Had a great experience in boys hall last night, I unfortunately cannot remember the name of the staff but every single one were attentive and really friendly. And the food was great couldn’t ask for more

Lovely food, decor and atmosphere, will definitely return in the future. 5* overall, but we did have an issue when paying the bill, the waiter couldn’t find a card machine and disappeared for like 20 minutes. But other than that everything was perfect!

Our second visit- we love this hotel. Beautiful and comfortable rooms. The food is fantastic everything at dinner so delicious and the best breakfast too! The service is impeccable and fantastic cocktails to top it off! A complimentary hot drink and home made cake on arrival, what a nice welcome.

We went for a lovely lunch and the food and service were excellent. My only negative would be the car park. The spaces are extremely narrow, insufficient in quantity and we could not find any designated disabled parking spots. One of our guests is in an electric wheelchair and getting out of the car became very stressful. The car park could also do with some investment in surfacing. It was raining and it became very muddy. Shoes, boots, trousers etc were filthy by the time we got in the restaurant because we spent so much time looking for a car parking space for our guest. I hope this will be something you will look at improving.

It was lovely here. We came to eat at the restaurant and it was brilliant. Service was very quick and also all the staff were friendly. The food was delicious I recommend coming on a Sunday as the roast was really good. The atmosphere was nice and it was a nice spot. Overall I highly recommend coming and I really enjoyed eating here.

I was celebrating a birthday. Daisy was particularly helpful in making the arrangements. All of our guest were welcomed with courtesy and friendliness ans escorted to their rooms, which are well appointed. Despite there being nine of us dinner was efficiently served by a brilliant waiter (Akosh), who replaced overcooked steaks without any fuss. Breakfast the following day was also exceptionally good. All of the staff were pleasant, attentive and very efficient. I have only given 4* for the location, because the building is wonderful with its history and architecture, Ashford encroaches just a little with noise.

Superb in every way, from the warm welcome, the setting, the dining room, the food, the service - all excellent. A top quality Sunday lunch to celebrate a birthday. Very highly recommend.

I thoroughly enjoyed my first experience today dining at the Boys Hall. From the greeter to the waiters, nothing was too much fuss for the great team. The Food and drinks were absolutely perfect. Tasty roast with lots of flavours. Highly recommended.

We went for a birthday meal with friends and started with a few drinks by the fire and then moved into the restaurant. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable and couldn’t do enough to help. The food was phenomenal and it was a really comfortable environment. Every detail had been considered it was a lovely evening. The hotel and restaurant are not cheap but they are not trying to be. For the quality of the food, the beautiful surroundings and the fabulous service, it was good value for money! I am looking forward to visiting again soon.

We took our friends as their Christmas present to Boys Hall. The house was warm and welcoming, with lovely log fires in the woodburners. We were immediately made to feel at home in this lovely relaxed environment. The house has been lovingly renovated and the bedrooms were amazing with beautiful furnishings and luxurious en suites. The attention to detail was excellent. Our stay was totally enhanced by the staff. Without exception they were all so friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. A really excellent team.

Five ladies celebrating two 60th birthdays having dinner. Beautiful venue, amazing food, lovely attentive friendly staff, but please get rid of the hiddeous shared male/ female toilet arrangement ! Disappointed all of us. Not nice to use. Infact one lady was put off even returning because of this.

We did not stay but had a fantastic lunch

Perfection, and I don't often say that. A warm, inviting, cosy hotel with fabulous rooms at very restrained rates (way less than the Pigs these days). Superbly accomplished food (nudging a Michelin star), with a great wine list featuring English wines and service which is the most friendly and attentive imaginable. Cosset yourself for a couple of nights - sheer bliss. The only annoying thing about Boys Hall is that there is literally nothing to criticise.

Really lovely place, food is delicious and well staffed however, I have to mark down the service, we waited a good 30 minutes in the lounge area, which only had our table and another occupied, for our food and drink order to be taken. We then had another long wait for someone to come by so we could ask for the bill. At no point during the two hours we were there, did anyone ask if we wanted further food or drinks either. We will definitely return once more, in the hope the service is better for those sitting in the dog friendly lounge area.

Service/staff were impeccable and food was just delicious

We had dinner for two on a Thursday evening. The food was incredible, the best monkfish I have had in a very long time. Impeccable service. Can't wait to go back.

Great care has been taken in the decor of the house and surrounds. Ashford is sadly a pretty dire place, ruined by over development.

