Enjoyed a takeaway from this place, craving something different after lots of (lovely) meals in Suffolk pubs. Didn't disappoint , very tasty and generous portions. Especially liked the belly pork dish. Not the cheapest for a takeaway but recommended.

Takeaway Friday night for six of us. Started with chicken satay and seafood tempura, followed by Thai green chicken curry, rice and pad Thai. The aromas wafting from Eliza’s on the way down the town steps for us to collect really got our mouths watering. Would definitely recommend. Thankyou ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Finally visited Eliza’s this evening after around five years prevarication , and boy was it worth the wait . Proper traditional Thai food from a relatively small but varied menu and every dish bursting with flavour . The four of us opted for four starters with noodles and rice so we could share . The Tempura cod , Satay chicken , Crispy Thai Pork and Minced Pork Larb were all perfectly cooked and delicious and served with their own really fresh, well flavoured and balanced sauces but I have to say the stand out dish was the Larb. Never had it before but it was just incredible . And as a bonus without us even asking, the waiter asked us if we’d like the leftovers to be packed up to take home ,,,, and of course we did . Now we need to return to try the hot red beef curry . Would thoroughly recommend this place .

I booked a table for dinner after we visited a while back for a drink. The food looked great and the restaurant had a good vibe, so this time it was dinner for us. We weren't disappointed, we shared the minced pork larb for starters, perfect. For mains I had the crispy cod and my wife the pad Thai noodles with chicken, again, both really excellent dishes. The portions are generous so bear that in mind when ordering. The atmosphere was convivial and the staff/service good. In summary, we both really enjoyed the food, and we shall return.

Tasty and authentic Thai food. Very generous portions, especially the starters which are definitely for sharing. Thoroughly recommend the minced pork in lettuce leaves starter. Friendly service and accommodating of food intolerance. Would have given it a 5 star review but we were sat upstairs and it felt a little soulless (some background music would be nice) .

I only ordered two dishes, so perhaps what I got was not representative. I ordered the Satay starter, and for the main course the spicy seafood dish. The satay was ok but certainly nothing spectacular. The Spicy Seafood was not spicy at all, and it was probably the oiliest Thai dish I've ever encountered. It was literally dripping in clear cooking oil. And I didn't realize you had to order the rice ala carte, which I suppose helped me avoid eating oily rice. By the way the Pub where you pick up your takeaway seemed a great place to get a beer. If all their food was somehow represented in these two dishes, I'd eat somewhere else. This was not good Thai food.

This place has it all. Relaxed vibe, nice staff, amazing food, great atmosphere, excellent value. I went here because I’m on a healthy diet and needed to find something good for my body as well as my taste buds and this place didn’t disappoint. I had Eliza’s crispy cod and it was just the tastiest thing I’ve had in ages, all of the food was excellent but I can’t remember all the other dishes I had. Had a lovely time and great food which is all you can ask for on a night out really. I hope I have reviewed the right place. I thought it was called the Thai street cafe!

Really disappointed with our takeaway meal this evening. Starters were fine but mains disappointing. Chicken curry sauce watery and not at all spicy. Not expecting so many mushrooms and so little meat. Crispy cod was soggy with hardly any batter. Spicy seafood not spicy and was grainy and claagy with a strange texture and some indeterminate vegetables. We left more than we forced down. The jasmine rice was just one solid lump. We had been recommended to by friends but meal was not value for money. Feedback sent to restaurant initially but no response hence this review. It was meant to be a special end of holiday meal instead a rather damp squib

The service was great too, both the lady and gent front of house made us feel welcome, they were chatty and friendly. This place appears to be very popular, we lost count of how many people turned up for tables and the takeaway seemed very in demand too. Kicking ourselves for not using this place on previous stays in Aldeburgh. On first impression, the menu did seem a little expensive, but actually the quality, flavours and portions proved it to be good value. Between a family of 4, including 2 teenagers with large appetites, we had two sharing starters, 3 main courses, a vegetable side and a couple of rice which was more than enough, all of which were delicious and of a high quality.I was also impressed with the click and collect system used. After a small error with our booking was remedied my family of four was accommodated in the main bar. Really nice staff, both behind the bar as well as the restaurant waiting staff. Such a nice surprise to have quality Thai street food served in the middle of Aldeburgh high street. Good menu selection, all four of us had different dishes and we found the portion sizes to be med-large. My wife is a vegan and the staff helped her choose an appropriate meal. All meals were hot (a bug bear of mine in restaurants) and all shared across the table and gleefully finished off! The bar had a good selection of lagers, cider and ale. On the first floor, above the main bar, is a dedicated room for restaurant tables, this was empty when we visited so we were glad that we could eat in the bar. Not much else to say other than give it a try, we don't think you would be disappointed.

We returned to Eliza’s having eaten there before last year. Menu hasn t changed which is fine but there were oddly lots of flies in the bar which may have been a one off as the weather was changing, but was most off putting when trying to enjoy dinner. No doubt the owner is flat out with the Summer holiday rush, so I thought I would respond as an extremely satisfied customer to the last two 2 star reviews. Firstly, who would take half a bottle of wine and a cocktail into a bar? Secondly, and most likely due to misunderstanding the pressure on a very small kitchen area, this time of year that you need to pre-order a takeaway....or at least ask in advance if you need to, otherwise you might be disappointed that they cannot do. We had a takeaway last week, I did ring in the morning and the owner rang me back and managed not only to do a take away order for 8 people, when she had another pre-booked takeaway order for 16, but at the very last minute make some extra dishes for someone with a nut allergy that we had forgotten about. All the other food was clearly labelled to avoid confusion. I think eat in or eat out the staff go the extra mile. So if you are thinking of a takeway during very busy Summer months, think about popping in, picking up a menu and pre-ordering. We were recommended this bar serving Thai food last year and have been back many times and have NEVER been disappointed.

