Friendly staff, great choice of food

Really disappointed with the food from this chippy. I asked for a portion of chips and a pie. The server said I might have to wait a couple of minutes for the chips....30 seconds later she said here's your order. Blimey that was quick. I got home and found out why the chips were just the crispy bits in the bottom of the fryer, and the pie was as hard as a rock, I certainly won't be going back there.

Had food from here loads of normally very nice but this time absolutely orfull what is going on with tahini sauce lately the tahini was rank the pitta was rock hard and stale asked for extra salad with kebab and extra cucumber got hardly any salad ans 2 slices of un fresh cucumber may have to change my chippy plus kebab meat not very nice most of it went in bin yuk

See below first review Been going here for god knows how long, since late 80's early 90's, and has never failed to be great food, pity not on Just Eat as sometimes don't have cash and would love to order online at times, even so highly recommended. I love hot and sour soup, but none of tried locally where i can order from even come close to Peeps, just the best

I really love this place. Sadly I lived near it for years but only started going recently. They do the nicest chips and fish. And I love their curry

Ok my expierence was so bad we had to give the food back we ordered 2 large fish dinners and it came as 2 x fish only . But the shock was that they try to con us We had a menu posted through our door about 1 week ago and it says small cod £4 large cod £5 . when we got the order apart from it being wrong they give us small fish and try to say we only do 1 size now even tho the menu says 2 sizes . They try to con us by giving us small fish and not large ones . They told us fish had gone up in price so we only do 1 size and the menu was a old menu even tho we got it posted a week ago . Am sure they are putting it through the till as a small fish and pocketing the difference . order was given back and we went to another chip shop the fish we got from another chip shop was twice the size and it was cod to we have been coming here for a long time and this is not the first time they have done this to us but we will never go back again for the fibs that they told us and the size of the fish was shocking it would of not feed a kid never mind a adult it would of been better to just give us 2 fishfingers this place has gone right down the pan and never ever will we go back

Beautiful food I've never had a bad meal. Always large portions always very tasty. Well priced.whole family had different meals and everyone was tasty hot and plenty of food

Wouldn’t bother getting chinese food here, Asked for chicken chow mein and apparently a box of dry fried noodles in chow mein. Never again!

Stopped off as late finishing work , disappointing Fish and chips. Waited for kebab, this was lovely and fresh. Fish was like rubber and cold as where the peas potted up before Kebab was cooked. Requested small chips and fish. Order came as large chips small fish. Expensive failed meal.

Food was terrible. Live out of the area but used to always make a traditional stop at peeps but as of now this will be my last time. Food was terrible. Got chips in a kebab for some weird reason which were half cooked pitta bread wrap separate on top of the box the girls on the front where. Trying to help but the cook and one of the backstaff ghad no clue what was going on and if it wasn't for the two girls on the front taken orders the whole meal would have been messed up

Absolutely shocking stay well clear of this place

Chips are flavourless. Foods bland and cold when delivered. Staff who answer the phones are snotty. No pleases or thank yous. Had a savoury cake. Basically just battered mash

Service was shocking. There is no leader. No one knew what orders were where. We were literally just waiting for something to go wrong. The time we waited was average I'd say for 2 large salt and pepper boxes. Everything was hot but there was a but of whispering (alarm bells in head) and then we got the boxes. When we opened them there were no onion rings as it said on menu ( hence the whispering I'm guessing) so rather than 2 onion rings they put 1 child's potato smiley face in. Why not just tell the customer unless they were confused. No idea. Food was hot though and tasted nice and very good portions. Appearance was well, a mess.

I can honestly say I love the food at peeps I've been ordering here for years. But every time I am about to phone my order through I have to mentally prepare myself to speak to the most unprofessional dumb staff. It's like trying to order food with someone that has learning difficulties. The owner of this establishment needs to have someone with a minimal education and minimal elecution skills maning the phones and not the gimps that do it now.

Terrible scran, just got a kebab, cheap pitta bread just lashed on top of a tray full of tasteless chicken, chips i didn't ask for and warm salad. Garlic bread was cremated and didnt taste of anything 👍 dont waste your money!

This is the first time been to peeps what amazing service the lady on the phone who taken my order was lovely the food was amazing would recommend this chippy to anyone I will not be going back to my old chippy I will be staying with peeps thank you for the lovely food best money well spent 🥰🤪 xx

asked for a chicken kebab ,,i got chicken chips,,the chips were not requested ,,no pitta no salad no mayo ,,,used to be ok this chippy ,,,there always in a rush on the phone with the order ,,so therefore when the order turns up its ALWAYS wrong,,just listen to what the customer wants ...anyway it got binned

Made a small order the women behind the counter clearly forgot about us, stood waiting for 15 minutes before they realised, they didn't apologise for the wait. Then one of the women short changed my girlfriend for £10. The food was ok I suppose nothing special. We have had not a very good experience here in past, decided to give it a second chance but we were disappointed. Won't be coming back.

Food delivered fast, but it was absolutely awful.. freezing and tasteless. A complete waste of money as most went in the bin…. I would not recommend here at all.

Average food, was ok for the price and staff friendly

Even though peeps meant to shut at 11 we arrived at 9.30 for a donner kebab and chicken kebab. Was told that there was no donner meat left - even though there was one on the spit. They said they were not turning it back on as too late. They were wiping around the spit and looking as though trying to get early dart. They could not be arsed.

