Went on quiz night and had something to eat there as well . Menu was quite simple , sensible as there was a quiz , we both had scampi and chips ( £12 ) good value and quite tasty . The friend I went with is in a quiz team there so we joined and won the quiz which was nice . Found the quiz enjoyable . It was a little on the warm side in the pub but over all had a good night .

My partner and I went to the Woolpack on a Sunday afternoon for lunch, he isn't really a fan of roast dinners so asked if there was anything else on the menu but he was told no. We both had a roast which I couldn't fault, it was very tasty. We did have to wait 30 minutes to get our meal and it was not busy! The chef brought our meal out and did apologised for the wait but he had forgotten my partners starter, which we asked to be brought out with the main meal. Whilst waiting for our meal we saw cheesy chips being taken out to another table and when we had finished our eating we sat in the garden to finish our drinks . . . lo and behold pizza and chips were being brought out to another table! I thought they only did roast dinners, my partner wasn't impressed. The staff were all very young and they spent most of their time talking and sitting in the comfy chairs. Our table needed a clean and the tables in the garden also needed clearing of dirty plates, glasses and overflowing ashtrays. Although the roast dinner was very nice I wouldn't go here again due to the poor service and lack of cleanliness.

What a pleasure it was to eat here, lovely food, excellent friendly and helpful stall, with the addition of crazy golf in the garden. We will be back

We called in here on our way to the ferry. It was excellent. Food and cleanliness were just excellent. The music and atmosphere brilliant

A great country pub, the Caribbean food was amazing, the staff were very friendly and professional and we even stayed over in our camper on the car park!

If I could give 10 stars I would !!! Absolute gem of a find that we will with out a doubt be returning back to asap . Greeted with a beautiful, friendly smile from a bubbly , welcoming lady . Nothing was too much and she went above and beyond to find a Fanta for my young boy ( thanks again 😀) The locals were very chatty and inviting aswell which I always like and feel it shows just how good and establishment is when the locals are singing the praises 😀Food was absolutely beautiful , well presented and super yummy !! The rest of the menu looks fantastic aswell . We sat out in the huge beautiful garden with the children , who really enjoyed playing football and golf altogether, nanny and grandad had a lovely time aswell . Honestly thank you so much to both the lovely lady and gentleman who looked after us so well. The gentleman was more than happy to box up the children's food as well after due to the golf being more exciting to them than eating lol but thankfully I won't have to do dinner tonight now so thank you again. I am so glad your only 15 minutes away from our homes because we will be back very soon and very regularly. Thanks so much Woolpack xxx

So food is 5 stars as Griselda gets lots of treats, didn’t have the time or budget for food unfortunately. Service always 100% fab. Such wonderful folk. Atmosphere, felt quiet but always welcoming. I’ll be back!

A quaint little pub tucked away in a village which doesn't get enough visitors considering the food is always good, the staff are always welcoming and they have a beer garden which is what you want for the 5 days of warm weather we get. Perfect spot for those who have done the deer park walk to stop off and fill up

Absolutely lovely pub. We went here for a celebratory meal for an 18th birthday party. Kind, friendly, truly wonderful service with a smile. Went the extra mile for our daughter with birthday wishes on the chalk board outside and helped us facilitate a surprise birthday cake when everyone in the pub joined in singing ‘Happy Birthday’ . You made the meal extra special and we are very grateful - Thank you! Food and drinks were perfect, we will definitely be back.

A very decent pint and an excellent steak and ale pie and mash. Proper, individual pie, too, none of your "lid on a stew" nonsense. Wasn't keen on the red cabbage, but then I never am, so not the pub's fault.

It's was a lovely meal. Highly recommended for Sunday lunch or any other meal to be honest.

This was the first time actually eating here and have the say the food for a small village local pub was very good. However, the service was even better! So friendly and helpful. Seemed like genuinely lovely people. Good value for money too. Will definitely be eating here again.

We had Christmas dinner at the pub last weekend. The food was amazing (with a fussy eater catered for!). The atmosphere was warm and cosy and the staff were very attentive and friendly. We really recommend The Woolpack!

Went here last night, got informed there was no liver or chilli before we ordered, we ordered 3 fillets steaks and fish and chips for mains I had mushrooms to start, waited over 30 minutes for starters, table opposite us got theirs before I got mine they despite them coming in 20 minutes after. Mushrooms were delicious. Got told no steaks, so we ordered another 2 fish and chips and a burger. 2 fish were fine my batter was really soggy on the bottom, the burger was really dry and bland like it was pre cooked and reheated. Table service was fine, but for me a big foodie, the food was not up to it, great pub with a good atmosphere, the food just lets it down. Needless to say I will not be going back for a meal there again. This is the 2nd time I've gone for a meal there to which they didn't have things on the menu that I wanted. Shame, such a nice place too.

