The best restaurants serving Chinese food in Scotland

Ordered food on the app last night , took over an hour and a half to be delivered. When we called to ask where it was , we were told it was taking so long as they were waiting for duck to defrost to make the meals. Even though they claim that all of their food is freshly cooked it clearly wasn’t as it was frozen! We had to throw out most of the food as it arrived freezing cold and the duck was only half cooked and looked white and it was slimy. It hadn’t seen a frying pan. We phoned again to complain and we were told they couldn’t do anything about it as there was no manager there, they also laughed at us while we complained on the phone. We’ve been up all night ill with the small amount we did try to eat! We definitely will NOT EVER BE COMING BACK. Such a disappointment as it used to be the best in town!!!

Had an order here last week after hearing they got better. What a difference from last time we ordered few months ago. Everything piping hot, friendly staff. Curry did not disappoint! Give this another chance folks. Will be our goto again!!

Awful food, really rushed, reheated, and sub-standard, with small portions for starters. This is a “beef curry”: enough said really. Look at the state of it. Meat was rotten. Absolutely disgusting. Rice Bowl’s then refused to facilitate the refund we asked for. Absolutely disgusted, avoid.

Most ridiculous thing I’ve ever encountered. I went in to eat and ordered 3 starters. She told me I had to order a main course. I said I didn’t want one be cause that’s plenty of food. She said I could just add some noodles or chips to my order as it had to spend £20 after 5pm (it was actually like 10 to when I walked in which made it even dumber but by the time she said those words it was bang on 5pm so I couldn’t argue). I was the only person in there so it’s not like I was taking up table space they needed. Worse still, she pointed out the pre-theatre menu and said I could order from that, a two course meal containing only one of the items I wanted and a lot of stuff I didn’t, for £15.90. Less than the cost of the order I wanted which was £18 odd. I once got a take away from here which wasn’t good but after seeing so many reviews saying take aways are rubbish but eating in is good I thought I’d give it a try. Guess I’ll never know as I’m never gonna be hungry enough to eat £20 worth of food by myself

Take my advice AVOID AVOID we went for my birthday last night a main each with sides rice and chips,& shredded chicken. it was the most disgusting food ever from here. I was feeling sick afterwards and my partner wouldnt eat his. to start off the shredded chicken didn't have any detectable chicken in it, it was only thin strips of batter, back het, terribly hard unable to chew. and sauce was but a salty gloop! king prawn curry was over cooked so all prawns were hard chewy just the way prawns not meant to be cooked. The chips were hard, inedible and back het so much so the crows didn't want them. Duck green peppers black bean sauce was disgusting. never seen duck meat that thick, I very much doubt it was duck. it was huge chunks hard meat with slimy croc skin utterly disgusting. it went down toilet, the cat wouldn't even eat it. I did attempt to complain to Ben about it but the phone service is rude argumentative and abusive. I got a load of abuse and hung up on. 88 is a dive now. They definitely should be shut down. But they don't care because they're making so much money selling to all the drunks with low standards in what they consume they dont care what is in the food they’re eating. Never ever go here on a Friday Saturday night because you’ll probably get dog and be unwell. GO ELSEWHERE. Unless you enjoy indigestible yuck- I felt sick after eating what little I had. it's put me off going back and it was once my regular Chinese takeout years ago. We hadnt been for a long while but thought treat for birthday. HIGE MISTAKE. especially since all the abuse off the girl over phone when tried to complain. -there are many better places to take away food in Ayr. Punjab in main street. have crispy light fluffy chips great tandoori tender meat cooked fresh. I took photos because the public should be informed standards in 88 have gone to the dogs. Def go elsewhere the girls on the phone leave a lot to be desired and the food isn’t what I’d call food. Do yourself a favour AVOID AVOID AVOID it is abysmal abusive and disgusting. GO Anywhere in Ayr or Prestwick BUT HERE!!!

We ordered a take away while having a weekend away, daughter collected it and the 4 of us said it was one of the best Chinese meals we’ve had in years, everything was so fresh and tasty

The best Chinese restaurant I have been to since moving through to east Lothian. Always call beforehand and pick up my order as they are constantly busy!

haven't gave the food a rating...as didn't receive it! ordered 9.30pm, online said at 10.10pm it was completed. phoned at 20 past 10 to ask about delivery, was told would be with us in a few mins. 1050pm phoned to ask about delivery again and was told they would talk to the driver and get back to us.... they didn't...phoned again at 11pm, they said there must have been a mix up... someone else paid and had our food...and we had nothing. Was told that they were now closed and couldn't do anything. Now I don't have food after working till 8.30pm and getting home to order what was my favourite Chinese. We waited almost 2 hours.. to then receive nothing. I will not be ordering from this restraunt for delivery again.

Best Chinese Takeaway in or Around Ayr 😋

The worker that served me on Saturday 28th September was so nice. She helped me when I did not understand what the food was like and also made me feel respected. The food was also unreal but that girl was super nice she needs a raise!!! Her customer service skills were unreal.

I ordered a beef curry and spring rolls and it took just about 2 hours to come I am disappointed because it’s is shocking I will not be getting from there again because they take the absolute piss with your food

Sent wrong order instead having to collect . Having to settle now as hungry . But this place was always really nice . Barking now avoid wasting your money . Never felt scunnered before but won't be eating there again and partners tea was minging as well most were binned for almost twenty quid . Yuk yuk 🤮🤢
