all our food was lukewarm at best. Not an expectation when having a Sunday roast as a main or mussels as a starter. A single slice of Melba toast with salmon patte was laughable. I don't exactly know what was done to roast potatos, they were potatoes, if they were roasted a very much doubt. They were akin to Aunt Bessie's. Going back to staff, they were amazing, super knowledgeable and attentive, which made our food expectations rise beyond what was delivered. All of the above was stated at the time of our visit, and although none of us had any expectations, two free coffees to make up for a disappointing meal was utterly pointless. Even if you set aside the meat being cold, what is the excuse for cold gravy and veg? Considering I have had two "not worth it" pieces of advice before going the only thing I would say is, I wish I had taken the advice. I need to add that replacement meals were offered and declined, just as well as the sticky toffee pudding which followed the initial constructive feedback was, you guessed it, lukewarm ...🤷 Value for money follows the same trend, lukewarm edging towards would not recommend.

Lovely experience for Sunday lunch. Only feedback would be that the cauliflower cheese was lots of 'sauce' but not much caulflower!

As usual we had a making visit to Boys Hall. Simply delicious lunch in The Snug and so well looked after by Lily. Very much enjoyed our stay in our beautiful room. My only very very small thing is the gluten free bread you have is awful. Being coeliac I know there is not a lot out there. There is a very good company called knife and fork bakery who do very good bread which can be sliced and kept in freezer. If not, quite good bread by a maker called Schar in all supermarkets and so good seeded bread. Apart from that we cannot fault your beautiful hotel.

We had dinner at Boys Hall for our wedding anniversary, having previously been in June for a special birthday. The staff were very attentive, booking, confirmation and communication was very efficient. Food was exceptional. Thank you helping us celebrate our special day.
