Went today for my Daughters wedding day . Food was Amazing . Staff first class . Chefs food is mind blowing. Detail on everything is on point. One of the best restaurants I have ate at . Will 100 per cent be returning..The prawn starter mouth watering . Steaks cut like butter. And selection of deserts unreal Thank you a big shout out try you wont be disappointed

Brilliant Sunday lunch. We all really enjoyed the food. The cauliflower cheese is a real highlight. I can also recommend the sticky toffee pudding! Staff were spot on too.

Very disappointed. The standard of the food and the prices are at odds with each other. I had the king prawns starter which sounded lovely but the prawns didn't taste particularly fresh. I had the ribeye steak for my main course - £38 PLUS £3.95 for a sauce and £5 for chips. For a total of almost £50 I was expecting something better than what looked and tasted like a supermarket steak. Lack of seasoning and it wasn't cooked properly. Yes, I could and probably should have complained but I was out celebrating with family and they all enjoyed their food. Perhaps I just chose badly but the prices here are way too high. Higher than many better places we have eaten in London.

We visited here on Saturday night for our anniversary and husband’s birthday. There were three of us. We were welcomed with a happy anniversary and guided over to the bar where we ordered our drinks. When our table was ready we were taken across and the staff member took our drinks and presented us with the menus, asking if anyone had any allergies. We ordered our starters and mains and ice cold water with lemon slices was put on the table along with warm crusty rolls with whipped butter and fennel salt - very tasty. Our starters included ham hock terrine with hens egg, oven baked garlic and rosemary Camembert and prawn and lobster cocktail with caviar - all of these were delicious and beautifully presented, good sized portions. We were then served with amuse bouche of arancini and mayonnaise which was delightful and a lovely surprise. For mains we had ribeye steak ( cooked perfectly as requested medium rare and very tender) with peppercorn sauce and truffle fries which were extra, but were delicious; roasted North Sea cod which was fresh, white and cooked perfectly with curried lentils, artichoke and potato puree, wild mushrooms and chicken cream which complemented the cod perfectly; fresh seafood linguine which included an excellent section of muscles, crayfish, salmon, king prawns and a garlic and parsley cream sauce - all were perfectly cooked including the pasta which was al dente and very, very tasty. Desserts included a strawberry cheesecake with white chocolate namelaka, strawberry sorbet and meringue and a pineapple and coconut rum baba with iced coconut parfait, white chocolate namelaka, pineapple salsa both were very tasty and good sized portions. Our son had a cocktail instead of a dessert and this was presented with a flourish. This was a wonderful night, the staff and management were second to none, the food was exceptional, presented beautifully, ample potion size, correct temperature, fresh and amazingly tasty, but it’s also the little things like the beautiful rolls and amuse bouche, the presentation of the cocktails, this place is not cheap but it feels very worth the money and we know from previous visits how consistently excellent Branches and their team are. Thank you for making our silver wedding anniversary and birthday so special, we will be back and we know we are assured of a warm welcome in beautiful surroundings and outstanding food by people who know how to deliver an exceptional evening.

Whilst no place is 100% perfect, I can't fault this establishment. From arrival to finish, it was spot on. They did their best to provide and managed to deliver 1st class service. I would recommend trying this place. With the kitchen closed, they did facilitate a last-minute dessert order with no fuss or issue. We definitely will be back.

From making the booking, to getting our table, the food and service everything was great. The food was good, can’t fault it. Absolutely loved it. So did the family. The service was fantastic. Staff were great, professional and friendly. Would go back again and again.