What a beautiful place and such helpful attentive staff and the food was delicious to boot! In the face of all the price hikes and bad service which seems the norm these days, somewhere that’s actually worth spending the money on as it was a delight from beginning to end.

This is the most stunning place to go for a special occasion. The roast dinner was absolutely spot on and the best one I've had around here locally . Can't wait to visit again .

We hired the private dining room for our belated Christmas team party and were looked after by Daisy. She was wonderful, running around after us all. The food was superb as usual and the Porterhouse steak was to die for!

Birthday lunch, excellent service and amazing food

Wonderful place and great food. Loved everything apart from the 15 minute wait for our drinks in the pub and a rather frosty reception when we asked how much longer they'd be. Shame, as the service in the restaurant never misses a beat - and is the only reason this isn't a 5 star.

We stayed in Margaret. What a beautiful room and that bath was amazing. The service at Boys Hall was exceptional. Everyone was courteous, helpful, professional and happiness and friendliness oozed out of each and every one. A special mention to our evening meal waitress, Elcayla. The food was superb and Elcayla just enhanced the whole experience. She was extremely efficient and attentive, she addressed us individually about our food, she just made the whole lovely evening even better. The tea and cake on arrival by the roaring fire was an unexpected treat and the breakfast was probably one of the best we’ve ever had. Thank you Boys Hall team we look forward to a return visit in the future.

My Wife and I went to Boys Hall for Lunch on 29th Jan 2025 and it was a lovely experience. The attention to detail, politeness by the staff and their service was exceptional. Now for the food...Wow 1st class...everything was cooked and seasoned beautifully. We both had the Monkfish for main, with extra crispy potatoes & honey glazed carrots....all stunning, If I told you the carrots were my favourite, you'd think I was mad but they were to die for. The sticky Toffee pudding with clotted cream ice cream hit the mark as well. In summary, we forgot where we were for 2 hours, never thought Ashford would have such a great place to eat. We could've been in the Cotswolds on holiday! Thoroughly recommend this place.

First visit - great place - great fire - lovely Sunday roast - had a tour around other rooms - will definitely be going back. Obviously popular as friends of ours also wanted to book late - but all sold out.

Beautiful setting and a lovely atmosphere in both the restaurant and the pub. Food was great and not really that expensive. It compares favourably to a decent gastro-pub. Nice to see the place busy on a Sunday evening as well.

Food and service was amazing - thank you

The setting was great, 3 out of 4 mains were very nice and some money was taken off the bill for the chewy duck. However, felt odd to have to get our own coats from the cloakroom as no one was about to see us out. Felt like, service is over, you've paid so sod off! Wouldn't necessarily stop us from trying Boys Hall again

Had a super dinner here, wonderful venison pie with yummy veg followed by gorgeous pudding. Nice staff too. Can't comment on the accommodation as I haven't stayed here, but it's definitely on the lisr!

Betrer than expected. The room was like on the pictures, super cosy and clean. The property is beautifully decorated, the staff very friendly and helpful, the food was good and, the have interesting local wines in the menu. Quite pricey though.

My third time coming to this beautiful Manor House transformed into a hotel. I bought my friends this time for a special birthday lunch. Fantastic service, delicious food and love the decor in the restaurant. Highly recommend

This is my fourth visit to Boys Hall. I am impressed by the service which is made up of confident young staff. All very friendly, well informed and non intrusive. The menu is an adventure of wonderful flavours and very imaginative which considers vegetarians who are not just fitted in but catered for with the same imagination. The setting and interior is a journey of pure creativity . The standard overall is high and consistent. The word ‘passion’ comes to mind.

Cannot comment on the Hotel or Bar areas as we visited only the restaurant. The food was excellent, the staff attentive and courteous, and the ambience was very pleasant. Looking forward to visiting again soon.

I visited Boys Hall for a special birthday with a friend. It was very luxurious, the food exquisite and the staff very attentive without being intrusive. A perfect meal was topped off with a complimentary small dessert beautifully presented. I felt very special and will definitely be returning. The lounge area was equally beautiful and we were able to enjoy our coffee there. Thank you

We hired the private room and the deco and food were delicious. However the lack of music was felt and it would have really benefitted from some background noise. The wait staff were great and provided a speaker but unfortunately only at the end. There was a slight issue with arrival in that the woman on the front desk failed to acknowledge us for 10 mins. She was on the phone but a simple look, or “I’ll be with you in a moment” was all that it needed. I had to walk into the main restaurant to get someone to help us. We also enquired about a late room and given huge amount we spent on the food and room hire and the last minute nature of the request we thought there might be some flexibility on price. However there wasn’t and we ended up not taking the two rooms that were available. Front of house staff seemed to be a bit stretched and again some music in the pub would be welcomed as you could hear a pin drop. But it is a really lovely place and the food was excellent.

