We had a very friendly welcome. We had booked here for an evening meal. Good honest pub grub. Great quality burgers and homemade chilli. Good gluten free options. All freshly made. Great portions. Excellent customer service. Great for families. Lots of choices and weekly special menus. Good value. Also smaller meals for smaller appetites. Highly recommended.

We had the pleasure of staying here as Guests of the Owners of this Pub and although many will say my view of this Pub is biased I can assure you it is not.The Pub has a very homely friendly air about it and the service from all staff was outstanding.We had our evening Meals on the two evenings and it was amazing.All food is freshly prepared and the portions are more than enough and there is a wide varied choice of mouth watering food on the menu so you will be spilt for choice.We can not wait to return there again.

As me and my wife had just moved into the area thought we would give our local a try and boy were we not disappointed we went there on a Thursday night and great it’s steak night. My wife and I were shopping on Norwich and on our way back home to the wilds of Essex when we suddenly felt hungry and decided to stop at the first place that looked like it might solve our problem. The Countryman was the first place that caught our eye on the Ipswich Road.

Went there on a Tuesday night very early as their website and bill board outside said they were serving meals and that they had 2 bars and a restaurant. Was advised that we couldn't have a meal as 'all the tables were booked as it was bingo night'. We left and will not return.

It is our local really and have been on many an occasion for a meal and would just like to say that the food is always excellent.

Reservamos para una comida de domingo y no nos decepcionó. El servicio era de primera clase y opciones de menú muy bueno. Mis dos hijos pidió la lasaña del menú infantil. Generosas porciones de tamaño para una pareja de chicos con hambre! Quizá sería demasiado grande una porción si dado a un hijo menor. Excelente relación calidad-precio y muy sabroso. Mi marido eligió la lasaña vegetariana, que era también muy sabrosa. Fui por la torta de carne, verduras y patatas asadas. Increíble! Un montón de piezas de carne tierna en el pastel, una selección de 5 verduras perfectamente cocinado y el mejor acompañamiento patatas asadas que he tenido en mucho tiempo! Sin duda volveremos a la compatriota cuando esté en la zona, y lo recomendaría sin dudarlo.

Una cálida bienvenida y un servicio bueno, junto con un montón de opciones de menú. Cada comida que he tenido ha sido sabroso y bien preparado. La comida no es cara, así que es una muy buena relación calidad-precio.

First time we had eaten here. The portions were large but not that tasty. We assumed the food was cooked from scratch as we had a long wait for our meals. The decor needs a bit of attention.

Very friendly staff, stopped for late lunch on beautiful sunny day, nice little outdoor space with plenty of shade and sun traps, loads of parking spaces, unfortunately I thought the beer (lager) was off and although the burger was lovely, the bun was a bit soggy.

Mi pub local. Al entrar con un niño de 4 año para comer era inmediatamente lee el libro regla sobre los niños y lo que está permitido y no permitido. No saludo de bienvenida o calidez. Menú grande pero aburrida, uno de nuestro grupo tenía un curry, que parecía que venía de un frasco Lloyd grossman (o de otras instituciones similares). Mi chili no era mucho mejor, finas y carecía de cualquier ooomph! Comida del niño era normal. Me hubiera gustado haber sido más entusiasta, pero era realmente comida normal, en el mejor de los casos, los precios mucho más que comida vale la pena, y la amabilidad y la calidez de la acogida de un problema real, no sólo para nosotros, pero para una pareja que nos siguió con un niño pequeño. La camarera era muy bueno en la justicia pero la gerencia necesita un registro de la realidad sobre la creación de un entorno familiar. Nos asomamos a la otra pareja después de tanto ser leído el mismo libro de normas, elevando nuestras cejas! Una oportunidad perdida porque hubiera sido mejor que me hubiera regresado regularmente ya que comer 2 a 3 veces cada semana.

Very nice pub/restaurant, staff very helpful and attentive but not intrusive. Food, gammon steak cooked to perfection, BBQ ribs were lovely, chips not hand made neither were the beer battered onion rings both frozen versions, having said that will go again because the food was very nice average price although ribs were a bit on the pricey side.

Party of 8 went there for Sunday Lunch, food was hot and generous portions, had starter main and sweet all excellent, I had Sunday Roast Turkey and the rest had Beef, they also do Scampi, Stake & Ale Pies, Lasange etc, all home cooked. Not a carvery, but plated food with like I said generous portions of meat all cooked perfectly. We had sweets which were all great, I had a Treacle pudding, yum!

We eat here from time to time - often on a Sunday evening - and they do not fail to provide a good meal at a sensible price with good service. The menu is varied and the beer is good, too. Will be going again...

Realmente impresionado con la comida de Navidad que tuvimos aquí con mi club deportivo local. Toda la comida estaba muy bien preparado y las porciones eran acertadas no amontone a una agradable cantidad sensata. This place is now under new management . It needs a bit of a facelift inside but is a good traditional pub with some good beers, a decent menu at reasonable prices. We had the Christmas menu which was very nice.

I visited The Countryman for a meal out with friends we were met with a very warm welcome and shown to our table (we had booked) a waitress soon took our drinks order and we were given time to look at the large & varied menu we had to wait a while for the food to arrive but they were very busy , It was worth the wait it was presented well and the helpings were large we had already chosen a sweet but found after a starter and main course we were too full ! A short while later we were offered chicken nuggets & chips (complementary) most of the people at the bar took them up on this generous offer the staff were friendly and attentive without being obtrusive

Habíamos tenido dos buenas comidas con un excelente vino, decidimos hacer nuestros amigos para disfrutar de una comida en nuestro nuevo hallazgo. Por desgracia, algo ha cambiado. El vino que nos gustó fue fuera de stock y la reposicion ni de lejos tan buena, la comida estaba por debajo de la media. Ensalada de aguacate y gambas mi recién pelados era un desastre! El aguacate era tan fresco como una manzana granny smith y las gambas eran baratos congelados aún nadando en agua salada no recién pelada. La carne pegajosa chili también era diferente a anteriormente y decepcionante. Nos ofrecieron un descuento por parte de la comida, pero en retrospectiva que probablemente no era suficiente. No volveremos.

One of the best Sundays roasts around. Get there early as they can run out of what you really want. Try thier homemade keylime pie or lemon posset. Amazing.

Este pub fue tomada recientemente, afortunadamente se ha alojado un freehouse. Siempre fue muy buena, así que antes de campo, estábamos preocupados de que las cosas podrían haber cambiado. Booked a table here on a Saturday night...when we arrived the pub/restaurant was quite empty and I worried that that was a sign that we were going to have a bad experience...shouldn't have had any worries as it was a great little place to eat...the waitresses were really friendly and very prompt with taking orders and delivering drinks to the table...food was good and most things home cooked which is what I love...portions were large...only one of our table finished their mains...the menu is large too with something for everyone...best cheesecake I've had in a while...my husbands waffles were a little dry and thin but he still ate them!!!the decor is quite dark which I appreciate is part of the traditional look..possibly a bit of a spruce up with paints etc might make it feel nicer inside.

Yo todavía no han comido en el Countryman, pero he comido en el restaurante dirigido por el anterior nuevos propietarios, El Fruiterers. Si eres un single diner, una pareja o un grupo familiar tendrá una cálida bienvenida. Sé que dejará de haber tenido una comida estupenda en un entorno ambiental.
