Would really recommend this experience if you are a meat lover! Food was incredible, service was so quick and friendly. We were made to feel really welcomed, and encouraged to try everything. Would 100% return!

All the staff are amazingly friendly and efficient. Remembered our meat preferences and couldn't do enough to make sure we were happy. The food is amazing and plentiful. Even tried a few dishes I'd never had before. They salad bar was nice fresh and vibrant and the seaweed salad is something I would return for You will not be disappointed.

I had a lovely evening at this steakhouse! The meat selection was top-notch, and I especially enjoyed the cheese breads and the crispy French fries. Service was spot-on, really friendly and attentive throughout our meal. The only downside was that the table we were at was a bit dark, so a better spot with a view would make it perfect. Overall, a really enjoyable meal that I can't wait to repeat!

Waited 30mins for meat to come round and mostly it was rib eye did get fillet once but chewy I waited 8 months to go it.was a xmas present i won't be back

This was my first visit for me and my son and the whole experience was amazing from start to finish the food was absolutely delicious the staff were so welcoming they had great understanding of allergies and showed me the foods which contained the things I was allergic to. I was there celebrating my son's 21st birthday although a bit late because I had been in hospital I wanted to make it up to my son and celebrate with him and it certainly didn't disappoint my son was grinning like a Cheshire cat from start to finish we were left feeling full and satisfied the staff were all amazing and looked after us very well me and my son has found our new favourite place to go now thank you so much for this experience it certainly didn't disappoint

Yesterday was my son's birthday, and we decided to celebrate it at this wonderful restaurant. The experience turned out to be even better than we expected. One of the highlights was the surprise birthday ice cream that the restaurant provided, which truly delighted my son and made his day extra special. The food was absolutely delicious. Every dish we ordered was prepared with great care, and the flavors were spot on. From the appetizers to the main course and desserts, everything exceeded our expectations. The presentation was also impressive, making the meal even more enjoyable. The service was exceptional. The staff were attentive, friendly, and made us feel very welcome throughout the entire evening. They paid close attention to every detail and ensured that we had everything we needed, which added to the overall pleasant experience. Thanks to the excellent food and warm hospitality, we had a fantastic time celebrating my son’s birthday. We will definitely be returning in the future and highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience.

Cannot be beaten! Best restaurant experience in the north east if not the country. Love coming here - the whole experience from the location, the service and staff, the value for money and especially the FOOD IS FANTASTIC. The only thing to be careful of is to know when to stop! For any carnivore this is the ultimate meat feast! I’ve been to other similar restaurants in London etc- RIO outstrips them all!

The venue is located on the first floor, boasts lovely decor, and has very attentive staff. The food was flavorful and offered a wide variety of choices. The Quayside views were delightful. It was a very pleasant and enjoyable experience.

The best birthday dinner I have ever had! All of the staff were absolutely incredible, and the food.. there are no words for how good it all was, especially the garlic steak and beef ribs! Absolutely fantastic - good was brilliant, staff were excellent

I truly can't go into much detail... It was exceptional. You'd almost think that because it's an all you can eat steak restaurant that the meat would be 'average' at best... You'd be dead wrong. Every damn piece of meat they brought to the table was exceptional in cooking. Perfectly tender, juicy and fantastic flavour. If you love your meat, then you'll love this place, I can't put it any simpler. Personal favourites: Minted Lamb and Beef Skirt If you haven't tried, you need to. Definitely, 100% coming again.

Quite possibly the worst restaurant experience I've had in my life. Went with my fiancé. Wasn't busy. We were seated right next to two incredibly loud men. Politely asked if we could be seated elsewhere (at least two identical tables behind us were free). Response was no they were too busy. A short while later a couple with an incredibly loud and whingy child arrived and I clearly heard them ask if they could move to another table other than the one they were assigned. Manager said of course and sat them right next to us. Was still hungry but just paid and left. Never again. Disgraceful.

Had a fantastic lunch today - the most stand out part was the service, friendly, personal service from all staff members. The Salad bar was good but I've had better variety at other places, but everything I ate was yummy. The meat was delicious and there was more than enough of it! Thank you for a lovely lunch.

