Dragon Palace in West Lothian

Placed an order online on way home from airport, delivered 2 of same dish in error and all I got was attitude when I called and asked for it to be put right. Told I had to wait on driver returning with apparently THE only copy of the order to check and would call back, 15 mins nothing so I called again and got more attitude still no driver. An hour now since initial delivery, half my family don't have there dinner. Customer service is shocking.

Absolutely freezing cold total joke took over an hour to come & considering I’m only 10 mins away by car is shocking!!

Staying in the are for a few nights ordered dinner from here and not been able to leave toilet violently out both ends would not recommend and not the first review to report this either. Avoid, believe it was the salt and pepper chips !

I used to go here weekly and have done for many years. However, after discovering a dish was missed on arriving home 10 minutes later I called. However, I was advised there was no driver available to drop off the missed item so they wanted me to drive all the way back (so another 20 minutes round trip) to collect it yet by the time all of this took place and the staff member and the chef spoke the dishes I had were now stone cold yet they refused to replace my food order yet still wanted me to drive all the way in. Despite explaining that everything was now cold and I have been a customer for many years, paying upwards of £25-£30 each week my custom meant nothing. Eventually after about 10 minutes of the staff member and the chef talking I was advised a driver was now available. However, as above the food order was all cold and although the staff member said they would give me an extra rice (which I did not need) the rude chef ( who I could hear angrily shouting) was insistent on not willing to replace any of the now stone cold order, and I was advised to just put it all in the microwave! Which I believe after paying over £30 I should not have to do. After realising my value as a customer meant nothing and then highlighting I would accept the item being delivered but noted my dissatisfaction and reluctance to using the takeaway again the staff member (quite unbelievably and extremely abruptly) then said well your not getting your items and hung up. So not only were my items all cold, I was missing an item and because the staff member put the order through incorrectly I was overcharged by over £5 for the order. In summary, the customer service was disgraceful, the chef clearly does not value anyones custom and to hang up on a customer, not provide the food and overcharge is disgusting. Consequently, I will never use Dragon Palace and will happily give my weekly custom to Panda Restaurant.

Been long disappointed with carry out foods in Bathgate, but the Dragon Palace has been really good. Easy ordering on website, Quick delivery, Hot and tasty food.

Stay away from this place, the food is terrible, probably the worst Chinese in Bathgate. Total waste of money, I will never eat from there again.

Good although not good at following special orders, The delivery is the fastest ever known to man,iv just put the phone and the doors went,

well…i will admit the food is good, customer service on the other hand? needs a bit of work. Phoned up to ask for something to be removed from my order. didn’t even get to say hello and someone answered “it’s on its way” i say “pardon” they say “it’s coming right?” i was in shock so just hung up. Want customers money? treat them properly.

Re-heated fried rice from previous night, rice was very dry and hard this is the second time I have had this served to me, if you go at opening time you will no what to expect as it must be common practice for this establishment

This place is amazing! Never go anywhere else now.. Food always arrives well on time and pipping hot.. Counter staff also very friendly

This place is amazing and so are the staff, I was a tiny bit drunk last night and ordered the wrong ribs and they knew it was wrong because I left a daft note and they tried to phone me but didn’t get me and they sent the right thing! Also the salt and pepper chips are amazing

A 2 hour wait for delivery is never acceptable.

You would be quicker jumping on a train to Edinburgh for a meal than getting a delivery from here. A 2hr wait for lukewarm (that's being generous) food.

Been a recurring customer for years and always had good food. First problem experienced this evening and management totally unwilling to help or resolve.

Long wait on food .Staff member states she clicked button to say food had been delivered by justeat when it hadn't even left the shop. Refused to cancel. Staff rude. Won't be back.

My favourite Chinese ever!! salt and pepper chips are amazing and also salt and pepper chicken can take upto an hour for delivery but well worth the wait :)

Ordered salt and chilli chips and a curry sauce - the most basic order ever. Gave my BBQ sauce instead, I called back to let them know they had given me BBQ sauce by mistake "lady" on the phone was so rude and was adamant that that was what I asked for saying that she read it back to me, which she didn't as I wanted curry sauce so if she had in fact read back BBQ sauce to me I would have said no I wanted curry sauce. Absolutely shocking customer service, even blaming me saying I had asked for it. Used to be very nice staff here certainly won't be back.

Myself and my partner went for European menu..I took fillet steak and she took sirloin,both medium and were sharing chips.in Europe when you ask for a steak it should come plain but these were served in some sort of cinnamon gravy which overcooked the steaks and we gave up trying to eat them as they were so overcooked and tough.i washed them off and gave to dog,even she couldn’t chew them..this place has started to go downhill for a while now but for £23 you should have a decent meal...won’t be using again. Oh and it took over an hour and a half for delivery European food should be served as European food and we should get a choice if we want Chinese style gravy ruining it...

Ordered a home delivery, estimated deliver of 45 minutes, okay dont mind but was actually delivered after 1 hour & 45 minutes. Two calls were made chasing the food up. This is unacceptable and it doesn’t really matter what the food is like when it finally turns up as you are so wound up by the whole experience. There is no point providing a delivery service if its going to take so long, after all you are charging for it - this is why you get 1 star

IF you go for collection the food is amazing! However when I have had delivery the food has arrived 3 hours late and tasted 3 days old.

This place can be a hit or a miss over recent times in terms of consistency so don't use it that often for that reason. One dish that seems to be consistently good, at least for my palate is their duck in plum sauce - tender, juicy large portions in a tangy sauce. Very nice.

