Good place to hangout with friends. It has pool tables and cam booth, as well as a smoking area.

We visited to try out the axe throwing, the host was really good fun and we had a really good time. Drinks good choice, had beavertown gamma ray and it was good service and friendly and would go back to play more of the games they have upstairs. We didn't have food and because it was early on a wednesday there very few people in there so cannot comment on the atmosphere.

Subham and Daniel very good service from them both. Hawkstone is a good shout not many places doing it. Cheers 🍺

after coming all the way from Portland, Charlie was proper sound and made sure we had a top notch night. Nearly as good as Mulligans but for in Preston it’s a great time.

Charlie was an amazing entertainer, nearly missed my axe throw because of his beautiful eyes.

Irritated about one of my past experiences. Got followed by a group of guys and defended myself, afterwards I seeked protection and had a panic attack/breakdown. What was done back then? dragged me out when police came, no calming down, no reassurance. At least it's all over

ANOTHER ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT time at Roper hall.. If you're looking for good vibes, a great DJ , perfect bar staff and reasonably priced drinks then this place is heaven on earth! My only issue is that they don't have a rewards scheme such as MIXR for regular customers like some other bars do.

The pub in Preston has a friendly bar staff, great prices, and a lovely DJ named Luke. It offers great food at affordable prices, making it a top choice in the area.

Awesome axe throwing and pub games upstairs, fantastic service and delicious drinks downstairs. We had a great works outing, although some seriously bad axe skills from some work colleagues, so I had to admit I’d probably ditch them if a zombie apocalypse ever happens!

Too early, I'm guessing, but I love the music. This is definitely a night venue. But a lovely place. Unable to comment on food etc

Amazing afternoon for bottomless brunch, I messed up and booked the wrong date but they still accepted the booking and catered for us. Lovely fast service (we even got extra time due to the messy up on my behalf) Amazing food, good atmosphere and lovely service. Will definitely be back.

Decent pub to go for pres. Might be a bit pricey compared to some other pubs around Preston but it’s got a good atmosphere

good burger and fries, dough balls and mai tai. food came quick but was missing the coleslaw. atmosphere is dead during the day but that is to be expected! good deals as well, 25% off food and 241 cocktails

ABSOLUTLEY EXTORTIONATE PRICES FOR WHAT IT ACTUALLY IS

The ‘manager’ is so rude and argumentative. We tried ordering a drink in the ‘club bit’ but we had to go downstairs after 15 minutes to actually get a drink over females that were there. We then said to the man behind the bar we have been waiting ages upstairs so we went here to order a drink and the manager bounced up to us aggressively and said we hadn’t been waiting 15 but 5 minutes which was a lie. He was so aggressive and just on his phone which was really unprofessional.

Been coming here for years and have always enjoyed it, looks amazing since it’s been done up however I recently reported to a member of staff that someone in a large group was threw something at me when I walked passed (I also noted that some of them had clearly had enough to drink). One staff member said there’s nothing he can do and the second member literally said ‘what do you want me to do about it’. Both of them had a terrible attitude and clearly couldn’t be bothered with me. I told them how I would personally deal with that situation and, to be fair, he did go and do that. It’s not my job to tell staff how to deal with their customers appropriately? don’t really feel like coming back after that to be honest. Really unprofessional and disrespectful lad 👍

Website says they serve food till 9, told they have changed it to 7 and say "they haven't got around to changing it"

After hosting my NYE event at Roper I have to give a huge thanks to Greg and the team! Bar staff were brilliant, loads of beers/spirits available and always happy to go the extra mile to ensure the event went smoothly. 10/10 recommend Roper for events, food or sporting events.

Had a great experience here last Thursday for the quiz! We go every week for Ste J and had the guest host Rob this week. Great quiz, didn’t get close to winning but great environment overall !!

Enjoyed the night and the quiz masters humour kept us going, admittedly we could have done better 🤣 beer choice was good and at a much cheaper price than other places with a friendly bar staff. Same time next week?

Great place, went for the Ste J quiz but was pleasantly surprised to find that Nice guy Rob was hosting! Fantastic quiz, loved the 50 points cheeky question about Ste Js middle name. Rob should do more quizzes! Fantastic craft ales, thanks Ben for recommending!