Another fabulous meal here to celebrate our friends' recent wedding. Food was outstanding, ambience perfect. We ate in the restaurant, were treated incredibly well and were the last to leave after 11pm, we weren't rushed or asked to go, although am sure they were ready to close! The staff are always absolutely lovely, very welcoming, attentive and helpful. Thanks Boys Hall for another fabulous meal. We'll be back soon. X

Had an amazing lunch last weekend, it was busy, however service was not affected we were very well looked after and food was fantastic! Look forward to returning.

We had a really lovely time at Boys Hall. Sunday dinner with the family. Staff couldn’t have been more welcoming or professional. Lovely atmosphere in bar, lounge and main restaurant. Quality of food exceptional and will definitely visit again.

Had an absolutely wonderful time. The staff were very friendly and took note of the fact that we were celebrating a birthday.

It's such a pleasure to have fine dining at this standard on our doorstep in Ashford without needing to travel into London, its also tastefully dressed as a cozy and welcoming setting, with log fires within restored listed architecture. Service was great, front of house created a relaxed atmosphere whilst also ensuring everything was taken care of. Food, I'll start by saying my wife and I very much enjoyed our meal and it was certainly London standard, but I'll point out a few bits to elevate even further. Bread, the treacle and oat bread we were served was a bit soft, more cakey than bread, for a bread basket one now expects high quality warm crusty sourdough, maybe some Rye or spelt through it, the bread was okay but trying a little too hard perhaps. The beef fat compound butter however was exceptional. Starters, wife had the croquettes which were perfect, crisp exterior and light buttery potato filling full of flavour. I had the Mussels and they were plump and perfectly cooked, the small slice of sourdough was okay. Wife had the chicken breast, it was very good, as a supreme, a little refinement to French trim the wing bone wouldn't go a miss. The roscoff onion was lovely, and a reduced jus that punched with bags of flavour and rich umami. I had the steak, it was pretty good, slightly tough for the price point, but full of flavour and perfectly cooked, but a distance from hawksmoor. The peppercorn sauce was lacking flavour, it tasted more like seasoned cream. It would be nice to see marrow bone gravy as a sauce option. Sides, we had the crispy potatoes and garlic mash. The crispy potatoes were very good, but they were under seasoned and no salt and pepper on the table, they were crying out for a sprinkling Maldon. The garlic mash was well seasoned, creamy and smooth, only a turn of cracked black pepper wouldn't have gone a miss. As we were celebrating our wedding anniversary, a lovely brownie was provided decorated accordingly to accompany coffees. The espresso was exceptional, high quality coffee and very smooth. Drinks menu was great, heavy focus on supporting local and British providers, curious is on draft and my wife had the best non alcoholic sparkling wine we've ever tried.

Booked lunch for my daughter’s 40th birthday for six of us. The food was exquisite, atmosphere wonderful and service excellent. Boys Hall is in a lovely location in a hidden but easy to get to area, it is a great place to visit summer or winter and has a wonderland feel of occasion. It is on our top list of restaurants to go to for special occasions. Located just off M20 but in a country setting, just perfect.

We hired the banqueting hall for a family get together in early January. Service was great, fireplace was fired up and ready on arrival, food was delicious. Highly recommended

Overall good but there are some areas which could be improved to enhance the experience. My starter was mussels which were lovely but I had 2 which were closed so not advisable to eat. I would have thought a restaurant of this quality would have removed those prior to serving. Our steak was lovely but we were told that the weight of the bone would be removed from the cost but it was not. Finally, it was my wife's birthday and I spoke to the restaurant twice asking if they could do a little something to recognise that which they promised they would but did not. Overall good but could have been excellent.

This new barber location must be tried. The barber is nice and services are top 🔝

Our New Favourite Place! This wonderful building has recently been restored by the present owners and it is amazing with the “Wow” factor…stepping in you immediately feel the warmth and coziness from the beautiful furnishings. The friendliness from the staff and the excellent food makes Boys Hall stand out from all the others!