Food is good but it never actually arrives on time. If you want a delivery from here your looking at least 1hr 30mins to 2 hrs. This has now happened 3 times. There is equally as good Chinese restaurants that will deliver on time

Delivery driver dropped my food at the door and I could not understand a word he said because of his face mask on had to wait over an hour on delivery for it to be dropped all over the floor when it arrived

Dry and tasteless. Chicken looked like the ready chopped stuff you buy from the frozen isle in bargain stores; Chicken was spongy and flavourless. Little to no veg in this dish. I was expecting sone bamboo shoots and water chess nuts, maybe some crunchy onions even. Sadly disappointed. First time I’ve ever ordered from this establishment and will be the last. Couldn’t eat it all, it was very very dry.

We ordered the food for delivery so can expect that it mat not be as good as eating in the restaurant. The food was fine however the honey chilli shredded beef was mostly batter (not great for £7) but the sauce was still quite tasty. There was not a lot of fiery/peppery taste to the salt & pepper chips. Vegan options were a bit predictable, it would be nice to see a vegan option not just tofu based - however was aware of this when ordering the food. I phoned prior to query the type of noodles used in the plain chow mein, the person who answered was very polite and friendly and dealt with my query promptly.

Ordered from Dragon palace tonight and was extremely disappointed. The chicken wasnt cooked correctly to the point it had to be spat out. The salt and pepper chips could break a window if thrown and the chicken and sweetcorn soup was not a soup, it was a bowl of gelatine. Usually I don't review people but when I called up to make them aware of the food being sent out the reply I got was "That's fine!" and that was it. I didn't want more food or a refund, a simple apology would have been enough. Bad food, bad customer service!

had one the most delish meals for dinner yesterday from this lovely Chinese takeaway. ordered honey chili chicken breast with beef curry. delivered on time n exactly as I ordered. my mom is not keen on curries but even she said it's amazing. defo will be back again.

My first taste of the food offered by this establishment and I thoroughly enjoyed it. We had a varied menu and everything tasted fresh and delicious. My daughter who lives locally to the shop said "sometimes food quality is hit and miss." Thankfully on my visit it was indeed a hit.

This weekend, I ordered Chicken from Dragon Palace for the second time, it was marvellous especially Chicken with Mushroom. The price is really fair for such high quality and fresh food. Thank you Dragon Palace.

Amongst other items I ordered spicy crispy beef, all other food was good, the crispy spicy beef was absolutely disgusting, firstly the sauce was more of a sweet n sour sauce, the so called beef was in batter that looked good and when u lifted one piece about another 50 pieces came with it, The beef was like leather and had to chew it like it was “DISGUSTING”

My meal was delicious, and I'm glad to say the chicken was chicken, but my daughter asked for beef and I'm not sure what meat it was but it's definitely not beef. My poor girl can't finish her meal... Well, not the meaty bits anyway

Been going for years but new owners now and using cheaper meat (chicken rubber) and stopped giving free prawn crackers. Woman on reception is rude as well.

Don’t know what meat was on the ‘chicken’ satay sticks, but it most certainly WAS NOT chicken!!! Stick to the veg options!

Used to order frequently from here but changed months ago as food had gone downhill! I decided to try them again tonight to see if there was an improvement, well there was no improvement in fact I’d say the meal I got was delivered without sauce in it and I swear if I had added bisto it would have tasted like a Sunday roast! Which would have been ok if I had ordered a Sunday roast. The beef which may I add tasted like fish! Chips looked and felt like twigs! Too hard to eat and would probably have broken a few teeth! Revolting would be an understatement! £28 down the drain, makes me so mad. I will never order from here again!!

We ordered take-away on a friday night. Lots of choice as you'd expect and teh food was delivered when it was promised. It was hot and tasty and reasonably priced. I'd be happy to use again

I order a lot of Chinese food and so I ordered from here as my usual Chinese take away are closed for holidays. The lady was friendly and the food was ready very quickly!

Outstanding food delivered 15 mins early piping hot, absolutely no complaints except its a bit pricey. Ask for Ham egg foo yung not on menu but the perfect Chinese dish

It WAS the best take away half a year ago, but now something has changed up there, as if you ordering food during the working days - the food is not fresh and that tasty as at the weekends will never order it again during the week as just had to through it all to the bin... so sad.... i'm not usually writing reviews at all but just want them back to normal... hope they will fix it

So I've been getting take away from here every Saturday for over a year. Two Saturdays ago I got my normal take away of beef curry and chips and rice. After eating the 3rd bit of beef I thought there was something missing as it tasted funny the 4th bit I had to spit out straight away. Within one hour i was ill. Projectile vomiting upset stomach this lasted from the Saturday until the Thursday and wasn't till the Friday that I could start eating again. I know it must have been the beef either not cooked right or off as I only ate toast that day and this at night. I have never been so ill in my life this has definitely put me off Chinese for the rest of my life!

Get a takeaway from her every Saturday best beef curry tried every Chinese West Lothian and no one beats this one. Prawn crackers are the good thick ones that u very rarely get. Never had a bad meal from here. Strongly recommend.

La comida era bastante decente, sin embargo, después de 2 horas y media de espera para ser entregado, nos habríamos comido un caballo de escaras y sido feliz! Pedimos al comer solo app que nos aconsejaron la comida había sido entregado una hora y veinte minutos antes de que era en realidad. No hay gozo cuando reservé el restaurante y el conductor de la entrega no era alguien te gustaría representar a su empresa. No usar de nuevo, lo cual es una pena porque es nuestro local para llevar.

My experience was pleasant. The service was fast. The only thing is I got a parking ticket from the police for parking at the bus stop outside take away.

Very disappointed with the delivery time. Ordered at 6.40 and was advised delivery time would be 7.45. I had to phone at 8.05 only to be told it would be another 15-20 minutes

They have changed the curry sauce, not 100% on it atoll, tastes more fruity than curry xx

I have tried many chinese and Dragon palace is without doubt the best in the area. Chilli chicken is fantastic.
