Great place for the Fish and Chips. They also have many other meals on the menu

Considering we are locals this has been a chippy we have came too for years, however in recent years food sadly isn’t what it used to be. Tends to taste under seasoned even after asking for extra salt for example, not very generous on toppings on salt and pepper chips. Fish is very bland and can be quite soggy at times, regular chips can be undercooked frequently. To be honest for the price I’d say you’re better off going Fongs in terms of local chippy’s

Ordered an egg fried rice last night. More like fried rice. Hardly any egg in it. No other ingredients involved. Boring!

Can rely on this chippy to provide a high standard of food every time I visit here. Staff are friendly and is service is quick with a genuine smile.

Shocking food and prices attitude of the female serving even worse had to ask for a fork and change thrown at me.

Thought I’d try this for the first time and what a mistake that was. Ordered a salt and pepper chips for £3.60 for them to scrimp and save on the pepper and onions. I understand there’s a cost of living crisis but your food reflects the price hike. At least have the decency to use the right amount of product. There was only 1 piece of pepper and hardly any onions. The chip was drenched in oil and just soggy. Even that 1 piece of pepper tasted like it was off. Avoid at all cost!!!!

Have been to Mike's before and really enjoyed it. However when I went on Friday, my special Foo Yung was over cooked and the boiled rice was gloopy (not edible). My partner's chips was under cooked and his curry beef was tough. After having recommended Mike's to various people, I was left disappointed by our meals.

Really billing chippy which we have been going to for years. The food is great especially the Chinese food. They do occasionally miss an odd thing off the order when they are very busy but it is only when they are very busy and if you check your order or call them up they usually have it ready quickly.

Almost always packed and busy. But the waiting time is worth it.

Brilliant local chippy! Excellent service and food. Had quite a few meals from there from English to Chinese dishes. All spot on and very tasty. You know a chippy is good when theres a queue of people. That being said, service is very, very quick and food is ready quickly too. Gets busy on Friday ans Saturday evenings but thats to be expected. Very friendly staff and reasonable prices. Kebabs, burgers, english dishes, noodles, chinese food, some thai i think too. Excellent all round!

Counter staff are rude, Mike is rude … The only two staff members I would give their due is Eileen and the man with the bandana (unsure of his name sorry!) Food is tasteless, prices for the items are ridiculous… And I understand the cost of living crisis has impacted this but this chippy went downhill a LONG time ago. Was a returning customer for years but will never come back again.

Heard lots of good things about this place so i tryed it for just chips there is 2 prices 1. 70. 2.30 I asked for sml 1. 70, the guy b4 me asked for small chips and carton of curry his chips.was more plentyfull than mine i didnt get a bag my car now smells of chip fat, the chips was more cripy bits than something i caN eat i dont complain alot but this wasnt nice today , young man on the counter was nice polite but very quiet looked like didnt want to be there thats something we all feel some times shame.

Lovely big pieces of fish, chips were lovely and fresh. Mushy peas were a nice consistency. The salt and pepper chicken was well worth the price as you got 6/7 big pieces. The chicken Chowmein was lovely too, made with thin noodles, with onions, peppers and bean sprouts that were cooked just right. Really recommend them for taste and freshness, they even threw in a free bottle drink too!

Went to Mikes tonight and ordered chicken fried rice and a portion of chips and it was dreadful chips anaemic and chicken fried rice was tasteless. Been going there for years and I have to say this was the worst meal ever. Not enough chicken and just a few slices of spring onion, won’t be going there again. Not worth even the one star I have given it sorry to say.

Very close to Crosby beach. Choose due to 4.2 Rating here on Google Maps. Not disappointed, both had large fish with small chips in a tray with S&V. Took back to Marine Park in Waterloo and eat them on a shady bench there. So freshly cooked they were still piping hot. Awesome fresh fish, light & crispy batter plus chips that actually tasted of potatoes and not the fat they were cooked in. Chippy was spotlessly clean, really busy but efficient with plenty of polite staff so you weren't waiting long for your order. First class and 5-Stars - highly recommended to anyone with 15-20 mins drive - well worth it 👌🏼👍🏻😀

Orderd food as a treat for my family and children Put fone order in picked it up (from bootle) got home the pies were missing which sadly was what the children ordered,I called back and the lady apologised and said come back to pick them up When I arrived I discreetly spoke to the Chinese woman and explained im the lady who didn't get the pies..she started saying you never payed for pies you will Have to pay again? I said excuse me I ordered 3 pies you apologised on fone and have just made me drive back from bootle ;she said not my problem..absolutel joke and the food was mediocre,I did not take any money with me as was told to come back gor them Only to be told I wasn't charges for them.. thanks for nothing ,waste of petrol and had to go buy more food elsewhere

I ordered garlic prawns as part of a £20+ order only to find 90%+ of the prawns had not been detained, I spoke to 'Mike' the owner of the chippy, and astonishing he stated that's how he eats them, (excrement included) he said and I quote "we only devain the king prawn dishes" I would suggest not ordering prawn dishes from this establishment .

