Meat:Stack in Newcastle upon Tyne

Absolutely amazing food. We both got the all in meal deal and it was worth every penny. The parmesan truffle fries are to die for, the burgers are juicy and the chicken tenders are exactly that tender, if they had one in Hull where we live I would go at every opportunity.

New fries were ok, but not crispy and had no seasoning other than salt. Burger was unfortunately a bit sloppy and had too much cream cheese on the one I chose, which killed it a bit. Pattys were nice though and the brioche was good. Really good chicken tenders. Moist inside. Crispy outside just like they should be. Dips a bit pricey for what they are. Milkshake was this ok - maybe a bit over the top on the peanut butter. Overall, I would go back as Ive had good burgers from them previously. But perhaps I’ll stick to a more classic burger next time.

Only been here twice in the last 2.5 years (live 400 miles away) but both times the food has been top class, the staff are awesome too. Best breakfast we've had in the toon...

My favourite place for burgers in town, hard to beat this place. Good selection of food and drink. The burgers are always cooked perfectly and the shakes hit the spot. Be prepared for a wait for your food as it can get really busy and they don't rush making a good burger, but know it's worth it.

What is happening to the meat stack? This evening me and my fellow veterans witnessed overdone burgers, cucumber slices instead of pickled gherkins, limited gluten free beers, missing part of our order, and prioritising Uber delivery over in-house customers. Such a shame for such an expensive burger joint.

Hands down the best burger I have ever had. So juicy and flavoursome. I will definitely be back. The chicken tenders were amazing too. Had the beef dripping chips which were also fantastic. Really enjoyed my peanut butter shake also. My wife had a gluten free burger, and a lot of the time when she gets a gluten free burger with bun the bun is a let down, however she said hers was fantastic too. Thank you so much!!!!

Well what can I say about this hidden gem in the centre of Newcastle. Located in the Bigg market area of the city. Me and my boyfriend have heard and watched some great videos online about this place and it certainly did not disappoint!! Wonderful service and staff and the food was amazing, great quality. What makes this place great is the atmosphere and food would highly recommend. Thanks again meat stack you are great 😊

The burger and fries were absolutely delicious! The patty, in particular, was incredibly juicy and full of flavor. Highly recommend!

The burgers look closer to a Greggs butty than an American-style masterpiece that the pictures suggest. They were underwhelming, completely bland and small for the price paid. The buns were cold. Beef-dripping fries were flavourless and just greasy. The chicken tenders tasted fine, but also incredibly greasy. The batter didn’t stick to the chicken at all, it all just fell apart in a soggy mess. With regret, I wasted over £30 here. This is just another place that adds to the growing trend in the UK where people are willing to take (a lot of) your money, but aren’t willing to deliver any sort of value. Flashy branding but no substance. Avoid and bankrupt pls.

Food was ok, over priced. Poor service, the staff are grumpy and there was no atmosphere at all.

We wandered through Newcastle looking for something to satiate our hunger and thought hey let's go for a burger, unfortunately we were too early and only breakfast items were available, Chris at the from was super helpful in pointing our mildly hungover selves towards a culinary delight and also letting us know that we were better off getting the breakfast combo with hashbrowns rather than just a drink as it was the same price. It's the little things that make the difference

The Philly cheese tasted great and a close match to an original cheese steak for flavour. Lovely luxury Parmesan truffle fries Didn't have the drink I wanted but provided double in replacement. Overall well worth it and great service. Best burger I've had so far in Newcastle

Ideally I would like to review the food but its hard to remember the taste of what I ate. The only thing I can remember is painfully loud bass ( which also destroyed what could have been music). I requested the staff to turn the volume down as it was uncomfortable for my kids ( six big speakers in a small area !). They did turn it down only to turn it up again in a few minutes. Not sure what they gained by making their customers uncomfortable. Google would not allow me to score zero for atmosphere and service, sadly.

