Great Butchers, Fishmongers and Fruit and veg stalls with a wide range of cafes and various other sellers of many many things.

Great market - very full: very few empty stalls compared to other cities, and there's something for everyone. From tasting local craft beers, to trying on vintage clothing, to cheesemongers and grocers. A really enjoyable visit and a nice way to spent an hour or so. Downside that the toilets were out of order.

The Grainger Market's got its buzz back ! Fab little eateries & great for browsing well worth a visit 😀

What a fabulous place - the fish stalls were particularly impressive and a great array of ready to eat food! Visit and support!

Here you will find anything and everything. A large part of the market consists of eateries. If you are looking for comics, jewelry or handmade trinkets, there is a stand for that.

Lovely staff at the butchers. Great selection of meat.

Nice place to visit if you are in Newcastle, don't expect too many food places as there are a lot of other places too, but they are worth a look too!

Newcastle institution and full of great value food, clothing and services. Use it or lose it.

I love it. You can get a cheaper groceries here such as garlic, onion, etc.

Excellent market for fresh fruit, veg, fish and meat. Nice food stalls too. We took Greek spinach pies ( spanakopita) home for tea and they were delicious. Now that we have an excellent train service from Newsham to Newcastle we will definitely be going more often

A must visit if you're in Newcastle and are hungry.

Fabulous covered market in the centre of Newcastle. Lots of fruit and veg stalls. Famous cheese shop. couple of plant stall, bakers etc Lots of small independent food units from greek food to fresh fish. Part of it is being given a makeover so there will be a bigger area for performances, events and a bigger seating area for people to share their food. At the moment the shops do start to pack up early around the 4pm mark hopefully they will stay open a bit later in future.

A great place for trying food from all over the world at a reasonable price. I had a lovely sri lankan curry 😋 I'll be back!

I had a really lovely experience at this market. The food from various places was delicious. I highly recommend the Dumplings and the Frozen yoghurt place 😋

Very clean and nice market. We get everything from there like all in under one umbrella.

Vert interesting environment. Some work still being done but a varied sekection of stalls. I think Saturday will be the best day. Olivers cafe, excellent and very helpful with a good variety of dishes. I certainly recommend a visit.

Be careful while purchasing fruits... sometimes it will be a good deal but sometimes the fruit quality is not. Vegetables are really cheaper than All other supermarkets.

Great selection of shops and eateries. All the different varieties of cuisine and types of food make this a great place to go for lunch. Good places to pick up fresh ingredients too - Hector Hall for fruit and veg is first rate.

During the week I was in Newcastle I went every day. I don't know what I had, but I loved it.

Open for business at normal hours, New stores opening regularly, many old favourites still trading.

Great place to visit in the city centre, good selection of food outlets which include Asian street food, Greek Gyros, fried chicken and fresh fish! There's also a nice selection of cafes and Geordie bangers selling the best sausage rolls in town. You can buy clothing, household items and Reflex the music store. The Black Garter is situated on the outside which is always handy for a cheeky pint while the missus is off shopping in the market. The Grainger Market is a historic building with over a hundred shops and stalls.

A wonderful indoor market with wide range of stalls. Meat, fish and veg. specialists were particularly impressive with superb quality, range and pricing. Many food outlets as well, offering wide range of food and drinks.

First time visiting. It's great! Tried Greek food for the first time as well. Lovely people and fabulous food

Grainger Market. This is a market located in the center of Newcastle. It sells ingredients, food, clothing, etc. There is also a restaurant, so it's a good place to grab a quick meal. The iconic Grainger Market. A great range of vendors, fantastic atmosphere and bargains galore. ...and if you're in Newcastle and you're hungry, look no further because there's a place to eat for all tastes and budgets.

Wonderful market! Lovely to wander around and look at all the different stalls. Something for everyone! Highly recommend Snackwallah for tasty Indian food! Pumphrey’s coffee for a really good hot drink and Firebrick brewery for some local beer to take away.

Large market on the edge of the town centre. Large variety of stalls and plenty of food & drink to-go. Large part of the market being redeveloped but all the stalls are still open.

A big market for almost all-purpose groceries and household items. I loved the theme shops of animie, candles and scents. There is also alot of cusine from different parts of world and desi street foods like tea, loempias, golgappa, soups, koffie, drinks etc.

