Amazing vegetarian taster menu. One of the best vegetarian meals I have ever eaten, so thank you for exceeding my expectations.

Fabulous dinner at the West House. Better than the various Michelin starred restaurants I’ve eaten in over the last year or so in London and Paris. The chef also came up with the best and most original vegetarian food that my wife has had in ages. Very friendly and efficient service from Jackie and Jake. Enjoyed it so much that I bought the book by the chef. Mostly his recipes, but also entertaining accounts of his rock and roll youth.

We had another wonderful meal in the West House, it is always a great experience. The staff are all lovely and the food was delicious. Sadly we didn't like the dessert but that is personal preference, we just don't like rice pudding, the frozen yogurt and brandy snap were lovely. We'll be back!

We absolutely loved our meal at The West House. The welcome was warm and felt genuine and we loved the informality. It felt like we were in someone’s home. All the food was fabulous. Oh my god! It was amazing! We’ve been a few times now and it blows our minds how delicious it is. From lobster to lamb to bass to caviar it was just scrumptious it was! Thank you again for a lovely meal!

After a very difficult few weeks with family and health we decided to take my mum here for dinner for a treat. It was wonderful food and wonderful service. The bill was rather high is the only thing I would say! Just be prepared. Other than that lovely dining experience. Thank you.

We've just had a wonderful Sunday lunch here. It's a small restaurant but the tables are very well spaced and the ambience is excellent. The service is informal and very friendly. You have a choice of a meat/fish or a veggie menu and a standard or an extended version of both, with or without wine pairings. We opted for the standard menu which consisted of 4 courses. On top of that we were given delicious sourdough bread with olives, chef homemade butter and whipped dripping to start with, followed by a scrumptious amuse bouche. Every single course was absolutely delicious. Although it was described as a smaller menu we were both full up by the end. The homemade chocolates and tiny cakes that we were given at the end finished off a lovely experience. Highly recommended.

We dined here after receiving a voucher from a relative. We decided to stay the night as well. Overall the experience was positive. The food was very nice and the accompanying wines were well chosen. I would certainly eat there again. As for the stay, while the room was nice and the facilities plenty, there were significant shortfalls. Firstly there were notable water stains in the plaster around the skirting board and wall behind the towel rail. Secondly the hand towel hook fell out of the socket. Finally the shower had amazing water pressure and would have been great, however the drain must have been blocked as after 60 seconds operation it was overflowing. A pity considering the room was fairly expensive considering the area.

We dined her on Fathers' Day which meant the restaurant was quite busy but, as always, the service was immaculate. The food was delicious, we never know what we are going to get but it is always wonderful.

Fantastic warm and friendly service. There were a few technical problems with the food. And we didn't realise the Sunday menu (not sure about other days) is a set-price arrangement. This should be much clearer on the website. Overall, an OK experience.

Maybe the tasting menu the evening we visited was a bit off but we had trouble equaling our experience with the many rave reviews that this restaurant has received. First issue we had was that the menu was extremely unbalanced; it was virtually all meat. Hardly a fruit or vegetable to be seen. The food was obviously prepared with great attention but, to be perfectly frank, the flavours just weren't there. Price was pretty high and not really consistent with what we experienced. Service was very good but overall, we thought something was missing. We appreciate what the owners are trying to do here and maybe we were just unlucky enough to be there on a night with a somewhat unsuccessful tasting menu.

We had the five course menu. All courses were delicious, beautifully presented and well thought out. There were also several “extras” before and after the actual meal. These, too, were mouthwatering. We were told exactly what each dish was as it was served. Time was given between each course so we didn’t feel rushed. This was our 4th visit to The West House and it won’t be our last. Thank you.

Excellent food, exceptional flavours. Attentive caring service

This was the best meal I have ever had! They serve a long list of small portions of different dishes, all of which were prepared and presented to top standard, with a few started thrown in for good measure. The prawn and beef dishes were my favourites but would happily have had larger portions of any of them. The wine options also seem to be very good although was not able to drink a lot as was driving. Staff very welcoming too and brought a beautiful little happy anniversary dessert too at the end. Can not recommend this highly enough and will be back soon.

The combination of ingredients for each dish was, as always, superb. It is a real treat to dine at the West House and I would not hesitate to recommend it to people who appreciate the time and effort gone into creating each menu. The staff are attentive without being intrusive, and the whole experience was a pleasure. We are very much looking forward to our next visit.

The most wonderfully decadent food, combined with a well thought through wine flight and friendly service. Lots of little treats at the beginning and end of the meal just helped to make the whole experience more special.

We didn't stay here but we did eat in the restaurant. Its the 2nd time we've been. Food is always excellent but check out prices before you go. My opinion is that the food is excellent and up there with the best. This comes at a cost which is absolutely fine. However. Although I do appreciate that a lot of work goes into the various courses with fine ingredients which is where the cost is I did feel a bit disappointed with the optional extra cheese and biscuit course which for £15 for 4 tiny pieces of cheese, 4 biscuits and some pickle was a bit over priced. Tasty but over priced. That being said I would definitely go back. 4 of us ate food, 2 bottles of wine, 3 cocktails, soft drinks and 1 coffee nearly £600. I do feel that the 12.5% service charge should be optional and not automatically added to the bill.. this out of everything would be what would make me think twice about going back. As previously mentioned, the food is excellent so worth a try at least once. Staff are very friendly and attentive.

Not our first visit and we took friends who had not dined here before. Everything was great - food, service, wine pairing. The quality of food is excellent and we enjoyed everything particularly the amuse-bouches. This is fine dining so is priced accordingly.

Four of us had a superb evening in this lovely intimate restaurant with friendly but not intrusive service. The set menu was outstanding and the accompanying wines were all perfect. The delicious amuse bouches and the petits fours just added to the overall experience. Biddenden village is always pretty but the Christmas lights on a rare dry evening just added to the ambience.

We have eaten in the West House many times and always really enjoy it. The staff are friendly and helpful, the atmosphere is very pleasant and the food is superb. This Sunday was no exception, in fact I could honestly say that the food was wonderful.

Wonderful meal. Very friendly welcome. I had the regular menu, my husband had the vegetarian menu plus the wine pairing. We both found the food excellent, apart from my husband's main course which was grilled aubergine and tomatoes. He felt the dish was not to the standard of the rest of the meal; it had none of the sophistication and finesse and seemed to be an afterthought. However this only slightly spoilt the overall experience and we have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant. If in the area, we will go again.

A lovely experience and the staff were friendly and explained all of the dishes. The different courses were varied and interesting. There was little atmosphere as there was only myself and my partner, until another couple arrived a little later. Apparently they had received 3 or 4 cancellations that evening, hence the empty restaurant. Although the food was very good, we felt that it was a little overpriced for what it was.

Visited today - a Mothers Day gift of a short lunch. We loved every minute of it from the little appetisers of Parmesan churros to an octopus starter with chorizo, confit duck with sweetcorn, venison loin and apple dessert. Service was friendly and discrete. Cannot fault a thing! We will return.