Thought I would get a chicken kebab rather than the donner,you know try be bit more healthy,it looks great but I won’t be getting another it was vile didn’t even finish it straight in the bin ,will be sticking to my usual order from now on which is always spot on

Bought a Traditional Fish and Chips dinner for me and my Mum . We live 15 mins away. The food was still piping hot. Fish and chips were hot and delicious the best we have had in a long time. Loved the Traditional box they came in. Will definitely visit again and recommend to friends and family .😘❤

Fish is fantastic and easily the best in the local area. Let down by the chips which are so so as they always end up soggy and bland. They could do with being thicker and crisper. Good chinese options and can definitely recommed the chicken chow mein

Enjoyed our meals and would return again

Did phone order .. went to collect and given meal. Got home and one meal missing. Went all way back . Apparently they don’t do mixed grill now although it’s still on the board and in their paper menu leaflet . Asked girl who took order why she hadn’t said anything and she then changed her story by saying she didn’t hear us order it.. I have conversation taped on our phone and she actually asked did we want chips with it! She stood and argued and shouted in front of other customers. This is not the first time our order has been wrong. After being a customer for over 10 years I will not be returning .

Lovely fish and chips. Best ever not the cheapest though but worth it.

Called in tonight, placed my order and member of staff was lovely. However, as I was standing waiting there was some confusion as she thought another member of staff had taken part of my order. This discussion went on for a few minutes. As a result I double checked my order in the car and an item was missing. They did sort it out but this meant waiting again and the rest of my food was left on the side going cold. I had to ask for it to be kept warm, which was done grudgingly. I was asked to pay more money, which is fine, but I queried total bill as it seemed expensive, and was told 2 pots of mushy peas cost £2.80! Got home to discover I had been given 2 pots of curry instead. My food was also cold so had to be reheated in the microwave. Additionally, the sign on the door said only 4 people allowed inside at a time but the waiting area was full of people. I appreciate it was a busy time but not much social distancing happening at all. No attempt to regulate this either.

Great food & staff work so hard but seriously need some kind of numbering system for orders on a Friday night as it's chaos - waiting outside in the cold & rain for 15/20 mins is no joke when your food is inside going cold. Says only 4 allowed in but there were about 10 in there.

Nice salt n pepper chips, was even asked if I wanted salt n vinegar on them which I thought was a bit kinky

phoned order in 15 mins before we arrived,large group of mask wearing people queuing outside whist orders stacked on hot plate inside. food steamed whilst staff worked inside behind plastic screen. no one asking if telephone orders had been placed . never again.

This was my first visit to Mikes and I have to say I really enjoyed my food. Since moving to Liverpool in May 2016 I have found it hard to find really good tasting chips And finally, I've found some. I stopped off there with my 2 young daughters after going to the Cinema, we all loved the chips and I also tried their Chicken Donor meat and that was also tasty and a big portion, I have to say. I live in the Kensington Area of Liverpool and I will definitely make the 25 minutes drive to go there again. The staff were very friendly and recommended their fish, which I will try on my next visit.

Fuimos el lunes a mediodía. Pedimos pescado frito con patatas fritas y mi marido consiguió patatas fritas y guisantes maltratadas. El pescado fue cocinado a la perfección lo mejor que he probado y he tenido muchos. Todo el pedido fue de 5 estrellas y el servicio al cliente de la señora fue de primera clase, muy amable y eficiente. He estado en la tienda varias veces durante todo el año, pero esta vez fue de lejos el mejor.

Had a lovely takeaway from here last weekend. Premises look lovely and clean. Food was tasty. The staff were really nice and friendly especially the guy from Cyprus who gave me a complimentary can of Dr.Peppers. Really nice touch. My daughters were impressed.

Brilliant! Visited Tuesday lunchtime, advised there would be a few minutes delay as fish being cooked fresh to order. It was excellent, some of the best we've ever had. Service was spot on too.

Mikes used to be a great chippy, but unfortunately the last few times we have been there at lunch time the quality has been very poor. Pies barley warm and chips very under cooked swimming in oil. The last lot went straight in the bin! Will be looking to find another chippy in Crosby/Waterloo for lunch.

My wife was at her sisters so fancied a take away settled on Mikes I had the chicken fried rice loads of chunky chicken and plenty of rice tasty and hot. Not much of a queue so served quick great chippy

Mikee's is AMAZING the only bad thing is "THEY DONT DELIVER " come on Mike get on Just Eat or Deliver, you would clear up. .

Bad chippy because the Staff are so scruffy looking and with very dirty clothes on them with food slops down front and stains all down the front of clothes and talking away a lot with spit comimg from mouths as they talking a lot while serving the food ans also coughing while around food so i could not eat it it got binned so im not going back as the staff look like dirty scruffs and need to wear clean clothes at least! The service staff let's this chip shop down. So now im not sure how clean behind the scenes are if the front staff are this unclean. So I'd be surprised if this place has a five star hyguine rating? As the staff serving are not even wearing clean uniforms / clothes I will not be recommending or going back.
