Koyla in Ashford

We went as a family and we absolutely enjoyed the food and the service. I would like to come back and try all other dishes.

We have been here several times and the dishes always have something new and interesting. Lamb cutlet to start was excellent, my husband having the fish modii Kohla as a starter portion was good but plenty of sauce which actually overpowered the fish. We both had chicken mains which were excellent. One complaint, the Sula Indian wine was vastly over-priced. You can get a bottle of this on the internet for £12.50. We didn't think to ask the price of this when we ordered as we had had bottles previously, but were shocked to see they now charged £36.00! Considering Koyla can get this wine wholesale at even cheaper cost, this is exorbitant pricing and I would urge the restaurant to reconsider charging such a high price in the future.

Recommended by a friend whilst visiting the Ashford Outlet Centre. We were not disappointed, lovely restaurant, great ambience, food was absolutely amazing. 100% would recommend and hope to return soon.

We didn’t even know it was here, until friends made a reservation. A very nice restaurant with a varied menu, beautifully presented food and attentive staff. Couldn’t fault either the food or the service, and will definitely be returning in the future.

Promoted as the fine dining site of the Everest Inn (Ashford), Koyla is in a lovely setting with the restaurant busy & atmospheric with attentive waiters providing great service. The food was good, tasty & interesting, with some choices for vegetarians plus managed to eat here also as a coeliac. Others on our table were delighted with their food, flavours & heat and wile mine was delicious I don’t think the food was greatly different from the main site. Yes, would go back.

We have had many takeaways from this excellent Nepalese restaurant and decided to dine in on a Saturday evening. The food and service was, as usual, excellent. We had the Chicken Malabar and the Chitwani Khukhura with naan and rice - both dishes were delicious and full of flavour and spice. The choice of wines by the glass is limited but it’s great having the Golden Everest on draught. Whilst the restaurant is a little out of the way it’s definitely one to visit and they deliver within a 5 mile radius with an online hassle free ordering service.

I went to Koyla for a meal out with my sisters. I had heard good things and it definitely lived up to them and more. The food was all delicious, and full of flavour. The service was exceptional and the staff were friendly. Despite it being a Friday night, it was very quiet, which is a shame because it is just so good. It is definitely worth a visit (despite being located a bit out of the way), and the money you pay for the amazing food.

Absolutely amazing food, excellent service, great ambience. I don’t know why Shanker does not have a Michellin star the best chef that creates taste sensations. Best described as food with a hug.

Friendly staff and good range of dishes to choose from. I can recommend the timuri lasun chicken which has a bit of a kick to it and the house thali which is good to share between two people. Plenty of parking and outdoor seating available for summer evenings al fresco dining

Food was excellent. Menu appears to be the same or almost identical to The Everest, Ashford. Service was terrible. Waited for ages and ages between starters and main meal to the point that we were thinking that our order had been lost. Very disappointing given that the food was so good.

This is a fantastic curry restaurant ! Starters were tasty spicey - 3 in total - onion bhaji perfect. Mains both great one was timuri lasun chicken thighs a must try this one. All service very good & helpful explaining dishes Price is slightly more then some other indian restaurants but this worth the little extra £.

Went for xmas dinner with colleagues. Personally i’ve been there before so urged my team to experience a new kind of atmosphere than we normally go to. Everyone loved it. Especially the ambience and calm atmosphere. The head chef Shankar Pandey made himself available for us as he greeted our table with On-the-house starters( i forgot the name but made with brussel sprouts and another with potato)….all dishes were superbly garnished. So beautiful so elegant, just looking like a wow 🤩 …to pick a few of our fav dishes from the evening were duck chhoila, fish modi khola and House thali. Ended the night with another visit by the head chef where we discussed our experience as he was keen to learn and improve via direct customer interaction. We felt the warmth of the welcome from all the staffs which has made a few of our colleagues vowing to come back as soon as another event/ festival comes along. Overall 10/10 today.

This is a lovely restaurant and the food was excellent. They need to do more wines by the glass and the service was not speedy but for a fine restaurant that's not always a problem. Were accomodating to the vegan in our ranks and a lovely setting.

I saw that this restaurant had good reviews so I decided to book a table for my wife and I for this evening (Thursday 30th November 2023). The restaurant was quiet but the gentleman waiting at tables was polite, kind and helpful without being intrusive in his manner. The starters were both delicious and beautifully presented, as were our main courses (my wife recommends the thali platter but make sure you have a large appetite!) We really thought we'd had the best meal in a long time until the real goal scorer came out - the mango ice cream for dessert! We can genuinely say that this was one of the best Asian meals we've had in a long time and possibly ever. Would very highly recommend this little treasure of a place.

Great location, clean and very well spaced with a warm country house decor but modern. The service was great, balanced between professional and jovial. Problem is the food was just not up to the standards you would expect. The butter chicken for example, was dry. For the price and when chicken is the main ingredient, that's pretty much the one thing that you need to avoid. Shame because with a better chef I would recommend to anyone without hesitation.

Beautiful food and lovely people

Set a little out of town you'll need transport to get here. Parking in easy and spacious though. They have outside heated seating, but opted to eat inside. The music nicely moves away from the typical Indian/Nepalese restaurant. Nothing we tasted was over picante, rather nicely spiced and therefore tasty. I do not consider getting my head blown off with spice a good curry. They offer a different twist and presentation on what one would generally expect. The portion sizes reflect the artisan/modern approach to plating up. They offer a small menu, but what they do offer is nice. You can opt for the Small Plates or treat them as a starter, and they have main courses. Their starters are better than their main courses.

I love the food. Pani puri was in different lvl, loved it.

Visited with friend , the place is ok , staff nice but a bit robotic .The presentation of food is lovely , clean but unfortunately lacking of spices, and small portions , for what you pay . We don't mind to pay a bit more as we do understand that cost of food went up but when you feel still hungry after 2 courses is not good. We will not be rushing to coming back.

Our 2nd visit to this hidden gem and again we were blown away by the incredible experience. Our waitress was a credit to the restaurant, very informative and polite. All our meals were presented beautifully and the tasted lovely. We even got a sample of the new forthcoming menu.

Ordered on Deliveroo, waited for an hour before they rang me to tell me they missed the order. If I wanted to wait for the order I’d have to wait another hour.. what kind of service is that? An hour to wait after they already messed up. Shocking. Won’t be ordering again.

This was the first time for us but we heard it was very good .Our experience was average . The menu was not large that evening but we made our choices . Starters were nice but main courses average . With your choice of dish you had with it a small pile of rice if you needed a side dish at extra cost the choice was fairly good . Drinks were expensive as was the food . Main courses averaged £ 16 - £22 extra for side dishes . Nice setting and service very good . With tip £230 or four people . If it works for them great but won’t go back .

When you walk into Koyla, it has a very nice calm lighting. The staff were nice and friendly and answered any questions that we had about the food. The food was well presented and tated very well.
