Stunning place, great atmosphere with amazing views. Staff are friendly, fast service and clean. Fully wheelchair accessible, radar key for the disabled loo. I had sausage and mash which was lush! My partner had fish and chips but the fish was frozen and over cooked. Great place, avoid the fish, chips were fab x

Food was amazing deffo coming back, got serverd by an amazing chap called kayden was amazing brought everything out to us made sure everything was okay however the fire exit kept locking him out 🤣🤣and we kept letting him back in Atmosphere was okay but not as good as a pne away day 🤣

Nice pub with a pretty location on the docks. Service at the bar from Sophie was very friendly and she had good menu knowledge and suggested the cowboy burger which was good.

Had a lovely walk around the docks with our dog then came here for a drink after. Service was amazing as always! Very friendly and welcoming, would like to mention Liam who served us. What a lovely lad he is! He's a credit to the company.

To many people smoking there should be smoking area

I cannot praise Sally and the team enough at the Ribble Pilot. From the warm welcome received on entrance right through to the excellent  service and the tasty food. Everything is five star! Having a medical condition which limits my food selection I often worry if eating establishments are able to cater for my needs. Though on every occasion Sally has never made this an issue and has has gone out of her way to ensure that I can enjoy a lovely meal with family and friends. I would highly recommend.

First visit for a while and can't say it was a good experience firstly a very limited choice of non alcoholic beer ( a cider and a pale ale) ordered the food told it was an half hour wait ,that was fine as in no rush . After three quarters of an hour and seeing people who ordered after us i saw one of the staff who politely said she would check it out. She came and said it would be a couple of minutes to get word the food came. Looked like it had been under a heat lamp for a while the chips looked very well done and the baguette loookrd very crispy to say the least in fact the chips where cold and the baguette just warm .

Been in this pub a few times. Food was lovely, service was amazing, amazing polite staff. Would give it more stars if I could. Thank you for a lovely meal.

Nice enough pub. Order at bar or on app like many pubs these days. Food was standard pub fayre, good enough. Nice spacious place, plenty parking, pleasant outlook over the water. Just what we needed for a large family group on the way to a local attraction.

Lovely pub and location great. Very clean and organised. Staff all super friendly and helpful. Decent beers and wine selection. Food good, served hot and large portion sizes. Been a few times now over the last couple of months. Service always excellent and any problems sorted immediately and professionally. Looking forward to more visits as the weather picks up .

My family and I came in a larger group for a birthday celebration and had a lovely time. The staff were very accommodating with helping us surprise the birthday person with their cake. The food could be ordered by QR code, allowing substitutions to be made easily.

Went for early lunch today, really friendly staff and the food and service was excellent, we will definitely be visiting again. We'll done to all the team.

We booked a table for 2 & we enjoyed everything the food the drinks & the view from the window too. I have just booked for the next Bank Holiday as it is our favourite pub now.

Really good find as I take clients for lunch In Preston regularly and this pub was really great and good views over the marina. Staff were really quick, helpful and friendly.Monica who served us was great and food was hot, tasty and arrived quickly. Can't fault it, I'll definitely be back

Me and my son has a lovely meal at Ribble Pilot on Easter and walked away more than satisfied. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, with a nice mix of locals and visitors enjoying the riverside view. The staff were friendly and attentive without being overbearing, which made for an easy, comfortable dining experience. Food-wise, everything we ordered was spot-on. The Sunday roast we tried for the first time and the ships were crisp and golden, very fresh – clearly a local favorite for good reason. The steak was cooked exactly as requested. Prices were reasonable considering the portion sizes and quality. All in all, Ribble Pilot delivers exactly what you’d hope for: good food, good service, and a relaxed, coastal vibe. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area.

Always happy to come to a warm welcome at the Pilot - food can be a bit hit and miss depending on what you order, but the drinks are always on point and the staff are brill!

