The best restaurants serving Default food in Victoria Sefton North West

It's 20 odd degrees outside and there simply isn't enough chairs outside, although last year there was many more, why wouldn't you replace the old ones. Makes no sense whatsoever. What brains of Britain is running this place, ridiculous.

Wasn't expecting it to be my last time in the Blues of old but as usual it was a pleasant experience with the usual friendly welcome, this time from owner Ann rather than Jo or other staff. For some reason Ann omitted to inform me that the Downes family's ownership of the venue was about to end - indeed Blues was, to me at least, unexpectedly closed the following week. This has left a big gap as far as I'm concerned in Crosby's hospitality venues, as even though Blues stopped selling its well looked after real ales following the covid years and has within the last 12 months also stopped evening meals I always made a habit of popping in for a beer or coffee when in Moor Lane as there was a guaranteed welcome from the likes of the aforementioned Ann & Jo but also Sandy, Caitlyn, Jack, Jen, Keith, Lynn..... indeed all those who worked there be they part of the family that owned Blues or any of the young and enthusiastic staff behind the bar or n the kitchen. You will all be very much missed. Hopefully the new owners will revive Blues' evening food offerings, proper meals & not silly "small plates" please and perhaps even put hand-pumps back on the bar.

Very nice fish and chips, freshly cooked fish and chicken breast.

Fabulous place - they remember you even if you are not a regular. Clean well cooked food - best fried eggs in Christendom - attentive staff - great prices - pleasant old-fashioned ambience - good value.

This is an absolute gem of a place! The staff are so friendly and welcoming, the food is delicious every single time, and the entire venue is spotless! The Pioneer has fast become one of our favourites in the area, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend visiting

hi am sorry to inform you but my food qwality was absalutly poor if possible i would like refund as I am having an awful lot offf friends complayning about it please i would like to keep ordering off ur good selfs as its always been fine upuntill this order

Really enjoyed my time the good and service was brilliant especially the brownies which were amazing considering they were even gluten free! Can’t wait to get back there and try more of the food on the menu

Nothing special. The business has risen their prices drastically over the past year however the quality and quantity has rapidly declined £11 for 6 small and thin chicken breasts. Get better value elsewhere

Fish dry and chips not great unfortunately

I had to wait for a very long time, 2 hours have passed and the pizza hasn't arrived yet

I haven't visited Dace for quite a while (probably pre covid) - it was good to see that the same lovely family are still in charge, although I felt ancient when I realised the two 'boys' are now adults! However I just want to mention that the service was great as always, lovely coffee, pot of tea and my mum's scone was excellent. The star of the show was the brownie - I have honestly never tasted better - so a big thank you to Theo, the creator of the Dace brownie which made my day. It really was better than Chris's (and Theo didn't tell me to say that) It was great to rediscover this family run establishment - pop in, you won't be disappointed!

Last night bought a king fried fried rice and good some rubish black rice fried in 9 days old oil. At the end throw away in the rubish . Worst Chinese take away in Merseyside , dirty , dangerous food poison nothing else . One star is too much for these idiots.

Ordered Beef Curry with chips. Got to be the worst Curry I've ever had. It obviously didn't help that it was cold, but it was a pale, insipid and overall discusting mess. We won't be going back! My advice...don't go there.