I was intending to go to the ground floor restaurant for lunch but they were closed, I didn't even realise there were two restaurants at the same location, so I headed upstairs and I'm so glad I did. What I got was a novel and tasty food experience! The salad bar has a wide variety of vegetables, cheeses, garnishes, deli meats, breads and seafood, and it's help yourself. I really enjoyed taking a little bit of everything to try it all, there was nothing that I didn't like, and quite a few things I'd never seen before. But the best was yet to come. A chef makes his way around all the diners with some fresh cooked meat, if you like the sound of what he's currently holding then he will carve you off a chunk. I got to try a solid serving of so many different things. Spicy chicken wings, two different cuts of steak, spicy sausage, BBQ chicken, extremely tender lamb, gammon and pineapple. All of it was cooked beautifully, all of it was distinct from each other, and all of it was well worth trying. The wait staff were lovely, I was well looked after but not pestered. They poured pints well! The cost was much lower than I was expecting. Considering how much I ate and drank I was shocked that such variety, choice and service was so cheap. I'll not only be recommending this place to anyone that'll listen, I'll also be back myself as soon as I can, preferably for dinner this time as I'm pretty sure they do an even bigger variety of meats during the dinner service. Thanks from an Irish lad who had no idea what he'd walked into, but he's glad he did.

After 3 years it has finally become a left done because of the lack in service and lack of steak they want to offer you. You used to get steak after steak services to you but know they want to give you cheaper meats like chicken, turkey and pork instead. Disappointed after our last visit here. At one point I want over 10 minutes to even be offered any red meat.

Went there for birthday. Beautiful food, very attentive and pleasant service, delicious stakes and wine, could not get enough.

Good atmosphere. Food was poor quality and very expensive. We don't mind going out for meals as a family and don't mind spending the money for a family evening but this was overpriced and poor quality imo. You can find much better places that have just as good an atmosphere but with much better quality food and not as expensive. The waiter at the end also laughed when I asked him why a £15 service charge was added for 3 people? We won't be going back. Newcastle has much much better places to dine and enjoy as a family.

Iwent to this restaurant 2 weeks ago , by myself. Overall, the food was worth every penny. The staff went above and beyondand the service was very friendly. The decor was fantastic and the location is central to the city and easy to find. I cannot Recommend this enough. Thank you

All staff were very friendly and welcoming The food is absolutely beautiful! The meat is cooked to your request and it’s so tasty. There’s a great selection at the salad bar which do the best coleslaw. The drinks are high standard and taste great Only downfall was the atmosphere, there was a family next to us who had children who were on tablets at full volume and the staff didn’t seem to notice, it was just very off putting for me and my husband. Overall a great place to eat but very pricey

Arrived and were seated but no one came for drinks order. 15 mins later a waitress took drinks order and explained what we had to do. Went got salad came back and the guys with the meet were queuing to give us meat which ended up like a pile of nothing on plate. 2hr and 35 min into our visit the girl from front desk came and said not hurrying but the next people are here can you finish your wine in reception, this was 7.35 and we should have had until 8. Won't go back we all felt like cattle being hearded.

Lovely venue on the first floor. Decor is great. There is a buffet for salads and sides. Great salads, farofa was great so were the beans. The keeps coming, formula 1 style, they bring it to your table, brazilian rodizio. Staff is great! Eill be back for more. I still think poncha fro Madeira would be a good addition to the menu.

I love churrasco. I've had good experiences and bad. This experience was amazing. I mentioned I've not had Chicken Hearts in years and the staff brought me as many as I could physically eat. Every single skewer brought to our table was exceptional. Don't be put off by the price... It's worth every penny!

Visited for my birthday last weekend and the staff were so welcoming and even gave me a little card to say happy birthday! Food was great and service was quick and friendly with a wide range of food on offer and delicious cocktails. After absolutely stuffing my face, staff then brought out a little dessert gesture from the company to again wish me happy birthday - more than generous!

The food is lovely as always.we went out as a celebration.But for upping the price to 45 and adding a service charge the service was a big let down.I went to the jesmond rio a year ago and it was 5 star,perfect.But this time round it the service was slow it took a good half an hour to get a drink I had ordered and the food took just aslong. I held this restaurant to a high standard but tonight was a very big let down.

Very disappointed with our visit last night. We have visited before and it was amazing. We were a large group of 14, the staff were lovely and friendly. However, we were not offered sauces to go with our steaks, on arrival like other tables were. Our table seemed to be missed a lot with the meats, which meant we were sitting for 15 minutes with no food, coming to the table. This happened a number of times, despite the cards being on green. The drinks took the same time if not longer. The selection of meats was poor, a lot of the meats on the menu, did not come out. The steaks were very bloody, and all cooked the same. There were 4 of us who do not like bloody steaks, more medium to well done and there was no other option. so there was not a lot of selection as the other meats like pork, chicken and gammon only made a brief appearance, with only one of each coming to our table. On our previous visit the selection of meats had been amazing. Over all very disappointed for the amount of money we spent.

