Orient Japanese & Chinese Restaurant in West Lothian

Order from this Chinese and it’s usually the best, good strong flavours and well cooked meat. This time it took over an hour to arrive, every single bit of food was bland and the chicken was like rubber. Very disappointing

Curry sauce wasn’t great, order from here quite a lot but disappointed this time.

The people working in the shop was really nice and helpful. As they helped me order online, addition to that the food was delicious and fresh!

the food was mediocre and a bit cold. the meat was chewy and has a greasy taste to it. very bland and the sauce was lumpy in bits and runny at others. the rice was hard and clumped together like it has been heated in a microwave and not shaken or stirred to break it up. overall not a very pleasant experience.

Everything in our order was wrong…it tasted good so can’t complain about the taste but not one dish was right…also took a long time to arrive. Appreciate the wait times can be long on weekend but to wait so long and for it all to be incorrect was disappointing. Don’t think we will order from here again

Food took over 1 and a half hours to arrive and food was only lukewarm. Won tuns were burnt

Abysmal. We ordered the chicken curry and chicken in black bean sauce. We agreed that we have tasted better microwave meals from asda, the chicken was slimy with a grisly texture. Very disappointing as I was looking forward to it all day. Wasted £27 on this rubbish

we did not receive our food despite ordering before the restaurant closed and them accepting the order. this is completely unacceptable service.

I added notes to the order and this was ignored. Duck in fried rice had BBQ sauce and I had asked for no sauce. Duck was mainly horrible rubbery skin and fat hardly any duck breast meat. Disappointed

says delivered on app at about half past 7 but did not receive food till 8 o'clock and when food did arrive it was not as expected chips where soggy chicken was like rubber only good thing about it was the cola and rice I ordered do not recommend

Could tell it wasn’t fresh and had been sitting as the rice was cooked but had crunch as if it was sitting on hotplate to keep hot etc. Prawn balls was soggy but tasted okay

The delivery address was maps location not my address it was next doors. Phoned to change it and were told that an attempt had been made to deliver and was now back at the restaurant and was wasted food. We would have to order again and pay for it a second time. No chance. No one tried to contact us to find out what was going on. Cheek to have it registered as delivered. Have spoken with my neighbour and no one tried to deliver, must have tried a different similarly named street.

OV is always outstanding, ive tried lots from the menu and it never lets me down always on time always tasty, a solid quality takeaway.

Food was terrible. Dry chicken. Chips cold and stinking of old chip fat. Wouldn’t answer phone when called to explain issue.

1.5hrs delivery time on a Wednesday evening and the food was tepid and soggy - had to heat it up and it was inedible so went in the bin. No apology from the driver either. Won’t be using again.

Delivery was 30 minutes over the latest time stated and was cold on arrival. We had to reheat. Not a great experience which is disappointing as we’ve eaten from here before and it was lovely.

Quick easy to order and delivery very quick

We completely messed up as we didn't hear the door. This restaurant went over and above for us by remaking our meal for delivery (without being asked to) to ensure that it was fresh. ☺️

The food tonight was barely warm on arrival which was worrying since we live less than a minute away. The standard of food tonight was also much less than we are usually served. Really dissapointing. This has put me off ordering from here again.

was a bit late however the quality was good, with the bad weather yesterday I wasn't surprised that my order would be a little late. the driver was so nice about handing me my food and looked great with his highland cow hat haha. impeccable service if I do say so myself.

Omelette should came with chips no chips chicken balls in batter over cooked burnt .also omelette was chicken and ham but onions in also does not say omelette comes with onions or would of said in comments for the cook .first time used this place not again 😞

the chicken curry and rice box from here is so nice. Big bits of chicken in a lovely curry sauce not to nippy but still a nice kick to it. thanks again we enjoyed our food.

food was great piping hot, lovely girl on the counter she was very appologetic . i understood that ut was bonfire night and that it would probably be busy for drivers getting through traffic so just called up to see where it was.

Orient has been my go to Chinese since j moved to Livingston but the last few times I've had it the chips haven't Been cooked properly and the fried rice was in round mush balls I wasn't even sure if it was rice in the middle it looked disgusting . I've had severe stomach pains the last 2 times . I won't be going back again.

Was bad enough the estimated time was 1 hour 20 mins but then to be over 20minutes more and still do t have it not even a weekend night shocking

Foid brilliant however stated 30% discount if spending over £25 and never actually got thhat when i got to the checkout despite showing in the basket right up until it was time to pay the amount changed

Always use this place. Placed a mid week and it took over an hour. When i called to find it where it was, the women was less than pleasant. When it arrived the chicken balls were solid, the chips were soggy and the curry sauce was lumpy. I emailed them and i was ignored. Won’t be ordering from here again. There are other Chinese places closer to where i live so will be using them from now on. Maybe just an off day but won’t be back.

Shockingly small amount of food for £30. Two tiny small banana fritters and that’s a portion? Why so mean?
