It was really pleasant sitting outside in the warm sunshine, but also with plenty of shade. Coffee was very good, and also,had a cold drink. I will come back here for some food very soon as it was a lovely experience. Staff very friendly and chatty!

The food here is lovely and staff are friendly, however, if you're going to charge £2 for a fruit shoot, maybe don't serve ones with 89p displayed on the label....!!! Huge mark up.

We found this cafe almost by accident and what a pleasant surprise it was. Appears to be a converted oast house and one sits in one of the drying ovens. Very different and fun. Coffee was great one of the best flat whites I have experienced. Fresh and tasty cakes, the chocolate is hard to resist. Very tasty cheese scones and individual fruit almond tarts, so good we took some home. Lovely place to visit and good parking. Helpful and cheerful staff.

Dog friendly and very welcoming, staff were all friendly and knowledgeable the area clean tidy and a nice area to sit outside, we regularly stop for a chi latte and either a quiche or wrap the cakes are delicious and the meals superb and all fresh and made with love, plus dogs get free biscuits who wouldn’t like to visit here.

Good choice of cake, very nice coffee

I wanted to take my mum somewhere special for her birthday. I looked at many reviews of many different places, and decided on Barbara Ann Clark’s. I booked high tea via email and had excellent communication from Barbara. So was very much looking forward to it. Barbara didn’t disappoint…..our high tea was delicious and we had a complementary celeriac soup to start too. I will definitely be back!

Having sampled gluten free from a number of different places, these were far and away the very best I have ever eaten. Served warm with butter and a cup of excellent coffee it was a delightful visit. Serving staff are very friendly and welcoming. Will definitely visit again

Such a shame I am leaving this review as the two young staff members were lovely. However they were rushed off their feet and mentioned they were very short staff. This lead to waiting for water that never came. My daughter went for water at the micro pub near by. It was quicker. The high tea was mostly lovely, well presented but my sister is a vegetarian and on her plate was salmon which very much upset her. The only sandwiches included in the high tea were egg. Normally I would expect a variety like cheese or ham etc, so at £20 each I was a little disappointed. I waited 10 mins to pay at the till rather then wait for table service. Whilst we waited to try and get near the tills a local from another shop there was chatting eating sandwiches at the till counter. I was shocked in covid times by this.. so we kept our distance and waited for her to finish eating on the counter. This could be a wonderful place. The setting and tea room is lovely. If only they had supported staff. The poor young lad today was crazy busy, I wanted to pull up my sleeves and help him.

A great cafe perfect for lunch and treats. The selection of cakes and snacks is great. The staff were super friendly and nothing was too much for them. Highly recommended. Free parking within the business park.

Came to this place as I heard good things but unfortunately had a terrible experience. Asked for my water 4 times so on the 5th I got up and got it myself. Goats cheese panini came and literally had zero filling, also wasn’t given any cutlery. It’s meant to be a five star establishment but I wouldn’t return, seemed like teenagers were running it. Sorry to say :/

This was a super coffee shop in a busy community that was really interesting to look around. Staff very friendly and particularly helpful when we said we didn't have much time. They recommended what we had time for and it worked a treat. We'll certainly be planning to get back there very soon.

My wife had wanted me to visit for some time. Sandwich had little filling/taste, and bread a little off being totally cooked ?bought in. Adding 3 nachos with a few sprigs of lettuce as a side comedic. Cake very nice, but expensive as all cafes seem to think is ok nowadays. Staff friendly and helpful. Clean and tidy. Expensive though for what you get at the end of the day.

Me and friend regularly visit here following our dog walks around the surrounding fields. The staff are always friendly, and the drinks0 and cakes are always delicious! And it is completely dog friendly!

Quite simply, I love the cheese scones from here. Super tasty. Staff are friendly and helpful. The savoury cream tea is a real treat. Cheese scones comes with cream cheese and onion marmalade. Perfect combination. Will definitely be having this again and again. Highly recommend.

Barbara's Royal experience is very apparent in the items offered here. As a family we have the same thing a lot of the time, but whenever we try something new we're never disappointed. I have coeliacs and have the scrummy and seed bar and a gluten free panini with brie, bacon and spinach. There's an emphasis in local produce with Kent honey on sale, homemade lemonade, etc. Generally always tasty and fresh. A fab variety of hot and cold options and well mannered, helpful staff

Been back here again, brilliant service quick and efficient, lovely seating area outside if you like the sun and cool internal seats for sun dodgers! Food was freshly made and fairly priced for small independent business providing quality produce. Also pet and child friendly which is great. Also had iced coffees in the hot weather!

Haven’t used the cafe for a while but decided to give it another go recently. Order a smoked salmon and cream cheese wrap to take away. Got it home, only to find the wrap was bordering on stale. It had cracked where it was folded. The cream cheese had been spread as thin as you would spread and only in the very centre of the wrap. There was a single layer of smoked salmon to the centre, which to be fair, was actually good. Over all, very disappointing and poor value! I decided to try it again the following day for a chicken Caesar baguette with “extra” bacon. The baguette was one of the bake your own variety, which is fine, except it had clearly been baked the day before, at least! It was stale. The “extra” bacon, which I had been charged for, was virtually non existent, for a regular serving, let alone “extra”. It makes you wonder if these businesses cut corners to save a few pence, or if they just lose sight of quality control. Either way, I will not be going back, which is a great shame as it always used to be excellent and consistently so.

The food and coffee is really good with a varied selection of cakes. The staff are welcoming too. I bought a jar of Kentish Honey that was locally produced.

