This takeaway lied to say they are hmrc approved. Hmrc doesnt list them as halal at all. We questioned this and were told you can either buy what they have or leave as they will not clarify anything. We asked where they get their meat from. They said its halal and thats all we need to know. The stickers are on display etc. we told them hmrc hasnt approved them as we checked so the stickers are false. But if they are approved by any other halal monitoring body then thats fine but they said they dont have to explain themselves. The attitude was appalling and dismissive so we left and ordered our food elsewhere where the owners/staff can explain and verify where the meat comes from. As a consumer we should be allowed to ask basic questions re where the food we are being served is coming from. But this owner didnt want to answer any questions and lied about the halal status with hmrc which left us doubting its halal status entirely.

We didn't eat there but the atmosphere was amazing and good beer too. I could also get on board with the karaoke aswell.

we've ordered here many times and always had a decent breakfast. This mornings breakfast baton was awful, definitely change the sausages. They were worse than frozen vegan ones. won't be ordering again.

Stunning place, great atmosphere with amazing views. Staff are friendly, fast service and clean. Fully wheelchair accessible, radar key for the disabled loo. I had sausage and mash which was lush! My partner had fish and chips but the fish was frozen and over cooked. Great place, avoid the fish, chips were fab x

We have been to the Italian Orchard numerous times over the years as we live locally. Sadly, each and every time has disappointed us. The venue itself is beautiful and has so much potential but unfortunately both the food and the service let it down. It is always so busy, but you are always just a number. They want you in and they want you out. Staff are rude and abrupt. The menu is vast but nothing (and we’ve tried a lot) is “good”, it is all very average and overpriced! We now decline invites or family meals here as it’s not worth the price tag. Good children’s play area but you’re not allowed to sit outside with food or drink so it’s pointless!

The Anderton Arms never disappoints! From the moment you walk through the door, the staff make you feel genuinely welcome — friendly, attentive, and always happy to help. Whether it's a quick lunch or a relaxed evening meal, they go above and beyond to make sure you’re well looked after. The food is consistently excellent, with generous portions and full of flavour. Everything we ordered was beautifully cooked and clearly made with care. You can tell they take pride in both their service and their menu. The atmosphere is warm and inviting — a real gem of a pub. Highly recommended!

Fantastic stay here recently. From arrival until we left, every staff member we came in contact with were fantastic. Super friendly and helpful. All up for a chat including the housekeeping staff. It was really refreshing. Free parking, able to check in early and close to everything in the centre. The beds were comfortable and room was clean and presentable. Only downside is the bathrooms definitely need renovating in this hotel. The rooms and communal areas are lovely though. We would happily stay in this Holiday Inn again. The staff here deserve all the recognition.

Never had a problem in previous visits but this particular night the steak was over well done which we didn't ask for also the mushrooms were burnt Desert and starters were nice
