Excellent delivery service - always delivered quickly and food is excellent

Ordered food to have no onions but came with onion in it and my friend was ill all night and next day safe to say won’t b getting from there again and the attitude of her when I called got made out a lier

The food is bang average! The fact you’re charging almost £4 for a bag of chips is scandalous! Actual day light robbery! Stop being so god dam greedy!

Don't know about the atmosphere as it was a takeaway, but the best sweet and sour I've ever had. Actual sauce not pink gloop like most other Chinese takeaways. My wife had satay prawns which were also very good. Delivery was for 18:00 and the man was there on the dot. Very impressed will be the go to from now on.

Won't be using again, last 2 delivery's (£50 over 2 orders for 1 person) syrup burst all over my order. First time it happened I binned the order, second time I actually sent a message to the shop asking to check order and lids were safely on due to what happened previously, Order comes everything sticking swimming in syrup, driver takes my order back to the shop. Ordered at 7.45 delivers 9.00 was sitting down till 9.20 due to the food being sent back, food wasn't changed. Cartons were still sticky. It went back to the shop to be rebagged/wiped. Food is expensive now a days to buy in, you at least expect your food to be handled with care and maybe a small amount taken off your bill for the sheer hassle. Very very disappointed customer. I got the dry end of a driver due to wages not being increased!!

Please don't ever eat from here. Never had food poisoning so bad in all my life!! Only had a chicken chow mein with curry sauce. It's really put me off having people cook for me now

Last twice I ordered by phone and i waited around two hours for food to be delivered. Was then only average. Thought maybe third time lucky but 🤢. Chow mein was mush and tasteless and the fried rice was a massive clump. Absolutely disgusting and all went in the bin! Wont be back as a total waste of money. So so disappointed.

Usually we would order then pick up, Placed our order for delivery around 6.30pm, requested As soon as possible on the app. It was just over 80mins before it arrived. When it did arrive, the chicken noodle soup was cold and it was tasteless, our main dish, rice and spring rolls were also cold although once heat up were nice. Except the spring rolls as were soggy. Think I'll try somewhere else next time or go back to collection. Sorry Yu wasn't a fan on this occasion.

Don't know what's going on with them lately but the fried rice and plain fried noodles keep arriving burnt! 😭 They used to be so good.

Really disappointed with the food tonight, haven’t ordered in a while, thought I would give them a go again. Food wasn’t hot, Chicken wings were burnt, I asked for extras in my chow mein which weren’t added, the chow mein was dry with zero flavour. Gutted as it wasn’t cheap. Would have given zero stars if I could and won’t be ordering again.

Best place in Penicuik for a Chinese takeaway. Same price as everywhere else but you get about 2x as much food. Never need to wait too long for a delivery either.

Hair in noodles. Collection time 19.10 got food at 19.35 people came into shop after me and got food before me, shambles of a place, wont be back

Ordered chicken sweet corn soup, chicken curry fired rice no onion and spring roll was 11 pound on tea time special on collection. The soup was nice, had a fair amount of sweetcorn and a decent amount of chicken The spring rolls were superb as always. The curry was delicious not to spicy loads of chicken and some big mushrooms it was good.

Overcharged me and gotten my order wrong the last two times that I have visited. They refused to refund or make the order right both times 🤷🏻‍♀️

Great food. Delivery took an hour which was expected. We were happy with what we ordered, they also added complimentary prawn crackers which I thought was nice.

Nice food, nice staff and most importantly the quality is consistent. Too many other places are great one week and terrible the next. Yu is not like that.

We've been coming here a while but the last couple of orders have been a bit of a let down. In both cases an item was missing. This time, the rice had a burnt flavour to it, the prawn toast and chips were overcooked. The sweet and sour chicken was okay. Overall it feels like something has changed and it's not what it once was

Wow that was the worst food I ever ordered, wasn't able to finivh it. Sweet chilli pork all water and sugar not possible to eat, same pork in second dish roasted who knows when and then chopped put into all dishes.

Ordered from you guys and delivery was so speedy so much better than the others around my area, food was amazing obviously still super hot which is amazing no complaints from now on, yuu will be our local Chinese

Last time I'll order from this place. So disappointing. Boiled chicken in some watery sauces out a jar. The prawn toast was passable. Since when does special fried rice come covered in a brown sauce and no veg in it? A real shame, years ago they were good.

First time trying this place, pretty dissapointed, was looking forward to it as recommended by a neighbour but sadly we won't be using it again,

Waited an hour for food before calling and finding out it had been delivered to the wrong address. Said it would be sorted. Another hour later I phone to be told it’s on its way. Ordered at 5:45pm arrived at 8:20pm. No refund, no goodwill gesture and the food was lukewarm. Food is normally tasty but service was a joke tonight. I’d avoid!

Excellent service! From women on phone to delivery driver! Delivery very quick and food very hot, got the munchie box and it’s the best I’ve ever had! Would say it’s the best Chinese in Penicuik

Order from here regularly, never been disappointed yet 👍 the portion sizes are always really good (and not expensive for what you get) and it's always delicious! I usually pick up through the app they use but if you get a delivery it's usually pretty quick, couldn't recommend them enough!

Ordered food for the family the night before my dads birthday. Food was absolutely lovely and staff were amazing, we received spring rolls with the order Instead of prawn crackers and when we called up staff were amazing and dropped them off straight away. Brilliant service and food, thank you

Ordered from here quite a few times. Recent order was far to quick to be fresh (19 mins from online order to food on my table). Chilli Beef was so powdery it was inedible. Binned it. So disappointed and won't order from here again.

Only ever had from here twice, a beef curry with salt and chilli chips and a chicken satay with salt and chilli chips, which was lovely although the sauces were quite runny

We use the Yu very often but after today no more I placed an order To collect and have to traveland 25 minutes of a journey to collect this time the wrong order was Made up with little concern for what had happened the way I feel now is I won’t use Yu again

Went for a take-away and was greatly surprisedto find such good Chineese food in Penicuik. Well worth a visit and you will be surprised at the flavour and quality of their food.

Always great food. It is our go to Chinese in Penicuik! The salt and chilli chicken/chips are amazing along with their thai curries, kung po king prawns and satay/curry sauce. Always great service and delivery time.

The service was fantastic. Staff friendly. But my food was stodgy and badly cooked. I only ordered chicken fried rice which should be difficult to get wrong but they did. The 2 stars iv gave is for the friendly server.

Food here is amazing and the portion size was great, they got lost when delivering so it wasn't very hot but I will be using them again and they will get used to where my house is....over all amazing place :)