First time at RIO and certainly won’t be the last. Excellent service from all staff. Food amazing and great selection of drinks. Highly recommend.

Wasn't expecting the salad bar to be emptied and cleaned as we were eating at 20.45. Had to ask for the bar service as it was closed at 21.05 . What was a great night and not cheap at £137.20 without their service charge and it was spoilt by staff hoovering around at 21.15 to clear your table when it closes after last service which is 10pm . Will not be going back or to the sister company tomahawk. Disappointed hardly describes it .

I was not impressed especially how much it cost. The place was extremely hot and noisy, you could hardly hear your waitress or server. The salad bar was good with lots of variety however the meat range was a different story, the different steaks all tasted the same and although we were asked about how we liked our meat cooked most of it was raw which I didn't mind but not what we requested. Meat came regularly but you did get a bit bored of the same taste. Best bits was the sausages, goats cheese with truffle and when requested the chicken hearts. As drinks and deserts were not included in the price I do not think it was worth the money for the quality of meat and the amount we felt like eating. Will not repeat the experience.

Unfortunately, that was a poor decision. The evening started off well with our waitress being lovely and welcoming. We listened to her instructions and then got our salad plates. Then, the meat started coming out and everything was going well. We had tried a selection of the meats at this point, and our flags were still on green as we were happy to continue eating. On this occasion the chef came out and we accepted the food, only this time he lingered at the table and told us that we should turn our flags to red and slow down. We were a bit confused as our plates were not full and we had only been eating barely 10 minutes. I initially thought he was joking and responded with ‘don’t worry we can handle it’ with a laugh, but he just looked me dead in the eyes and walked off. We laughed off the awkwardness so a not to sour the mood, but we found that the following times he came to our table, the serving sizes he offered were substantially smaller. At this point, we realised that his comment may have ran a bit deeper, and perhaps had a note of malice behind them. We started feeling quite uncomfortable, and I had to stop eating as I was becoming triggered by his actions. Due to past trauma, I have a difficult relationship with food, however this has improved vastly and I now enjoy going out to eat often. This experience has set me back and now I am so hesitant to go out and dine again for fear of being food shamed and judged for purely enjoying the food I am being served. The environment that was created was not welcoming, and the staff felt it acceptable to offer unsolicited advice to the amount we were eating, inadvertently calling us fat to our face. I do not understand why he felt comfortable enough to make comments like these to two young women who were strangers to him. Especially considering that he did not comment on another table of men who were eating way more than us. We politely brought this up to the manager, wanting to provide feedback to ensure that this does not happen to anyone else in the future. We did not want to single the staff member out, as requested by the manager, we purely wanted to provide this feedback for all staff members and go on enjoying our meal. We arrived at 2:30 p.m. without a reservation, with the three girls and the staff was especially attentive and made sure we didn't miss anything. The food and concept is the same as at Jesmond, but the attention of the staff was exceptional. We will be back!!!

Food was absolutely beautiful, the salad bar is a real treat, the garlic mushrooms I highly recommend, and the steak was delicious, lovely thin cuts of meat which I prefer. we went at 3pm so was nice and quiet and the view is beautiful of the river, the service was outstanding and very fast no waiting, both myself and my partner made real pigs of ourselves and had to lay on the sun loungers outside for an hour on the quayside to recover lol I highly recommend and will definitely be back!

Just Damn.. If you don't have a favourite restaurant in Newcastle, then give this one a go. Service is unlike anywhere I've been before. Fast service and you are waited on hand and foot. Wines were nice and the salad bar is 2nd to none. The medium brisket and sirloin steak was amazing. Bursting with umami. They take the skewers of meat and put them on some rotary grill. Basting the lamb In mint sauce. Divine. Will be going again. Was around £35/head (I think)

Will only go back on a Saturday.. only been twice, first experience was wow! Absolutely fabulous. However this afternoon experience wasn't as pleasurable. Waited so long for meat to come around and found it tough and fatty.. gammon came with no pineapple. I have to say we were very disappointed after our first visit. We will go back, definitely on a busy Saturday.