Used to go here a lot when it was above Bar 52, then the Dog and Parrot. Ordered earlier today via Uber Eats. The entire order was pretty much wrong. Sent fries instead of chicken tenders, put sauce in the burger that I had requested to be removed. Disappointing. The burger was also a bit undercooked and very gristly. Ended up binning it. There are now many better burger places in Newcastle.

Probably the best burger I have ever had without exaggeration. Definitely try the French Canadian!

Great burger with fries and a beer. Had one of the specials which came with a pot of char siu gravy which was delicious.

Confirmation of the fact that the burgers (we were previously at Meat:stack at “By the River Co”) are very tasty. The juiciest of the entire holiday, according to my son. The Parmesan truffle fries were also very nice and my London Black too.

Searched for the halal burgers on google and they came on no 1, placed order just to know on receiving that its not Halal. Wasted my 10 pounds. Pls if you’re not halal dont run google ads you were sponsored and on no 1. And we are now not able to eat it for obvious reasons

Once, I regarded this my go to burger place, particularly for lunch. That was when it was in Grainger Market. It was small, burgers were cooked with passion. It seems they have lost some of that. Don't get me wrong, the burgers and fries are still good, but just not what they were. Prices have gone up and it feels less the revolution it once was. Would still recommend for a quick lunch, but tastier burgers are to be had elsewhere.

Ordered a takeaway to be delivered,quarter pounder with beef dripping fries and an extra portion of parmesan and truffle fries. Now I have to say I only leave feedback that is true, I'm the very first to leave positive feedback when it's justified and likewise feedback when my interaction has been negative. However, the purpose of feedback so others can make an informed decision when it comes to ordering food from this establishment. Haters will always hate. The burger was tasty but very small so be warned when it arrives not to expect what you'd expect for the price (a double whopper burger from Burger King is far bigger and just as good) Now beef dripping fries? hmmm not entirely sure they have been near any beef infused dripping at all, just tated like skin on oven fries and same goes for the parmesan and truffle fries that were over a fiver! in my opinion were like, again, skin on oven fries splashed with truffle oil and sprinkled with hard cheese. The top and bottom of it all is this, cheapest isn't always the best However, when you decide to splash out on a fancy burger joint and pay good money you have expectations that are, quite rightly high. So if you haven't ordered from this place before as I hadn't, don't expect the best quality nor large portions. Get yourself a Burger King and have better portions sizes and just as good quality for around half the price. Meat stack, from my experience does not represent good value for money. Warm regards.

Saw this place on google and said it had really good food so I had to see if those reviews were true. I got the West Coast Classic with chips and a drink. The burger was pretty good overall. My only complain with the burger is that they could've seasoned the patties a bit more and added a little bit less sauce because i could only taste the sause. The chips were ok. Without the salt I added on, they didn't taste of anything other than potatoes. They were crunchy though which was good. They have good music playing and it's not that loud in there. Overall, I do recommend this place to people who want to try something different.

Great quality fast food that satisfied whilst we were staying in Newcastle, doing a tour of Northern England & visiting from Canada. We found that the service was courteous, fairly good prep speed, and I must say the beef-dripping cooked chips were so good with the spicy burger. The staff at the hotel we stayed at highly recommended them - they weren't wrong!!

A bit disappointing, the chicken burger I ordered was all cold and when I asked if it's supposed to be like that I was told that it's the salad... Well no, it's not the salad as my gf burger was all nice and warm including the bun.. And my burger tasted like an old shoe. No kidding. Definitely been sitting there waiting for a while. Shame as the reviews seem good. Same re the truffle chips, arrived cold and chewy. Not coming back. One star extra for my gfs burger which was good, mine was bad.

