I miss the 5 pound lunch from 30 years ago lol

Had a takeaway from here this evening, a pure waste of £47. Don't know what they're doing but nothing tasted right, even chicken curry and chicken chow mein were disgusting. Family love chips but even they went in the bin. We will not be back. Also don't like the fact that it's cash only, they may be saying they have an issue with merchant but I've never known them take card payment for years.

We used to get takeaways from here regularly but after a not so great meal last year we hadn't been back. We decided to give it another try again today and it was not good. The prices have shot up beyond expectation and the quality has gone right down. Couldn't believe they charge almost 12 quid for chicken fried rice. The curry sauce tasted like the stuff you mix up from a packet and the chips weren't cooked properly. I wouldn't waste your money

Very disappointed, returned there for takeaway last night, I have no idea what they had done to the hoisen sauce: it was awful and in the smallest container ever. The sauce resembled BBQ sauce but tasted disgusting. Veg was not that fresh either. On the flip side there were loads of duck and pancakes. Don't think I'll be rushing back, there are plenty of other Chinese takeaways in Bathgate

Best Chinese I’ve had in a long time. Can’t recommend the Singapore rice noodles enough! Service was great too and lovely inside.

Quiet (we were the only couple there) but very popular for carryouts. First visit for some time but very friendly and helpful staff and would definitely recommend the spicey king prawns - they were delicious and fresh not to mention filling.My husband enjoyed his beef sweet and sour dish too.

We have ordered from here twice in the past five or six weeks. On both occasions, they got my order wrong. First time round, they sent Mixed Meat Singapore Chow Mein instead of the vegetable version. This time, it was Cantonese Chicken instead of Cantonese Vegetables. I'm vegetarian. I was left sitting there with nothing while everyone else tucked in. Once, you can understand. Twice in a row is completely unacceptable.

Called to order a delivery how can you justify 15.85 for chips curry and rice and banana fritters. It was cancelled so disappointed the only Chinese I use but won’t be back

Visited recently and was wowed by the food and the genuine and personable customer service. The satay glazed king prawns were fabulous. Chinese style food isn't normally my first choice when eating out but I really, really enjoyed my meal here. Such a pleasant experience. Top marks.

Awwwhh am so disappointed! Somethings changed here, new chef? The food was terrible, chicken balls were burnt to a crisp, the "fried" rice was white, and the sauces have changed, gravy like slime, sweet n sour sauce was like water, my rice was swimming!! Such a shame, used to be the best in town, now the worst.

**appreciate your reply, maybay get a takeaway in future 😊** Food was lovely, absolutely no issues at all with that however young man that served us didn’t explain the menu properly and therefore ended up costing me more money which I was annoyed about. Specifically asked if they do half portions as the small ones on menu i personally thought were quite dear for what my Daughter would eat, nearly £10, and they don’t have a kids menu. I pointed to the ‘panda curry’ £7.20 on menu (I did NOT point to the small plates option) and asked if they could do a half portion of that to which he said he would go and check and came back after a few minutes and said yes that’s fine. On receiving the bill (which is not itemised) couldn’t work out why was more than i totalled up, so I asked him to break it down for me and turns out it was because I was charged the small plate price which was over £9, at this point a woman who works there also came out and explained a bit better to me but I was still annoyed that his mistake cost me more money and they never honoured it as most places do when their staff tell the customer something different to what they received, I appreciate he was new or so I was told, and I genuinely do not mean any malice but for me personally it’s good sound business practice to keep customer happy and honour mistakes, it wasn’t a case of us being ‘at it’ to try and get a reduced bill as I don’t mind paying for good quality food, it was more the mistake and confusion it caused me as I have autism so it really makes it difficult for me when something is not presented clear to me. He got our order mixed up and instead of giving us half portion of panda curry which is what I asked for and what he said he would go and check, he gave us a small plate which comes with rice even though I never asked or pointed to that and I also asked for a portion of rice to go with my chicken satay but never got that as he must have been confused over the small plate with rice: it just caused me unnecessary annoyance having to sort out the confusion/mistake which does not add well to a restaurant experience and me having to pay more than I anticipated, really put me off returning which is ashame as food is good.

Whilst visiting Bathgate for a couple of days my husband and I had a meal at the Panda. The food was well prepared and very tasty. Could not complain about the portion sizes - too much for me to finish! The service was very efficient and friendly. Restaurant is exceptionally clean, tidy and welcoming. Would highly recommend.

Use as a carry out not to sit in. Food choice and flavours excellent. Tender tasty chicken..

What a great little restaurant in the heart of Bathgate in Scotland. Definitely recommend if you like good service and a bit of bantler.

The best chinease in bathgate, i was pleasantly surprised at the sweet and sour chicken, it wasnt too sweet or acidic. The chicken was moist and cooked well, and you could tell this was fresh, good quality chicken. When ordering food i'd keep in mind that the portion sizes are a bit smaller than you would expect so it makes eating here a bit pricey, but i would say its worth it compared to the other takeaways nearby.

