Love love love, such a lovely ambience and so friendly. We had a gorgeous meal, there is a little bit of a wait in between courses, but it just shows the food is fresh and also gives you time to digest and enjoy. Really enjoyed, lovely staff…..full packed menu and nothing too much trouble. Looking forward to going again VERY soon. Keep up the good work 🥰

The food at the Joshan of Wye is amazing. We have often had takeaways from the restaurant but decided to eat in this time. The staff were very friendly and attentive and the food was exceptional! Highly recommend!

Beautiful restaurant with top quality food! Thoroughly enjoyed my visit and would defo go back. The mixed grill and Saag aloo was my favourite.

Food was excellent, restaurant clean and comfortable. Service was a little chaotic (although polite enough) had to ask for the bill 3 times. Tries to add a % service charge, which I find ridiculous when serving small numbers of people. The customer decides when and how much to tip, not the restaurant. However the food was good enough for me to return at a later date..

I have been trying to remember having a better Indian meal in all the UK's major cities...but I've concluded that this was the best I've experienced (from over 50 restaurants). I had Prawn Puree & the Buttred Chicken...highly recommended. The service & atmosphere were equally good. I'll definitely return.

The lamb biryani was 5 star. The best meal I have ever had (Marcus, age 10). The service was great and excellent menu choices.

I recently dined at this incredible Bangladeshi restaurant, and I was blown away by the authenticity and freshness of every dish. From the moment I walked in, the warm and welcoming atmosphere made me feel right at home. The food was nothing short of amazing – each dish was bursting with rich, traditional flavors, and you could tell everything was made with the freshest ingredients. From the perfectly spiced curries to the fragrant rice, every bite was a treat. The staff was attentive and friendly, making the whole experience even more memorable. I can’t wait to come back! Wow...the best of the best. The place was buzzing...the decor tasteful. The waiters attentive. But the best of all; the food was AMAZING!! Those who adore Indian food will not be disappointed. A superior quality restaurant. With a taste that is to die for . Bangladesh curry is the most rounded curry and the cuisine I look for when I want a curry . The staff are friendly if slightly shy . The restaurant is spotless clean and decorated tastefully. Its been my favourite meal in my trip to UK after 4 years I felt like crying with joy at the taste I missed the most . Thank you ... Ps back from Spain on Holiday again and the standards here have increased 🤯 they listen to feed back and act on it to get better . The child's meal was the weak point but now it is good , the chicken was moist and tasty. This place definitely deserves an award. The Biryani was authentic including a sealed crust which was served intact and on top like it would be originally. My lamb was to die for . Everything on the Table was delicious. See you next year. I miss the curry already 😭

I rarely bother to write a review but had lunch there today was was extremely impressed. Lovely food, lovely setting, lovely staff & lovely country village. If I had to offer any advice on how to improve, I wouldn’t know where to start as it was all so well thought through with the quality of food, surroundings and how we were looked after. I wasn’t sure what to expect when I chose from the street food menu but everything that I ordered was full of different tastes and was wonderful. I now have the dilemma of do I have the same again next time or try something different again.

Really bad service, no menus at table, took ages to get a drink and been half an hour and still hadn’t had our order taken. Decided to walk out when we found out the table next to us had been waiting even longer!

A truly exceptional place! We had dinner at the Joshan of Wye and were very friendly welcomed by the staff. Our orders were taken in a timely manner and our drinks were served straight away. The food was truly outstanding and we have tried many Bangladeshi places before!! But the Joshan of Wye really stood out. It was delicious, very well presented and you could really taste the fresh ingredients. We loved the Rogan curry, garlic naan & mango lassi (so good!!). The amenities were spotlessly clean and well kept. This restaurant is truly run with live and dedication. Thank you for such a wonderful evening. We will be back.

I ordered a delivery on Friday evening for 6.30pm. It arrived at 6.31pm and, bless him, the delivery driver apologised for being late……The food was absolutely delicious and plenty of it. Not having a car and being disabled I’ve not had the pleasure of sampling the restaurant or the staff but have read a lot about how everything is wonderful. This is the 2nd time I’ve ordered delivery and Joshans will definitely be my no.1 Indian delivery from now on.