Has changed quite a lot, new roof upgrading all the shopping areas, too many food outlets.

It's a dump a dump nothing there all stalls are closed down u can get your fruit and veg in supermarkets lot cheaper aswell this place needs a upgrade a good kick up backside the butchers in there not hygiene they don't wear mask or rubber gloves on there hands ! I don't recommend u get your veg fruit meat in there the people in there don't wash there hands the people work in there are dirty people they need closed this down its a run down dump l feel sorry for the pet shop in there Robinson that's only good store in there rest off the things in there needs closed down the place needs a good clean aswell and it's not safe because people don't wear face mask coverings avoid this place if u can' its a run down dirty dump toilets are dirty in there the toilet had poo all over the toilet avoid this place l rather go somewhere else for a toilet this place is a dump a dump ! Still run down dump needs a good clean out market stalls needs drop prices !

Traditional market, absolutely brilliant found the great little bar, loads of fresh meats and veggie stalls clothing cakes coffees etc, haven't been to a market like this in many years, what a great place. People need to visit to keep it relevant

Love this place they sell everything you need my favourite place is the fishmonger stalls and the butchers.

Great place, you can have different street foods here. I had a Sri Lankan food and tasty.. Thanks Uri Dinithi restaurant.

Wonderful place to hang out, eat food, drink coffee and buy fantastic fresh produce at much lower prices than supermarkets.

This place has got some really good stalls, when the upgrade is finished it’s going to look so nice, the butchers and the bakers near the cafes are amazing top class meat, loads better than what you get in a supermarket, the cheese shop has a vast range not just the normal everyday ones, there’s also a variety of world foods that always smell amazing when you walk in, overall it’s got everything under one roof.

I have always loved the old fashioned unique Victorian shopping centre, still offering individual shops with individual style, real people serving you that will have a laugh a chat, not like multi national shops on the high street.

At the moment there is a lot of building work so, it's not running clear but, it is a fab place for eating out and buying grocery, meat and some great selling stalls. Once the work is finished it will be a 5* review

Good place for vegetables. Lots of small shops doing different businesses. You can get fish, clothes and even some electrical goods. The place gets messy when it's rainy outside. Usually crowded on Saturdays. The market is closed for most Sundays, so it's better to check.

Azing place for meats, cafes and fresh fruit, found an amazing little bar

A mixture of stalls from fish to veg. There's a barber there, bakery, and a cheese stall. It's being refurbished in some areas.

Old victorian market. Sadly not what it was of a eating experience rather than the bargain shopping bonanza of old. Still beats the supermarket.

Great variety of fruit range from grapes apples pineapples to exotic fruits. Prices are unbeatable. I especially think that for any jam makers out there, this is your shop as berry punnets(strawberries etc) go for extraordinary cheap multi buy prices. Great place for students.

Lovely Old-school Market in the Centre of the City. A plethora of different shops, eateries and places to get things like clothes altered. Open Monday to Saturday plus Sundays in December. Easy to access. Ground-floor Level access for visitors with mobility issues.

Great for fruit and veg. It is a part of Newcastle . Some great stalls, but loads of empty places. Oh fantastic wet fish shop and butchers though!

A must visit when in Newcastle. We ate pies at (Olives?), it was pretty cold at the seating area but the food were autentic. Will visit again

Grainger market is my favourite place to go shopping in Newcastle. It has great food options and other small stalls. I recommend paying with cash, because it helps the small businesses and also the economy.

5 years ago we got pickled cockles abd visited again. Still amazing.

A market filled with nostalgia of grocers and butchers yelling their wears, I used to save up my pocket money to vidit the card shop for yugioh packs and we would congregate in the back corner to play on the tile. Truly a building that has its own life.

Great little historical local market. Presently, the market is going through some refurbishment, which takes the edge off how such a nice place is to visit. I'm sure once all the work is completed, it will look good.

So much variety, fresh fruit and vegetables, proper fish mongers especially the spider crab legs, and for quick breakfast 3 or 4 cafes to choose from.

The cheese and fish stalls have been my favourites for years. Now, the bakers have been added. Quiche and fruit pies are tasty, and I end up getting requests for their tripe for a couple of friends. One butcher for the ham shanks for another friend, then finish at the fruiters. If I'm not at work, it may be a swift pint in the Garter