This is the 2nd visit to this fabulous restaurant. I am gluten free and they catered very well We were presented with bread (gluten free too) whipped butter and some green salt stuff which was absolutely amazing and free! Main course myself was cod with buttery green veg , it was the best piece of fish ever, my partner had trio of lamb which he said melted in his mouth In between courses we were presented with a beetroot dish , so nice too I had a cheese board with gluten free crackers and my partner had passion fruit gateaux both were amazing The staff are very attentive and customer service is A plus We will be returning for my birthday in October

Had Sunday lunch there today for my son's birthday couldn't fault the service our waitress Maria I think was very polite and attentive. All the staff we came into contact with were polite. The meals were amazing. We had a beef dinner chicken dinner and pork dinner spot on pudding was perfect strawberry cheesecake and a sticky toffee pudding with ice cream. We will definitely return Thank you

First impression of the rusty signs wasn't great. Then very welcoming host. Fishcake delicious; chorizo in scallops starter was overcooked. Amuse-bouche nice touch. Steak delicious. Fail on one of the grilled prawns. Dry ice sticky toffee was cool: Overall; decent

We came for Sunday Roast and everything was spectacular. Food, service, and ambiance all spot on! Would thoroughly recommend and return!

This restaurant is absolutely flawless in all areas. The food and drinks are delicious, they use high quality ingredients and cook everything perfectly. The variety of drinks is great, they have the best cocktails I have ever tried. The atmosphere is lovely... You can tell that they have an amazing team behind who love and understand what they do, which is clear from the moment they open the doors to you! Definitely the best restaurant in Newcastle.

We came for the Prix Fixe lunch menu for 2. The bread was very warm, fluffy and fresh, served with a creamy butter and flavourful tarragon salt. For starters, we ordered a fishcake, and a tomato and mozzarella salad. The fishcake was pretty good, soft and flaky, and I particularly enjoyed the charred green vegetable that came with it. The salad was probably my favourite dish, with fresh tomato slices, soft mozzarella, crunchy croutons, tangy balsamic glaze and a very nice pesto too. There was a lot going on, but it was immaculately presented and the components worked very well together. The intermediate course was mushroom arancini with truffle mayonnaise, and I thoroughly enjoyed the crunchy, bite sized dish with the discernible flavour of truffle. For mains we ordered a spring green risotto and sea bass. The risotto was nice, but had a very large portion and was very creamy and filling. I though the cheese crisp and veggies added a nice touch. The sea bass was also pretty good, with a creamy sauce and mussels. For dessert we ordered the sticky toffee pudding and passionfruit gateau. The pudding was simple yet tasty: warming and of high quality, with the crunchy toffee and ice cream adding a nice touch. The gateau was very unique with exotic fruity flavours, consisting of an outer chocolate layer encasing a white chocolate mouse as well as a jelly and crumble. It was the most unique course of the day. Overall, I was very impressed by the welcoming ambience, kind staff, and tasty dishes. For just under £30 pp, I felt like I got the full fine dining experience at a very reasonable price. Will be visiting again for the new menu!

Top quality food, excellent service. Well worth a visit

This was a spur of the moment visit. My mum and I were looking for somewhere nice to eat on a last evening in Newcastle. We hadn’t done any research prior to visiting Branches. We just looked at the menu outside. It was pretty quiet inside (it was a Wednesday evening), but the staff were very pleasant and the food was lovely. It was also a nice place to be. Good space between tables and a bright but subtle ambience. Thank you.

One of my favourite spoils. I love the attention to detail and never had a bad meal here. Service is always top notch. Would recommend.

Restaurant lovely , staff really professional and friendly . Food really tasty . My only issue from the last two visits is that the food isn’t quite hot enough . Unfortunately the Yorkshire puddings and cauliflower cheese sits on the hot plate from the start . For the price we were paying , it should be hot !!

It started off well starters and appetisers were good, service started off well. Then the main course £51 for fillet steak, £3 for a sauce and wait for it £5 for FROZEN CHIPS. when asked if meal was alright I told the server it wasn't the best as we had been given frozen chips, to which he said "I don't think they are". His face said otherwise, anyway for me this is where the problem started, the server didn't tell the chef nor did he offer to do anything about it, instead just shrugged it off as though he was working in a Toby carvery. Now I'm sorry but you don't go to an eltablishnebt like this to be served FROZEN CHIPS with a 50 day aged steak...... Anyway we continued with our meal and even got desert afterwards. The bill was not rectified and still got charged £10 for the 2 sides of FROZEN CHIPS. I paid the bill and left no tip as imo it was the servers problem for not addressing the situation, not my first time here but its deffinitly our last. Place had 1 other table and ourselves (says a lot) place has gone right down hill. Spoilt our anniversary it did. Try silk rooms instead because from now on that's who gets my buisness.