The other reviews are great so we were really looking forward to eating here. First impressions the atmosphere is great although a bit too dark (and the lamp on the table didn’t help enough). The service and staff were good but oh we really didn’t like the food! The papadoms were thin and oily with a strange taste (the worse I’ve ever had). Almost every dish tasted really salty, the chicken was a bit dry, I couldn’t taste that my chicken was tikka, another said their dish had a strange taste. We think they were trying too hard to be nouvelle cuisine and we’d have preferred the dishes to have tasted more traditional. The only thing I liked was the Bombay Aloo and the Naan bread was ok. There was 12.5% service charge added on, we couldn’t be bothered to argue over that as just wanted to leave; sadly we won’t be going back. To finish it off I felt queasy for the rest of the night. I never ever normally feel like this after an Indian (Bangladeshi, Nepal, Sri Lankan etc)

Look in not a chef, ease up on the viniger on the madras, come on u are the best around don't use patacks! Homemade is the nuts so do what u do best! Keema need a bit more tandoori paste, garlic nann needs a bit more buttery garlic.. I'm a bricklayer,i have the faintest idea of cooking but I do like to eat! Hope this doesn't come as an insult because it's constructive, all the best Darren

Hate to disagree with so many others, but can’t say I shared their experiences. The service was shabby at best - one waiter actually turned away in the middle of taking our order to serve another table - and inadequate. Dishes were missed from the order (probably because the waiter turned away!) and painfully slow to arrive. The food was mushy and bland as if the same thick, creamy sauce had been used for everything and all the veg were cooked to extinction. Pani puri were soggy, tasteless and a far cry from anything you’d find in Bangladesh, and I honestly believe a chicken methi was just a chicken tikka masala with a sprinkling of dried herbage on top rather than methi. And it tasted exactly the same as a chicken jalfarezi which tasted exactly the same as a chicken madras! At 9.15 we were the last table still eating in the place, and the staff started turning off all the lights around us, and lurking around obviously wanting us to leave. Which we were not sorry to do.

The food was amazing, I do like an Indian every now and again, and have been to several, I don't think that Ashford has anywhere that is like the Joshan Of Wye. The staff are incredible. They meet you at the door which is nice. Very welcoming. Give you a real sense of Bangladesh and Indian cuisine. I would highly recommend it to anyone who fancies a good night out and some propper food. Highly recommend to one and all.

First time there with the family. Greeting and a handshake on entry which was very nice. All the staff we saw seemed very professional, well dressed and knew what they were doing. Very attentive and helpfull. The food was the best Indian food I'd had for a very long time. We all said the same. Very flavour full and tasty. Nice ambience in the restaurant too. A young girl served us didn't get her name but she had a trendy hair style shaved around the sides etc. Very pleasant and helpfull, saw we were talking selfies etc and offered without being asked to take some photos of. Small things like that mean a lot. Got on with her job. Not standing around looking at a phone etc. A very enjoyable night.

What a great night out, the food is beyond compare and service friendly and efficient. We usually get a takeaway delivered which is our Friday night treat, can take up to an hour but gives me the chance to settle into a nice glass of red before it arrives. The standard takeaway or eat in is the same, highly recommend it!

Wow!! 5 Star ***** We went to celebrate with our family at Joshan and we had never been their before but was recommended by many people to visit and they wasn't lying this place is a gem, the food was fresh, full of flavour and the decor is just amazing, feels like your not in Ashford when you dine in. They have amazing Street Food and authentic Bangladeshi food! If you haven't tried this place you must not to be missed. I'm puzzled why this place gets rave reviews, it was OK, but there isn't a great selection of food and what we had was just OK, nothing to write home about. And it is a very small space, and it's not cheap.

We went on a Saturday evening. We found it very cramped where we sat, the gaps between the tables was not great. I felt I was scrapping my backside in our neighbours meal whilst trying to sit. We had a table for four people & the table felt cramped when the dishes were brought out. The food was very good and the servers were very good. I think because it was valentines weekend it might of been busier than normal. I don't know as this was our first visit.

The Joshan feels like a spot I shouldn't be sharing - amazingly delicious, innovative food that's flavourful and superbly presented. It's a local gem and I'm always excited when we book. The restaurant team are brilliant , great mix of friendly and accommodating. Definitely recommend, great meal out.

We chose this restaurant as a good central meeting place for the family. Excellent food, service ok. However when the bill came we noticed a service charge of over 10%, probably 12.5% as someone else has stated below. I’m sure alot of people don’t check their bill and just pay it. I’m always happy to leave a tip but don’t expect it to be added to the bill so refused to pay it.

My partner & I visited yesterday for a NYE date night. It was our 1st time eating at the Joshan Of Wye so was looking forward to trying somewhere new. The restaurant was clean and tidy and we loved the decor. It has a very modern feel to it. It was quite busy and we did wait a while for our food but this was understandable as it was NYE. The staff however kept us informed and apologised for the wait which was really nice of them. Everyone was also so friendly and professional. When the food came we were so impressed. Everything was so tasty and we both said it was one of the best curries we’ve had in a long time. We will most definitely be visiting again. Thank you.