Really exceptional quality food, friendly staff and great boss who came out for a chat too. They even stayed open a little later than usual to accommodate my late arrival.

Food is always lovely and fresh . Best Beef Chow Mein around. Yes sometimes delivery can be a bit longer but worth waiting for and the staff are always lovely from taken your order to delivery .

Five of us had starters and mains and every one of us raved about the quality of our meals. Also, remarkably good value. We will definitely go back next time we're in Bathgate.

Stumbled across this wonderful little gem of a restaurant,by far the best Chinese meal I've ever eaten and so reasonably priced , beautifully cooked ,the shredded beef in honey chili sauce was incredible ,as we're the starters,everyone else's meals were fantastic too , can't recommend this place enough ,I'll definitely be back

Fast service between £3 & £2 more expensive than others. Curry sauce tub was a bit small chicken balls greasy. Fried rice could have done with another 5 minutes overall edible but won't be back.

Fancied a Chinese meal last night and stumbled across this little gem. It's not what I would call a traditional Chinese restaurant but the food was delicious and quickly served to us by two lovely young ladies who could not have been any nicer. Thank you 🐼 Panda.

First time ordering via an online delivery platform, whilst the food took an hour over the estimated time, it was worth the wait. Next time I’ll get off my arse and go to collect. Yummy :-)

Fabulous. We devoured piping hot Korean ribs, satay ribs, salt & chilli ribs, Tom yum soup, Singapore noodles, Thai green curry, special chow mean ( gluten free, made to order) and chicken and black bean. Excelled service, piping hot, tasty food, all served by a very friendly waitress. Highly recommend. Will definitely return

The Panda is back!!! The last two times that we've been (quite a few months ago) I've been disappointed as its not been as good as previous but thought we'd try it again last night when we were in the area. Had special fried rice and panda curry and it was as good, if not better than before!!!

This used to be a good place to eat. But has went completely downhill. Clupmy congealed sauces, Greasy rice, rubber beef. The list goes on. I definitely wouldn't recommend. A lot of nicer chinese places in bathgate at better prices too

Had our first takeaway tonight and it won’t be our last - food was delicious 😊 Menu is great too offering lots of different dishes. Looking forward to trying more soon.

We tried The Panda this evening! Absolutely beautiful food and the wee girl who served us was lovely and very attentive. We will def be back and we can’t rate The Panda highly enough.

We wanted a nice family dinner and thought we'd try this place. Everyone was very happy with their food, and there was plenty of it. My partner had the hot and sour soup. He said it was nice although not quite what he had expected, but we'll certainly be ordering from here again.

Fantastic meal on Saturday 8th April, service from Cameron was great. Korean ribs were very good and would recommend them as a must try. Was nice to speak with the chef after the meal, would highly recommend; Korean Ribs Kung Po Chicken Lemon prawns with sweet and sour sauce. Nice decor, great service and lovely food

We have been ordering food from The Panda for the past 28 years and would not order food from any other Chinese takeaway in West Lothian. The food is always excellent, no matter what is ordered from the menu. It is always our first choice for takeaway! They are brilliant when doing large orders too, everyone cannot wait for the food to arrive and tuck in as they all know how good it is! Absolutely brilliant food and service.

Panda is by far the best Chinese in the East Side of West Lothian . Food is always of a high standard. Food is always piping hot when delivered. Small downside is that the ribs have been fatty and not the best over the last month. Also on occasion delivery can be slow. Majority of time though everything is brilliant.

Seriously not impressed. First time I’ve used this take away restaurant and it will be the last. Regards if the food is good or not the time it has taken to reach us has been seriously off putting. Ordered at 6.05 Told to up 40 mins delivery it’s 19.50 and Still not here. Why did I divert from our original Chinese. Lesson learned, the grass isn’t greener on the other side. Stick to what and who you know. NEVER AGAIN !!!

Food was 1.5 hours late from what was quoted. Nothing was freshly prepared as the website says. The mixed starter for two was all frozen disgusting food. The special rise has no omelets on too but a bit of scrambled egg in it and no veg whatsoever.. i could get better frozen food from farmfoods… Never recommend this to anyone… what a disappointment from their website… complete false advertising.

Absolutely delicious. Struggle to find good Gluten Free but the panda is amazing 10/10 will be back again.

Fantastic food produced from locally sourced ingredients and meat. The satay glazed chicken balls/battered chicken (think lemon chicken but with satay glaze) is absolutely stunning. Prompt delivery and overall the best Chinese is Bathgate for quality.

Always good quality, fresh ingredients and never disappoints. Get yourself some General Tso's chicken or the chicken nuggets in a satay glaze. Salt n pepper king prawns are braw too. You can thank me later.

Always friendly, always good quality. Always fresh. Great weekday sit in set menu. Streets ahead of the other Chinese places in Bathgate. They'll even knock out a spicy yummy General Tso's Chicken if you ask nicely.

Fabulous food! First time here. Had a meal with my partner and my friend tonight. Everything was freshly cooked. Rice, vegetables, prawns and chicken were all delicious. Will definitely be back.