What a wonderful place to spend a super New Year's eve, where everything from the welcome to the room (Romney) was up to the highest standard... so we went back 5 days later for my Birthday and we had the same excellent experience again.... Thank you all for a great time

My wife and I had an excellent lunch on 7 January. Warm greeting made us feel very welcome. Interesting menu choice. The bream and venison dishes were really first rate as were the starters and side plates and the chef needs praise for what we had - presentation,textures and flavours. The service at table was friendly, very helpful and a small cake to take home as a birthday treat for my wife was a nice touch. We look forward to our next visit ! .

Boys Hall is a unique place unually situated amongst an industrial estate. It was a rare find, beautifully restored & decorated 17th century building. Service was excellent & food was exceptional. We would definitely return to Boys Hall for more future special occasions & possibly stay overnight too at some point.

Lovely venue with attentive staff. 2nd visit to restaurant to celebrate our anniversary yesterday. Delicious, flavoursome food beautifully presented. Will be back during the summer to take advantage of the terrace restaurant seating and gardens. Havent’t stayed overnight as we are local.

Drive into a spacious car park. Reception area has comfy sofas and a lovely log burner on the go. Very friendly staff.Free coffee and cake on arrival(or when you fancy it) Stayed in the best room,Bishops quarter,a truly stunning room.Was a little chilly after dinner but staff quickly turned up the heating when mentioned. Dinner was delicious.We are vegetarian so can only comment on that.The lions mane was amazing as were the crispy potatoes. They have some great wines for all budgets from £40 to £1150 a bottle. Restaurant staff were very attentive and extremely friendly. All in all a great experience.

Good service nice breakfast experience!!

Enjoyed another excellent breakfast with family at this beautiful venue again. The service was once again excellent and the food was great.

Fabulous hotel - we stayed for one night in Franklin and had a brilliant time. The food and drinks were exceptional, fully recommend the Porterhouse for a special occasion. The only negative was that the bed was extremely hard, might be worth putting a mattress topper on to make it a bit more of a medium pressure to cater for more people. I also think it a bit cheeky to have to pay extra for a hot breakfast given the room price, this should be included as standard - however, we had a wonderful stay and will definitely be back.

We has a Huge family diner post Christmas here. It was absolutely fantastic! Great wine list with a broad selection championing English vineyards. Impeccable service, special thanks to Vivi here for charming our entire party and perfectly attentive service. Food was delish, a red wine jus they I'm still dreaming of over perfect roast beef. It's not often that I can praise hospitality as much I can for Boys Hall. This is now one of my Kent favourites and I'll definitely be back every time we're in the UK. Worth many visits. Thank you for giving us such a great day.

Our room of choice was “Margaret”. Lovely and comfortable and lots of space. 2 lovely easy chairs to relax on with a table for that odd cup of tea/coffee Bathroom was great with a lovely hot “rainforest” shower.

There is no better fine dining in Ashford than Boys Hall. The brigade in the kitchen really know their stuff and it shows with every plate. Service is unhurried, friendly without being obsequious and knowledgable on the food on offer.

A beautiful historic place that felt very magical. Incredible for food! Absolutely delicious! Can't recommend highly enough for that special occasion or if you just want to treat yourself. We will certainly be coming back again and would love to experience more of the manor and rooms

Absolutely perfect. Everything about this place was top notch. The service was friendly, the surroundings perfect and the food was just different level. Been to many gastro and Michelin restaurants. Got to say this’ll s probably the best one. Will go again soon but stay over next time.

If I could give 100/ 10 for boys hall I would! The most relaxing tranquil break ever The house is amazing and the staff are so welcoming and nothing is too much of a problem or an ask. The rooms are stunning and relaxing. The food is delicious, every room has a warm fire to rest by. We stayed in your Bishops quarter room 27th - 29th December and it had everything that we needed. Check in was good and Jackie very personable. We love our cocktails so spent a fair amount of time in the pub quaffing those and playing board games, they were all very good and Charles was just the lovliest server. Food in the restaurant very good, my husband said that the mussels with their sauce were the best he has had which is praise indeed from him . Lilly was an absolute gem, knew her stuff around the menu and wines. On the downside, I have one comment- breakfast. Really disappointed. Everything was sweet! Granola, pastries, toast and jam. Not my ideal at all. Would like to see some meats and cheese to make it a proper continental breakfast which wouldn't cost too much to offer or even charge for a small charcuterie board. I had eggs and bacon on the second morning as couldn't stomach all that sweetness again. It was OK but felt my eggs were slightly overcooked. One small negative for what was a fabulous few days with family. Thank you. We will be returning.