Just did the quiz with some friends and we were beating the quizmasters mates team up until the last question, so he rigged it and asked for the ‘quizmasters middle-name’ for the last question, for 50 points, which only them in the building would know - being his friends. We’ve turned up for about a year doing the quiz buying drinks every single week when all along we couldn’t even win ??? Not only this, but winning the quiz means a £20 bar tab, which is what we were robbed of and what I’m assuming they all share together every week. Absolute joke will not be going back

Quiz is rigged, only the quiz masters friends team can win, and if they aren’t winning, the final question will be a question only his mates would know for a ludicrous amount of bonus points, being 1/8th of total score

Expensive pool table but it's a good place to drink

Embarrassing. Went here because our favourites stopped serving. Giving one star because i cant give a 0, please note this is strictly about the staff and the FOOD. We did not drink any alcohol today. 1) never EVER have i met a staff force this uninterested and lacking in service/ hospitality skills. All three of the staff on this evening 06/08/22 the bar guy, the server and the cook (the cook less so) had the personality of a rusty bucket and gave as good a conversation as a bucket would. Server just came an chucked cutlery etc on the table without saying a word. The food was horrific, now alothough it isnt a personality trait like some make out, we do eat vegan food. We ordered the bean burger with extra cheese and a side of mushrooms. (The extra cheese and mushrooms didnt show up until we got the unenthusiastic waiter to sort it) Overall aside the tinned microwave mushrooms the burger was actually okay. Then the desserts came.. We ordered the apple pie cookie thing (vile out the tin thing) and the sticky toffee pudding (this wasnt a sticky toffee pudding this was a microwaved madera cake with toffee sauce on it. We ordered these atrocities with VEGAN ice cream. Well the ice cream wasnt vegan ice cream, just icecream. We ate a bit before we realised and honestly didnt even complain because the staff just dont care at all. We just left our drinks and left. Whats concerning is, we were the only people in there eating at the time and the order was wrong twice? Maybe they dont care enough to pay any kind of attention to new custom but instead of yelling about the football, the cook should put on gloves, a hairnet and a beard net and pay god damn attention. If you have an open to see kitchen, ACT LIKE IT. If i was the owner I would be EMBARRASSED. This ruined our day and we both feel absolutely awful after eating that travesty. I suppose at the end of the day, its a bar first and a restaurant second and that abysmal food is the result of such cheap pricing. You do get what you pay for. To the owner, take a look at your staff force with concern. Genuinely. Food Critics or mystery shoppers would have a field day. Unfortunate.

Superb place. Good prices, super easy to get orders in, great food and the atmosphere is fantastic. Not to mention that the staff are lovely and the entertainment is always great too.

Honestly not a bad place at all, it's in a great location on a main street surrounded by food places and bars Just by the University of Lancashire. Food is decent from what I remember years ago but I may have to go again and refresh myself. Drink prices for cocktails sadly are very over priced, their cheaper at a specialised cocktail bar so I tend to avoid buying them there and just get beer or wine. Great outdoor smoking area, entertainment every week too. Plus upstairs is a pool hall which is a bit more quiet for too to play a few games of pool which you can pay for via card so no need for coins and ping pong tables, big tvs to watch games and just somewhere to chill. Definitely a recommended visit.

I went for food on premier League final day, it was busy and there were plenty of games on and loads of TVs so you didn't miss a thing. The food is ok, fries are little poor and definitely small portions, the beer isn't a bad price either. So bigger portions better review but I would go here again

Great service, excellent food. Pressure on the kitchen as you can see right in but Kirsten in there is always happy, and has been able to answer my awkward allergen questions when I bring my family. Highly recommend 👌

Nice interior, toilets decent BUT drink prices are too high. I won't drink in a pub in an average area of Preston where students dominate that charge £4+ for a lager.

Went to roper hall for the football the other day. Had some lovely food and great service from Kelvin!

Great place to go. Went last week and I had a great night, bar staff are really friendly and down to earth! James was one of the bartenders for the night and he was a legend.

Today I stumbled upon Roper Hall, I was greeted by a great scene of music and a charming atmosphere. Once at the bar I was served by an enthusiastic young lady, Keys. I had a great evening and I can only attribute the great service to Keys. Thank you I will be back

Food was absolutely amazing, the chicken wing Wednesday is absolutely worth it (30p per wing) I personally think the BBQ sauce is better than the peri peri, I'm not a spicy person. Ben and Jamie did a bang on job. Serving us and making us the food. Fully satisfied and not over priced. We will definitely come again.

Myself and 6 of my pals were looking for rooms to play Dungeons and Dragons in. On a whim we thought to ask to use Roper's Dark Room i had a good chat with Ian, the manager he was happy to let us use it, when we got there the Staff were very helpful the room was a big space, cosy. Kiera went above and beyond to help us and make us feel as comfortable as possible, i heartilly recommend Roper Hall

I won a free gin sharing board at Roper Hall. I went with my friend and it was really good! A nice and chilled environment with good music, sports on the TV and pool table. They also serve food - not too expensive either :) All round good experience!

Came in to try the new menu, it’s lovely! Chunky chips are great, nice to have a change from the skinny fries. Ben, Ian, Corky and K-Pen made an amazing atmosphere

Popped in today to relive my uni days and the new menu had just been rolled out, I ordered the Smashed Avo Crumpets and found them to be quite delicious! The staff are all lovely, especially Ian.... I think that was his name. Will be calling back again for sure.