We had a lovely meal and excellent service this evening at the Ribble Pilot. It was busy due to good weather but the staff were friendly and helpful. We had a child with us who decided to collect all the sauces off all the tables, so special shout out to Monica who rather than being annoyed by this helped him put them all back and made it a game . Service with a smile and good food too. We'll be back

Nice atmosphere and polite staff, but it was quite crowded, and my meal wasn’t quite right.

I’ve had the sudden fried chicken Burger & it was the best chicken burger ever. Thank you to the Chef that made it.

The steak and ale pie was really good

1) Didn't have a container to put the milk in when serving a cup of tea milk was served in a separate cup and had to 'chase it down'. 2) food took around 45 mins to serve wasnt busy. 3) Didn't seem a very friendly environment behind the bar 4) One side of my steak was 'charcoal' either a dirty grill/pan or heat too high burnt part of the steak was put burnt side down to disguise the error. Didn't complain as didn't have time to wait for another steak. 5) My sons salad was 'wilting' (I have read this previously on here) Never complain lightly as reviews can be damaging but nowhere even close to satisfactory from start to finish this place looks like it's giving up!

An hour wait for the food without any apology or explanation. Meal was small and not very warm. Second round of drinks never provided. Spacious setting however wouldn't return.

Fish finger sandwich. Stale bread. Tarta sauce on bread smothered on mixed with mayo. Fish fingers horrible. Chips awful and dry. Hot chocolate Luke warm. Chilli jacket. No chilli in it. Potato ok. Not worth the money

Absolutely brilliant so me and my partner came here for a Boxing Day meal and we were running behind so we rang and asked if we could change the time to which they were very helpful and understanding in letting us do so when we got there we were early which again they did not have a issue with this either we sat down and not long after that they brought out the starter which was absolutely delicious the best garlic breaded mushrooms ever then we get the mains which was minted lamb shank with mashed potatoes and veg which again was absolutely delicious best lamb shank I have ever had literally fell off the bone the deserts I had Christmas berry crumble and my partner had caramel tart both was absolutely amazing the service was bloody brilliant and the front of house staff were amazing also asking if we were ok and if the food was ok which we can’t fault there was nothing that we could fault on was so brilliant because of that we gave the front of house a tip which I hope will be split and shared between all the front of house and kitchen staff thanks again will definitely be planning another trip

An office lunch was excellent. The staff in particular Sue, Dan and Matt who served us were brilliant. Good food and the pub was happily busy.

Recently visited for the first time in many years for a midweek lunch. The pub has had a full refurb since last there and is well done. There were a number of people in, some eating some not. I ordered jacket potato with veggie chilli and side salad, which comprised of usual mixed salad in addition to a dressing of soya beans, quinoa , brown rice and kale. The wait time was bearable and table service available. Unfortunately due to the lack of chilli and most of the salad missing, I returned my meal, something I never do. For the cost, it was very disappointing. The chilli had been over warmed and was dry and there was very little of it ie. Approx 1 tablespoon spread on top and around the sides of the potato. My salad was missing everything except lettuce leaves, red pepper and onion. The waiter agreed I was right to return the dish. I waited some 15 minutes for my replacement by which time my partner had almost finished his meal. The second portion had more chilli and some of the missing salad items, not all. The waiter explained the menu was new and released the previous day and chefs were still learning what should be served with each dish. He also talked about how the company only allows a certain quantity of food portion per person, which appears to be very small from my experience! On this occasion the chefs apparently served me more than my entitlement! Still not average as it all fitted on a side plate. The menu is also pricey (see photos for some of the choices available). Unfortunately, this is not somewhere I will not be rushing back too . A shame as the location overlooks the Preston Docklands, has lots of other shops in the vicinity and a path that surrounds the docks for anyone who wishes to take a stroll, admire the various boats or dog walk.

I have wrote this out already in the review and it took me 4 minutes, I’m not writing it twice.

Today was an extremely busy day at the Ribble pilot and there was only 1 lady behind the bar serving. She was rushed off her feet but still smiling and polite.