Went here mid December for a fantastic meal with the family. I’ve eaten in many Indian restaurants, but this one is hands down the best. There’s a few new dishes on the menu and some little tweaks to existing ones. I highly recommend the butter chicken. But every dish is delicious, so you can’t go wrong really. If you want something different to a curry, the tandoori side of it is awesome. The food we had was top notch, as always. The staff were friendly and couldn’t do enough to make our time an enjoyable one. There’s no other Indian you should go to in and around Ashford.

A reasonable meal was spoilt by poor service. A few years ago, I had a lovely time here so this was all rather disappointing.

We have been to this restaurant once before and like the last time, the food is very good and the restaurant is clean and very well presented. However, there was a little surprise this time, a 12.5% service charge for the two of us added to our bill. It does not state this on the literature and neither did our waiter tell us about it. When we queried it we were told it was introduced a few weeks ago and we had to pay it. So, I'm not sure if this is a Christmas special or here to stay, but I left feeling rather narked at this unexpected addition for two people when most other restaurants only levy this type of service charge for tables of 6 or more. Be aware...

A lovely little restaurant with very good service from friendly staff. The food was lovely too. I had Prawn Puree, my go to starter in Indian/Bangladeshi restaurants, which was one of the nicest I've had. For main I went for the Kachee Lamb Boujon. This was something new for me and it was lovely, the lamb was tender, the sauce was fresh and it had a good spice from the fresh green chillies. I'd definitely recommend it if you want something different from the usual options.

Wonderful family run restaurant, with welcoming and attentive staff. Food was delicious and flavoursome. Highly recommended.

Lovely restaurant. Was recommended this venue by friends, and with so few good curry restaurants now in Canterbury, decided to venture further afield. Poppadoms & pickles were lovely (lime pickle, Mango-like sauce, mint yoghurt and chopped onions) followed by Chicken Tandoori (yum!) and gorgeously crispy onion Bhaji (not at all oily like other restaurants), followed by lamb balti & chicken dansak with pilau rice, keema naan and peshwari naan. The dansak was hotter than we thought (can be mild in some establishments) however was nonetheless hot and very tasty. Thoroughly enjoyed our food, which was served hot and was soooo soooo tasty!! Staff were superb, and our red headed waiter could not have done more to make sure our food was satisfactory, and checked in with us regularly. The restaurant owner/manager was also friendly and let us know that Joshan deliver food to our neighbourhood - an added bonus! One thing to look out for (not the fault of the restaurant) is that finding a parking space with the on-street parking in Wye can be a challenge, so suggest you get there early and be prepared for a walk. Very reasonably price. Cover charge included. Highly recommended - 5 star!!

An amazing Indian with great food and service. From the moment we walked in we were made to feel welcome and shown to our table. The staff were brilliant and very friendly. The food was really nice and didn't take long. The restaurant has a lovely feel to it and you can upgrade to a private dining area which looked really good.

Amazing service, really nice local curry house. I'm from Birmingham and was blown away by the quality of the balti, intensely flavourful without being excessive. Chatted to the owner who was a great laugh and really impressed with the young waiting staff. No complaints!

Ordered a takeaway for collection. Easy phone call, good communication. Took an hour to be ready, fair enough, Saturday night. But when I took the food home, I was so surprised to see how small the portions were, and the quality was incredibly poor. With every single other Indian I've been to, anywhere in the UK, £30 is enough to easily feed two people, but this was just enough food for 1. The main was all sauce, there were maybe 5 pieces of meat in there, at most? I actually had to search inside the container for more? And the sauce was so hot it actually burnt my mouth. It was like they had just boiled it on full heat or stuck it in a microwave for 5 mintues. And it was way too sweet. Tikka masala is meant to be spicey, not just sugar and cream. It was like I was eating the filling of a peshwari naan mixed with cream. The naan bread just a bit bigger than my hand, which, for £4, is ridiculous. and the same for the rice: £4, tiny portion, no flavour or spices at all, not even salt on the rice. This place had really high ratings and, considering how nice Wye is, I had high expectations, but they weren't met in the slightest. I've had better takeaways for £20 that has fed two people.

Just finished a take away from Joshan tonight. Really good meal. The food was delicious, hot and fresh! We had veg dansaak, mushroom bhaji, cauliflower and potato bhaji and Tarka dhal. Excellent and fast delivery!