Absolutely superb from start to finish. We had the 3 course set lunch menu for £28 each. Mine was mussels to start (the portion was enough for a main course!) and my wife had the pate - both really excellent. For main I had the Sea Bass and my wife the Chicken. Full of flavour and really tasty. To finish I had the strawberry cheesecake and my wife the sticky toffee pudding - an excellent finish to a great meal. All in all a brilliant meal, generous portions and full of flavour. Highly recommended - 5 stars.

Saturday dinner with friends. There were nine of us and we had the function room upstairs. Food was superb, I had the mussels and the sea bass. Exceptional. There were also amuse bouche between courses and some great theatre! (See photos). Wine list was a little limited but we found something we liked in the end. Great service. Thanks. We’ll be back!

Absolutely fabulous lunch enjoyed with the family today at Branches. Every part of the experience was lovely and the staff were nothing less than exceptional in every way. We will definitely be back again it more than exceeded our expectations. Thank you so much to the whole team who made the day really special for us and especially my Godmother celebrating her 80th.

Exceptional!!! Was recommended this restaurant by friends and it did not disappoint. Our waitress, Maria was very attentive as were all the staff that interacted with us. There was a slight human error over our order, but this was quickly resolved to our satisfaction. The food was just amazing. Great flavours, beautifully presented. We sat under the blossom tree which is a stunning focal point of the restaurant. I would definitely recommend this establishment, especially for a special occasion.

Been to Branches a few times and always had a good meal on the pricey side but always raved about it, until this time both my Husband and I were very disappointed mostly with our starters my Husband had the Asparagus with Crispy Duck Egg he only got two pieces of asparagus and half an egg I had crispy belly pork which was two tiny pork balls not what I would call fine dinning the price for each was £12.50 felt ripped off the mains were ok but again not worth the cost don't think we will be returning. On a positive side the staff are still very nice.

Came here for our 20th wedding anniversary whilst visiting Newcastle and wow 🤩 the service and food was well worth every penny!!

This is our favorate restaurant in Jesmond it serves good food although the menu is limited and changes rarely The service is slow. Dietary needs are not catered for well.

A fabulous fine dining restaurant. The gourmet food is very well presented and absolutely delicious. The staff are friendly, welcoming, and very professional. From entering the establishment, you are greeted with curtesy they take your doesn't happen often enough in most restraunts. The decor inside is well designed with a feature blossom tree taking pride of place. I would highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be back

It was a fairly quiet night when I went in, but even so, it had a good vibe. It's quite bright but not overly so. The tree in the middle of the restaurant is quite impressive, although about a foot too low for all but one of the waiters. The service was very good, just appearing at the right times and calm and relaxed. All the food was very nicely cooked. The prawns for starters were on point and the in-between bits tasty. I will definitely be returning.

Couldn't fault the quality amd the of food, service, cocktails and staff. What a brilliantly-run establishment! They deserve the awards they have won so far and I'm sure there are more to come. We were here for a birthday celebration and it was made extra special by all of the above. Highly recommended.

Birthday weekend for the wife. So researched restaurants Dobson and pernal looked like the one to go to . Went for meal and day after went to Branches..me and the wife said Branches just piped Dobson pernal .. 👍🥇👍

This place deserves all 5 stars for everything! We wanted something special for our Anniversary and they certainly didn't disappoint. We were made to feel welcome as soon as we walked through the doors. They took our jackets, while we sat in the bar area for a drink. The mojito, was beautifully presented, with a little vanilla bubble, and coconut dry ice! We chose black pudding and belly pork, and beetroot and goats cheese for starters, these were amazing. Seafood linguine and chicken for main courses, again perfectly cooked, and very tasty. Desserts, sticky toffee pudding and the mango cheesecake were delicious. The restaurant was cosy, clean, and we requested a table under the "tree". The staff were lovely, attentive, pleasant and the little extras were rather special too. Thank you to all the Banches team for making a night to remember, highly recommended for a special meal out. Hope to see you again soon.