The burgers and shakes my partner and myself had where lovely but the service from the girl when we walked in was disgusting. No warm welcome or a hello felt like walking back out to be honest. Sort the attitude out and would of been 5 stars

The chicken was very nice. The burgers weren't worth the 30min+ wait. There were a lot of people sitting around waiting for their food that were there well before us. For a fast food style restaurant, the wait was ridiculous. If you have a lot of time to spare then yeah go for it but if you walk past and see a queue then you're already too late

One of the best burguers I've ever eaten. I ordered a combo; which included any cheeseburguer, chips, 2 chicken tenders and a chocolate milkshake. Everything was delicious. The staff was very kind too. However, the food was a little bit expensive. The combo costs 19,95 pounds.

This burger shop is an absolute gem! The burgers are unmatched, packed with unique flavors that you won't find anywhere else. I'm glad that I could experience them burgers as a Human being in the 21st century!

Honestly disappointing after the hype, the burger was okay and they had tango in the drinks machine but chips were cold and tasted off, chicken was soggy and the sauces all tasted of bacon grease, won’t be coming back especially after what I paid for it.

Meat:Stack is a great spot, dependable and consistent. Not cheap but with some solid deals and you pay for quality. Inside is simple but clean and friendly, plus they serve Wylam beer!

Extremely tasty and juicy burgers with great tasting fries and good variety of drinks on offer. Came back here shorty after our first visit as it was so good the first time. Service is also fast and overall the price is reasonable as well. Do not skip this place if you are looking for a tasty burger! The outdoor area is also great in nice weather.

Recently, I was told this place is dog friendly and went with my friends and our dogs earlier this year. I've been back 3 or 4 times now, mainly for the biscoff Milkshakes... wow, just beautiful ❤️

Damn, what can I say? The burgers are damn near perfect, it's quiet, the service is fast and the staff are friendly. I'm sad I don't live in Newcastle so I can't try more of the menu. Succulent, juicy patties, perfectly seasoned, well thought out combinations of ingredients that let the beef shine. Perfectly crisp fries and honestly really good beer on tap! Some reviews complain about the price, but if you want a top tier burger, you get what you pay for. Go here!

A friend of mine recommended this place so gave it a go. Texas BBQ burger with 2chicken tenders, loaded fries& choc milkshake Everything about this was amazing, especially the milkshake & chicken tenders, the batter was so light that it pretty much melted in ma mouth, the milk shake actually tasted like a proper choc milkshake, not to think but full of flavour. If u like ya burgers defo give this place a try

Atmosphere was great, but the food let it down slightly. The burger patty itself was incredibly underwhelming and bland, as it was the other elements inside the bun that made it good. The presentation was nice, and the service was pretty fast considering how busy it was, but the beef itself and the bland fries let it down. Maybe it was just a bad day as this place usually comes with rave reviews.

Unbelievable chicken! Having been meaning to try this place for a long time I was really excited for one of the burgers. But the fried chicken tenders I had stole the show. Super crispy coating and perfect juicy chicken. The burger was damn good too though! I had the Char Sui special. Really nice flavours. Definitely recommend for burgers and chicken! I'm sure I'll be back in the future.

This is my favourite restaurant, I'm gluten free and their food can be made gluten free. It's always safe and the team take extra care, I never have pain after eating here and I'm a huge fan of the food!

Had a few burgers from here and they've been good so far, which is why I'm giving 2 stars, but today I ordered via ubereats and didn't realise till I was halfway through the burger that one of the patties was completely uncooked on the inside.. Fries, chicken select and dips were nice but burger let it down massively.. hopefully no food poisoning will follow

A proper burger place is hard to come by these days with so many to choose from but meat stack certainly delivers! Classic staples done amazingly well whilst their more flamboyant burgers hit the spot each time! Whenever I’m in the mood for a burger, these guys are top of my list.

Ordered off Uber eats, was so disappointed when this came. Burgers were “ok” not amazing but not awful… can go elsewhere for much nicer burgers especially for the price charged. Paid for house seasoned fries which were literally just salt and vinegar tasting soggy fries (would be cheaper and better quality to go to your local chippy)! Oh and not to forget, they didn’t send us the sauces we paid for so the entire meal was pretty bland. Wouldn’t recommend at all and definitely won’t be going back here, massively overhyped and a waste of money.

