Anderston / City, Glasgow City
14/12/2018: Recently visited Opium to have a meal with a bunch of friends, on entering the premises we found the décor and ambience to be a lot different from our usual Chinese restaurants. The staff are very well presented and gave us a warm welcome, we were seated in minutes and had our drink order taken very quickly. The restaurant was very busy and it was foreseeable that the service would be a bit slow. The food was delicious and just the right size of serving, everyone of enjoyed our meals. I would recommend the chili salt and pepper squid followed by the slow cooked beef clay pot, both were a culinary delight. If you want something a little bit different, I would definitely recommend the Opium.
13/12/2018: Me and my boyfriend went for dinner last night. Shared three starters and two mains - the crab dumplings were absolutely stunning, as were the butternut squash parcels. The staff were all super lovely and attentive, the restaurant was cosy and nicely lit. It didn't necessarily feel like a restaurant right in the middle of town - it has a really relaxed atmosphere. The prawns we had for main course were UNBELIEVABLE, one of the most delicious meals. Would totally recommend going here for dinner!

Sichuan House

Anderston / City, Glasgow City, 20-30£
15/12/2018: Been here before about eighteen months ago when it was very good.
07/12/2018: I am generally wary of restaurants using pictorial menus but decided to try this place out for lunch. No great loss if it did not work. Delighted with food, service and value and will return next time in Glasgow.

Ho Wong

Anderston / City, Glasgow City, 45-60£
16/12/2018: Family meal for 6. Chose the set menu and everything was delicious. Can't recommend this place highly enough. It's not the cheapest but at the Ho Wong you can taste the difference.
12/12/2018: Great food and amazing service . The set menu is fantastic, the duck pancakes are by far the best I’ve ever had . Great range of wines and Chinese beers. Can’t wait to return .

China Blue

Anderston / City, Glasgow City
10/12/2018: As we visit Glasgow every Christmas we usually dine at the amber regent, thought about a change this year, wish we didn't,
09/12/2018: Was looking for a restaurant in Glasgow and used trip advisor to find one.

Lychee Oriental

Anderston / City, Glasgow City, <20£
13/12/2018: Recently visited LYCHEE ORIENTAL food was nice however very overpriced and then was told about a 12 percent service charge as we were in a group larger than 5 people, which was very poor as the service was not great at all. Half our table was finished their mains meal before others had even started there's would not recommend going in large group as the service charge was ridiculous.
12/12/2018: We have not visited this restaurant for some time, but we're nearbye and decided to visit at lunchtime. We opted to try the Christmas lunch. We were very disappointed with the quality of the food. There was nothing particularly wrong, it was just not up to the standard we used to get here. I noticed that the paintwork was needing a freshen up and small things like stained condiment dishes with broken dirty corks. All in all a very uninspiring visit. Even more so when we remember how it used to be.

Angie's Cafe

Anderston / City, Glasgow City
28/10/2018: Popped in for a quick bite to eat and found the most amazing value set menu for £5.99 choice was great and food was hot fresh and delicious.
25/09/2018: This is a spartan little transport cafe like chinese option. No frills. The £5.00 2 course meal has recently risen to £5.50 but is still excellent value. Prawn crackers and a cup of chinese tea will raise your total bill to £8.50. Main course Sweet and Sour Chicken with Fried Rice was excellent not so the starters of mini spring rolls which looked like defrosted from the packet Iceland specials. Not appetising.

Ka Ka Lok

Hillhead, Glasgow City
03/11/2018: Leímos varios comentarios que decían que este es el mejor restaurante chino de Glasgow, y el más auténtico. A nosotros nos pareció fantástico.
28/10/2018: The patrons there are mostly locals, not tourists - that’s a good indication of the level of service, food quality and authenticity. They serve you a complementary bowl of soup, so that’s one less thing to order on a cold rainy evening.

Lee Wong

Mossend and Holytown, North Lanarkshire
07/08/2018: Food super, yes, you may have to wait, but, it is worth it I will get a call from my daughter in Motherwell for an order.
22/06/2018: Been to a few chineese take always in the area and i must say the lee wong is right up there. Food is always tasty and fresh.

Canton Restaurant

Johnstone South, Elderslie & Howwood, Renfrewshire
03/11/2018: Ordered tonight from most local place to us.
26/10/2018: I popped in for a takeaway and after waiting for what seemed like ages, I was shocked to find that instead of fried rice, they had given me CHIPS, I hate chips at the best of times. There was no way I'd be jumping back in the car to drive the 40 minutes round trip, what a let down.

Amber Regent

Anderston / City, Glasgow City
16/12/2018: Group of 16 looking to celebrate a friend’s 50th Birthday, where will we go??
11/12/2018: Food is nice but overpriced and staff not the best of manners!! Will still go along with work friends but wouldn't be my first choice only because of what they charge of what you get !!

Baillieston, Glasgow City
07/12/2018: staff very nice and helpful food was great and even got a box to take home We will be back we were all very pleased
30/10/2018: Visited here for a joint 60th meal celebration. They were set up for us with a good choice of very reasonably priced menu. Service was great, quite a few of our group had the highly recommended extra hot curry and said that it was very hot and delicious. We all enjoyed ourselves so much so that we wanted to go on Christmas day, but unfortunately they couldn't accommodate us. The only downside of our visit on Saturday was the looks of annoyance from 1 or 2 people - who need to get a life!

Good Date

Mossend and Holytown, North Lanarkshire
03/12/2018: The "waitress" who works during the day is the worst I have ever seen. We arrived at half 1 and the very 1st thing she said was "are yous gonnae be done for 2?". We got our meals but before we took a single bite she asked if we wanted a desert. When we said no she immediately put the bill on the table. She then went outside the front door to smoke and came back in absolutely stinking of smoke. The food here is always nice but the service at lunch time is a disgrace!
20/08/2018: One of the oldest take away in Bellshill, and still has a high standard of food. Beef curry is my favorite from here.

Canal, Glasgow City

Anderston / City, Glasgow City
04/10/2018: I've been going to Chinaskis for years, we love it. It's got a great atmosphere, you can bring the dog, there is a great variety for veggies and vegans at a reasonable price. Only not 5 star because the baked camembert is sorely missed
14/09/2018: i've been to Chinaski's many times and have always had a good meal. In fact, about two months ago I had an amazing meal.

The Princess Rose

Lomond, West Dunbartonshire, 20-30£
13/12/2018: My family and I used to live in the area and used to dine in the restaurant .I considered it the best chinese in the area , last week we visited the area once again and ordering a take away from princess rose was a must . Unfortunately it was not anywhere near as good as we recalled from the past. The chicken used in the dishes tasted of nothing ( frozen and pumped full of water to make it weigh more I would say ) .the chicken chow mein is not what you would tradionally expect ,mushrooms amongst over veg included? But what was most disappointing was the " Chinese gravy " at cost of £2. It was a tub of gravy made with beef gravy granules ; nothing chinese about that. We spent £50 for 4 of us . Most of it went in the bin . Poor quality and at approximately £7 a dish a right rip off
24/11/2018: Beautiful freshly cooked quality food, with excellent service. Lunch time menu, although fairly limited, is reasonably priced, generously portioned and really tasty. Evening menu is a lot dearer, but well worth it. Food couldn't taste better, portions are huge, and extraordinary efforts are involved in the beautiful presentation. We gladly travel 100 miles to this lovely restaurant, & 3 times have brought visitors with us. You can't beat their crispy chilli beef, Cantonese sweet and sour king prawns, or barbecued spare ribs! Our next trip up shortly will be for our wedding anniversary.