Went for afternoon tea with a friend last weekend and it was very moorish. The staff made us both feel very welcome and I have already recommended it to my friends. I love the new look it's very modern but at the same time relaxing and so comfortable that we ended staying far longer than we planned. We will be going back again very soon to try something else to eat next time.

Lovely location just off A20, well present & prepared food & drink. If only everybody could make a flat white coffee. Catch coffee and sandwiches on your way to Hythe or on return to Ashford. 👌

My daughter and I had lunch here and were pleasantly surprised, the cafe was immaculately clean and our lunch a quiche with salad was freshly prepared and delicious. we will definitely be coming back.

What a lovely little find this place is! It's quiet and cosy, it's in beautiful surroundings, and the food is fresh and home made. Add to that friendly and attentive staff for whom nothing is too much trouble. What's not to like? :)

We stopped here for lunch with our small group tour of 14 people today. We arranged beforehand to be served soup, sandwiches and cakes. We had lovely and very attentive service and felt well taken care of. We had carrot and ginger soup which was beautiful. That was followed by a selection of sandwiches and then a selection of cakes. It was a thoroughly delightful meal and a great way to spend our afternoon. It was everything I expected and then some. We would gladly return!

We have used this restaurant on several occasions however on a recent visit the service was appalling. It took a long time for our order to be taken - customers that came in after us were served first. Wanting to order more drinks and cake we were told by the waitress that she would be with us shortly. She did not materialise So we gave up, paid the bill and left. When we commented on the poor service we were told that they were busy. On the plus side we were offered 'something' by way of apology and thanked for our feedback.

I have been here many times over the last year and it's been perfect

Arranged to meet some friends here and all had cream teas. Some had coffee instead of tea as their drink. When the bill came we were charged over £6 more for the coffee. At no time were we told coffee would be more as it is usual in all the places we have been to that either tea or coffee are served for the same price. Very disappointing, won't go here again.

I am quite astounded by some of these reviews.........too pricey?......not good value for money? I have always found the food to be fresh, delicious and the coffee is lovely....especially as they do a soya latte too. They cater to food allergies. As for the too...

Don't get me wrong, the food is ok here. Nothing special when considering what the owner has called her business but nice for a spot of lunch... However, don't think you will leave this place satisfied, the last few times we have been the portion...

The choice was limited but this made for swift service and a high standard of dishes and their presentation. Drinks were also praised by those who opted for them and the very reasonable cost just made 3 figures. We'll go again when occasion offers.

Never been disappointed with what I've had however been disappointed with lack of opening times. For example not open on Sunday's.

We went here for lunch one weekday and it was expensive yuk! I had a pannii but it tasted like oven cleaner, it really was vile! My daughter had a cake and that tasted stale.. wouldn't be a place I'd recommend.

My family always tell me you can get a good coffee and cake here. I had 30 minutes to kill so popped in.Ordered a nice looking cupcake and espresso. The coffee was bitter / burnt and the cake very dry, I suspect it was a few days old. Very disappointing.

Can here for the wake after a funeral. Was greeted by a lovely looking building that was very smart and well looked after with nice outdoor seating. Had coffee that was proper ground coffee, Not out of a machine but put through a French press. a light buffet had been prepared and all of it was fresh and beautifully made. There was a brilliant selection of sandwiches as well as cakes and scones. A very nice selection of savouries. I fully recommend the sausage rolls! Without a doubt I will be coming back here. I fully recommend it to anyone.

With great attention to detail, from décor, to dish presentation; this lovely Restaurant offers a superb menu. We had breakfast there and got surprised with nice portions and variety of choices. The owner (former cook to Royalty) would serve you herself and the staff is very attentive.

Have eaten here a couple of times now, and each time the food has been amazing, the staff friendly and the setting is beautiful. For the food you get, the price is really quite reasonable, although I suppose it's a little bit pricier than some lunch venues in Ashford.

Stopped off for a quick lunch & received a smashing eggs benedict...good size portions ,good service & good value..Well done Barbara Ann ,I will definately return..

To celebrate my daughter doing so well in her 2nd year at uni on the spur of the moment we decided to nip out for some lunch but didn't fancy Ashford town centre. Though it was very quiet there was still a welcoming and friendly atmosphere and the waitress was very attentive. I had the special which was a fillet of salmon on a bed of new potatoes, asparagus and watercress sauce and it was truly first class. This was a £5.95 lunch which you would expect to pay at least double for on an evening menu. Had visited there about a year ago but definitely won't leave it so long next time.

Usually go for a cream tea, scones are melt in the mouth, thick clotted cream and locally made jams. Friendly service.

Out taking the dogs for a walk on a very cold March day again so put the dogs in the car after the walk and called in for some really excellent soup ( home made) and after their excellent coffee. Just what was needed to restore the human soul.

How can I recommend this little cafe come restaurant any more!!For starters, Barbara-Ann is an absolutely wonderful lady. She is so accommodating, so fun and so lovely! Really makes your visit enjoyable.As for the food - wow!! The homemade cakes are to die for, offering a huge range (even for those with dietary requirements!). The lunches are also so flavoursome, I have huge respect for anyone able to bake and cook meals similarly wonderfully.But my main reason for this comment is after the incredible Mexican night we went on here. The food was, quite simply, out of this world. Homemade down to each tortilla chip, I can guarantee it is the best Mexican I have ever had - and this is my favourite cuisine so I have tried many!Although it is tucked out of the way, please do go in for a visit. You will be so impressed!

Called in after a very cold walk with the dogs ( they stayed in the car). Excellent coffee and quality panini all consumed in a warm environment. Helpful staff.