Looks pretty but you dont eat the atmosphere inside do you? Tiny burgers with no speciality at all but had to try it cause i live in here and see it in the one of the most busy street thinking would be good. Nope came hungry, left hungry. And supposedly an american style yes? No ice tea though??? Also expensive as hell fam. As it doesnt deserve it makes it even worse. Not recommended and never will come again.

Ordered a triple Asian burger didn't look like what was advertised very boring taste. Soggy shreds of lettuce not much of it..no idea what the Asian slaw was about couldn't see any. Beef dripping fries were cold they brought me more. Cost £23 with a beer. Very expensive and had much better burgers. Certainly won't be rushing back unfortunately.

The burger and chicken tenders were absolutely amazing. All the food tastes fresh and is excellent value. Even the biscoff milkshake was incredible. All the staff were friendly and very attentive. Genuinely exceeded my expectations. Highly recommend and big thank you to the staff.

Superb burgers served efficiently in an easygoing low-key space. Have been multiple times now and for me, clearly superior to Five Guys or Smashburger. While I don't have exhaustive UK burger experience feel like I'd need to travel Shake Shack in London for a true competitor. Maybe even as far as Culvers in Wisconsin or Whataburger in Texas 😀 🛫 Only change would be adding red wine to the menu. Look forward to returning soon.

Love a good burger and spotted the reviews for Meat:Stack so was very excited to try it. Food was great but service didn't stand out in any way. Was gutted they don't do onion rings as a side too!

It's been a long time since I've been to Newcastle nearly 2.5yrs. And much has been vacated in terms of bars and pubs. However I was told to try Meat Stack. After a brief wander I found it although it seemed quiet, service was friendly but with its menu and offers I opted to try the all in consisting of double cheeseburger, 2 chicken tenders , fries, 2 dips and a soft drink or beer. It was her ei spotted a missed favourite PBR past blue ribbon beer beloved of so many including Macklemore but more for my time in Milwaukee working. It did not take too long for the meal. It was impressive fries were crisp and the ranch dip superb. What I did not expect were the chicken tenders I say OMG, the coating was insane and dipped in ranch just stunning chicken as moist as can be. I savoured every morsel and I mean every morsel. The cheeseburger was next and right up there with many moist and flavourful patties. However such was the impression of the chicken whilst speaking to one of the staff he recommended the garlic tenders. Another PBR beer as well. Well despite a dip been offered the chicken tender drenched in a good way. The garlic butter was somehow a sweeter tang to it was informed they add maple syrup as well. Just brill, if it wasn't for the fact I was as happy a sa oig in the proverbial mire, ii would stay and try more. Its that good, some if not the best chicken tenders ever. Seriously if its a burger or chicken tenders this is the place, cheers

Lovey Burger and fries with peanut butter milkshake

I went here after seeing it on rate my takeaway, I had a peanut butter milk shake this was amazing , the chips were nice but far too salty for my liking, I also had a chicken burger I personally found the batter round the chicken to be very greasy but this could be because I don't often have deep fried chicken, the food was OK but personally I would love to see a grilled chicken option on the menu as the chicken itself tasted nice

Great customer service. Lovely tasty burgers but the fries were not nice today. They were square crisps with nothing inside them. Total let down. Made everything taste too fried. Used the bathroom. Loose seat. Didn't feel like a nice place to go tbh. Unisex loos which I don't like as men tend to be a bit scruffy. I prefer separate loos. Just my preference. Could see they had a nice kids changing room as well

In my opinion the best burgers in Newcastle (and I have tried several). This is our go to place! Their menu is simple without millions of choices but all are great. Their specials are worth a try and often make it into their menu for a while. The beef burgers themselves always taste of good quality meat. The beef dripping fries are awesome! Would highly recommend either the restaurant or a takeaway from these guys.
