The best toasty I have had in years. Cheese and ham good but the bread is homemade and crips up to take the toasty to another level. Thank you very much!

We were a bit put off by the name. Aldeburgh Market conjured up an image of a cafe inside an actual market. But needs must, and they could seat us at short notice on a Saturday evening, so we went there. And it's not like a cafe in a market at all. It's a very smart modern restaurant, small but it also has tables on the pavement outside. Staff are very friendly and helpful, food is really great, what's not to like? We far preferred it to the Lighthouse and Suffolk sur Mer. So much so that we returned a few nights later

Our party of 5 was virtually ignored by staff who didn’t take our order until 30 minutes and after one of the party asked at the bar. Not all the food arrived said to be not entering system. Left not having any mains. Our bill had an item which was ordered but never arrived.

Enjoyed a takeaway from this place, craving something different after lots of (lovely) meals in Suffolk pubs. Didn't disappoint , very tasty and generous portions. Especially liked the belly pork dish. Not the cheapest for a takeaway but recommended.

This is now actually called the Alde Cafe. I’ve been twice in the last three days. There are fancier places along the High Street, but you will not get a better meal there than you will find at the Alde. Sean is a brilliant cook who prepares every dish with both flare and a respect for tradition. It was the best fry up I have had in the last twenty years, and a welcomed alternative to the recent tendency of serving them up in thali dishes, with about a tablespoon of beans in one and a cubic centimeter of toast in another. I just had the kedgeree, which was magnificently prepared with haddock from the smokehouses along the Shingle. There are many reasons to come to ever-beautiful Aldeburgh. But I’d rank breakfast or lunch at the Alde Cafe at the very top of my list.

The service and overall quality of this restaurant made for a great dining experience. Our group of golfers will definitely return.

Wonderful experience from start to finish. Thank you very much to the staff who worked so hard and who helped with dairy and gluten free choices - So much on the menu can be adapted and nothing felt like too much trouble. The food was lovely and the service relaxed and unobtrusive. Will definitely return.

So disappointed with our Sunday lunch on our last day in Aldebough. We both had porchetta which is a particular favourite of ours and the whole reason for booking. So instead of succulent pork loin rolled in pork belly and stuffed with herbs we were presented with just pork belly rolled around a tasteless stuffing. The dining room had all the character of a motorway services and the serving staff, although sweet enough, were rather clueless. A request for a glass of Rioja resulted in blank looks and after repeating three times we had to point it out on the wine list. It may be we were unlucky as other reviews here have been good but for us, a very disappointing experience unlike some excellent meals we had enjoyed over the week in Aldebough.