We had a family get together for a Sunday lunch recently and not for the first time. As usual the food was excellent and given how busy it was, the waiting staff and attention was good . The major problem came at the end of the meal, there was some confusion over the bill regarding a starter, when it was queried a head waiter/manager came over to intervene. He was particularly blunt and somewhat rude which took us by surprise. It was resolved however it embarrassed my family, myself and soured the day. We left feeling deflated and all questioned whether we would return again or not..

The best Sunday lunch we've had in ages! The service was fabulous. Friendly and attentive but not intrusive in any way. A beautiful restaurant with an upmarket but relaxed atmosphere. Then there's the food. Wow. My mussels were perfect but it's little things like putting sauce at the bottom of the prawn cocktail so you've got sauce to go with all the salad! I then had the beef and my other half had the trio of meats. The meat was beautiful quality and perfectly cooked and the vegetables were stunning. My only regret is that I didn't have room for more than sorbet for dessert! Although the sorbet was fantastic. 100% recommend for a stunning Sunday lunch. It's not cheap but not extortionate and worth every penny. Thanks Team Branches!

Tried for first time today with my mam for the tasting menu. Food was outstanding. Excellent value and service was amazing the lady who served us always had a smile on her face and looked after us really well with wine top ups. It's beautiful inside and I can highly recommend 👌 we have booked to try Sunday lunch next.

Had a lovely late lunch here, service was great, courses were in swift succession no waiting around, the food was perfect! Really enjoyed my artful dessert & although very delicious, I still suffered food envy when I could smell the aroma of sticky toffee pudding! A good excuse to go back!! We parked around the corner easily 2 hours no return, a short walk to Branches.

We had a lovely 3 course sunday lunch and everything from the food, the atmosphere & the service was PERFECT.. Lovely starters/main & desert. The 2 waitressess upstairs that served us were friendly, attentive & professional and made it a lovely day. A massive thank you to you all and we will highly reccomend you. 👍

Great restaurant in lovely surroundings great attentive staff great food all of which come at a price but if you can splash out on occasions this is the place to do it ,not sure what it would be like if it was full tables in quite close proximity but that's an unknown for us as it wasn't that busy, as it was on a Wednesday, iwill definitely visit again

Only called in for a drink, treated impeccably buy the staff. BEAUTIFUL INTERIOR.Tere is a massive Fake Apple tree, covered in white blossom, right in the centre of the two storey, gallery eating area. A "MUST VISIT" place if you are near by .External decor impressive too.Was very busy serving meals on our visit.

Fantastic Sunday Lunch like a Christmas lunch

Very good food. It has a Michelin feel to it, with the food decorated very nicely. As far as I am aware, it does not have a Michelin star. Service is very good. It is on the pricey side, but the food was great. As we went as a family, tried different dishes. I feel the best one was the ‘8 oz rib eye steak’. Very meaty and grilled taste. Well cooked. There was a in between dish which are rounded balls, tasted like croquettes, they were nice, but I can’t find the name. I think it was given as a special. Everything else were good but felt it was pricey. Recommended for special occasions. Don’t forget to wear smart

We felt rushed throughout the meal only to find out at the end that the manager wanted us to leave so that someone else, clearly more deserving than us (thank you Branches) could have our table. Our evening was ruined. We shall not be returning.

Walked past this restaurant many times on my trips to Newcastle, I should have visited before now. An exceptional dining experience from start to finish, a good bar and cocktail menu and served warm bread and Amuse-bouche as tasters. Well presented and flavoursome courses followed, all served by knowledgeable and professional staff. I will definitely be back, thank you for a great evening.