Currently easily the best Chinese food in the area. Fabby salt n chilli ribs. Friendly owner and staff. The also do the basics like sweet & sour, black bean sauce etc better than anyone else around. 5 stars.

I couldnt believe my luck when the I found out the Panda done Gluten Free options. There are so many and the food tastes great and I don't feel like I am missing out at all. Even do GF batter do salt and chilli chicken etc which I did not expect. The staff who answer the phones are always polite and helpful and always read my order back to me to make sure the dietary requirements are correct. The food arrives and the Gluten Free products are always labelled clearly. The one time that it wasn't a new order was sent out very quickly and we got money off out next order, which wasn't necessary but very generous. I would highly recommend. My hsuabd who is not GF loves this Chinese too.

Love the food. Always get take away though. But its best in town for me!

Best Chinese in town currently. Friendly, good value. Clean, fresh food. Limited choice menu on weekdays is good value for money. We're regulars now & will continue to be if standards remain this high. Their salt n chilli chilli are tender, meaty & juicy.

Currently the best chinese food to be had in Bathgate. Fresh, good quality & nice surroundings. Friendly staff & owners. They do a great value 2 courses for under £9 Monday to Thursday evenings which is as good value for sit in as an equivalent take away. I give it 5 stars not because it's on a par with authentic chinese places in Glasgow or Edinburgh but because they cook to a higher than is the norm for West Lothian. Salt n chilli chicken wings & ribs are succulent. Honey chilli chicken also very good. Decent versions of all the usual crowd pleasers too.

Phone for delivery girl on the phone was great this was our fourth meal from here meals was lovely but tonight was a let down my curry sauce was watery and tasteless it looked as if it was watered down rest of our meal was great

My other half and I visited this restaurant for a meal. We arrived about 6pm. The place was empty apart from one customer waiting for an order. Sst down at a table and the waitress brought over the menus. 15 minutes later we were still sitting waiting as the server was more interested in answering the phone, than dealing with us. So we gave up and walked out.We wont hurry back.

Great staff with gluten free awareness which is so reassuring when you are coeliac and have been promised n pained by people not knowing their stuff, great choice , fantastic portions and fresh ingredients , would recommend tjis to anyone not just gluten free for fantastic choice delivered by great accommodating and switched on staff ! Phone service, delivery and food quality from Panda takeaway are great. I promised to write a review if after the third time of trying the takeaway food it remained as good as the first. And here I am writing a review. The lady taking the orders has always been attentive, and pleasant. Every time we have ordered we have requested a specific delivery time and all 3 times out food has arrived on time or within 5 minutes. The food is excellent and I would definitely recommend this place to others looking for a Chinese meal that delivers on service and quality. Long may it continue to keep up this standard.

Had an amazing meal from the panda last night, the women on the phone insured us that everything we ordered would be done gluten free including- fried rice, rice noodles, lemon chicken(amazing), beef in black bean, szechuan beef, chips and prawn crackers! As i am coeliac it was so good to have a try of everything and not worry about being ill! On collection the women was very well organised with answering the phone, managing payments and being out the food! Amazing meal!

Very few cashew nuts - about 9 or 10 - in a takeaway dish called 'chicken cashew' -- maybe I should have realise this meant chicken with ONE cashew!!

Food was just not right. The duck was swimming in grease.... And tastes the same. Had to throw it as it was uneatable... The sweet chilly was like vinegar as well so went to the bin... Singapore rice was ok but had nothing to do with Singapore rice.. The chicken satay was however a surprise. Well made and great souce... However I ended up cooking as it was not enough for all of us.

Myself and my fiance sat in for our dinner. Service was quick and the waitresses nice and friendly. The food was good and all in all it was an enjoyable experience. We will definitely be back!

Great food but the delivery driver needs to learn how to talk to customers,Was in last night for a t-away and there was a table of young guys having a meal. The young guys no doing any harm was playing music on there phone the cook was dancing and the receptionist was singing along enjoying the music. The young guys was talking away to people that came in no doing any harm. Then the delivery driver came back and was threatening a guy at the table telling him he was going to get done in if he didn't stop playing the music. The young man did turn down the music when the phone went but the delivery driver was really arrogant. I would have seen the point if the young men were shouting and being arrogant to other customers but they were a nice bunch of young men.Shame on you I take it he got out the wrong side of the bed yesterday. Lighten up you should be grateful you are getting customers in. After all they help pay your wages

Ordered a takeaway on Friday night. The noodles were burnt and looked as if they had been scraped off the bottom of the pan.

I have been going to The Panda ever since I was introduced to chinese food as a little girl. The food is absolutely delicious and the staff are lovely. Special recommendation on the shredded chilli chicken in honey sauce & the salt and pepper chilli chips. Amazeballs

As always, thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We had the chicken noodle soup, followed by beef curry and chicken satay, both with fried rice. I moved from Bathgate a good few years ago and when I return, I always make sure we stop and eat there. Thanks again and never ever change the curry recipe 😀
