Comida texmex absolutamente fabulosa.

Had a lovely meal. Staff are very helpful and attentive. Even brought out a birthday treat for free as our cousin had mentioned it was his birthday meal out. Great with the kids and they even ate for free as both are under 8 years old. Food was tasty and atmosphere was great. Thank you very much. We were at the Jesmond Rio steakhouse.

An incredible find in the heart of Newcastle. A small cozy restaurant with an absolutely wonderful menu. Wine selection is simply top notch. The service is prompt and excellent. Arguably the best mid-tier(£) restaurant in Newcastle. And for those of you who know Cook house, expect nothing less from Long Friday.

Second visit and didn't disappoint. Sharing starter really generous and particularly liked the spicy cauliflower. Mains of chicken stir fry and Malaysian king prawns really tasty and good chilli heat without being overwhelming. Comfortable venue with excellent attentive staff. Would definitely recommend.

Brilliant service and food. I did struggle with noise levels when the service was in full swing so if you have noise sensitivity definitely ask for a table out of the way as we were sat closer to the kitchen. The broccoli small plate was unexpected, I had imagined tendersteam but a head of broccoli came out! Went on a Thursday evening

I'm changing my reviews from 5 to 1 star as the service was very humiliating! I went with my children in the morning for breakfast before her GCSE exam to calm her down but unfortunately totally the opposite happened. Order wasnt served and everyone order even people after us was served. I reminded her with my order she said i'll give it take away! Ok. I asked for disposable forks, she came throwing bunch of metal forks on my table! I went to say I need disposables she gave them to me very angry! I am the one who should be angry as we didn't get what we want! I was very sad and decided to go to speak to her after dropping children off to school. I told her that wasn't right and not accepted and we were very disappointed! The other girl came very rudely saying she got your point and now do you need a free drink! Is this the way to treat your mistakes! Not apologizing but giving free drinks! What a shame! We loved this place and was very convenient being next to school! But we have loads of other options now!

South Indian restaurants are quite rare in the UK, so we were delighted to find this one during our short stay in Newcastle upon Tyne. As expected, the welcome was warm and friendly, in true Indian style. The food in South Indian restaurants is completely different from that found in our traditional northern, or Bangladeshi, restaurants, and it is truly amazing. My wife and I both ordered a Dosa on my recommendation. These are thin crisp pancakes with a choice of different fillings inside. I chose the Dosa Masala and my wife had the Dosa Paneer. They were as delicious as I had hoped, and I will be certain to visit again on any future trip.

I've been regularly eating at this restaurant for some 40 years since I was a child. The original owners have now moved on and it seems the restaurant has now lost it's way which is incredibly sad. The prices have rocketed up which in some ways is understandable due to the current economic climate but what I object to is the quality of the food is now also far poorer that what it was. The Calamari starter was always a francesca signature dish for me and it what I was presentes with yesterday was a sorry state of affairs. Cheap frozen calamari rings you would expect from a low end pub chain and although the mains were OK the cost no longer offers good value as far as I'm concerned. Everything seems to be an issue for the staff now, we were a party of 4 work colleagues and wanted to just split the bill 4 ways, this was refused with staff saying they will only split it down the middle. Who cares!! Just split it 4 ways and move on keeping people happy for christ's sake. They also have a cheek having a sign asking customers to smile at the queue point when the bar staff look like they have just been to a funeral. It is sad as I've been a frequent visitor for most of my life but unfortunately I will no longer be coming back. Everything is about the money these days and in this case they have compromised the quality.

I googled the best italians in jesmond and to of the list was Florence. When we walked in there were two other tables eating, and felt very empty, not a great sign. We ordered the King Scallops to start, what turned up were Bay Scallops. The sauce they were served in was so salty it was inedible. I asked for them to be taken away. For main I shared a Bolgna pizza and Carbonara pasta with my daughter. When ordering I asked for a side of Jalepenos, to be told later they had none. The pizza was also very salty, and the carbonara had no sauce and overcooked pasta. Thanks, but no thanks!