As usual the best place for your Christmas Dinner they never disappoint

I have eaten here previously and thought it would be a nice option for Christmas Day withy family. When we arrived, we had to find someone to help who then escorted us to our table. We noticed around us the tables were laid with napkins and glasses, yet ours wasn't. Never mind. They took our drink order instantly and asked if we wanted our starters which we did. The starters came very quick and although the food was lovely, another cracker for the pate would have helped. Then onto the main which again came super fast. The lamb shank was cooked beautifully and my son really enjoyed that however the rest of us had turkey. They had forgot to put any carrots on our plates (I saw plenty of turkey dinners being taken and all had carrots on), the gravy was very watery but luckily only a drizzle (would have liked more but not of the watery kind), the roast potatoes a little soggy and the broccoli hard. Not a great combination to be honest. I understand they were busy but that was a very mediocre Christmas dinner. Then we had a break before dessert but we ordered another drink. I ordered a raspberry gin to pour into my existing drink as the last one had plenty of lemonade. They brought it and I tipped it in before realising that it definitely wasn't raspberry gin. I got the attention of the lady serving us, who gave me the response, "well I put it through myself". This made me feel uneasy, as if she was telling me I was wrong. IT DEFINITELY WASN'T RASPBERRY GIN. My daughter asked her to change the drink, which she then did however when she brought it back, the response was a rather snotty, "I poured this myself"...still implying I was wrong. I do not appreciate this. We went on to have dessert and the festive crumble, was delicious. That was lovely. The cheese board that my daughter had was terrible and not as advertised! The tart and the cherry bomb were just ok though presented well. I have to say all in all, I was disappointed with the dinner and disappointed with the service. I had Christmas dinner at the harvester last time and they are miles apart. For the £300 we paid, it wasn't worth a third of it and I won't be recommending that to anyone.

Food was good, starter and desert weren't particularly heated, but lovely none the less. Lamb main and loaded spuds were fantastic. 2 of my dishes weren't clean, tables and area was perfectly clean. Friendly smiley staff, very good customer service. Would definitely eat there again if I was in the area. Ben

Food presentation was lovely, nice sized portions, and the food was delicious. Thank you to the wonderful chef. Haven't been for ages, thought would try again as was visiting Preston to see a friend who's over from overseas. Didn't book but got a nice table. Staff were friendly and welcoming, food quality was great, which was good as I recommended this place. Would recommend the the ultimate southern fried chicken burger!

Plenty of parking spaces, not too busy, table waiting, reserved in advance, pleasant and friendly staff, all food choices available and order placed and meals served promptly. All dishes hot, fresh and well presented. Soft drink prices a bit high, but overall very satisfied

Had a lovely visit to The Ribble, everyone seemed to be happy and enjoying their jobs especially Matt. I can’t believe the difference from my last visit- I hope we weren’t too noisy the wine was delicious :)

Excellent service from attentive staff. The food is not bad at all and is in a bargain price area. There's an OK range of lagers - the San Miguel is great. It's actually a pretty good pub, no complaints except that the toilets are very tired and could do with a refresh.

We went for a meal with our dog and the food ,and bar service was excellent The condition, cleanliness of the male toilets let this place down There was human dirt smeared on the walls of the cubicle I used in the gents ,this leads me to believe that there is no proper inspection of the toilets in place and this area needs a complete industrial clean

Gret View and thats it. Went in on a nice day and sat outside. Be carefull when parking on the car park as there was many stanley knife blades thrown every where. I've been served a mix grill with hair inside. Try to speak with manager but he/she never showed up. My sugestion to You all... DO NOT go in therer ever. Look at the picture.

We decided to stop by for some dinner whilst our car was getting fixed in the area. Everything that I wanted wasn’t available so I settled on the soup. It came out cold unfortunately. We ordered only 2 lots of food & 2 drinks. As the soup was technically a starter, my husbands food didn’t come out until about 10 minutes after I’d finished my soup. My husbands chips were cold also. I think when looking at the order, the staff could have come over to the table & double checked whether we wanted both food out at the same time or as a starter & main. The woman who served us was really lovely & apologised, but we are still disappointed with