One word: Phenomenal! This dining experience was an unexpected delight, springing upon me just an hour before our visit. A quick scan of their website had me a bit apprehensive—I’m a well-done steak aficionado, not a fan of meat that’s still mooing. However, my worries were soon laid to rest. The staff? Absolutely top-notch—attentive, professional, and bursting with positivity. When asked about my steak preference, I decided to take a leap and opted for medium rare. And what a leap it was! Our glasses were perpetually filled, naturally with a fine bottle of red to complement the steak. The adventure begins at the salad bar, a veritable cornucopia of delights: salmon, pickled ginger, pork scratchings (yes, really), potatoes, pasta, sushi—you name it, they had it. I made the rookie mistake of overloading my plate, but who could resist? Back at the table, the fun truly begins. A simple flip of a beer mat from red to green signals your readiness for meat, and then it’s a carnivore’s dream. The steak parade commences: filet mignon, rump, rib eye, Brazilian steak—the hits just keep on coming. I was constantly flipping my mat, red to green, green to red, in a blissful meat-induced trance. At one point, a staff member kindly inquired if we were driving. Our 'no' was met with a cheeky, “Well, let’s get that glass topped up a little more.” Boom. Exceptional service, stunning views across the Tyne, and a meat feast that still has me drooling at the memory. If you haven’t been yet, mark your calendar—you will not be disappointed. I, for one, will definitely be returning, and I wholeheartedly recommend this place to all meat lovers. Vegetarians, this one’s not for you. Kudos to the incredible staff and the fabulous food. The best Brazilian restaurant in UK! Food was amazing, it’s like eating in Brazil. It’s good all around.

First visit as a couple, booked for 5pm on a busy Saturday evening. Not certain how it worked but explained by a helpful lady. Turn your disc to show green if you want a cut of meat, red if you dont Excellent salad bar, a constant stream of servers passing our table offering various steak, lamb, chicken etc. Personal view, go for weekday lunch if you can at £26.95, the near identical evening offering is not worth £45 per head. Can't tell the steak apart. Also having incurred a very large bill with a 10% service charge added we were told we had to leave with less than 2 hours on the clock as our table was needed for others at 7pm. The usual issues on busy Saturdays.

Not worth the money! Overly salty cheap cuts of meats. Service from the staff was okay but food wasn't good for what you got. Save yourself the money and go to a decent steak house. If you are wanting lots of food then this might be the place for you but if you want good food then there is far better places in the local area.

I was really reluctant to go with my friends being a steakhouse and I am pescatarian. Once in, I was pleasantly surprised with the selection of fish and vegetarian options! So much so I actually forgot to take pictures! Will be going again if I am able to!

I’ll start off by saying I love this place and come quite regularly. But In my honest opinion it’s better to go through the day the service is much better. Twice now I’ve been on a night time and both time service has been poor the worst being the other night the meat taking far to long to come round by the time you’ve got stuff from salad bar you’ve filled up on that we had been sat at our table for 30 minutes the bread rolls cheese balls came quite quick but drinks took 15minutes and then we asked where the chips were after 20mins it took around 35minutes for chips to come after asking twice and they only brought one little pot between 4 they usually bring 2 the meat did start to come a lot faster at around the 45 minutes mark but by that time we were too full and at £45 a head for abit salad and potatoes not good the restaurant wasn’t busy so not sure why service is so poor on a night time

Wow, wow, wow! All you can eat ... with the best food ... in real style. What an experience - first class service, accompanied by fantastic food. You help yourself to the fine salad and sides options, and then numerous and various delicious meats are regularly brought to your table and freshly carved. This has to be experienced to appreciate just how good a dining experience this is. Think of it as the best all-you-can-eat ever!

Couldn't fault rio food amazing staff couldn't do enough went early but we were still welcomed ☺️

I went and got the all you can eat steak and the service was mint the food was extremely high quality with a very nice salad bar wich even thou it is nice I would save room for the steaks.the staff seemed like you were best mates with them and didn’t force them self to be nice they just enjoyed it 10/10 from me

I absolutely love this place. Unlike other restaurants you can choose a variety of meats to eat. The gourmet buffet has everything you need to accompany the meat. You also get chips and beautiful cheesy fresh bread on your table, with a peppercorn sauce. The service is outstanding! The drinks are very reasonably priced and a good selection. I really can't fault anything.

Couldn’t recommend more! Absolutely unbelievable food 😍 the service was brilliant, the different meats were constantly and quickly brought over to the table and all tasted absolutely delicious, definitely something for everyone. The staff were super friendly and even brought a surprise dessert out for my birthday which was very special :) can’t wait to go again!

This is one of the best meals out I’ve ever had. The steaks tasted perfect, the vibe was good and reasonably priced for what it is. Visit here if possible.

I went there today for my boyfriend's birthday, I didn't expect for special birthday dessert but all the staff are brilliant! The stakes are really nice and fresh. Definitely I will go again very soon🤩🤩

Food was amazing staff was amazing and the lamb was definitely my favourite would definitely recommend and definitely go again