Absolutely disgusting service. We are local residents expecting a good meal as the food has always been very good in the past and the food was good this time. However we were suddenly ‘not allowed to be served drinks anymore’. Reasons being - ‘leaving food on the floor’ and because we did bring an unfinished bottle of prosecco and a cocktail into the bar 2 hours earlier (from a previous bar) initially however we paid corkage on this (and offered to pay this on the cocktail - we also asked if they did the cocktail in the bar before) the waitress also made no mention of this after numerous times serving us. Regarding the food on the floor, we have no idea what this is regarding, if there was any, this was usual crumbs etc. They then said we were too drunk (which felt like clutching at straws), as a local I have seen a large number of patrons extremely drunk on a regular basis in this establishment. Overall disappointed, they also made a comment which insinuated this ‘wasn’t our type of place’, little did they realise we are locals who will give them business all year round, not just in Summer.

I went with several friends and family to DPs for Thai this weekend to celebrate a birthday. Eliza and the team outdid themselves again! Sarah the waitress advised us on dishes to account for various diets and tastes, she recommended several dishes which we shared between us.

So often, Thai food, like Indian and Chinese is mainly cooked earlier in the day and just sauce added and then heated up. This food was amazing, clearly fresh and cooked to order. The crispy pork and accompanying sauce left us speechless albeit able to put in an immediate repeat order. We live 3 hours away, but would gladly drive that distance just for the crispy pork.

I am a massive fan of Thai cuisine. Unless you actually travel to any foreign country, you're never going to get true authentic food, but this comes satisfyingly close. In truth, the dishes probably lack some of the heat you'd get overseas, however this is more than compensated by flavour. The seafood tempura was light and crispy and the fish so fresh, I was surprised that it didn't swim off my plate. The Thai chicken curry which is the acid test as far as I'm concerned was spot on. It ticked all the usual sweet, sour, hot and salty notes and the pond of sauce was great to mix with the jasmine rice. The pork with 3 sauces came with 0 sauces, however it tasted so good and was so moist, why complain! The setting is rather quirky with a nice relaxed vibe and friendly staff, so very Thai indeed if you've been. Overall a fabulous meal and will without doubt return very soon.

We (13 of us) recently visited the Thai street food cafe as part of a celebratory weekend for my parents. The food was exceptional, service was friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed. Eliza went out her way to accommodate the 3 fussy eaters which was really appreciated. If you are thinking of visiting then make the effort, don't put it off, you won't regret it. Without any doubt I will be returning.

5 of us went on Good Friday evening. The Street Cafe opened for the summer on the Thursday evening. The food was fantastic with new items added to the menu. Emma explained the portion sizes and gave recommendations, We asked for starters to be served with the mains and they all arrived quickly, together and were amazing!!! The newly decorated upstairs rooms were fab, the staff welcoming and they've now got a card machine. Book early to avoid disappointment!!!

We discovered DP's in the Summer having heard that it was extremely good. We like to sit in the bar area, which is busy and friendly. Great staff, nothing too much trouble. The dishes are all delicious and we have visited many times since our first visit. Very satisfied customers, the last time on 22nd December. Highly recommended.

Found this fantastic place whilst walking along the beach and saw the menu on the rear gates.Came with our grown up children and had a fantastic meal. The Crispy Pork was fantastic and the sesame sauce was out of this world. Pad Thai was awesome. Went home and found out when the kitchens finished for the year and my Wife and I went back on Saturday to have another great meal.Service was very good and the atmosphere in the bar was friendly. Can't wait until 1st April 2018 for the return of this great restaurant.

We ate here over the bank holiday weekend whilst staying in Aldeburgh. I love Thai food so was pleased to see it nearby to our accommodation as it made a nice change from the other restaurants/pubs which have similar menus to each other.

Been here many times, family run hotel that puts the major hotel chains to shame. First class food, staff excellent as usual, rooms have been and are being refurbished to a high standard, lounge areas very comfortable, open fires in the bar and one of the lounges, can't see anything to complain about

This is my sons favourite place in the world. He loves the waffles (now he has got used to the new style ones). He loves sitting in and all the staff we have encountered are so lovely. Be patient. All is made from scratch and they can be very busy. Worth the wait

We decided to pop in for a drink ,my partner went to the bar and I went to the toilet ,10 mins later my partner still at the bar not been acknowledged woman sat behind the bar not looking at him and what looked like the manager talking to some people ,fair enough if you can't serve say so or if your talking just say you will be a minute. They were so rude and ignorant maybe if we had been stuck up people he may have looked at us ,but we are just normal. One to avoid

If you want smashed avocado on sourdough with pea shoots and other unnecessary greenery then this cafe is not for you. But if you want the best quality full English, fresh unfussy honestly presented British and local food then you’re in the right place. Always a warm welcome, seriously tasty local food, simply cooked and unpretentiously presented. Today’s special were some seriously big juicy scallops which I had with my full English and they were an inspired combination and very popular. Thanks Sean for another outstanding breakfast. Keeping consistent standards like this is a real labour of love but it shines through in the food. Lovely breakfast and not an avocado in sight. PS a ‘greasy spoon’ this is not!