Lovely food, highly recommended, but a bit hectic it the shop with so many staff behind the counter , will go again when visiting area

I feel I have to leave a review,I have been using this chip shop for over four years .I travel a good 30 miles round trip for a special fried rice ,which cannot be beaten . And look forward to the next one ,five stars . Colin from Southport .

Never had a bad meal, always friendly staff and fast service

Unfortunately, ever since this has been put out under new ownership, the food has not been as good as it used to be. However, off past experience the staff are very nice, the food can be hit and miss but overall just a standard shop. Chips can be vile sometimes though. Haven’t been for around 2 years though so could of changed. I have seen the branding change a lot recently so maybe I should try it again?

Absolutely disgusting, green drain water would probably taste better. Was sceptical as they sell so many different types of takeaway.

Woman who took the order was really snotty - hope the food is better. *UPDATE* kofte kebab delivered 🤢 "salad" consisted of stringy limp lettuce, 2 pieces of tomato and pickled red cabbage (?) , accompanied by half a tray of anaemic greasy chips

Ordered a chicken kebab, chicken curry & some salt & pepper chips between us. Plenty enough food for 2 people at good prices. Chicken kebab was lovely and fresh, come with chips which I didn’t know about. The curry was also lovely, spicy. Salt & pepper chips had a lovely taste but were quite soggy.

Ordered a chicken kebab, normal kebab portion of chips and a couple of scallops. Only thing edible was scallops- all rest went in bin. If the staff concentrated on cooking food properly instead of laughing and joking about- nt a problem if they did good food - then maybe would have more customers

This happened earlier, I ordered two steak dinners and won ton noodle soup at 18.55 it finally arrived at 20.05. 1hour ten minutes later, it takes 3mins by car from there to my location. I said “ it’s been 1h 10mins” what I got was shrug of the shoulders like it couldn’t be helped, so I felt the food and it was just a bit warm. I said “ no I’m not having that sorry it’s not hot” He then said “l’m checking to see when you ordered it” He knew exactly when I rang I said it as soon as I opened the door to him lol.

Since lockdown we have been going to this chippy and the staff and food is tops.

I've never had a problem with the food always get a couple of sausages for the dog. And now and again wen the owner sees the dog he always give her a sausage while we wait for r meal. Thanks from a boxer owner 👍

We do actually eat here from time to time. The food is Ok. Nothing special but edible. The staff are snotty. Don’t think I’ve ever heard a please or thank you from them. Speak to you like they’re doing you a favour by serving you mediocre food. The girls on the phone and front of house sound like they should be extras in a poor tv soap portraying the worst possible scouse accent you could imagine. Alls they need to say to sell it is “lad ye gorra light there fella”.

Ordered pizza,when eating it found a peice of pointy plastic in it,called peeps,came and collected pizza and ortherwise not interested.wont be ordering from there,didn't even get the order right in the 1st place,forgot the pizza.

With so many fast food outlets closed Peeps remains open. So very busy but for me I love chippy chips with my fish on Friday's and Peep's has been a life saver. The food orders are flying out and the smell of the cooked food is amazing

Called in to get a large fish. And was served a fish, which I said to staff I ordered a large fish when owner piped up that this is a large fish.Left shop feeling ripped off so now I go that little extra walk to George Gerry's which state large fish an boy their fish are large so people go that little further away an I promise you won't be disappointed. Bye peeps!

Never had any problems with this chipy better than George and Jerry's and yan sings top marks they always give the dog a sausage. Got a fish dinner hadn't had a problem. The family got a salt and pepper chicken they have sed the best one so far .top marks mr peeps staff r always perlite thanks

A review from a southerner ! I found my self after something hot , and this chip shop was the nearest to the place I was working , ordered sausage , chips and curry sauce , was great .

Well ordered at 4pm 3 fish incinerated warm up chips the only thing good was the curry how they could send that delivery out to me it was awful paid nearly £19 and I use chippy often enough never again they must of known what they were giving us in the bin

I love ordering from peeps on nights when I just can't be bothered to cook. The food is always spot on, and when I ring for delivery, I'm always greeted like a friend, and they have always remembered that I have certain food allergies. And when the food is delivered its always hot, and the delivery person is always friendly. I can't recommend this place enough.

The only redeeming feature is the staff are nice I've had uncooked sausages long waits anemic chips missing items gravy instead of curry ect . it's a shame it used to be all right years ago and you think when the new one opened practically next door they would of improved the food over the years to compete but no still disgusting.

Peeps is fine for your standard fish and chips, portions are generous and the chips are good. Kebabs are also tasty and value for money. However, I would not recommend the Chinese menu, have had several dishes and have not been impressed. In fact, the Singapore fried rice was inedible. There are much better Chinese takeaways around within a stone's throw of here.

Don't bother ordering from here at all! Items missing from your oders that you STILL pay for and long black hair in the food. A total waste of time and money. I wish I was making this up! I would have rated this ZERO stars if that option was available. Go somewhere else!

This place is nowhere near to where I live but my partner usually bring me tasty food when we fancy some. Very generous sized meals, excellent cooks, extensive menu, not overpriced. Try it if you have not been - it's so good you'll be back for more!