Hosted a 30th birthday at the pub and what can i say but amazing! All the staff helped with putting up decorations and they happily hid the cake for us. Food was great and all freshly made. Will defo visit again

We visited on a Tuesday evening for curry night, the atmosphere and warm welcome were apparent immediately and the food and service were equally as good. The Woolpack is a great local pub, we will return.

We won a cream Tea in a competition, and it was lovely. Used to drink here years ago in my teens and will defo be returning again. Staff friendly and very welcoming.

Comfortable large pub with spacious garden, as well as plenty of seating indoors. Shame that all 3 real ales were not available on our visit.

First time at The Woolpack but it won't be the last! We booked for a family lunch for 9. The food, mains and dessert course, were, without exception, first class! Freshly cooked, ample portions, great flavours. We were served by friendly staff and the atmosphere was very relaxed. We moved into the garden after lunch, only to be very pleasantly surprised at a lovely, well maintained, open, green space with seating areas, crazy golf ( for a minimal clubs hire fee) and climbing frame for the kids...plus a fabulous outdoor pizza place! I can't rate it highly enough. It's a hidden gem and definitely a place to return to! Thankyou Woolpack team! We've had a fantastic English pub experience, best one in a long time and certainly the best pub food!🥰

Thank you to all the Woolpack Inn staff for a delicious and plentiful home made Sunday afternoon tea, with Prosecco, on Sunday July the 9th. The friendly service, beautiful bone china table settings and the welcoming atmosphere made the afternoon extra special. The brilliant Brabourne String Quartet musicians, playing a programme of classical favourites and popular music, was the icing on the cake. We look forward to their next visit and another scrumptious tea! Tessa and Alan Fineman.

The bar/ restaurant staff are brilliant. They are very attentive, nothing is too much trouble and keep smiling. Personally, I shalln't be coming here for the food. I came for an association Christmas dinner. Priced fairly but not my sort of dining.

Having had some good meals here previously it was a shame today as had koftas with Greek salad. The koftas were spicy but Spinach leaves, lambs lettuce, a couple of tiny pieces of onion and cue with a couple of small tomato halves and feta cubes drizzled with balsamic glaze is Not a Greek salad! The tzatziki which we had to remind staff should have been included when it arrived tasted more like tartar sauce very vinegary certainly not homemade.

Paula and myself had afternoon tea on a Saturday afternoon. Such a great selection of sandwiches, cakes and pastries - all delicious. Its a lovely pub, you are made to feel welcome by Dave and Michelle. We highly recommend and will definitely be visiting again. Thank you for a lovely afternoon.

Waited an hour for food and it wasnt even busy, tasteless, over priced, over cooked. Waiter came with an apology for the "little" wait. Yh no. Just don't do it. The 5 stars are lying to you. Only plus is a play area for the kids so they don't get too bratty with the wait.

Nice interior but found beer a bit pricey

Popped in with my father for a quiet beer, the place has changed since last in a fair few years ago. Clean inside and very pleasant staff the Guinness was good as well!

Food not brought out at the same time, kept being told it would come in a minute. By the time the complete table order arrived food that had already arrived was cold. We were only a table of 4. Desserts - same scenario, toddlers desert came out, we let him start eating- 30mins later everyone else's arrived (despite being told its just coming ). This meant it was hard to manage a toddler while we were trying to eat. Desserts were nasty with very cheap ice cream. Waitress came to check it was ok- I said no its not good , she just said OK and then just walked off. Lovely. Won't be back! Avoid !!

What a lovely friendly place to find. Conveniently located close to the Channel Tunnel they very kindly let us stay over in their carpark for the night in our campervan . They were really nice and friendly, even phoning prior to visit to advise that there was a function on that day and to delay our arrival until after normal Sunday closing time. I can't comment on their food obviously but will be back

Went on a bank holiday weekend for family birthday meal. Waited two hours for our food and all staff kept saying was we are sorry but we are very busy, or we are plating it up now. After two hours we all walked out. Staff on the pub floor are young. Very poor service and no communication. Wouldn't even give them 1 star

Very pleasant pub on Chara outing. Nice meal but it would have been good to have a naan bread or poppadoms with my Thai curry which was otherwise good. Ice cream sundae was delicious 😋. Excellent service and worth another visit.

This was a wedding anniversary treat and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We were given a warm welcome by the landlord (Dave) and his family and the young man who came out and chatted to us, (sorry didn't get his name.) "Good luck for your second year at Norwich University." All the sandwiches and cakes were home made and they were delicious. We will definitely be visiting again.
