Great takeaway food. Ordered, went for a pint and it was ready. Very tasty and prawn crackers thrown in. Gets a yes from me.

My wife and I visited this pub twice this weekend and I have to say that this pub was simply put, outstanding. The food was so so good and the Sunday roast was about the best I have ever eaten. My wife loved the food too especially the desert, chocolate brownie with ice cream. the staff were so good and polite. Thank you for a wonderful experience!!! 5 stars all around.

Family coming from Essex, Suffolk and Norfolk. This was the first time we'd been here. The staff were excellent in their welcome and service. The food presentation, portions and quality again were excellent. The menu gives very good choices and has been well thought out. The White Hart is comfortable and relaxing with a nice size garden (with play area for children that is safe but does not intrude). We had a really enjoyable time, thanks to all at the White Hart.

One of the worst roast dinners I’ve had. I had the three meat roast, the Turkey was as dry as a leather boot, the crackling from the pork was the size of my little toe, the veg was hard, even though I’d asked for it cooked through. In addition to this, I had 3 potatoes…. One of which was smashed to pieces underneath all the food, one so small and hard it almost flew off the plate, and the third was just a simple boiled potato. Not what expect for £20.

I recently dined at this venue known for its upscale ambiance and fine dining offerings. While I anticipated a luxurious experience, I left with mixed feelings about the heft price tag was justified. The food was good but not spectacular enough to defend the high prices charged for the main meal. The lamb pie was £23 and the lamb dish of the day was £32. I shall not be rushing to revisit this venue any time soon.

We were staying at the Premier Inn next door and it was our first night after a long drive so we wanted a quick early meal. Steph the manager smiled and acknowledged us as soon as we arrived ( always a good sign) even though she was busy. Our waitress Misha was excellent - warm, friendly and very efficient. We both had fish and chips which was lovely and a surprisingly large portion at the unbelievable price of only £6 (ordered before 6pm. )A brilliant start to our stay in Norfolk. Thankyou !

This used to be one of the premiere outlets for exotics in the country at one point, it is really sad to see some of the display areas removed from around the nursery and the exciting plant selection fizzle to fairly run of the mill things being sold at high prices, possibly a victim of its own success, it used to be so exciting with such an amazing insightful range on offer at good prices and now it’s not far off being a very average garden centre with high prices, the passion seems to have gone out of it. The reorganisation of the restaurant is also a mistake in the old days it had a much better vibe sitting amidst the amazing large tropical specimens that were for sale, now you just bang your head on very run of mill house plants in hanging tubs and are relegated to boring little seating area, sorry urban jungle but the passion seems to be gone.

We have been to this pub before for both drinks and food, and have always been really impressed with the service. However, today, we popped in for a quick drink and were made to feel really unwelcome. The barman seemed to be annoyed that we were there (despite the fact that the pub was empty). He then turned away a group of eight people who just wanted a drink. We won't be returning.

Having been Brasted’s devotees, this was our first visit to the restaurant at Caistor Hall and it was excellent. The whole building has been refurbished and now looks modern and welcoming. The room housing the restaurant under previous ownership was cold and underwhelming but is now a fine place to eat The menu essentially is the Brasted’s three course fine dining restaurant with good choices, good portion sizes and exceedingly well cooked. Many aspects set Brasted’s apart but one of them is the professionalism of the waiters and waitresses. Very well trained and very much appreciated. Would that other establishments aiming to operate in the fine dining arena got this important aspect right Nice to have comfortable lounges for a pre dinner drink and very nice to know that Caistor Hall is being well run and fulfilling its potential - we look forward to the result of the new extension works. Strongly recommended - best place to go
